Very unique place to get drinks and hang with friends at!! Lots of things to keep you entertained - and decently priced high quality cocktails too!
Love this place a real gem. True amazing original local spot for me . I feel very free there. Love the ownership and the crowd. Thank you the keep!!!
Not one can't get bored with the unique & fun decor @ this place. A super cool bar worth to visit in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Dj & music are lit. Bartenders cool/ super friendly serving great drinks. Love it!
Best bar in BK. Wednesday nights are Jazz Night- highly recommend.
Probably my favorite bar in all of Brooklyn. Fun atmosphere, cheap drinks, eclectic decor and live jazz on Wednesdays..... a nice patio for when the weather is nice too. Staff is friendly and efficient.
Amazing vibes, like a rare discovery every time! Great neighborhood bar, with an International & eclectic crowd, plus music of many styles to match.
Really awesome local feeling pub with lots of interesting decorations. There is live music during certain nights of the evening. It is cash only. Really cool vibe
Great atmosphere, drinks and musuc! It's perfect place to go on Friday, have a drink and listen to our local DJ's live performance! Beautiful place! 🎧🍸🎼👌
engaging bar tender, creative and yummy cocktails, super weird and amazing decor. when we went DJ Phonograph MAC was spinning. It was awesome!
Always a good time here. They get an eclectic selection of djs and have an even more eclectic ambiance with cool antiques all over the place. Also the drink prices are super reasonable and the staff and crowd are usually very friendly
It’s a vibe. Don’t sleep on this place; the ambiance is eclectic, the music and sound system are top notch and the string drinks are well-priced. Just don’t forget to bring cash.
My FAVORITE bar in all of NYC. I’ve lived in NY for almost 20 years and been to countless bars; this one is my favorite. The atmosphere, the vibes, the drinks; top notch. Recommend drinks; - Abeja - The Maple - Pomegranate
A lil cozy nook for chill vibes, indie music, & art. Bar is cash only. I wish I lived closer so I can hang out there more, but it's great to appreciate something when you allow time for self-reflection on why you enjoy it. This is a place I hope stays open in the long-run <3
Really cool and interesting place with very friendly servers and bartenders. Loved the cocktails and the simple beer options are good. The place to just go and have a great time. I regret not finding this place out before.
It's a beautiful space, very eclectic. It was my first time there, I would definitely go back of I lived closer. The bartender was excellent he handles our huge party very well.
A cozy eclectic space that provides amazing atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks, and even some snacks if you're peckish. I don't always make it this deep into Ridgewood, but when I do the Keep is a go-to spot, especially when entertaining out of town guests.
Love this bar ! The interior is so interesting! The drinks are fairly priced. And I love it when they have a dj there ! Wish I lived closer to visit more often!!
Wonderful bar! The place is huge and its decorated with a funky assortment of antiques. Friendly staff. They have live music but I haven't been able to check that out yet.
This place must have taken decades to decorate. Friendliest bear I've ever seen. Great lounge to hang out and have a drink. Smoking out back. This place makes me want to put on a fur coat.
Love this bar! The bartender Cece is the best part. I recommend going on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. They have events on Tuesdays and you'll meet the lovely bartender. Also, try the cocktails. 🙂
The Keep feels like your neighborhood bar no matter where you live. It's a good spot to check out live music and hear some great DJ's or simply to hang out with some friends (grab a spot in the back and you won't have to compete with the music to be heard). The décor is eclectic - lovingly curated and not just a bunch of old furniture strewn about to make the place "look cool". You can bring your parents here, you can roll up with a date and you definitively want bring that no-it-all acquaintance who thinks they know all the best spots.
Don't get mad come and get glad at this dim light setting, awesome DJ beats, lounge with antiques, comfy couches, drinks galore and more! Enjoy your time at this chill spot. A little getaway from it all. It's close to Taco trucks, Pizza spots, Vape/Smoke shops, & Wine & Liquor spots just two blocks away. See y'all there!
I came here before a show at the mirage. Very cool bar serving deliciously and artistically made cocktails. Interesting decor, good music, relaxed setting. Cash only, there is an ATM on-site.
I really enjoy this place, they have amazing live music, nice jazz nights on Wednesdays and Balkan music on Thursday nights. The place itself is very unique. Reminds you of an antique store with all the little things it has. Definitely a great place if you are in a mood for nice live music and don’t want to go broke doing it.
