Is been a long time finally I'm back in NYC and I couldn't miss this place the best tacos

This little taco food joint is anything but little when it comes to flavor. But don't confuse it for that other name and style thieving taco joint across the street. There's only one Fresh Taco store in Ridgewood, and this place delivers FAST FAST FAST. The crunchy and soft, tearable bread bowls in the tostada salads are a staple in our house. Mom always gets the steak salads and I make sure to scoop up some guacamolele, and rice and beans. It is by far the most reasonably-priced food location in town. And delicious to boot. I would have never thought to put basalmic vinegar and oil with my lemons steak and jalapeños. But I do now and yum yum yum. Everything is optional and they are super helpful. So get out your CASH cause there ain't never been a credit machine at this little kitchen or with their delivery guys, but they are more than worth the trip to the atm or that candy bar purchase with extra cash at the counter of Rite Aid. Oh and don't think that because you can't understand her, that she can't understand you, the lady who answers the phone has you covered. Three thumbs up.

You need to come here for the soft chicken tacos. The place is clean and the food is fresh.They also have other stuff but the chicken taco are to die for especially with sour cream it really good.your best bet is to order the food and pick it up when you get there cause this place is always packed.

Excellent service and very quick. I felt sorry for them there was no heat and they looked like they were freezing. Overall, I've gone there for years and nobody does it better then them.

Absolutely LOVE this place!!!!!!!! Service is fast and great. Guacamole and Pico are both excellent and were GREAT on our grilled shrimp nachos with ground beef. We bought enough food for 2 days since the drive is a bit much for us. Hands-down the best Mexican food we've had in awhile. We definitely recommend Fresh Taco will be back soon!

The food is really good and the people who run the place are very nice the the prices are reasonable I eat there about 10 times a month try it's really good 👍

Been coming here for years before I moved to Philadelphia and still they have the same great taste. They steak, chicken and bean tacos are amazing. They opened in 1993 and since 1996 Everytime I was craving a taco I would come here and now even while living in Philly my go to taco place is Fresh Taco 🌮. Always fresh and very delicious.

39B is a legend 🙌, you people wouldn't know good food if it hit you in the face. You people don't understand that it's Asian people making Mexican food, thats a feat. In itself.

It's a hit or miss. when its good its great but then times its stale, or cooked more than once.

Best nachos I ever had. Been eating their food for about 20 years now. Small inside, counter top dining. But take it home and you get a feast. Eat like a king for an inconceivable inexpensive price. People work hard but are friendly. Try them and you'll be back too.

This place right here... this is the place. Been ordering from them for a decade. It isn't authentic Mexican cuisine, but that doesn't matter because it's so darn good.

Always reliable and yummy . The flavors are not to complex but that’s just texmex for ya . Always a local favorite though 😍 I usually stick to the quesadillas and burritos but the fries are sooo yummy too .

Cheap, delicious, may lead to poor health... the tortillas are fresh, just like the attitude of the people behind the counter (don't call to complain, because you will get hung up on).

Pretty good burrito; its not authentic Mexican food but the portions are large and very good prices. The tortilla was too thick and too much rice for my liking

Updated review: Very good food. Great flavor and very reasonable portions. This is my favorite taco place that I have ever ate at. Sad that their prices have almost doubled, but you cannot blame them when the goods they buy increase in price. It’s a trickle down thing and hopefully this will get better soon. Their customer service still sucks though and they aren’t very professional

Honestly from my personal experience the food here is really freaking good. Something I would definitely recommend is the S3, it taste so damn good. But yes, costumer service is a issue at times but I hadn't had any recently. Especially with delivery. Which is a big improvement. However, anyone looking into this place be sure to try it out.

Delicious and authentic lunch. Everything is fresh. My only wish is that the most expensive items can be a little less costly, as I can see myself frequently ordering more if the prices can go down. Delivery could also use some improvement as sometimes it takes too long. Other than that, everything is great.

