If you are in canton I definitely suggest stopping for the breakfast that is served all day. Great food. Great price. Along with the always friendly staff.

You definitely need to stop here and eat. Went for breakfast on a Saturday and it was excellent. Mrs. Susie was a wonderful and attentive waitress. She definitely knows her stuff. Wife had the french toast w\ eggs and bacon. I had the build your own breakfast, bacon, eggs, and biscuit w\ gravy.

Funny thing about this small town cafe, is I heard about it from "Coach Deion Prime" $anders on Instagram. Coach Prime lives in Canton and he always goes there when not in Colorado. So the 1st time I went I took my niece there on our way to Tyler TX. It was packed, not much of a wait, so when we sat down our waitress was so polite & funny. We ordered our food and before we left I had asked the lady at the cash register about Coach Prime & his IG post about the cafe and to my surprise he had told her to bless a group of customers when their bill was do. WOW. On our first visit we had breakfast, however, on my 2nd visit I had the daily special (see photo). Good food, reasonable prices & great staffing. I make it a point to stop there whenever I travel to Tyler. Maybe one day I'll run into Coach Prime (TY sir for the IG post about this home town cafe)!

My wife and I had a delicious breakfast here on a Saturday morning. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The place was busy but not noisy. BTW, at most restaurants, I want hash browns with my breakfast, but the home fries here are incredibly good

This was my first time going here. Thursday, January 25, 2024. My Dad loved the catfish, fried okra, fries, and rolls. So that's what I got. My sweet Daddy would have been 90 years young today. Sadly, he passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. My oldest daughter Amanda would always go get Dad a catfish plate. So, in Remembrance of my sweet, loving, caring Daddy, we got the catfish plate today. The food here is very good. I was there with my 2 daughters, my niece, and my youngest daughter's bf.

Wonderful local joint. Prepare to wait on a 1st Monday Sat, but it's worth it. Service was outstanding, our coffee cups were kept hot and full. Great flavor to our food, fluffy homemade biscuits were worth the stop by themselves! Pancakes were light and delicious. I would highly recommend.

Food was fantastic overall Decor was fantastic as well absolutely love the Star Trek plates on the outside walls and the breakfast was fantastic we just didn't take enough pictures hopefully there was enough use of the word fantastic.

Great experience. Even with it being trades day weekend and a Saturday morning (both very packed times for them) they managed to stay on top of our order and keep us tended to. Great food. Locals were saying it's definitely the go to place for breakfast in town. Pancakes were some of the best I've ever had

Nothing is always perfect in this world but as for everything else here it hits the spot when you are hungry for something I recommend checking it out for yourself not everyone is like me different varies for different people

The DownHome Cafe is more than just good down home cooking. It's about the people. The lunchtime crowd is filled with family and friends. The staff is very friendly and works incredibly hard during the lunch rush. The portions are large and flavorful. There are plenty of options for whatever your cravings may be. The catfish has a nice breading, and the sweet corn tastes like summer. I can't wait to try the homemade desserts!

We had cheeseburgers with fries and onion rings. You can tell the food is either frozen or prepackaged not homemade. It was good but not a place I would personally go back to for lunch. Maybe the breakfast is better. Support your small town businesses.

First off let me say that I like that this business is ran with Christian values and beliefs, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also enjoyed the Christian music playing on K-Love 94.9 That being said, the food is average and tastes just like any other "Country Cooking Cafe" out in the state of Texas. I had the Chicken Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, and Fries and it was all pretty bland and without a whole lot of flavor. I had to put a ton of salt and pepper on my potatoes just to taste something other than what I can best describe as moist mush. I ordered fries, and they came with onions minced on them which was incredibly odd as I was just expecting regular French fries. The corn bread was decent and the chicken wasn't dry, but again it didn't have much flavor. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive on the bright side, and kept up with our drinks great.

We just came in to eat. The waitress came back twice there was a problem with cooking my eggs. A couple of customers that came in after us were getting their food, while we waited. Finally, we got my daughter's to go order. 10 minutes later, I got my eggs but they were cold. I said something to the waitress but she insisted that they weren't cold. My son's food was hot though. I am so upset. I came here in good faith. When we got home, my daughter checked her to go order. She had ordered three eggs with cheese but she got two eggs. She also ordered biscuits and gravy and she only got one small biscuit. Apparently the cook didn't like cooking breakfast today. I wasted $35 in food at this restaurant.

This restaurant is the most unorganized as the staff doesn’t have an assigned areas they just wonder off. The last 2days in went in for lunch and they take your order as order the lunch special with salad and they bring the salad after I get my food. The waitress said we only have 3 ladies working as that is not my fault. If they don’t have an enough staff don't open your doors because you can’t provide good service. I want be back here again. The owner needs to step in and take care of the issue instead of just holding his hands of for people’s money.