Went here with a couple of friends and my fiancé recently, bar tender andi is awesome and knew exactly what type of drink we were looking for, there was a lot of people there and the drinks served were cold and perfect, props to her (no pun intended) she's a KEEP-er 😁
LOVE... LOVE.... LOVE this BAR!! An amazing experience! Beautiful antiques and curiosities everywhere to keep your eyes entertained..... and super cocktails and delicious cold beers on the cheap to keep your thirst quenched! Has a fantastic comfortable friendly vibe. The owners, Stephanie and Diego, make you feel like family and really take good care of you! Great to lounge around in such a spacious yet cozy Castle Keep! I wish I could live there! :)
Love this place, Sunday and Wednesday nights are by far my favorite. Sunday has a live band, burlesque show, and also an open mic blended together beautifully throughout the night. Wednesday is their live Jazz night. They also have an amazing grilled cheese pop up in the back, The Grilled Cheese Incident. They even had a vegan and gluten free grilled cheese which was out of this world. Highly recommend
This is such a unique bar! The atmosphere is exciting and creative, but it is a safe, inviting place for newcomers. The drinks are good and the staff is friendly. Check out their website & social media for different events throughout the week and you may get lucky and see some cool performers!
Totally amazing spot! They don’t have an actual drink menu but instead ask what kind of alcohol you like and then if you want a drink that’s more like a martini/old fashion (aka strong) or if you want something a little lighter and the bartender makes you a special drink based on that info. I ended up with an amazing tequila ginger drink. I’ll definitely be returning and bringing more friends!
AMAZING VIBES. Went randomly on a Monday and they were doing open mic which was AMAZING! Very dope spot it’s low key and the people that go here are friendly the staff is wonderful. Love the special light effects they have. Will be coming back with the friends that I met there. I love that they support local artist.
Loved this place. The bartender was amazing, she really knew what she was doing, our cocktails were spot on. Very fun decor, great live music and overall very comfortable. I left my phone on the seat, came back 20 mins later and it was still there. They were super friendly about it too. Thanks guy, we'll be back!
Nice interior, nice music. Drink prices were surprisingly reasonable. Bring cash!

They had live music and a special that I loved. $6 for a beer and a shot. Well liquor —ofcourse and beer was different but the seating and staff is also a bonus. Its one of those places that offer a unique environment. Once I was there I didn't want to leave. So much to look at. There are also surprises there for the curious.
Fun place to visit. The Keep has a cute ambience and even has tables outside. The outside seating is awesome allowing you to get fresh air on cool nights and still vibe with the bar crowd. You're also able to get some great Asain cuisine at the restaurant next to the bar and bring it inside the bar to eat.
Great bar! Very authentic Brooklyn ambience, good and reasonable drinks with great service. Nice and intimate dance floor downstairs. Great DJ, with really cool music. Overall, one of the best, and not too crowded either!
Great atmosphere in this bar. Dark lighting and some bizarre decorations make this place very atmospheric and a really cool place to grab a drink and listen to some live music. Cash only!
So friendly, amazing atmosphere, great drinks.
Quirky little place full of details - everywhere you look there's something worth seeing. Music has been great everytime, and the crowd fun an engaging. Staff is awesome. If you like Barbés you'll like this place - it's like a less jazzsnob version of it, but also its own thing. Would definitely love to become a regular here!
From the moment I first set foot in this establishment a couple of years ago, I knew that the Keep in Ridgewood, Queens, is more than just a bar—it’s a local cultural institution that feels destined for legendary status. From the moment you walk in, the warmth and energy are infectious, thanks to an incredible team. Diego, Aiden, Luke, Andy, and Jake are the heart of the place—personable, entertaining, and always making you feel right at home. Their genuine charm and humor turn every visit into an experience you’ll want to repeat. The musical lineup is just as captivating, showcasing an eclectic mix of talent that keeps things fresh and exciting. It’s the kind of spot where you can stumble upon an unforgettable performance, making it a cornerstone of Ridgewood’s creative scene. With its unmatched hospitality and vibrant atmosphere, The Keep has cemented its place as a community hub and a beacon of culture in the neighborhood. It’s not just a bar—it’s a place where stories are made, and it’s well on its way to becoming a legend.
Very cool atmosphere, great music, and always friendly people you can chat with. Very good service and a very nice bartender.
This place is a unique treasure, whimsical yet gritty, authentically Brooklyn(yes I know it’s technically in Ridgewood). The Keep owes its marvelous and hip ambiance to a combination of fantastic fresh cocktails, cohesively curated Decors, kitsch in all the right ways, wonderful staff, and great events.
When the music is good, it's awesome. When the music is bad, it's still pretty awesome. Great backyard with a fire pit!
This is the cutest spot! Bartenders were great and the cocktails were delicious (we tried a few). The night I went they had a jazz band who were absolutely fantastic. This is my new fave place, definitely will be coming back. The vibe is great, and before they had the live band, the music they played was great too. Really warm and cosy and fun.
Very cool, relaxed vibe. Music got a lot louder around 10:30 on a Saturday. Really cool drinks and nice staff. Great hangout bar!
