Opinions de Pantry Diner Rockville Centre
First of all let’s just say great food and good service go hand in hand and this neighborhood diner lives up to those standards under the management of Simonie and her courteous staff!! My husband and I not only enjoy the food, we also have been at the restaurant during one of their live jazz events which is held in a nicely lit dining area i on the side of the restaurant. Overall I encourage people who like ambiance good service and a variety of food selections to check out the Pantry! After all look at this delicious Lobster Omelette. The only place that I’ve had it to actually enjoy real lobster is in Atlantic City.
Ive been coming here for the past 4 years and Ive tried almost everything on the menu and its so good. This is my go to for brunch or late night. They have a 2 for 1 brunch special everyday before 4pm and i recommend every one to go on their day off. Its a diner so they have a LOT of options for food but my favorite is definitely brunch / breakfast. The service is always great and food is so good. At one point I was coming here everyday. I love it here 10/10
My parents go here weekly and LOVE IT, they said everything they have had has been delicious. I went with them recently and had the Braised Beef Short Rib with mashed potatoes and asparagus. This dish was absolutely delicious. The staff is wonderful and the environment is great as well. We had no problem parking and needed no reservations. They are on the pricey side but well worth it.
My husband and I came here for a Sunday Brunch date and although it was very busy we were seated within 10 minutes. We sat at a two-seater booth which seemed cozy at the time however, we didn't realize how small it was until all of our food came. I think due to the rush, our drinks and appetizers took some time to get to us, and the food came out almost immediately after, but nonetheless it was all amazing and cooked perfectly to our liking. The waitress was very nice and the staff assisted each other very well. We would definitely return and recommend others attend. I happened to love the 2 for 1 Hawaiian Mimosa and the Thai wings (so delicious!!) Even with the minor issues, would rate this restaurant with 5 stars.
Had a great breakfast. We have never been here before and we were overwhelmed with the choices. It is was great experience, we are looking forward to going back.
This is a staple of mine. A good amount of menu items(maybe overwhelming to some) but everything that I've tried always hits the spot. My go to dinner is the braised short rib it's so tender and tasty. The most slow roast it for hours. I also like the short rib eggs benny for brunch.
I went here today with the fam and the food was amazing ! Friendly waiter and staff aswell I would definitely recommend coming here. I recommend the pancakes and the shrimp and grits . But I had tasted other food items as-well and they were all good.
Holy shizzballs. My daughter picked this place as a birthday dinner . I haven't been here in decades. They remodeled since. The atmosphere is great, the food was so good. I have never gotten such high quality at a diner before. I ordered the Cinnabun (that's how they spelled it) pancakes (picture attached) and they were as good as they look. Pricing I felt was either in line or slightly cheaper than other diners. However the thing that really impressed me was the service. We interacted with our server, our food runner, and the busboy. All 3 were so pleasant and friendly and attentive that it really made the whole experience so enjoyable. High Praise and I cannot recommend highly enough. In my opinion, this is the top diner in a 50 mile radius. Fantastic. I am truly looking forward to returning.
I had the firebird (Grilled chicken, smoked gouda, honey maple bacon, crispy onion rings, chipotle mayo, ciabatta, fries). I got the chicken fried instead of grilled. There were layers of flavors there. I’m not a big fan of sweet and savory combined, but the bacon was just the right amount of crisp, mixed with sweet and savory.
The interior is designed really nice. The menu is intense... lots of very good choices. My favorite is the lobster omelet. So good. I also enjoyed the steak and eggs. My friend had rhe steak and egg Benny and found it was so yummy. Looked great too. Another friend had the Chicken and Waffle Benny and was not too sure about that though. Said all the ingredients were great seperately but did not blend well together in her opinion. Our service is usually really great. This time the guys seem a bit unsure and maybe high or just awkward. Made for a great laugh but def lost brain cells with that one. Mimosas and Belinnis were great too.
Our server was attentive and responsive. The food is classic American fare and is super tasty. The home fries are cubed and cooked exactly the way I like them, crispy-ish on the outside but softer inside. Great place for brunch.
