Bellissimo… cibo ottimo, servizio impeccabile, location curata, musica di sottofondo d’autore, carta vini eccellente. Che dire è stata una cena favolosa con i ragazzi che ci hanno servito e rallegrato la serata, il cibo era curato in ogni dettaglio, vini ottimi spiegati accuratamente da chi si vede che ha amore e passione in quello che fa. Prezzo onesto per la qualità e servizio. Complimenti davvero a tutti .

Solitamente faccio fatica a dare 5 stelle alla prima esperienza , ma questo è il ristorante migliore che ho trovato in paese e se lo merita. Il cibo è molto curato e i piatti ben preparati, mangiare sulla terrazza e senza dubbio un plus che consente di vedere l’intera vallata e il paese incastrato sulla montagna. Anche la scelta dei vini è interessante. Sicuramente consigliato!

Fuori Rotta ended up being one of our favorite meals in Cinque Terre. The food is thoughtful, refined, and clearly made for diners who appreciate real craft—not just tourists passing through. The onion appetizer was the standout dish of the night: surprising, complex, and incredibly well executed. The venison ravioli was rich and beautifully balanced, and both mains—the fish and the chicken—were cooked perfectly with clean, focused flavors. Service was warm, the setting relaxed but elevated, and the whole experience felt genuinely memorable. Highly recommend.

This is hands down the best restaurant in Riomaggiore. It’s absolutely baffling to see a 4.2 star overall review. This is the only fine dining experience you’ll get in town and it is fantastic. Amazing gluten free options.

Finally a good place in cinque terre that knows how to cook fish properly in cinque terre. The chef definately spent a good amount of time trying different combination of the ingredients, the meal was very balanced. Fresh and high quality olive oil makes such a great difference with good bread. I had the Cipolla in 4 cotture, spuma di patate, aglio nero e liquirzia. Onion was cooked to fine caramelization, earthy flavor and very mild spices to compliment the onion sweetness, and on top of that is the potato foam that mixes everything together. Very hearty. Plate was cleaned up with bread. I enjoyed my dinner, but if I go again and have more time I would try the chef's menu.

We had two fabulous dinners here during our recent stay in Riomaggiore. They have a great wine list and the food was fantastic. They also have the best view! They are up the hill so you are aware from all the crowds.

Delightful place to dine, esp. with good weather seated outdoors. The wine list was relatively expansive and well edited. Food options were few but also very well chosen and presented. We had two bottles of wine with bread, oil, and small plates. We had raviolis, the mutton, and fish steak / filet. Worth a visit.

This place had some of the most amazing food my wife and I have had on our honeymoon in Italy. The service was somewhat slow, but why would you want to speed up a dinner with an incredible view? It’s a place where the people appear to take real pride in what they make. The menu changes with the season (as it should), but if you have a chance to taste the onion cooked 4 ways with black garlic and licorice, do not avoid it!

We stumbled upon Fuori Rotta late one evening, just before closing, and they still went out of their way to accommodate us. The food was excellent, the best meal of our trip. The staff were kind and attentive, and didn’t rush us at all even though it was late. If you’re in Riomaggiore, this spot is definitely worth a visit for both the food and the warm service.

Exceptional. Our meal at Fuori Rotta was the highlight of Cinque Terre trip. Every plate was incredible. I highly recommend the Onion Four Ways. My partner and I each had 3 courses, shared a bottled of wine and dessert. The view sets the perfect tone for a romantic evening. So far the best meal we have had. We left very satisfied. Staff was very attentive and hospitable. Great wine recommendation. Hard to describe this lovely experience in so few words!

The chef knows how to combine the typical Italian cuisine and local ingredients to a harmonic menu that is rich in flavours and shines in simplicity. Ero molto combattuta a dare una valutazione a questo posto. Sicuramente è una buona idea e mettono molto impegno nel realizzarla. Ma c’è qualcosa che non funziona ancora. Sono sicura che è questione di tempo e esperienza ma andrà migliorando. Si tratta di un ristorante di degustazione più che solito posto per mangiare qualcosa. Hanno prodotti locali. Per esempio l’olio e il pane squisiti. Ottimo vino locale. Ho scelto di rimanere sul pesce. Antipasto direi buono. Nel primo direi che c’era qualcosa che non andava. Non so se la temperatura della pietanza. Comunque non mi ha fatto impazzire. Ho finito con il dolce per consolarmi. Ovviamente gusti culinari sono molto soggettivi e con le pietanze così raffinate si rischia molto di più che con i soliti piatti.