So magically decorated this space feels like you’re entering a dream. They also have a good south side on the menu so this is a must-visit for me
Without a doubt the coolest bar of my trip so far. Gothic, Rococo, cabinet of curiosities vibes... Really stylish. Well-crafted cocktails, over the top, tasty, fair prices, friendly staff. Cool music, though slightly at odds with the setting, it was an electro mix, pretty cool but unexpected. Spotless, well-maintained, truly unique. Excellent experience. Highly recommended.
Very quirky and cool cash-only bar. Best when they have live music. Pop in and see what the vibe is, it varies a lot but when it's good it's really good. I like to take out of towners here.
Oh, where do I even start with The Keep? This hidden gem in Ridgewood feels like stepping into a living museum of Victorian elegance—every corner bursts with intricate details that make you want to linger and explore. From the antique chandeliers dripping with crystal to the ornate wallpaper and vintage curios tucked into shadowy nooks, it's like the owners curated a time capsule of old-world charm just for you. I could have spent the entire evening just wandering the space, admiring the thoughtful touches that turn a simple bar into an immersive experience.c6f112 The people here? Absolute angels. The bartenders are not just pros at mixing killer cocktails (their seasonal gin fizz was a revelation—herbal, effervescent, and perfectly balanced), but they're genuinely warm and attentive, chatting with you like old friends without ever rushing. The crowd has that effortless cool vibe—diverse, friendly folks who strike up conversations over shared sips, making it feel like you've stumbled into the best neighborhood secret in Queens. And the live music? Pure magic. We caught a sultry jazz set on a Wednesday night, with the saxophonist's notes weaving through the room like silk. The intimate stage setup means you're not just watching—you're part of it, the melodies bouncing off those detailed walls in the coziest way imaginable.5c327c It's the kind of spot where time slips away, and suddenly it's last call, but you don't want to leave. If you're craving a place that's equal parts art installation, social haven, and sonic escape, run (don't walk) to The Keep. It's not just a venue; it's an event every time. Can't wait to go back—highly recommend for date nights, solo vibes, or rallying the crew for an unforgettable evening. Cheers to more nights like this! 🎷🍸
Beautiful decor. As others have stated, the aesthetic alone makes this bar worth a visit. I had The Maple, a maple drink with pear, bourbon, and cinnamon. It was delicious. Me and my significant other visited right before the pandemic and were so excited to be back. We hope to return again soon, before the fall weather is over. Front & back seating is available.
Lovely place, a local dive bar as supposed to be in far-far away Brooklyn. Except for prices. Prices as for the hipsters-williamsburg places. The place is cash only with venmo and apple-pay exceptions. The place is offering lovely sidewalk and yard outside sitting, also live music. After all, nice place to be, and beer. Who cares about beer prices as long as beer is cold?
Unique and eclectic venue with decor you can stare at for days. It’s quiet entertaining visually, even if there are one too many jesus pieces. I didn’t have a drink but the menu looked scrumptious. That particular night there was reggaeton playing but I was told during the week most nights are Jazz nights. I plan on visiting again soon!
Love this place. Misha is an incredible bar tender, making all patrons feel super welcome and at home. The cocktails are fantastic and the decor is eclectic, engaging, beautiful, haphazard yet curated, and there's tons of comfy seating. Can't rave enough about Misha! Food is also high quality, affordable, and delicious. Drinking here is super affordable too - tons of regulars, but welcoming space.
Great place to hang out with friends and family too!!
Great neighborhood bar, only reason for 4 stars is because they only accept cash. Other than that, it has amazing decor, great ppl to mingle with(but usually it's groups staying within themselves), everyone's friendly. The redhead, female bartender on Friday nights makes an amazing The Ceci Special Mixed drink, which is the main reason I enjoy The Keep...the Ceci Special, not the bartender lol. Although she is an amazing bartender, genuinely demure(humble?) and friendly....I would've like to have spoken to her, she's a gorgeous woman, and it seems inside, as well. Alas, I was a coward lol, but mostly didnt want to come off as another guy hitting in a beautiful bartender. Rant aside lol. Awesome place, easy going atmosphere, def check it out.
I came here for a NYE party back in 2014 going into 2015 and just recall being worried about the risk of a fire hazard. The Ghost Ship warehouse fire occurred a year later and confirmed my fears of claustrophobia and too many easily combustible objects in this type of setting.
Cool bar to grab a quick beer in Bushwick before checking out the murals. The Keep looks like an antique store, full of interesting stuff to look at. The staff is welcoming and fun to talk to.
WoW is what i have to say about this place, i was there last night and it was amazing. The decoration of this place will blow your mind. Friendly staff and very good selection of wine. Need to go back to try the food.
I have always loved the keep. Great service great food. I was a little shocked today though, I ordered the clam appetizer. And I always asked for bread and butter because I dip it in the sauce. I had a five dollar additional charge for a little tiny loaf of bread. They have never charged for bread.
