We had a great experience here at Mi Cina in Richardson. Our host was very nice and sat us quickly. Loved the atmosphere and aroma of Mexican food coming from the kitchen. We have been coming to this restaurant for a few years now. They make us feel like family. They even know our favorite dishes. The Havana chicken in a chimichanga is my favorite. Raul and Fatima are our favorite servers. We will be coming here forever.

We eat at the Campbell/Coit location every Friday for lunch, and always have excellent service and the best food. All of the wait staff is amazing, but today we had Manuel, who is one of the best that works there. He is fast, attentive, remembered that we always get the same drinks when we come, and he just brought them without us ordering. I highly recommend, Mi Cocina is our go-to for TexMex.

Our family has been long time customers at Mi Cocina in Richardson. No one knows how to manage a restaurant better than Lupe . He makes everyone feel special and at home —and our absolute favorite waiter is Martin! The atmosphere here is just amazing. Everyone is positive and lively, always full of laughter , making my experience ten times as good. Not to mention the food is outstanding! I love walking in and being greeted by the sweetest girls with the most precious smiles. Especially Gillian , Jennifer, Karen , and Susana. They are always so helpful as well as the servers. I always have such a good time here and they always find a way to lighten my mood.

Today I had a friend visiting from Las Vegas and I wanted to make sure he had a good impression of Dallas Mexican food, and I never get it wrong going to Mi Cosina (Coit and Campbell). We were greeted by the manager Liliana who was very cordial and friendly. We were serve by Alfredo, he was amazing, top notch customer service. We were indecisive, Alfredo's suggestions for dinner was on the spot. Appetizers, fish tacos, Carne asada, fajitas and of course the best mambo taxi Margaritas. I will say the guacamole was delicious and super fresh. I also should compliment the chef and staff for their work. The dishes were delicious. 10 out of 10 all around.

Having eaten the guacamole inside the restaurant I was looking forward to having some at home. Big mistake. My takeaway guacamole had huge pieces of avocado in it and the guacamole was flavorless. Mi Cocina still needs to work on their tortilla chips. Ours were so thick and lacking salt. Come on, Mi Cocina. Check out Chuy’s tortilla chips for the perfect ones.

Cameron at Mi Cocina was awesome. He seriously went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. From the start, he was super friendly and easy to talk to through and the conversation just felt natural—not forced or over the top. He was really on top of everything too. Drinks never sat empty, food came out perfectly, and he caught the little details without us even having to say anything twice. It honestly felt like he genuinely cared that we had a good experience, not like he was just going through the motions. Great vibe, great service, and just an all-around solid guy. We’ll definitely be back and hope to sit in his section again.

They have great food at a responsible price. The servers are friendly and do a great job. Will be returning. If I had one thing to suggest it would be to please return the condiments back to the tables. There are no salt & pepper shakers at the table or sugar.

Mi Cocina is a reliable place to go for amazing food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. The past few times we have visited, we have had the pleasure of Raul taking care of our table. This man is incredible. We have crossed other Tex Mex restaurants off of our list because of his outstanding service. I’m not kidding. My husband and I used to visit Desperados weekly until our regular server just seemed to stop caring. But, I digress. This Mi Cocina is incredible and will give you an excellent dining experience that will literally make you stop going anywhere else. Oh! And if you love a strong margarita, definitely get the Double Barrel! It’s the best hands down! And if you’re wondering what we order, we always make it easy by ordering the spinach enchiladas all around the table. If you’re vegetarian ( we’re not but it’s so good! ) definitely get the spinach enchiladas! You will be back for more GUARANTEED!

Rico Salad is my favorite and they even added a Rico Salad wrap to the lunch menu, I got this with steak and it was incredible. Love their house margaritas and chips and salsa. I'll never have a bad thing to say about Mi Cocina. I am particularly fond of the sunset style fajitas. Their table salsa is great. Their nachos are amazing, and their tex-mex stuff is good. I don't drink often, but if I do, it's at Mi Cocina, and it's a mambo taxi or a mango margarita. The service is always impeccable. They are great at being available but not intrusive. Polite but not over-the-top. The ambiance is great. Even on busy nights, when seated, it feels like an intimate experience. Pricing is about $15 and up per person, but considering quality and portion size, it's more than worth it. I love you, Mi Cocina

Their super super fast here, I mean like right when u sit down they bring chips and get your order for drinks, then food. The wait for food is like barely 20 minutes id say 10-15 min wait.