Interesting place. Tex Mex made by Asians. Good tacos.

dont come here looking for authentic mexican food, its not the freshest or healthiest either despite the name but i love it anyway, especially the chicken and steak tacos supreme with chewy fried tortillas mmm, don't order shrimp you'll be severely disappointed. lady is sweet

This is my fifth or sixth visit to this restaurant since my best friend told me about it. My food is always hot and delicious. There is only one time that I didn’t like the guacamole that was in my burrito. When I place my order now I just omit the guacamole. Food is made to order as soon as the order is taken. I always purchase a chicken quesadilla and a chicken burrito. My experience has always been good.

If you are not planning to spend much but want medium to good food then you should definitely check this place out. Their service is quick. The chicken and steak was extra chewy, not what I like, but it wasn't bad. The spaghetti was surprisingly good. The nachos needed more cheese, but if you prefer little cheese then this is for you. Although, the food doesn't fill you up.

Food is great & prices are more then fair, however after ordering quite a bit from them, but 2/3 people taking the orders are hard to understand and can't understand me speaking clearly and as a result have gotten my order wrong more then a few times which is ridiculous.

Definitely not authenticate, but it hardly matters. If you want fresh tortillas and that flour tortilla/iceberg lettuce/tomato/cheese taco you ate as a child before you knew what Mexican food was, this is the place.

It was ok, I got the salad in the bowl that edible but it was soft instead of crunchy like I like it, the salad part was great and fresh .

I ordered from them and they told me 40 min and i said ok. 1 hour and 30 min later they came. I called twice and didn't pick up and the driver got a attitude cause he walked 4 flights and u send him back. Never again!

I truly love this place. They became a lot more friendly after seeing my face more offen. The male employee should never take orders over the phone. He was very rude. Over all I just started liking the place.

I have been eating here since 2006. They are somewhat of a neighborhood staple. I continue to order from this place despite a few things (for which I have removed 2 stars): the place isn't very clean, there have been several occasions of hair in the food, the quality of the food is poor. Main reason for continued business is that they are open very late compared to other places in the neighborhood and the food is consistent.

Cheap prices for simply made food. Occasionally a delivery will take a very long time and they will not be very helpful in solving the issue, but most of the time ordering and receiving is smooth. Their black bean soft tacos are good, although I wish they gave more hot sauce.

It's just a quick pick up your order and go. They started charging for all salsa. Which is absolutely ridiculous considering you getting tacos. It's a good quick bite. But nothing else.

Good food shady prices when ordering for delivery they will over price you and if you order food over certain prices they offer free taco or quesadilla but will never mention it to you unless you ask and will tell you too bad if you didn’t even know these people do have some good food but will nickel and dime you any chance they get make sure to always ask for there menu cause they like they alter there prices on the fly—here a update: there driver which is some old Asian guy hand me my order told me the price I handed him the money and when it came to giving me my change he short chain me then after I ask him about it he demanded I hand over a tip I ask him but you short change me and didn’t give me everything back he said so and still demanded I give him more money and if I didn’t like that call his boss or pay for Uber eats next time. Now I have no problem giving a tip but I do have a problem when you don’t want to give me my full change and still demand to give you more and be flat out rude about it but he still kept insisting to give him more money then kept being rude until I do so I gave him a tip so he could just go away but this is the last time I order delivery from these people… very disrespectful driver and a crook.

The food is delicious the only reason why I giving it a 2 stars is because the customer service is sooooooooo dammmmm rude specially the Chinese driver that makes delivery he is so rude when he was downstairs and I asked him a simple question of him coming upstairs if he was able to and he came out so rude screaming over the phone. So when I came down to get the food I asked him why he was screaming and he told me "if you dnt like it don't order anymore" he gave me the change and he got mad because I didn't tip him after giving bad and inappropriate costumer service. They should change employees!

I don't know what happened to this place but i was extremely disappointed. They've become very cheap with the serving portions and the grilled chicken don't taste like chicken. I had better grilled chicken quesadillas from the local bodega.