Haven't been to the Pantey since before Superstorm Sandy. At first We thought it wasn't going to reopen. This new version is not the diner you're used to.This is a restaurant. The booth is a very high back and I kind of felt.It was a bit dark cause it will be dark.Wood dark tables but it makes the lighting above look much prettier. Food was excellent.Coffee was awesome.Did not do dessert so I can't tell you anything about that.
My wife and I came across this restaurant by accident this morning...we were starving and decided to stop. I am so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious, the staff was so nice and everything about the atmosphere was extremely pleasant. We love to eat out...but breakfast is our favorite meal to eat out and this breakfast place was a Top 10 favorite. We will be back!!!
I definitely would comeback here again. The service was phenomenal and the food I ordered was delicious. Also the place itself is very clean and organized. I dont know why I didnt come here sooner.
Brunch was great! I had the NY strip with eggs and has and my date had the French toast with a side of the chicken that’s served with the chicken and waffles. The food was good! The drinks were everything! We Had the mermaid mimosa and it tasted like vacation! Lol it was giving keep the drinking coming at all inclusive resort vibes. The service was also great!
Great place, we went last minute and didn't have to wait for a seat. All the employees were super helpful and nice great atmosphere too! We all got brunch/breakfast.
I just came here for my mother's birthday, and I can honestly say, everything was excellent. From the service to the food, I thoroughly enjoy my experience here. The server/bartender did a phenomenal job with attending to everything we asked for in a timely manner. The food came out quickly and it was delicious. I will definitely recommend this place to enjoy a great meal.
After seeing all of the great reviews, we finally made it out to this diner. The menu is extensive and there’s something for every tastebud. I’ve been here couple of times. I would say the environment is not the usual feel of a diner, but elevated. The vibe is a little more posh. The milkshakes are delish, the drinks are tasty and strong. For food we’ve tried the wings, Mac and cheese, pasta, roasted chicken among other things. It can get very busy, so reservations are strongly recommended. Would definitely visit again.
We arrived at 8:30. Diner is very clean and staff very respectful. I had the grain bowel with eggs. It was fantastic. My sister had the stuff French toast with maple bacon that was great also. There is plenty of parking spaces. Get there early so you don't have rush
Was curious about this place because it had so many reviews but as soon as i tasted the food i definitely understood now. The food was really great, price is okay. Only downside side was it was kind of a long wait. But other than that i was happy that we ate here. Definitely recommend to book a reservation if u don’t want a long wait. ☺️
We got seated pretty quickly on a Sunday afternoon. Food, atmosphere, drinks, and services were all wonderful. One of my new favorite spots! Can be on the pricier end depending on what you get. There is a wide selection on the brunch menu. Makes you want to try everything! Definitely would come back again to try the other foods!
Went on a random Monday morning . Shrimp and grits were delicious along with the parfait. The freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing. Service was great. Atmosphere great. Food came quickly and even when we were done eating we weren't rushed to leave . A New favorite
This place has truly captured me. I was taken by a friend, and now I wish. I was a regular. Although I would have preferred my shrimp & grits with a Creolel sauce versus a tomato base, it was still presented very well. Next time I'm gonna try the oxtail burger, or one their omelets. 9/10
This was my second time at this restaurant. The service was great. It’s always organized and clean. I ordered breakfast. The best grits in town. If you’re a coffee lover, you try a variety of flavors. My food was delicious. I’m recommending this restaurant to everyone.
We arrived at 11:30 on a Friday before the lunch rush. There was no wait for a seat. After waiting 20 minutes we called someone over to ask for help at our table. Looked like he may have also been bartending. Later we heard there were only 2 servers so, maybe they were tired/frustrated themselves. So service was slow everyone else we encountered was fine. Appetizers came quickly. Food took a while but everyone was happy with their orders. Perhaps the slow service today was a fluke. I would return.
Cool place, had brunch here, the food was great, decent drinks, seems like they're very busy on weekends
This place is awesome. It serves up some great eats. The establishment is clean, and the servers are friendly (and especially helpful if you're struggling to choose something on their menu). I love the cozy ambiance, and the food is delicious. This is a great dining experience. Stop in and see for yourself.