MiCocina has REALLY experienced a downturn in overall quality and service over the last many months! Take for example the chips and salsa - I have had better from store brand tortilla chips (which these might have been) and the salsa is one step above Pace. :( Also - this MamboTaxi was mysteriously lacking the typical quarter-half Sangria that it usually is. Sigh.... *I appreciate the reply, BUT.... having finished the meal, I now think this visit actual warrants just three stars - there was a long wait, poor service and attention from our server, and the food was OK, but not the usual 'outstanding' that I'm used to from the MCrowd! Great place for good tasting Mexican food. The service was quick and their tables are very well separated for following social distancing. They dont skimp on spices, making the dish i ordered (crispy chicken enchiladas) full of wonderful aroma and flavor.

The service was pretty good. Ambience in this location is nice and relaxing. Their salsa is one of the best out there. As well as the chips. I ordered a cup of the tortilla soup which had a delicious broth and was quite good. A nice chunk of avocado in it with soft cheese as well. I also ordered the enchilada dinner with queso sauce. The enchiladas weren't as tasty as anamias in plano, but they were still good. My wife ordered the Rico salad with chicken and chile lime dressing. It was also very good and she was pleased. Overall a pleasant experience.

I was invited for Brunch and I had The Brisket Tacos. The Brisket was good, but the Corn Tortillas used are not MY fave. I didn't like the taste they had and when I bit into the Taco, The tortilla was Chewy, Tough and cold. I will try the Brisket Tacos again and request it on a Flour Tortilla. My GodSister had The Botana Platter, which was good. She had a Taxi Mambo, which looked delicious and by the looks of her Empty glass, I bet it was. I just drank my fave,(Mexican Coke). The Staff and Atmosphere was all nice. I will go back.

Queso Blanco barely had any flavor, salsa is more of a garlic sauce . Beef fajitas did not had much flavor or salt going on either. Service was good 👍

I went during dinner time and the place was packed. I was to get a seat at the bar right away. Waitress took care of me right away and was friendly. My dinner was really good. I didn't try any of the margaritas but they look fabulous.

Menu is one page so pretty simple to select. Had chicken fajitas. They do come out on metal hot plate which is good. Setup is pico with guacamole. No cheese or sour cream. Maybe you have to ask. Chicken was pretty good. Standard Tex Mex most folks are use to. Comes on a bed of onions . Was pretty skimpy on the bell pepper. Only use Green and there were only 3 pieces which matched the number of tortillas provided. Tortillas were decent. It came with two large steak cut fries which were really good and a surprise. Guacamole was good as well as the pico. Enough chicken to make three large tacos. Rice and beans better than average which is really nice.

The chips were very hard but the salsa was pretty good with some nice spice to it. The beef taco was generous in size and was filled to the top with beef. The rest of the meal was average. Atmosphere was fine but the restaurant was extremely cold. They have a nice patio area. I went to the bar to have change made for the tip and the lady working the bar area was super friendly. The whole experience was just average. However, I'll return to try some other things on the menu.

I have been going to MiCocina since 2012. I believe that this was my worst experience with the food. The sunset chicken enchiladas were very dry and not as usual.

Went for lunch today hoping for a quick bite before I picked up my daughter. I showed up just a couple of minutes after 11:00 AM and had time for a 45 minute lunch but hoping for less. I waited 20 minutes and no one had taken my meal order, so I left. I did have someone take my drink order and I had iced tea and chips and salsa, but no one came by again for my meal order. There were literally more employees than customers at the time this occurred (one table of three, another guy sitting by himself at the bar, and then me at a table). I saw employees chatting amongst themselves, one on their cell phone, none asking me what I would like to eat. I have experienced similar issues at the same location in the past but not quite this bad. It is always when I show up for an early lunch and hoping for a reasonably fast lunch (30-45 minutes), solo more often than not and on weekdays when I am looking for a quick bite and then get back to work. There seems to be an issue with this restaurant right after opening for lunch on weekdays where somehow they just aren't quite ready to ramp up and start taking orders. The food is consistently good. But quite frustrating to wait 20 minutes and still not even have placed an order when the place is relatively empty and there are clearly employees not doing anything within sight.

Ok food. Chips were ok. Service was good. I put the atmosphere as a 4 because the light at our table was flashing so much that it started hurting our eyes. Overall though it was a “three star” experience. Also they didn’t fill up our waters as often as we liked, and didn’t check in with us as often as other restaurants.

