Food is always delicious IMHO. I have tried most of the meats and never found one I didn't enjoy. I prefer the yellow rice and the refried beans, but also enjoy the pintos and black beans as well as the red rice from time to time. The salads are fabulous too as tonight was the first time I went that route and will be adding that to the rotation of my orders. Their chipotle ranch is amazing and I love the jalapeno crema from the salsa bar. The staff are super nice and the owner is amazing. Most times are counter service with a few of the menu choices requiring additional prep time so they are delivered piping hot to your table from the kitchen when ready. I love this place and if you enjoy Chipotle and want something similar but different (and with more flavor in my opinion) you should definitely give it a try... Guess I might have said too much and might make it too busy next time I visit 😄.

Don Q’s Cantina is a hidden gem in Placer County. The food is a remarkable value and made very consistently. I love the Mexican hospitality that you are greeted with every single time you arrive. You feel like family! The drinks are fantastic and their Happy Hour is great! They also have an extensive tequila selection with high end brands to smaller producers that you can explore. Their tequila prices are beyond reasonable for a bar compared to Sacramento or the Bay Area. The Owner, Linda, is always making sure you are having the best experience possible. The rest of the team treat you with respect and always are trying to improve their craft.

Don Quixote’s Cantina is an absolute gem! Their pozole is rich, comforting, and packed with flavor clearly made with care and tradition. And the chipotle ranch burrito? Unreal. The perfect balance of smoky, creamy, and savory in every bite. The food is consistently delicious, satisfying, and leaves you already planning your next visit. If you’re looking for bold flavors and comfort food done right, this spot is a must. Highly recommend! 🌯

I’m visiting family locally and I found, Don Q’s Cantina is a total gem the food is A1, and the customer service is outstanding both over the phone and in person. I had the fish tacos and the house pork soup, and they were some of the most authentic Mexican dishes I’ve ever had. The pork soup tasted so fresh, like Abuela made it tonight! The chips and salsa trio red sauce, green salsa, and beans were all perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. We even created a twist on their Cowboy Margarita, adding mango and blueberry with a sugar rim, and it was incredible so fresh, smooth, and delicious. The manager and owner are genuinely kind and welcoming, making you feel like part of the family. The food, the people, and the whole atmosphere are truly a breath of fresh air. This is a catering review: This is the second time that we have ordered from this restaurant and I cannot say enough good things. As a company we probably order 15-20 catering orders annually and this restaurant surpasses them all by a long shot. All of the food is crafted with care. There aren’t blobs of fat in any one of the burritos, the beans and rice are phenomenal, the tacos are all perfect, don’t even get me started on the enchiladas! (The best Chile verde and cheese quesadilla I’ve probably eaten!) My boss found this place and I really didn’t expect the same level of service that we received back in the spring but we did and I am thoroughly surprised! Thank you so much to the people who made this food and do it with care! It would be so easy to throw in a fatty piece when you’re making 50 burritos but that is not Don Quixote’s!!! Shop local, spend local and expect the best because that is what you get with this restaurant!!!

Been eating here since my teenagers were young kids and they still love it. Food has been consistently good for the past decade. Can't say that about many other places. Staff is always friendly. Portions are good. Salsa bar is a bonus and kept well stocked. Excellent place to eat!

I’ve been coming here since I was 5 years old. 18 years later, at the age of 23 I haven’t had one bad meal from here. Don Quixotes has sustained me, and watched me grow up. When we first started coming here, I couldn’t even see the good selections over the counter. Now I’m taller than the sneezeguard!😂 The Owner is always there with a smile, and always recognizes me. Service is almost always SUPER quick. I’ve never had a bad experience here. My go-to-order is always a burrito bowl, and my go-to-meat is ALWAYS the chicken. It’s like they put crack in it, it’s so perfectly marinated and cooked. Especially with an extra good squeeze of lime. Thank you Don Quixotes for your consistently top notch service to this community. You will forever have my business, and you will forever be my favorite Mexican restaurant.

After Punxsatawny Phil said 6 more weeks of winter....My wife and I had an amazing experience at Don Q's Cantina this evening 2/2/2026. Alex educated me and my wife about different types of tequila and we ended up trying some amazing tequila - Don Fulano reposado. The food was amazing, atmosphere was a vibe, and Alex was an incredible and attentive bartender... that we will happily #SeeYouTomorrow

The best. The chili Verde is the best! They have so many good items it's like all the Mexican moms in the neighborhood came together with the best recipes and brought them there. So many different items are so delicious! They are better than most of the Mexican restaurants in Rocklin and in Sacramento. The other Don Q's is over off Watt and between Marconi and El Camino.

The 6 of us had a wonderful meal, authentic Mexican flavors. My brother loved the Chile relleno, and my quesabirria was excellent. Our server was attentive with our big group, but one order didn't have the desired choice of meat. There's a great outdoor patio area to eat at too, when the weather is warmer.

Coming from Australia, we don't get Mexican food of this style or quality. Truly my favourite Mexican restaurant in all of America. We asked for hot sauce - we got HOT SAUCE! They make exquisite Margarita's, and knowing we were from out of town (country!), they provided many different delicacies for us to try. We are so jealous that our American friends have such great food at their doorstep. Absolutely loved it . . . MTC

Good food, service is okay. They kinda rush you through ordering. We have been a few times. The only thing at this last visit was a huge cockroach crawling on the ground where we were eating. We told the guy who was cleaning tables but he didn’t speak English. He looked where I was pointing under another table, then he kinda just kept working. I pointed again and he finally stepped on it, left it and walked away. I kinda lost my appetite at that point. I know these things happen, but it will be a while before I can return. Hard to spend $40 on dinner there twice this week and just walk out nauseated.

We totally enjoyed our experience at Don Q's. The service was supreme and extremely personal. We debated whether to select the Chile releno or the enchiladas. I picked the Chile releno and was glad I did. It was delicious. The place is in a strip mall adjacent to other restaurants. Meaning it's not stand alone and you compete for parking next to the restaurant. I don't mind, but I notice plenty of people hate to walk more than a hundred feet. You may have to is all I'm saying. All in all..it's a good place to go to if you're hankering for Mexican food. I plan on a return visit for sure.

It's a good thing the food is toys l good. But what kind of bar decides NOT to stock the best rum out there. No Capt Morgan says to me they don't care what customers want.