This place will always have a special place in my heart. I actually stumbled upon it right after my very first gynecologist appointment confirming I was pregnant — it was right around the corner. Their pancakes are hands down my favorite. Fluffy, perfectly sweet, and just pure comfort on a plate. Every time I had another appointment, I’d make it a little tradition to stop in after and grab breakfast. It became my spot during such a special season of life. The entire breakfast menu is delicious — everything I’ve tried has been consistently amazing. Their coffee is also very good. I’ve never tried their lunch, but it always looked so good coming out of the kitchen. Highly recommend. Great food, great vibes, and now such sweet memories tied to it. 💛🥞
Always a pleasure going to The Pantry for the brunch menu. Our waitress Nadia was pleasant and very patient as we ordered several items. EVERYTHING ordered was delicious, fresh and prepared with fresh ingredients (Creme Brule French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, carrot cake pancakes, cinnamon french toast, and bellinis). The service and quality exceeded my expectations!! Excellent. I highly recommend and look forward to returning with friends and family. #Quality service & delicious food 😋
This is a upscale diner but far better than your average one. It offers a wide variety of food options, and the mimosas are particularly great. While there may be a wait at times, it’s nothing you can’t handle. The restaurant can get quite crowded, but the service is always exceptional.
My family and friends 💕 eating here. They never miss! Update... today for christmas was the grateful miss ever! I made reservations for 9am about a week+ ago. The food did not come to the table hot. I asked them to remake it and they reheated it. The presentation was even different. Then asked if I wanted it remade. I did not get up early on christmas day to pay and eat cold food.
We visited the restaurant last Friday night for dinner with my uncle, who is French and truly appreciates good cuisine. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted very warmly. The place was quite busy, yet the atmosphere remained welcoming and well organized. We ordered the skirt steak with French fries and protein bowls. The steak was cooked exceptionally well - we chose the au poivre sauce - and my uncle absolutely loved it. He even said it felt like dining at his favorite restaurant in Paris, which is a huge compliment. We had mentioned some food allergies in advance, and everything was handled with great care and professionalism. Despite it being a busy Friday night, the food arrived very quickly. For dessert, we tried the chocolate mousse cake. It was good, though I’ve had a better one there on a previous visit. Overall, it was a great culinary experience with excellent hospitality. We will definitely be coming back.
Haven't been here in over a decade. So, when my friend suggested that's where we meet, I thought it was just gonna be an "ole'skool" diner situation. Boy was I wrong. Apparently the update is already 8 years young, but it was a pleasant surprise and seemed brand new. This spot is chic and the place was buzzing. At one point we asked our ace bartender, Fedora, "Is it always this busy?" And she said, "Today is actually kinda slow." 😳 There were barely any empty tables from my view and we were sitting at the bar, which was empty when I arrived, and only 2 empty seats by the time we were done... and those were our seats. Great vibe with great food. The Oxtail Burger is delicious and I was impressed with the diversity of choices on the menu. It took a minute for me to decide because there were several items I wanted to try. My suggestion is to bring enough friends to sample everything. #LocalGem #GoodEats #theresthatfoodie #AVTeats
Today being Thanksgiving, my sister and I went to Brunch at about 11am today. The restaurant was buzzing with customers, plenty of staff and greetings in every direction. We were seated right away and even with a huge crowd of happy customers, quiet which is so important to have conversations and thank the staff, as we did. The food was plentiful, delicious, beautifully displayed on dishes and coffee strong just the way I like it. People were waiting patiently all content. I highly recommend this establishment in Rockville Center with plenty of ample parking and convenient. You will not be disappointed in whatever choices you choose even for take-out. Thank you Pantry Diner for a lovely meal and ambience. JY
I just recently moved to Long Island and discovered my new go-to spot. The brunch was really good. I had the Crème Brûlée French Toast and also tried the Turkey Biscuits and Gravy. Both were fire. I’m excited to come back again and try their wings next time. Shanice was amazing, very knowledgeable, and even welcomed us back. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
I suggest you make a reservation. This place is packed! But for good reason. The vibes were great, the music was good and you could hear your conversation. Everyone was pleasant. The variety of food was amazing. There's something for everyone. The dressing on the Cesar salad, delicious! I should have asked for a cup a dressing to go. So rich and creamy. Perfect lettuce to dressing ration. The edges were cooked perfectly. The cheese pull on my mom's omelet, perfection. Im on a no bread, no sugar diet so I didn't indulge in all they had. My mom said the fried potatoes were delicious. We're definitely going back! There's a well decorated vestibule where you can sit and take pictures. Everything was hot and fresh.
