Què diuen els clients de Las Campanas Mexican Cuisine & Tequila Bar
Las Campanas offers a mixed experience. Many praise the atmosphere, friendly service (especially Ivan), and drinks like the Cadillac Margarita. However, some find the food overpriced, salty, or inconsistent in quality, with small portions. The flan is a standout dessert.

Opinions de Las Campanas Mexican Cuisine & Tequila Bar Riverside
We had a reservation at 3pm, we didn’t order our order for just the appetizer until 4pm. Service was slow and took a while to come to our table. Atmosphere was great, place is really pretty to take pics. The food itself was good. I got the chicken enchiladas plate and it is a big portion.
This was really a nice place. The complimentary chips and salsa were outstanding. The aracheta tacos were delicious as was the Mexican rice and the tortilla soup. But there’s one reason to come here: the flan. Do not leave without having it. It is literally the best flan I have ever had in my life. It was so flavorful and rich I almost couldn’t finish it! Hats off to Stephen our server who recommended it. Great place to dine.
Just went with my family via reservation on open table. Was quickly seated, greeted by friendly staff, immediately served chips and salsa and waters all around. Provided with excellent and attentive service throughout 1.5 hours there. Very tasty drink menu had the Paloma as well as an espresso martini. Enjoyed the ambiance and lighting during Festival of Lights ordered trio fajitas more than enough to feed two. Thoroughly enjoyed.
My server Ivan was amazing. I had no reservation on a Friday afternoon, I was seated right away and it was busy. My shrimp fajitas were wonderful. My Cadillac margarita, so good. I have eaten here twice, since I’ve been here on a visit and both times my service was great! Food and drinks, great! No one put me on a timer for my stay at my table. The atmosphere is great. Everyone at this restaurant made my experience great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. If you’re in a rush, go to a drive thru restaurant. Sit down relax and enjoy.
Love the atmosphere. Our food was brought out very quickly with friendly service. Those aspects of our dinner were worth the money. The food itself was good but definitely not the best around. There are many Mexican restaurants in Riverside with better food at a far better price. Come for the atmosphere, have a nice meal.
Great atmosphere, good food, great service. Enchiladas were good, taco salad was huge, hanger steak was chewy. I don’t suggest that plate. Cadillac Margarita was great. They have a 90 minute maximum on seating starting from when the server arrives. If you want to. Christmas time is great at the Mission Inn!
My gosh dish after dish that came were uber salty last night. From the chips to our taco, it was drenched in salt. We had to tap the chip to get rid of the salt. The fish taco too was overly salty. We asked to have it brought back to the kitchen. We asked for the fish to be less salty. Server misheard and thought we asked for filling to be put ‘on the side’. So our taco came back with 1 fish wrapped around a tortilla. 🤣 I have to say, as bad the food was last night. The venue was quite spectacular. It had that amazing vibe you’ll enjoy.
The Mission Inn is a favorite spot of mine. The area is so beautiful and feels refreshing. However, this restaurant was slightly disappointing due to one member of their staff and the wait time. I was celebrating my engagement at Las Campanas. We had a big party which we reserved 1 month beforehand. About 80% of the table received their meals 40 minutes after placing their order. About half of the remaining 20% received theirs 20 minutes later. My mother had asked if my grandmother's plate was going to be coming out soon. The waiter replied, "Well everyone is waiting for their food too." I believe he meant everyone else in the restaurant. Completely unprofessional and I do expect decent service when paying Mission Inn prices. I get the waiter does not have much to do with how fast the food is cooked but his response was rude. Btw, my grandmother's plate did not come for another 10 minutes after that so it took over an hour to get her food 🙃. Food was good, but not worth that wait time imo. Oh and the same waiter had skipped over me when asking for drink orders. So I had to wait about 15 minutes after he first came because the other staff I tried to ask for a drink (soda btw nothing fancy) told me "I'm not the one that does the drinks." Really lovely set up they have. TLDR: slightly rude staff, extremely long wait time for food Take your chances if you want to. The picture is of the shrimp enchiladas with green sauce $29
I was very excited to visit this restaurant because of its high reviews. However, when I was here the food did not live up to all of my expectations. I feel that for the amount of food and the taste the food was not worth the high price. Overall the food was tasty but not the best I've had. One thing that is vital for this restaurant is placing a reservation beforehand.