We were hungry for TexMex and this place was the first we found in the area. Food was good but nothing special. We had chicken tacos and beef fajitas. Service was adequate but not friendly.

I haven't been to this Mi Cocina in awhile and I was disappointed in their food quality. I went for tortilla soup ($6.95) and was surprised it is served in a smaller bowl than I remember. Also, there were only four pieces of chicken (chunks) which is different than the menu description of hand shredded. I will likely try again though since their salsa is top notch.

The food was not good at all. The chicken in the enchiladas tasted very old. Very unsatisfactory meal. Will not go back to eat there. Don’t want to eat Mexican food again and the sad part is Mexican food is my Husband’s favorite food:(

I visited recently and was very disappointed with my experience. The food was pretty good, but it took around 15 minutes to be greeted, and quite a bit longer to get my drink. We also felt extremely rushed by the server after we received our food. I had been looking forward to giving Mi Cocina a second chance, unfortunately this visit wasn't great.

I'm baffled by the positive reviews, frankly. This is some of the most disappointing Tex Mex I've encountered in Texas. Pictured: a "guacamole chalupa," a lump of guacamole sitting on a dry, cold tortilla. Also, a "beef picadillo taco," which here tasted (and looked) like ground meat with a pinch of taco seasoning. Big handfuls of cheddar cheese accented every dish - except, that is, margaritas that clearly came from mixer in a jug. Texas is full of incredible, passionately handmade Tex Mex and Mexican food. Mi Conina churns out dull food that would barely pass in Kansas.

Food was great and the service was amazing but one bad thing can ruin a great dinner , I was driving drinking water from a broken glass " not good at all"

Came in earlier today and got seated pretty quickly. The server was extremely rude. Didn't greet us just came up and said "drinks?" Took forever to get our water and he just walked past empty glasses, took the chip bowl and walked away. He never did refill our drinks. Didn't say anything. He maybe actually talked to us 3 times, to take the drink order, food order, and the check. I wanted to speak to the manager but she was no where to be found. Incredibly upsetting service, the server very obviously did not want to be there at all. Will not come back and I suggest no one visit this location. Others have nicer service that actually care about their jobs.

I found PLASTIC in my to go order!!! For such a big chain, the quality control is utterly lacking and frankly shameful. Someone could have choked on this piece of plastic in the food. Never eating here again and recommending others to find alternatives to MiCocina. Tex-Mex restaurants are abundant in DFW area so that's not a challenging endeavor.

My Aunt and I Dined here last night .And the experience was horrible. We were treated like we weren't welcome. We sat at the Bar due to it being told it would be a 45 min to a Hour Wait. Once at the Bar no one came and greeted us. After waiting I excused myself to the restroom and came back and we finally had Chips and Salsa. The Chip we received were cold so I asked for sum Warm Ones. While sitting we asked if we could be moved to a Table..that never happen. So we finally get to order. I ordered the Mama Tacos and They we're so Cold. My rice was also cold. At this we wer'e both over it. I don't think I'll be visiting this Location ever again. We used our Hard Earned Money and got Poor Service and Mediocre Food. I'm currently on the line now trying to speak to a Manager but whoever answered keeps pressing the Hold Button. I Swear I don't know what happen to Great Customer Service And Delicious Food. But I Will Say the Drinks Are Ok.

I am I regular at Mi Cocina because I love your food, and service is usually great. I frequent Frisco , The Colony, and Bent Tree. They’re my favorite places to grab a bite. My complaint is regarding last week on Friday June 27. I was invited to a business meeting with my partner at the Lenox location, and it’s a shame that after lunch, I noticed the tables , chairs and floor were very dirty, and many tables around me , and we noted that the managers and staff were eating in the back. I understand that the staff needs time to eat, but someone needs to be alert for the costumers that arrive after lunch and the restaurant should at least be clean. Like I mentioned, I’ve been to other locations and I’ve never seen this. I hope you really take care of this because I really like Mi Cocina and it’s shame that the restaurant was so filthy. Honestly entirely unacceptable.

i came in and was seated right away food was also very good but the manager lupe was way too touchy with the hostess which wasn’t appropriate for my kids to see in a family restaurant! 😡 i wish i could’ve rated this place better they really deserved it with how delicious the food was and how the fast and great the service was but that is unacceptable in a family restaurant.