I was invited to attend a milestone birthday dinner at this place. Apparently it's a family favorite and I understand why. The food is amazing!! I had the oxtail tacos and Nashville hot sliders. They were full of flavor and filling. Everyone meal orders were very generous portions. The atmosphere was great to celebrate a birthday and the staff was very attentive and pleasant.
So it’s Monday night, just heading in from work and neither one of us wanted to cook. So we decided we’d give this place a try for the first time. We figured it’s a diner, and it’s pretty hard to mess up a burger and fries. But once we read the menu, we quickly realized this was no regular mom & pop diner! I can’t even begin to describe all of the mouth watering options you have to choose from. The Jamaican tacos are the bomb, the wings were amazing, and the key lime pie was the perfect ending to a great meal. Take a look at some of these pictures, and do yourself a favor and give this place a try, you will not regret it.
Very good food, and alot of options. The seating is very comfortable and large. The menu is veyy try large and everything my group ordered was very good. Came here for Mother’s Day and boozy brunch was really good. Group ordered: steak benny, lobster benny, steak and eggs, tres leche french toast, coffee and mimosas. Each person is about $40. All the food is fresh and high quality. I highly recommend this as the top diner and will definitely be coming back again for the dinner menu.

Food is delish, service is exceptional! ambiance is beautiful, clean and decorated beautifully! My go to food any time day or night!
1000% you should be at the pantry and be willing to spend more than diner money but less than 4 star. Stuffed French toast !!!!! Wonderful waitresses !!!! Cool ambiance, I guess I went for the food…
The Pantry is a classic diner but with an updated menu. The service is too notch. We didn't wait at all to be seated. The Pantry is nice, clean, and inviting.

The Pantry was a nice dining experience where you can order Breakfast, Lunch or dinner anytime of day. The atmosphere was quiet & friendly for the most part. The food was tasty & the portions were sizable.
A very well decorated "BBL" (Breakfast Brunch & Lunch) Spot in Rockville Centre. Plenty of parking, friendly welcoming hostesses, and an excellent wait staff. They got friendly waiters and runners all bringing your food out on time and catering to your dining needs. Plenty of choices for food, that keeps you coming back to try different dishes. Personally, it's my mom's favorite spot. With its contemporary decor, I recommend this place to be on top of your BBl list.
The restaurant is a diner, but when you walk in, it's not the usual diner set up or atmosphere. Huge area and great layout. Our server was attentive a and gave suggestions that worked. The drinks (Mimosa, Screwdriver) were delish. The Bellini didnt deem like a Bellini we were use to. The entrees were great. We will return.
I wasn’t expecting this place to be what it was, but I was pleasantly surprised. I went with a friend during a weekday around noon and was surprised at how full it was. Since the name of the restaurant includes the word diner I wasn’t expecting much, but I was blown away at how beautiful it was. The decorations, the furniture and the service was great. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because I was disappointed at the presentation of the alcoholic beverage. It was a pretty drink with a pretty name, but there was no garnish. You can definitely afford to add some fruit.
This is my go to for Brunch. They have a nice selection to choose from and the food is really good. My favorite is the crème brûlée French toast. And the gravy and biscuits are yummy. They have a parking and the restaurant is a decent size so you won’t be waiting to be seated. The staff is friendly and always helpful. My only gripe is the pricing is a little high but what isn’t these days 🤷🏾♀️
Immediately greeted by the friendly hostess and told the wait would be 20 minutes however the bar was available. Sat at the bar and was not greeted listened to the female bartender complain about the influx of drink tickets and being seated at the bar. The bartender Nick came over after making drinks greeted us , handed us menus and took our drink order. I was afraid I would want to leave but his attentiveness and pleasant personality turned this dining experience around. The food was delicious and I would come again but wait for a table. They have vegetarian options available , the portions were pretty large. And loved the buy get one free drink special!