Lost its luster. Surprised that it has even a 3.9 average. We used to visit this restaurant and enjoyed it frequently, but don’t think we will anymore. It used to be beautiful, food was very flavorful, and the service was outstanding. A number of our friends warned us that it’s not the same, and sadly they are right. We ate with three other couples and for food they had the Duane’s burrito, hanger steak, carne asada enchiladas, and we split a taco salad with chicken prepared in a somewhat burned flour tortilla bowl. The burrito didn’t have much meat, the enchiladas were described as “ok”, steak was “decent but overpriced”, and the salad was just not good. The chicken was overcooked, and there just wasn’t that much substance to it. Sounded really good from the menu description but didn’t live up to expectations. All the dressing sat on the bottom of the shell, saturated that and the lettuce didn’t have the flavor-made me wonder if they poured that on first then added everything else. For drinks the table had a couple old fashioned, classic margarita, two Modelo, and a grande margarita. The last one I question the size, it didn’t look like 24 ounces. Drinks were average but small according to the comments our group had. The prices are similar to those people have come to shun in Las Vegas, see menu photos for details. They have wildly overpriced items for what you get. Service was overall fine, just nothing above average. For a party of six or more they automatically add 20% whether earned or not. And they won’t split a check or give separate checks, we were a group of eight & wanted to do four & four. At the end while we calculated the split the waitress came around a couple times asking if we were ready, I finally told her she’d have to wait since she wouldn’t just give us two checks. It’s that kind of thing that makes this place less than it was. Overall we would NOT recommend coming here. Sure the building is nice but you can walk around it for free and not end up with a $150 tab (our share) for two taco salads, two beers and a “ grande” margarita.
Let's start this review. If you make reservations in advance you will be okay. I think they have a really nice ambiance and could even take more advantage of the location. As soon as they take you to your table they will say that you have a limit of 90 minutes. Sometimes they will take about 30-50 minutes to bring your plate so that would take some of your time. Let's talk about the service, I think it could improve, when we got our order the waiter put the tortilla plate on top of our chip plate which we haven't finished and were eating still. Not very nice. The total amount for two people was about 70-80 dollars included tips. The price compare to the quality of food you get is totally different. We ordered beef fajitas and veggies fajitas. It didn't have any taste, the beef was burnt. Totally not acceptable for the price you pay. I have gotten fajitas in a different for WAY less and 5 times better the quality. The only thing you can rescue from the place is the ambience, that is all. I wish they could improve their food quality. Such a nice place to poor food quality. What is sad about giving these reviews is that it seems that they don't care, I don't see any replies or having to do something to do better. I wouldn't recommend this place. If you come here, you are just here for the ambiance, food? Might as well go somewhere else.
I completely agree with reviwers that said they were disappointed of the place. My family and I just had dinner last night and it truly was not what we expected. The customer service is good, but the food was a real disappointment for the price paid. Small portions, dry beans and boxed like rice. Lots of very small broken tortilla chips that looked like if they were the left overs from other tables. The mix drinks we had did not taste as good as the ones inside the hotel's bar. Almost no alcohol in them and very unflavored. I would not recommned this place other than for eating ouside on a nice looking patio. Total rip off.
I ordered fajitas and it was a waste of money at $32 a plate. So many tasteless vegetables and not enough chicken or beef. That was hot but pinto beans and rice were cold. Tortillas were good. I was really looking forward to my meal and was so dissatisfied. On the other hand the enchiladas were good but same with rice and beans. My friend said the tortilla soup was tasty. Service was top notch! Cant beat atmosphere this time of year
My fiancé and I visited Las Campanas yesterday during the Mission Festival of Lights. The staff was very kind and patient, and the patio ambiance is beautiful—definitely the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. The chips and salsa were the first red flag—the salsa tasted like puréed tomatoes with no flavor. My fiancé ordered a piña colada that was bitter and had to be returned. About 30 minutes later, our food arrived. I ordered the chicken fajitas with black beans and rice, and they were the worst fajitas I’ve ever had. The rice tasted boxed, the chicken portion was tiny and bland, and everything seemed pre-cooked and reheated. The chicken was sitting underneath the vegetables instead of being mixed, and the tortillas were clearly packaged. My fiancé’s tortilla soup also tasted like it came from a mix. I really wanted to love this place—the setting is gorgeous and the service was great—but the food quality does not match the price. I wouldn’t return unless the kitchen makes some serious improvements. Very disappointed ☹️
We had reservations at 3 and were seated quickly. I had high hopes because the patio was so pretty. Well, it ALL went downhill from there. The gentleman who brought us the chips and salsa was very nice, but nobody came to our table for at least thirty minutes afterwards. Two tables next to us kept getting served, but nobody came to our table. I finally tapped someone on the shoulder and asked them for a waiter. The guy finally came out, but he said he just started his shift. No smile very rude, honestly, it was the worst service I have ever experienced. When we finally got our drinks and food, it was pretty good, not exceptional but just okay. The service was very inferior though. All of the waiters seem "weird". Nobody smiles and the atmosphere just seemed off. Mexican restaurants are usually fun! This place sucked. I can't believe on opening night of the christmas lights they didn't have better service. I will never go there again and never recommend it to anyone.
