Same great taste from when they use to be a food truck on the corner of Central and Washington. Later they bought the corner lot. Every single detail from the beans and sauces and drinks remind me of my childhood days because everything is the same. My parents took us every weekend for years after church.

This is the second TACOS GAVILAN I’ve been to the first being the West Covina location and it was amazing This location looks great. It’s very clean and the employees are very friendly. I ordered a carne asada burrito and a side of rice. My food came out quick the burrito was pretty good but did not taste the same as the West Covina location The rice also tasted different ( didn’t really care for the rice ) Food was still good but definitely not the same

The location is nice and clean, the staff efficient but in a hurry to get you out of the way. However, it's mostly about the food right? The Carne Asada tacos were pretty good, the lingua even better. I like that the tortillas were a different type that didn't make every bite dry and bulky. The condiments are serve yourself and come in plastic bags like a school cafeteria.It wasn't bad but definitely added to that fast food vibe, hurry up and get out. The Horchata wasn't the worst I've tried and definitely not the best. Great for a family to stop and grab a bite after the school soccer match, not so much for a date or intimate dinner.

I placed an order with doordash for some food and tried to put the tacos in ordered as plain for my kid only for the app to tell me to call, I call and the operator tells me the number isn't in service. Get it together either make it optional to edit the order or get a number that works pick a struggle.

Not up to the Los Angeles location standard. I ate at this Rialto location thinking it was easier to just go closer to home. First problem- No drive thru, so a quick pick up isn't happening. Second- most locations have a problem getting your food right. One guy had to come back and get his order correct. I thought, I've been there before buddy. My problem when I got my food was my all meat burrito had only half the burrito meat, the meat was cool, mostly gristle and fat, the other half was full of sour cream and cold cheese. Very disappointing meal.

The food is good but they repeatedly have forgotten my tortillas, put beans when I asked for no beans, have repeatedly given me the wrong sauces when I ordered through a delivery service, and also skimp out BIG time on the meat. It's nearby and on the lower price end which is why I keep going back but at this point it feels like a toxic relationship 😭

I hate to leave a bad review but by far the worst tacos I've tried in the area. I passed up all the street vendors on the way, the reviews seemed really promising. Unfortunately was highly disappointed ended up throwing the food away. Only good thing I have to say, they are clean and the beans were ok. The tortillas was horrible and the meats were low quality and absolutely no flavor. Well not be returning.

Food is good but the service is terrible. From inconsistent charges to recently ordering 3 tacos and receiving only 1 then requesting the rest of my tacos already paid for and only getting 2. I guess tacos gavilan gets to win an extra tacos worth of money. Shame on me for reordering my a tacos 3 times and figuring they would get the order right. 11/08/2025 1am

Food is always uncooked then they get mad when you tell them to cook it longer and charge extra. Cashiers always have attitude. People come to eat we do not want to deal with your problems otherwise don’t show up for work.

Back in the 90s, when I was young, we used to go down to Florence, where we found the Tacos el Gavilan taco truck. They were big, fresh, and when you added the beans, grilled onions, and jalapeños, they were heavenly. Those tacos eclipse the ones they are selling nowadays. Even when they installed a restaurant right in front of the taco truck, we would still go to the truck. So when I found this one location, I was really looking forward to trying them. But what a disappointment it was. The 3-bite tacos are good but could be better. By the time you sit to eat, the tortilla is cold because the kid serving them gets a whole pile of tortillas from the kitchen. The Lengua had a weird taste, maybe because it wasn't fresh. The carnitas were good, but they were so few that I can tell you that I didn't even get a good taste of them. The asada was so overcooked that it was hard. I was craving a sope so much, but this one was just sad. The tortilla didn't even seem fried. The sope didn't ressemble a sope it was just bad. The good thing about this place is that the aguas frescas are $3 dollars and you can drink as much as you want. The staff was unhappy and plain disconnected from the customers. I tried smiling at them and nothing. Everyone here seems to not wanna be here, which gives the place a depressing vibe. I understand this is not the best location, and they must meet all kinds of crazies, but at least show some customer care. I don't think I will be going back to this place. Or any of them, I have been to two other locations in LA, and they all seem to have this sad, customer disconnect vibe, not inviting at all. How sad. This place used to have such good quality food, but now they have truly stopped caring. The place was clean, which is a lot to say about a restaurant nowadays.