Upscale decor & a trendy menu. Great food & fantastic coffee, this isn't the old Pantry you knew & loved back in the 70s & 80s. It has a bit of a hipster vibe yet welcomes everyone. Today we had Avocado toast w/ over easy eggs & a delisvious fish sandwich with perfectly done onion rings. The place fills up fast so make a reservation or be prepared to wait!
I've been to the pantry a few times before the pandemic and I was not happy with the food but today was exceptional. The food was delicious and the staff was outstanding. I'll definitely be coming back again because of my experience this time. They've updated the booths compared to it before the pandemic they're higher they look exquisite and modern. I am also a local business owner in Baldwin. You guys have done a great job.
The pantry is like an upscale diner. The menu is vast which doesn't help indecisive people at all lol Although our waitress was friendly, we waited a while for her to come back to the table to take our order even after letting the host know we were ready to order. Once we got our food, it was hot and delicious. I ordered the shrimp duo, which consisted of fried shrimp, grilled shrimp, and lobster mash with spinach. It was tasty and seasoned well. The fried shrimp was tempura, not traditionally fried shrimp. I believe there were 3 jumbo grilled shrimp and 3 pieces of shrimp Tempura. Plenty of mashed potatoes. And a good portion of spinach. I just had water. I was told the milkshake was good, and it had ice cream at the bottom. Once we were finished eating, we sat waiting on the waitress again, and I actually got up to ask for to-go containers, and that was when our waitress said she would bring them along with the check. We then waited a while at the table for her to come back and collect our money but wind up getting up and going to pay upfront because we were ready to leave. So, as you can tell, the wait time was the least favorite thing about our visit to The Pantry. If I'm ever in the mood for waffles I would probably go back. Every waffle dish looked rather good.
This restaurant has great drinks and the food is awesome! A huge menu to choose from also a great drink menu for adults. From being on a date to a girl day out or just hanging out great ombiance. I gave a four rating because of or server wasn't that attentive but other than that great place!
The food was awesome...our first server...not so much...She'd ask if we needed anything but barely stopped to let us answer...gone...she ended her shift without closing out... Usually the server let's you know they're leaving and asks if there are any requests...and lets you know who your new server will be...Her replacement was excellent and we tipped him accordingly...Sharing this tip was not optional and we let the young man know that...Folks that don't make excellent their standard shoudn't reap the rewards of those who do operate with integrity. We enjoyed my birthday brunch nonetheless. 👌🏾🎉🏆🙌🏾
Great brunch spot, but make a reservation! They do have a large parking lot, but it was full when I arrived, so I had to park across the street near Jovia in the street parking. The staff was friendly, but since the place gets so busy, the food did take a little while to come out. I ordered the French Dip. It was good overall just a bit overcooked for my taste, but the au jus had great flavor and the ciabatta bread was fluffy. I’d recommend asking for the fries well done so they are extra crispy. The milkshakes are really good. Our server suggested doing half chocolate and half vanilla, and l definitely recommend it. Overall, it’s a really great spot for brunch. Just make sure to reserve ahead of time and come prepared for a busy crowd.
Definitely seems to be a spot to visit and eat with family for a quick bite, especially after church on Sundays. I’ve been there 2 or 3 times. It was always decent. They have an extensive menu, with some great options. As a New yorker, I have had my share of restaurants, especially diners. This was good food.
We went during the week (Monday of Christmas week) and it was full. We were able to get a seat right away. There were a few parking spots available. The food was OK, i should have ordered something else, I got the egg focaccia with ham. I ordered the Dino nuggets with fries for my son. This seems like a popular spot and we will be back.
We came here after my mom’s wake with 13 people. First I’ll say their ability to accommodate 13 people with only 20 minute notice while being really busy was awesome.everything was really good except the service could have been better. They include gratuity so the servers have no incentive to provide hospitality because they’re going to make the same regardless. Service was slow. Atmosphere was nice and clean. The food was delicious and I will definitely come back
Extensive menu, friendly, helpful staff, comfortable. Food was good, nicely presented, gluten free and vegetarian. options. A step up diner like restaurant . Would def return.

Service was atrocious. Wanted 2 for 1 drinks. Never recieved second drink. Waiter disappeared for 45 minutes. Had to ask manager for check. Recieved check and waiter disappeared again. Went to front to pay. Not allowed to do seperate checks. Had the lobster Benedict was very good. Service ruined the whole experience.