Came to eat lunch and grab a margarita by myself after being stuck on the 91 freeway for hours. I've been here a few times and am usually satisfied. This place is usually busy but service has always been top notch. I am not sure what has happened but they are so slow now. I wasn't particularly in a hurry but I had to flag down a waiter every time I needed something even just to order. My margarita was strong not sure if it was worth $30 but I didn't mind. The carne asada fajitas were good too. I wish the meat had more char to it. The biggest annoyance was a tortilla soup that cost $15. The nice atmosphere does not make up for the price of some of the items nor the slow service.
Chips. Stale - when I mentioned it, I literally was told “oh they need more time under the light, they will all be like that, we will bring some better ones in a bit.” They never came. The value is simply not there. For the price of the menu items, the food would have to be exceptional and the experience matched. It definitely did not live up the to the price point. The landscaping isn’t fresh and the seats were dirty. Avoid it unless you simply have no other choice.
Went on my birthday again, 12-29-25. We were looking forward to our annual visit and sorry to say were very disappointed for two reasons this year. 1. Lack of the regularly beautiful ambiance. Felt like we were in some ones backyard low budget party. 2. The steaks we ordered were prepared incorrectly. When a change was requested for one of the steaks, not both, the replacement came back burned and not edible. 3. No effort to correct the second by either trying again or not charging for the meal was made! For a dish that is highly over charged at $38.++ dollars each you think you would at least get the usually great ambiance! 4. Service by waiter was marginal at best, never asked my wife if she would like more water and only asked if I would like more coffee when we were about ready to go. What a let down!
My wife made reservations at 7pm for my birthday. We arrived a few minutes early as well knew the holiday festivities were taking place. We waited 10 mins to be seated. As we seated the host made it clear there is 90 min time limit and the clock starts right away. Water and chips were dropped off immediately. After waiting 15 mins and watching one server after another walk by and not stop to take our drink order, food order or even refill the water. We decided to call Mario's place across the street to see how long the wait was. There was one table available outside. We got up and walked out of Las Campanas. I asked to speak to the manager and the host couldn't figure out who she needed to get. So rather than wasting anymore time in this poor run restaurant, we had a wonderful meal, with PROCESSIONAL SERVICE AT MARIO'S PLACE!!! LAS CAMPANAS is overrated and will never go back. Go to MARIO'S Place
I have work in the hospitality industry myself, so I fully understand that things can be difficult at times. However, when you open at 11 AM and I am among the first customers, it should not already feel like the staff is unwilling or unable to provide basic courtesy. When I arrived, there was only one in front of mein line. The hostess seated the first guests quickly and warmly, as though they were regulars or even friends of the host. When it was my turn, however, I was not acknowledged at all. I politely told her I just needed a table for one and even pointed to a spot where I could sit because I was tired, yet she still ignored me. The only time she acknowledged my presence was when another group walked in behind me. She greeted them and began to ask about their reservation. At that point, I had to interrupt and remind her that I was still waiting. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she went to speak to the servers. They all looked at me, then looked back at each other and laughed. That moment was not only dismissive but humiliating. I asked to speak to the manager, explained what happened, and made it clear that I was leaving because of the service. The manager kindly offered me a complimentary buffet meal inside the mission inns brunch, but I declined because I wanted it to be understood that I was not seeking anything free. I wanted my concern taken seriously—that the way I was treated was unacceptable. As a high school substitute teacher, I see younger generations going into the workforce, and I notice the decline in personable skills. This incident was a strong example of that. Being ignored as a customer, laughed at by staff, and left to feel like an inconvenience is not the kind of service anyone should experience. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. I genuinely believe this is an area where training and accountability could make a real difference. Such a beautiful restaurant by the way! And something like this could ruin someone’s overall experience of their vacation or even dinner date. I also hope the young lady working the host stand, realizes that in these times / economy , money is very tight and when people are willing to spend their hard earned money, at your establishment to give you some money to your check to live off of you should be Extending courtesy all around.
