Opinions de Honey Moon Coffee Shop Ridgewood
Completely fell in love with this place! Kind of the perfect neighborhood cafe-open all day, lots of seating, charming interior and decor around every corner. And good food! They have events in the evening which I haven’t checked out yet but follow them on instagram! Dances and art nights etc. They also are associated-or the owners also own? -a farm upstate so all around an amazing place. Support small business! Can’t say enough, really love this place.
A great place to get an acai bowl that is very well served with toppings. I came the other night for a chill happy hour and laptop afternoon and the prices are unbeatable. Staff is very attentive as well. I've found my new go-to welcoming spot wether I want to hang with friends or by myself.
Totally cool atmosphere really chill, hip vibe. Varied menu for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Must try the brownie for dessert… Crispy outside and chewy inside. And I love the lion’s milk on an ice cold snowy day. Bathroom is a must see with live jungly plants and red toilet seat!
Amazing food with plant based options on deck, good energy and service! This is my neighborhood spot I’ve hosted events here and love the community it invites. My go to place for doing work, going on dates / meetings and to chill for comfort. 🫶🪿🫧🧘♀️🪽
I come to feel love and magic. This place restores my faith in the possibility of small business with intention and integrity. Thanks ahmed for the love, the cacao, the beautiful space, and epic food!
delicious, great vibe. Enjoyed the meatball wrap, Mother cacao beverage and croissant french toast
great healthy option to either dine, have lunch or breakfast. The smoothies are real good too!
Best diner in New York! The space is super welcoming, colorful gorgeous decoration and the friendliest staff. The owners and chef are internationally recognized creative lovely people. The diner has become a neighborhood cafe where locals meet and build community. I came across lovely jazz music several times I visited. The food is an amazing creative fusion of Middle Eastern, and vegan cuisine some reinterpreted by local latino cooks. The chef sources meats and veggies locally, selectively and organically for a big part. The baristas are all talented artists, kindest people. I recommend the new chicken burger and the menemen shakshouka for breakfast! Everything is delicious I am sure, can’t wait to try it all!
just go and order Menemen and Turkish sausage eggs! Plates are big enough!!! Would recommend!!!! Also drink tea with them :)
Fun place. Eclectic and excellent food. Vegan friendly. Check out the bathroom. Great service and setup.
Incredible food, the room is bright and airy, the staff are very professional. Had a lovely visit and the manager took special care of us. A local gem, will be patronizing this establishment for years to come!
Delicious food, delicious coffee. Service was fast, staff were friendly. Lots of vegetarian options. Relaxing atmosphere. Great place to stop for a lovely lunch.
To be honest the best breakfast I had so far. If you have kids that love pancakes!!! That’s your place. So soft and the flavour I can’t describe it. You gotta try them.
My favorite local cafe and restaurant!! Great fresh food and yummy juices. Always fostering a sense of community- it’s a wonderful place to sit and work, catch up with a friend, or meet new people! The owner was also super kind and service is great. Im gluten free and vegetarian and there are plenty of options for various dietary restrictions! Highly recommend
I love this place! Love it! It’s become my weekly ritual to stop in for the Dreamer’s Mystery and the feta börek. The staff is always so friendly - ever since one, the drinks are great, and it’s such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. I grew up in the area, so supporting amazing small businesses blooming here means a lot and Abracadabra is definitely one of them. I love the atmosphere, and it’s so nice to see how much the neighborhood loves it too.
The ambiance here is only outshined by the flavor and love in every morsel served. What a delicious experience for the senses. Kind staff, great music, and incredible food!!! From savory to sweet they have all the bases covered. Their extensive menu can’t be beat for a healthy treat. Also, don’t sleep on the Nutella puffs!! 11/10 Will definitely return!
Excellent coffee and a cute collection of books. charming storefront too.
Coffee was bold and smooth!! Love the granola bar!! Not too sweet with lots of nuts and seeds !! Perfect morning combo !!
Giving 5 stars now! Ceremonial matcha is there :) Great cafe with books and a relaxing atmosphere. I come here to read or check out books. I usually order tea, I wish they had ceremonial grade matcha. Last time I ordered matcha it didn’t taste quality for the price charged.
best coffee, best people! really nice place to sit with friends and/or peruse amazing record and book selections :) also throws super cool events!
Best coffee shop around. cool events, great books, friendly staff, and awesome patrons. my go to in the area !
Best coffee shop in NYC hands down. stellar events, amazing staff, delicious drinks & pastries. plus a well stocked library and plenty of well lit space. 10/10
the food is not very good, and the coffee is just alright, but the baristas rock, and the location is lovely. my go to spot when i just want to read, relax and unwind.
Cute place with surprisingly many tables & good selection of used books. Matcha was solid. Nothing stood out from the service. What more can you ask for? I enjoyed spending my afternoon here, working and browsing the books.
Stopped by Honey Moon Coffee and had an iced oat milk latte with lavender—it was excellent! The vibe there is relaxed but still upbeat, the decor is cool and they play good music. The owners & staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the place feel really inviting. I liked my coffee so much I grabbed a couple bags of beans to take home. If I lived closer, I’d definitely be a regular. Highly recommend checking this place out!
Really comfortable atmosphere, very laid back. You don’t feel like you have to be “cool” to fit in. Service is super friendly. Coffee is delicious. You can tell they put a lot of heart and intention into their sourcing of coffee beans.
The best staff and coffee in Ridgewood. Always welcoming and friendly. The music is always good and the coffee is even better. And they’re open later than most cafes which is great for me! Julia, Sam, Abhjieet, Sarah, and Ryan are the best… and they’re all hot too.