It took to long to order our food. When you have a table with a larger party, you're overlooked. The water was horrible. The ice maker the ice came from needs to be cleaned out, because the ice had a funny smell and taste. Our eaiter Mario wasn't attentive enough for the tip that he received. I wouldn't have gave him anything.
I am currently on a 50 restaurant tour encompassing Nassau, Suffolk County, NYC and occasionally other states such as Massachusetts and Atlanta. Restaurant number 42. Initially I didn't get much visually other than an veiw of essentially an overcrowded parking lot with minimal curb appeal. Also with a name like the pantry, I didn't know what to expect. The decor is pleasant and tastefully put together but now let's talk about why we're here, the food. I made several selections, two of which included the chicken and waffles as well as the Korean bowl. I'm not a fan of their price points but if you're going to be on the pricier side, back it up with flavorful food and Im happy to say they did. The portions were a little light but well worth it. The cocktails while tasty but lacked punch. In summary, it's worth the trip. Until next time.
It was my 2nd time there. The food has been amazing so far. The Lobster mashed potatoe is amazing!! For the 1st time, I ordered dessert to go. I had a taste for red velvet cake. This is the cake that I got.... for $11... it was not good sorry... I got a full cake at BJS for $19.99 and it tasted better than this.... the Carror cake wasn't it either....
My party of two arrived on a Saturday at approximately 1215 in the afternoon for brunch-there was ample parking. It wasn’t busy. We were politely greeted, and seated immediately. Shortly afterward, our waiter arrived, she took our order. She was suggestive and polite. The menu had plenty of options-meals were a bit pricey. I ordered coffee, chicken and waffles, wifey ordered tea, steak, eggs, and loaded potatoes. Both meal portions were ample, seasoned well, and cooked to perfection. If we had one complaint-our waiter was not attentive. She did not come back to check on us at all. In fact, after completing our meals, and sitting there for a few minutes, we had to summon another waiter for assisted to get the check and take home containers. Overall, this was a satisfactory visit. We would visit again.
Trendy diner that has nice decor inside but overpriced for the amount given. I was also surprised they charged like $3 for a cup of small sliced pickles for the kids.

10 pc wings for $20 is just overpriced considering they tasted frozen, as well as the $25 Eggs Benedict that completely fell apart, not enjoyable, & the truffle fries had way too much Parmesan. The…
The food is fairly mediocre for the price and to add insult to injury the menus in restaurant as well as online do not feature pricing. Paid almost $50 per meal. All of the drinks ordered (Mimosa's and Long Island Iced Teas) were very sour.
Was so excited to come back here & ended up EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. The food was amazing, atmosphere great but the service was completely horrible. Waitress came over to check on us one time, the only time she did we had no food, our food took over 20 minutes to come out , we ordered simple things two wraps and a burger & One of the wraps were wrong at that, … Really not the type to leave reviews, but that was completely unacceptable especially for how nice the establishment is Visually.
So today i visited for brunch with my girlfriend for the first time this morning around 11am , as we enter we got greeted by our hostess with the most upsetting and depressing face. She looks like she hates her job which for me as first impression caught me off guard. The way her face was just dull with no smile didnt make us feel welcomed at all. After getting seated we kindly asked her if we can be seated near a window which was in fact open but she said she has a table of 5 coming in. As time went by i saw a lot of couples coming in and she seated them by the window which i found very unfair for us when we politely requested her. She had no smile on her face whatsoever, her attitude gave us more of an impression that she doesnt want us to be there or she owns the place . We always love to feel welcomed but this place made us feel otherwise , besides that our server was excellent and attentive , we came high expectations but left with disappointment. ** the hostess had very short hair**
My recent visit to The Pantry in Rockville Centre was an overwhelming experience, but unfortunately not in a positive way. While I initially appreciated their extensive menu, which is absolutely massive and spans everything from classic brunch to specialty tacos, the sheer volume of choices couldn't make up for the chaotic atmosphere. The restaurant was incredibly packed, and the layout felt far too tight for the number of people they were trying to serve. Because it was so crowded, the environment was loud and physically uncomfortable; the waiters were constantly rushing and kept knocking into our chairs and table as they navigated the narrow aisles. While some diners have praised the "vibrant" energy, the lack of personal space and the physical disruptions made it impossible to have a relaxing meal.