Smallest bowl of mediocre soup ever. Hard to believe it was $10.95. Asked for lemon in my water, never happened. Tiny splash of salsa, never refilled. Server couldn't carry less. Must be dozens of better places. Very disappointing.

Had dinner there 2.11 @ 6ish There was a 10 min wait Waiter took a long time to come, ordered water - you would have thought we ordered drinks from the bar, water came we tried to order but he ran off! When he came back we ordered, at that time we asked for more hot sauce, then the queso came out, cheese was burnt and it was extremely greasy! Still no hot sauce, now we need chips then the chimichanga came, it was good, but still no hot sauce & now we are out of water, hot sauce came about 8 minutes into meal chimichanga now warm not hot, still no water, finally another waiter sees the distress on my face and asked if he could get us anything, thank goodness for him, our waiter was beyond sub par! I feel like there are a ton of Mexican restaurants we could of eaten at, but we chose MiCocina, it was a waste of time, money and calories! With the options we have for Tex- Mex in Texas, they can do better, beyond disappointed - we won’t be back, I would like to add our MiCocina in Rockwall is always GREAT ! I understand you can have an off night, but this chain has been around a long time and should know better! People are eating Mexican food for the hot sauce and chips !

Food was fine, not great. Service was atrocious. Waiter walked away as I was asking questions before ordering and it was clear from the get go he wanted to get that table turned over ASAP. To top it off, with food still on my plate and actively eating he picked up my plate and after it was already in his hand asked if I was done. The check was in front of me seconds after that. Never again for me.

chips and salsa tasted store bought ive had better store bought chips than that.service was alright i don’t think my server really understood me. the sunset enchiladas are dry and not good. the brisket burrito was alright but looked like a kids meal and the salad came w no dressing. waste of money i would not go back.

Last Saturday, I reunited with a group of friends and we went to Mi Cocina because we were in the mood for margaritas. The service from our server was very good; however, we witnessed something that truly upset me. The server accidentally spilled a little water on the floor, and in front of us and the people sitting at the bar, the restaurant manager scolded him in a very aggressive and humiliating way, waving his hands and speaking to him in an extremely disrespectful manner. The server calmly kept saying that he would clean it up and that there was no need to speak to him that way, but the manager continued treating him poorly. It is sad to realize that by going to these places we may be supporting the mistreatment of employees. If this happened in front of customers, I don’t want to imagine what goes on behind closed doors. I hope the server did not have any further issues, because if he was treated so aggressively over something as minor as spilling a bit of water, I can’t imagine how other situations are handled. I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but I genuinely feel very bad for that worker. It is unbelievable that in 2026 these kinds of abuses toward employees still happen. I hope the company works to improve this. As for me, I cannot continue supporting businesses like this with my money

My server, Martin, was very rude and condescending. I ordered one type of drink, got a completely different drink and the server tried to gaslight me. Had to go to the bar to order and get the right drink. He would “forget” to check on us several times throughout our visit and visibly ROLLED HIS EYES at us when we asked for separate checks (we were only 4 people) HORRIBLE service from this server. If you get him, ask for a different server if you want remotely good service. Honestly such a shame bc we LOVE Mi Cocina and it was such a disappointing experience. Do better.

I’d give this restaurant a zero if possible. It’s definitely one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food was absolutely pathetic. I ordered the MICO BURRITO for $17 which is supposed to be “stuffed with slow-roasted brisket.” In reality, the burrito was very small (think kid-sized) and contained tasteless ground beef. So I sent the burrito back and ordered the shredded-chicken enchilada dinner. That too was a disaster. The chicken was not shredded, it was minced. And the meat was utterly tasteless. The corn tortillas looked very old and tasted equally bad. On top of the enchiladas they dabbed with a couple pieces of cheese like that even mattered. I ate some of the slop just because was hungry and didn’t want to send back another plate of low-quality food. The noise level in the restaurant is extremely loud. We were there on Friday evening so the restaurant was busy and you expect some noise. But the noise level in this restaurant was like a nightclub minus the music. It was so loud it’s hard to communicate with anyone unless you’re face-to-face. I literally had to cup my hands around my mouth so that the waiter could hear my order. In fairness, the service was prompt and polite. So we paid our bill and left a good tip for the wait staff. It wasn’t their fault that the food was poor and the atmosphere was insufferable.