The latte was really good and rich! The book selection is interesting and there is always something you’ve never seen before. The pastries are delicious, I tried the rosemary biscuit today and it was so good! They will warm it up for you. They also have cute postcards and shirt with a design of the store for sale.
Stopped by Honey Moon on a day off while exploring the neighborhood. Ordered an iced latte and it was excellent—smooth, creamy, and flavorful without any bitterness. The barista was friendly and quick, and the space was calm and quiet. Personally, the vibe felt more like a grab-and-go spot than a place to hang out, but definitely worth it for a well-made coffee.
Been here ~8 times. First 7 visits: 5/5 Stars - great service, relaxing atmosphere and vibes 8th Visit: 0/5 stars [on March 10th around 1:30pm] Barrista at the time was a bit cold (thats totally fine, I don't expect or need someone to smile or be pleasant especially if they've been having a hard day for whatever reason). What wasn't okay was the barista proceeded to have a conversation with a patron where when asked about laptops he said how much he hated having/seeing them and they proceeded to continue on a conversation about this. I have nothing against ones personal views on this matter, coffee shops actively adopting policies to limit this or having such a discussion privately. Totally understandable However, when the store is filled with patrons working on laptops (or even if it was just one) at that given moment, I do think its incredibly unprofessional for a member of staff to use words to antagonize patrons in a public setting to the extent that it was done . Its just a super uncomfortable feeling to hear how despised your presence is. Because of this I just left the store after ordering my drink rather than stay to work. And I'm unsure if I'll feel comfortable coming back regardless of who is working. I sincerely hope some training/discussion is had around this and how its probably not appropriate for staff to discuss this publicly.
Often it is busy here until the evenings. The baristas swiftly prepare beverages but are diligent in the details, such as whisking the matcha. The staff here keep the space clean and orderly. I like the service here, it is lowkey and a nice place to spend time in. The cons: pastries are ok, have received a few time stale ones. Finding a seat here to relax for a few mins, or to have a quick coffee chat, is often unlikely as many people are posted here browsing on their laptops. The coffee here is a bit pricey and the space and vibe is beautiful, so doing a coffee take-away is a bit disappointing. Outdoor seating is available but unappealing in the colder months.
Let’s talk about the SYRUP—it’s overdue for retirement. It tastes old, with an aftertaste like old oil, and it completely ruined my oat latte. Such a shame, because the COFFEE ITSELF IS AMAZING! I still love this spot. The oat lattes (minus the syrup situation) are like sipping a warm hug, and the atmosphere is top-tier—the kind of place where you can relax, read a book, or pretend to work on your laptop. Plus, it’s super close to my place, which is a big win. Dear coffee shop crew, let’s give that syrup bottle the send-off it deserves and bring in some fresh flavor magic. I’ll definitely be back, but next time, I’m skipping the syrup.
i had high expectations for this place. we ordered counter service and i ordered a dirty chai and my partner ordered the wake me up smoothie. my chai tasted like watery spices. i didn’t taste espresso or chai flavor at all. i didn’t drink it. my partner enjoyed the smoothie but didn’t taste any coffee which was supposed to be the main ingredient. he got the borek sandwich and loved it. i got the goat cheese and sun dried tomato sandwich. it was fine but there was nearly no pomegranate molasses and the sandwich was extremely over priced for what it was. overall, a very disappointing and over priced experience.
I’m sure this spot has great books but it’s impossible to know because seats with customers are placed right in front of the bookshelf. I understand they’re trying to make up for limited space but it’s profoundly awkward trying to search for a book, while you’re hovering directly in front of someone. Feels like an invasion of privacy. Otherwise, the coffee was great.
I’ve been supporting this places since the early days back when they only had one location. I went with my mom last week and we enjoyed our food but when I went to buy dessert for us the front hipster bar taker or whatever charged me $13 for a banana bread. I was able to tell her and she said she thought I got the power bar which I understood but looking at the menu there is no power bar for 13 bucks ! Today For my company lunch I just requested a pic up order and do not see any protein bar for $13 bucks they are all 6$. This place will eventually fall very dissapoinying after spending $60 plus and tipping I can tell she did not care. The food is good but will pivot else where 😒
Want to like this place more but been here enough times and my opinion hasn’t really changed. Decent coffee, mid pastries, cool book section! Generally uninviting atmosphere. Better coffee in area for better prices/ambiance
I was so excited when they were getting ready to open this place but have experienced nothing but disappointment. Couldn’t even make it to the counter the first time I went. It was $4 for a ‘large’ drip coffee. See attached picture. The coffee itself is good but not really worth it. Couldn’t pay with cash. I had planned to recommend a local spot less than 2 blocks away that sold an actual large size coffee for $.50 cheaper but it closed less than two weeks after this place opened. Honestly not worth the money. Go to one of the many local bodegas instead.
Terrible experience. I received the wrong order and when I called the restaurant, the person who answered was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of apologizing or fixing their mistake, she tried to guilt-trip me and basically told me to call Uber Eats myself because she “can’t help.” Absolutely unacceptable attitude. If this is how they treat customers when they make a mistake, I’ll never order from here again. I’m attaching pictures of what I ordered versus what I actually received — this is insane.
The service I received was great, and the food was delicious and well-prepared. However, I did notice that some employees seemed to be poorly treated by management, which was concerning. I hope the team is supported better in the future.
Stopped in to grab a decaf cortado about 30 minutes before closing and was spoken to as if I’d done something wrong. I’ve been to plenty of coffee shops and have never heard of a policy where espresso isn’t served that close to closing time. Not sure if it had anything to do with race, but as a minority, I’ve now had two visits where I was made to feel unwelcome—despite being ready to pay $7 for a drink. Not sure if there’s been a change in management, but I hope to see more consistency and basic courtesy moving forward.