Come here all the time with my girlfriend. Typically spend $150 every time we’re here. After ordering the Roast Turkey plate I noticed they forgot the stuffing. Not a problem. I always get it and the food is always good so the waitress takes the food back for them to “remake” and the plate that was brought out was an absolute joke. A child’s size plate. They took half the mashed potatoes and turkey off my original plate. The manager brought it out and we were both looking at it in shock. How do you not know the kitchen staff is playing games and took out half of my food?? Absolute joke of a staff. Waitress too busy talking at the counter to attend to anything. What a shame bc I genuinely love the place and owner. Smh. Waste of a drive and a waste of money. Time to try somewhere else unfortunately.
I'm not one to leave bad reviews but I've realized that we can't trust what the place looks like on the outside, we assume that what it looks like on the outside is what the food tastes like but no. I always go for what I like : waffles bacon eggs and sausage, it was not what I expected. the waffles were hard. The food my partner order he didn't like it either. Maybe they have better things on the menu but I don't recommend this one. ‼️ it was my first time here‼️
The food was delicious unfortunately the service was not the best. Our tables weren’t even set and our server Daelyn when taking our orders or even when we asked for a fork or straw made it seem like a hassle, Also did not check up on us once our food arrived. We finished our drinks but not our foods and when we would try to reach her she would walk to their kitchen or just not be there for us to call her. We called a manager and he thankfully just gave us our check and we left. Mind you even after that she still didn’t come to our table. So food was yummy but service unfortunately did not meet up to expectations.
The food is very expensive, & can be good depending on what you get. I’ve had their shrimp & grits before which was amazing. For takeout we did 1 chicken & waffle, 1 regular waffle & 1 fruit salad which totaled out to $58. Unfortunately even though it was VERY pricey, my husband’s chicken & waffle wasn’t very good. For $30, it’s a little ridiculous for the chicken to be dry. I had a regular waffle & it was good. It is a high end diner type of restaurant, so the prices reflect that. The menu is creative & some things are tasty. I gave the Pantry 2 stars because it’s either a hit or a miss. Forgiveness for price justification would be possible if their food had consistency. Sadly due to that, in my opinion in this economy it’s too much of a gamble to spend more than $50 for 2 people for an okay meal.
We were for 1 night around this town. We look for a place to have breakfast with our family. Services was terrible . The food wasn't tasty, eggs didn't taste good anything tasty good 😕. We asked for butter and took the waitress 10 minutes to give us the butter . 😅 this place have a good review. But isn't at all nothing about what we read. I would never recommend this restaurant. The weirdest eggs I ever eat . And the worse services.

Before I give my review, I will start off by saying the hostesses are very nice never had a problem with them. But today was something different. My family and I visited the Pantry and my daughter or…
Terrible hostess. Super crowded and noisy. Made a reservation and had to wait over 20 minutes to find out they double booked & our table was still busy. Not handicap friendly - car was blocking the entrance ramp…did not care. Hostess was very rude and called us ‘combative’ when asking about our table wait. Would not recommend going if you want to have a good experience.
I want to start on a positive note. The toast was good. Tip: on a Saturday night you do not need a reservation. It was pretty empty. An attractive, clean place. We ordered coffee with cream. I had to ask for cream twice. By the time it arrived, the coffee was cold. Moving on. We ordered steak and eggs. It came on a bed of what was supposed to be potato corn bacon hash. Do they know what has is? No. They do not. It was cubes of potato with a few bits of chewy corn and a lump of shredded semi-cooked bacon. C'mon guys. At least mix it in! We ordered strip steak. It's a sin what they did to a nice piece of meat. No mention of a marinade but whatever it was, it was awful. The salsa verde didn't help. A nasty paste that had no flavor other than heat. The eggs were nicely cooked. For $38 a waste of money.