The food is okay but the guy who takes the orders doesn't pay a lot of attention to what is specifically being requested so you don't get charged accurately and end up with missing items.

I knew the prices were too good to be true. Pretty sure everything here is just microwaved and they had no food grading, a sign was on the window that said "Food Grading Pending" oof Food was edible though

When I first moved around here in 09 this place was great. The food was freshly made the meat was well cooked had flavor. I ordered today the food was terrible. I expect that the price would go up over the years but I didn't expect the quality of the food to go down. The price for six quesadillas $37 the meat was dry stiff and overcooked. I will never order from this place again.

They used to be good i honestly don't know what happened! I just called to order i said 10 99cent chicken burritos(aren't 99cents anymore i am aware) and two chicken quesadillas($5.25 each). They said $29 ok great. I called back to make sure to pack alot of hot sauce since I am ordering 10 99cent chicken burritos and two chicken quesadillas.She said they only have regular hot sauce in packets. I said please cancel order then she said wait hold on I hung up.she called back again and I answered she said there is hot sauce..i said please cancel she hung up. WHY SAY THERE ISN'T HOT SAUCE they are known for the schiracha hot sauce?! Now, they magically have hot sauce now WHEN I WANT TO CANCEL ORDER. Now, I'm being lied to like I'm getting free food I am paying for it why not provide it?? And once again they honestly used to be good Definitely glad I called right back about the hot sauce.I can go somewhere else with those $29 and get real food(home cooking).

I don't know where these people got the idea to start a restaurant making mexican food. It has absolutely none of the flavor of mexican food. If you want a big pile of flavorless food this is your spot. They don't even have a quality mexican style hotsauce to hide the fact that your literally eating a pile of edible matter. Please don't eat here...only if you are starving and they are giving the food away for free. DON'T EAT HERE

This place use to be so good, now everything is not so good. Very inconsistent with everything. Sometimes the food taste old, the food taste if it was reheated from the previous day.

I ordered a fish taco with no tomatoes on a soft shell, when I got home they had given me a hard shell. When I called to ask for it to be swapped they put me on hold for about 6 minutes, I hung up and called back and the women rudely said they are busy and she doesn't have a delivery man who will deliver it for free! Even though it was a fault of the store!! Horrible customer service

The food was sooo greasy, the “Burrito” wasnt even wrapped! It was just food tossed into a soft taco shell and left open smh, the nachos barely had flavor, we were not pleased, the other place HAPPY Fresh Taco has MUCH better food, tons of flavor and not greasy at all, the food is served so nice and neat and delicious and they deliver so quick! The food is always hot and freshly prepared....But This place smh..they need to take notes for real. Im Never ordering from here again tbh. Even my kid was like “mommy, this place is like the knock off version of Happy Fresh Taco” lol 😂 its true tho, it wasnt good.

One of the worst burritos I ever had. Pico de gallo was just diced tomato covered in sour cream (regular sour cream not the Mexican kind) and what was supposed to be guacamole was some sauce from a can with absolutely no spices served on shredded lettuce. Nasty! Chicken wasn't good either and the bean sauce sucked. On top of all that they gave us two large ones instead of small ones and played dumb. Never again. Funny thing is that their $1 tacos are actually good.

Ordered chicken burrito, chicken was very very dry like it old. Came in a plastic container and the burrito wasn't rolled. It was just layed in and covered with everything. Also price was higher then on their website. Definitely wont be going back

Their taxes are very high and not the same every single time. The food takes forever even for takeout forget about delivery. Just tacos took 30-40min for pick up... didn't even get enough hot sauce when asked and customer service is horrible but enjoy the small portions that won't be enough to feed a 2 year old baby!!

The customer service is disgusting! I placed my order at 7....it came at 7:45 and wasn't what I ordered. I called back and the lady said I asked for what was given which I didn't obviously. She had the nerve to tell me to go in person to bring the food back! We were back and forth on the phone for 15mins (constantly putting me on hold and picking up other calls) after all that time she said ok we are gonna to send your order. It took over an hour to get it. The food came cold and they forgot to send the free tacos. Your better off going in person...save yourself the headache!