This place is awesome! Always good music, good drinks, and it has a unique interior decoration. It is not uptight at all, it's the complete opposite, super chill and let's back neighborhood bar.
Pretty cool decor and very friendly service, though when we went (granted, fairly early on a Sunday) it was entirely empty, and the music wasn't really my thing.
Very cool bar with a great vibe. Nice Lil outdoor patio area as well. The place is very eclectic with lots of random but beautiful vintage pieces and stained glass windows hung around. The smell of Palo Santo helps set the witchy, gypsy mood of the place. The only tough thing here is that the bar is Cash only and doesn't offer much space for ordering a drink when a few people have posted up in the few available seats. There is an ATM in the back with a fair price to withdraw if you come carrying plastic. I'd definitely consider coming again, especially before heading to one of the nearby clubs for the evening.
FUN LITTLE LOUNGE/BAR. LOTS OF INTERESTING THINGS TO SEE INSIDE. I LIKE THAT THEY HAVE A FIREPIT IN THE BACKYARD TO KEEP FOLKS WARM WHEN THEY COME OUT THERE TO DRINK AND TALK. IT'S ALSO A CONVENIENT LOCATION TO SMOKE WITHOUT LEAVING THE FUN. THE DJ HAD FUN MUSIC ON THROUGHOUT MOST OF THE NIGHT BUT LATE NIGHT/EARLY MORNING, IT WAS AWFUL REPETITIVE MUSIC THAT GAVE ME A HEADACHE. THERE'S A TINY LIL DANCE FLOOR THAT CAN HOLD ABOUT 4 PEOPLE COMFORTABLY OR 4 COUPLES SLOW DANCING CLOSER TOGETHER.
Cash only spot with an eclectic interior that lends itself to be kind of hard to navigate because it’s so dense. Decent drinks at the bar and a nice outdoor area with a fire pit. Good place to make a stop at on an evening out in the area.
Super chill place, I went for live jazz music on Wednesday night. The set started at 10:30 pm. They even did open mic for anyone who wants to perform or sing which I realize there were many artists among the audience. Decent drink menu, cash only. No food, but was told that they ll bring food in coming weeks. Plenty of seating options including an outside back yard. The interior decor is jaw dropping, random items with a theme rich in Mexican / Catholic culture. No reservations, no coverage.
This place is a blast from the past. Fun Eye-Spy spot. Well balanced cocktails. Literal mouse in the couch we tried to sit on. Both bartender and mouse were friendly.
Dreamy, fun and visually enchanting in a surprising way (a bicycle hanging off the ceiling, a James Dean phonebooth, stained glass windows...) and the backyard enlivened by plants was a delight, but the drinks were watered-down (3 whiskey & soda that usually would make me feel nicely buzzed were limp and lackluster, and my wife's Manhattan was made with less than half of the whiskey required, no bitter and overpriced (more than $20)
This place is full of old junk. And that’s just the clientele. The decor is immaculate, very ispy haunted castle, but the service and patronage were stuffy. The drinks were well prepared, if a bit basic.
Tried going for the food for a bite before a show nearby based on the pictures and the online menu....says they open at 4...we get there and told it's not open until 6....then we go back at 6 hungry and ready for the food, and they say they don't serve food, even though there's an online menu with pictures of food. We left. Crazy confusion.
Music and drinks can be better *NO FOOD SERVED* that been said, They need a water cooler or lemon water jug free to customers like all quality bars have.... Too many fights arise due to idiots not having access to water (H2O saves lives)... !!!! And also they need a speaker added to the patio... just cause if you step out to smoke... you basically don't get to hear the music and that's a bummer!!!! There also should be a music request form... sometimes the music is awful and it makes you want to leave and go to the next bar... FYI only 2 blocks away
BEWARE OF OPEN FLAMES! I sat down on a bench at this bar, unaware that candles had been negligently placed in a nook in the wall directly behind me. Within seconds, I smelled burning hair and heard people screaming—my hair was on fire. I managed to extinguish it with my hands, but the damage was done. Shockingly, the DJ mentioned that this wasn’t the first time this had happened. Despite this, no staff members checked on me, offered any assistance, or even acknowledged the incident. Not even a complimentary drink was offered as a gesture of concern. My hair is incredibly important to me, and now I have to spend over $300 on a curly cut to fix the damage. Everyone in the bar saw what happened, yet the staff showed zero accountability. I will never return and am disgusted by how they handled the situation.
Used to like this place but had a very disappointing experience last night. The bar was half empty but my friends and I were turned away for having too many guys in our group. For being a Burning-Man themed bar, it's very disappointing they don't respect the values of the community. Literally the first principle is "Radical Inclusion." I can imagine imagine the owner making some excuse that, "All the other bars in the area have a similar door policy," but we literally walked right into to two other bars around the corner with friendlier staff and better vibes. RIP to the Keep.
