They were great. One thing you should know before you use the drive thru; they do not have a menu board or speaker. Know your order before you get to the window to ensure all get what they want.

Called in my order. They were fast and their food is delicious. Freshly made with their salsas and Jalapeños. We all enjoyed it. Well come back again.

the tortas??? honestly the most amazing thing i’ve had in ridgecrest since moving here a year ago from the mecca of food, nyc. the fact that they cook it as you order it is amazing. you can tell why it’s been around for as long as it has. definitely will be coming back to try all the other foods.

COVID-19 update: drive thru only. And you have to drive around and get back in line while they make your food. If you know anything about their burgers and fries here, you know that it’s worth the double drive thru situation.

I love the golden ox. Yea it's a hole in the wall and only has three tables, but man oh man their pastrami sandwhich is to die for. Maybe die from too, I dunno, it's really good. Go eat one!

I love their green burrito with pork, so savory and melts in your mouth. My wife likes their burgers, this is one of the only places in town that makes her order how she likes it. The staff are very nice! I have liked everything that I’ve tried so far and would highly recommend as some of the best eats in Ridgecrest!

And if you're going to use the drive thru I suggest ordering ahead, nobody likes to be rushed so let them prepare with love ahead of time, worth it... California burrito is amazing here, try it!

Food is really great - it is a bit a dive, but the burgers!! Yum! Small amount of seating inside and a couple of concrete seating outside. You can call ahead for pick up in their small drive through. The drive thru menu outside doesn't work so pull up to the window. This place is not heart healthy, but the food is great!

Service is kinda slow but the food is definitely worth the wait. unfortunately the dining room will never open back up again (after the pandemic they decided to just go drive thru only from now on).its not cheap but not expensive and the food is good enough to justify the price. Give this place a try

The drive thru speaker was broken so you have to drive straight to the window. The food was good, (cheese burger/fries), large strawberry shake. The shake had too much milk (diluted). Overall, I will return.

This place confounds me...some days, your food comes out hot, tasty, and in plentiful proportions, but go back a week later and the same order will be either thrown together, skimpy on the portions, or mistimed in the kitchen so that at least one of the items you ordered is lukewarm, at best. I do like the zucchini fries, but that's one item you really don't want delivered lukewarm. Also, they're pricing is more in line with what you'd get charged in other towns, rather than the near automatic 10% markup that most restaurants here in town tack on to everything.

I love the food, but they raised their prices and it's a bit unreasonable in my opinion. Just got a California burrito with a large drink and my total was over $16. I also don't know why they take their orders outside, it's not very welcoming.

The person at the cashier had a conversation with a family member or fellow employee while I waited for her to take my order. After a couple of minutes, I just started ordering my food. My order was interrupted by more conversation between the two. I ordered a double cheeseburger combo and a California Burrito. The hamburger meat was low quality. The French fries were barely cooked (very light brown). The Diet Pepsi tasted a little flat. The California Burrito was very good.

I had very high hopes of coming here as I enjoy mom and pop little places. However, my hopes were dashed with a less than pleasant experience. The food was at best "okay", the dining room on the day we visited was dirty, the staff seemed more interested in their own lives than in serving customers. Saw what appeared to be family come in and everything sprang to life for several minutes before they got back to the lackluster attitudes and care for the product they were producing. I hope this was a rare moment, but it didn't feel that way.

I had a double cheeseburger and onion rings. The burger was pretty good but the rings were of the frozen variety dropped in the fryer and came out intolerable. I threw them away! My wife had the wet burrito and she liked it. I would not recommend this place and would not eat here again before trying other establishments first!

Called in an order for a colossal burger and a hamburger (with combo) to take away. I was told to be there in 15 min, so I arrived in 10. I had a 5 min drive home, and immediately ate it. $19 and change for two burgers and an order of fries. No receipt. Payed with card. Actual Pattie’s were cold, tough like they had been sitting under a food lamp all day. The toppings were okay, and the bun was stale as can be. If I was a petty person, I’d ask for my money back. (I still ate the burger, but learned my lesson to never go back) I am not exaggerating when I say the patty was tough. It scratched my mouth when chewing. All my coworkers and friends said that Golden Ox was the best burgers in town, but in reality the microwave sandwiches you pick up at the gas station are probably better. Very disappointed.

My husband and I ordered here about a week ago. My burger was dry and had no flavor. The wet burrito was also super disappointing considering the lack of meat. It was close to $10 too! What a disappointment.

Ordered a hamburger and asked them what came on it because I hate mayonnaise. They said only lettuce, pickles, tomato, and onion. When I got home, my burger was drenched in thousand island and I lost my appetite. I had to throw it away. I can no longer trust them when I ask what the food comes with. Waste of money.

You shouldn’t have to wait for someone to unlock the front doors, take your order outside the building, provide no updates while you wait outside, and then finally provide food in hand (a couple burritos) 30 minutes later. The food is decent but the management of their drive-thru and business as a whole is abysmal. MASSIVE WAIT TIMES. The processing of orders is very inefficient and the staff does not move quick at all to expedite food in hand. Will not be back.

The staffs family members were inside the restaurant and clearly they were priority as opposed to customers. I got an order to go which wound up in the trash. It was a huge disappointment and a waste of money/time. Poor food and quality of service. I was expecting a lot more considering other restaurant locations.

If im honest today was my first time trying this out near my area not a lot of places with burritos but definitely my last time getting food from this restaurant food is too over priced for no sides I got a wet burrito double bacon cheese burger and chicken sandwich and 3 Coca Cola glass bottles all with no sides all for 54$, prices are too expensive for this restaurant needs fixing food was alright tho nothing crazy unless your really hungry 😂

They told us total was $47 when we asked for receipt, total was $53?? Instead of arguing we decided not to come here again. PLUS the burger patty was not fresh and even though it had fresh lettuce, tomato and cheese with dressing. It lacked flavor. Pay attention when you pay for your meals. Ask for receipt as soon as they give you your total. If they don't give you a receipt right away, they could be changing the price to match the change. For those paying with credit card also asked for a receipts. Make sure they charge you what they say it is.