Locale carino nel centro di Riomaggiore. Cibo ottimo e cameriere molto disponibile. La stella mancante è dovuta alla ridotta dimensione dell’antipasto non commisurata al prezzo. Ve lo consiglio per un pranzo rilassante!

Complice le vacanze alle Cinque Terre, per l'ultima cena abbiamo scelto di prenotare un tavolo da Fuori Rotta, ristorante che offre una propria visione dei prodotti locali, rivisitando e destrutturando forma e contrasto. Prenotazione molto agevole dal proprio sito, dove è possibile scaricare il menù completo e quello degustazione. Arrivati sul posto, accolti dallo staff di sala, abbiamo optato per il menù degustazione, formula che prediligo in una tipologia simile di ristorante. Ad accompagnare la cena ci viene proposta un'ottima bottiglia di un'azienda locale (si veda la foto): una buona combinazione di gusto e profumi. La carta dei vini è piuttosto corposa e comprende davvero un'ampia scelta. La degustazione prevede quattro portate di cui due antipasti, un primo, un secondo e un dolce (quest'ultimo a scelta del cliente). Ogni piatto ha una propria struttura, ben caratterizzata ma sempre equilibrata. Peccato che il clima caldo di questi giorni, scomponga il sottile equilibrio di alcune preparazioni. Lo staff è molto attento nel servizio, aperto al confronto col cliente e solerte nello svolgimento del proprio lavoro. Rapporto qualità prezzo, davvero molto buono considerato il livello di ristorazione proposto. Non faccio fatica a considerare il Fuori Rotta, una delle migliori proposte di fascia alta del territorio delle Cinque Terre.

A Hidden Gem with Inventive Cuisine and Thoughtful Pairings This unassuming restaurant was a delightful surprise tucked among more tourist-driven options. The tasting menu was creative, flavorful, and well-paced, with thoughtful wine pairings curated by Davide, the owner and sommelier. His passion for introducing diners to orange wines and regional specialties like Apote and Sciacchetrà added depth to the experience. The meal opened with a trio of amuse-bouches: fish on a puffed cracker, a delicate potato croquette, and a tomato soup with croutons reduction. A standout early course was the braised pork neck with cherry-port compote — savory, tender, and perfectly balanced with sweet, jammy notes. It was easily the dish of the night. Next came fusilli with red and green vegetable purées, likely peppers and tomatoes, unexpectedly topped with sour cream. It was seasoned with Mediterranean spices and paired beautifully with the first orange wine. A brief power outage mid-meal didn’t disrupt the service; the staff remained gracious, offering extra pours while we waited. The main course was a vegetable Wellington, similar to ratatouille in puff pastry. It was good, though not as exciting as the earlier courses. Dessert was a chocolate mousse with pistachio and hazelnut crumble, punctuated by apricot sauce. The final “thank you” bites — almond, chocolate hazelnut, and meringue cookies — echoed the opening amuse and ended the meal with charm. An excellent and surprisingly refined dinner. Highly recommended for those looking to experience creative cooking and warm, knowledgeable hospitality in Riomaggiore

Premetto che mi son seduta in questo ristorante pensando di trovare cucina ligure di buon livello. Non so come definire questo tipo di ristorazione: creativa? Fantasiosa? Forse, ma la quantità servita era da assaggio gourmet, veramente al limite del fastidioso. Ciò premesso la vista è molto bella, il personale gentile la qualità del cibo buona per quanto possibile, perché mangiando all'aperto i piatti si raffreddavano all'istante, non aiutava la tipologia dei piatti decisamente non convenzionali. Per quanto mi riguarda è stata una scelta sbagliata. Non ultimo segnalo i prezzi alti, probabilmente adatti al turismo straniero.

We booked our dinner here based on our rooms recommendations. Wish we read the Google reviews first. We ordered the chefs special 4 course meal. Thinking it would be nice to be surprised with the upcoming meal choices. It took almost 45mins for us to receive our first appetizer. And so on for each stage meal. The service was very slow. The restaurant had only 2 waiters working. So they are understaffed. Our meals were coming out cold which was not good and defeats the experience and food quality. One miscommunication occurred during our dining experience, the waiter had asked if we had any allegeries before ordering or food dietary choices. This was my fault, I forgot to mention I dont like pulled pork. Anyhow. One of our meals come out was just that. The waiter came to collect our dishes and saw I didnt touch mine. She asked and I let her know that we had a miscommunication and I forgot to mention. She simply said sorry and moved on. I thought a high end restaurant and customer service would have at least offered to bring out a substitute option to replace the meal course. But it didnt happen. Overall. I do not recommend and it was very expensive for the service we received.