They use a Spanish Mexican name to call for clients but their food is nothing like mexican. They serve quesadillas with no green sauce just regular Chinese hot sauce.

Fresh taco is not what it used to be. I ordered 39B jumbo grilled shrimp, chicken and beef burrito. The bread was dry and hard not soft like it once was. The rice was hard not fluffy and flavorful like it once was. The grilled beef and chicken was salty and burnt and the shrimp was small and dry and they only gave me 2. A far cry from the 5 I used to get. The only thing that was good was the chopped tomatoes and guacamole. Shame on them. I wasted my money here. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Asked for a Chicken steak and shrimp burrito, price was 10 dollars. It is 430 on a Thursday and they microwaved everything. I heard the microwave turn on three different times and I had the only order. The steak and chicken was so dry and the shrimp was like rubber. This place went down the drain

I ordered the fried shrimp nachos. When I bit in to my shrimp I put the rest down on the plate and the shrimp was dirty. The shrimps body still had the feces in it. All the shrimp were dirty. That is disgusting and unsanitary. I’m really disappointed being I’ve been ordering here for years. Never ordering again.

I always order from happy fresh taco but i by accident order here and really hate that made that mistake. One. They are extremely cheap with the chicken i had put wrap then chicken. With 2 tacos and 2 quesadilla we HAD 1 little cup of extra spice. Now i know better to never order here. Happy fresh taco actually provides sour cream and salsa on the side 4 of each and they always fill the tacos with meat.... cross the street for better tacos. Very bad service!!! I waited over 2hrs for my food. When it was delivered it was the wrong order and they over charged me! Then I had to wait for my correct order which took another hour. Then the cashier had the nerve to tell me when I send back “the side of chicken” I will get my $2 back for her mistake! You would think if you made a mistake and had me waiting for over 3hrs and I received cold food, they would accommodate me some way! But noooooo!! Don’t order here! Run!!!!!!

The delivery guys may not be human like. Don't expect them to show you any form of courtesy or politeness. Some will take hours to get to your address even if you live 10 mins away from the restaurant and won't even apologize or tell you why they're late when you ask them, they will act like you not a human. Just give them the money and send them away, that's all you will get out from them. Get some hardworking, deserving and professional delivery guys to replace the current ones.

Horrible .I've been a customer for years. I ordered 3 beef soft shell tacos ( bread is gummy)fried taco salad bowl.and not a bowl at all and seafood Paella is horrible n no scallops. They were rude as hell. I tipped driver $3 & my order was $21.00 & they kept hanging up on me 5vs... Food is NOT FRESH AT ALL 2 bad .I was told NOT TO CALL BACK REALLY!!

beware!I ordered a pound of shrimp fajitas when I got it i put on the scale... exactly half a pound lol for 34$?!!when called I asked what's up with that lady told me that I get 12 shrimp with that order and that it wasn't her i attached the pictures, overall the amount and the quality of food wasn't worth the 75$ I paid for,was way to salty,and since when guacamole is mostly tomatos?(next to it pico)

**Quick update: the cheese glob you see is literally sour. It’s expired cheese. What the actual F——!!! They didn’t care at all when I called. I asked where’s the toppings and why is everything cold. She literally told me excuses like I didn’t get “supreme nachos” (not a thing, menu doesn’t even have this) and the hard shell taco is purposely cold. Absolutely nasty establishment AVOID AVOID AVOID YOULL HAVE A BETTER TIME AT TACO BELL 😡😡 *** Place really went down in quality… I don’t even know what to say about these nachos. Lazy. Seafood burrito not even with an actual tortilla… is that pita?! No other seafood other than shrimp and still charged $13 for what should have been more variety. Black beans actually burnt if that’s even possible..? It’s a shame this spot used to be such a classic staple in the neighborhood, whoever they have cooking for them now is ruining them. I’m absolutely disappointed. I very rarely write a review - but come on, how could you not when you come home with this?