Just left the restaurant and the service has declined tremendously, took 35 minutes to get our appetizers and 45 to get our food. The food wasn't up to par and one of our guests didn't even get her order cause what they bought out wasn't the right order. Overall the experience sucked and I won't be back! The manager with the bald head didn't even have any words, it's like it's ok to have a sucky establishment
Came in for brunch with a small group of 3, was told the wait would be 25-30 minutes. Ended up being over an hr. When we did get in, we were eventually seated. After sitting in the restaurant, super filled; we waited another 15 minutes for service, water, anything. We eventually walked out and had to find an alternative. Been here a few times which was great, today was not a good experience.
It absolutely pains me to edit my years old 5 star review and change it to this. Came for mother's day, they were out of multiple menu items, charged me for the wrong table (72 instead of 82, server didn't catch it, I did) which was a much higher amount, and then ran the charge AGAIN for the correct amount which ended up completely zeroing out my bank account. Have to wait 3-5 business days for the errant charge to clear, leaving me without any money for 3 days. To be clear, my $150 bill ended up being $380 BEFORE the $40 tip I left. There was no compensation or discount offered and nothing that could be done with the exception of "I can talk to the restaurant manager to see if they can speed up the refund process". Yeah, you're gonna get your credit card processor and/or my bank to speed up a 3-5 day process on a Sunday holiday 🙄. I love this place, and have for years, but I honestly don't think I can return. Thank GOD I filled up my gas tank yesterday instead of today so I can at least get to work. Can't wait for the slew of incurred bank fees that this is gonna cost me. Happy mother's Day.
Heard so much about this place. So I decide to visit it today with the understanding its the Sunday after a holiday so it would be busy. We gave our name for 2 the young lady said 50 mins. Well 50 mins turned into hour and 30 mins and still counting as I type this review I still haven't been texted. In the meantime we were not asked if wanted to sit at the bar.Chased advised they allow 120mins eat time at the table. He said we were next 40 mins ago but there were customers sitting at table with packed up food.As well they were working on a reservation list and we'll a walking in list. It appeared to be a big chaos and don't think I will be visiting this dinner again.
To be fair I had high expectations because I have heard great things but this is my honest review. Horrible service. Okayish food with great drinks. Great drinks you can find anywhere in RVC so I wouldn’t waste my time coming here. Please read the rest for more details. We joined the the waitlist at 11am and checked into the restaurant at 11:30am and at the time we were 5th in line but confirmed that we could wait in the car we would receive a text message. At 12:15 we were 1st in line and decided to come in and wait since we would be next. We checked in with the front host for the 2nd time and she asked if we could wait in the outside lobby it would take 10-15 more minutes although we were first in line. We then went to the (freezing) outside lobby and were patiently waiting as we saw people come and go. After about 30 minutes it’s is now 12:50 and we go and ask to see what the hold up is and the excuse is that we didn’t have reservation so its going to be a while. Please keep in mind that we joined the waitlist at 11am, arrived at 11:30, checked in 3 times and were #1 on the list since 12:15pm. We still continue to patiently wait. At 1:15 I now cannot wait any longer I haven’t eaten all day, I go and ask what is going on and I over hear another employee tell the front host that she hasn’t to make sure she selects arrived when the person comes in. The front host comes back to me and tells me it’s because I don’t have a reservation. At this point I am frustrated with reason. We have waited for 2 hours. They said they were sorry for the wait. We finally sit down at 1:20 and I honestly didn’t even want to be there any more. The table she brought us to still had the Check from the people before. She didn’t even wipe it down just took the check and placed our menus down. Our server Reyna was great and recommended her favorites to us but unfortunately due to everything else we just weren’t in the mood anymore. We place our order around 1:30pm and the food was there by 11:45pm and we left before 2pm. The drinks were really good but the cups were still dirty from before. I order the Carne Asada Bowl ($25)it was a 5/10 I understand it had onions in it but I wasn’t expecting onions in each bite. My husband order the El Diablito ($25) and he gave it 4/10. It lacked flavor and seasoning, he only ate it because he was hungry. We quickly wrapped it up and ordered the check. The restaurant didn’t offer anything for our horrible experience. All we received was a “I’m sorry for your wait”. I literally saw people go in, eat and leave while I was sitting in the waiting room. Unacceptable and highly disappointed. Never again.
