Moved to town a year ago and as an avid sports fan I've been looking for a quiet pub with great food to enjoy my sports. Finally decided to try them out and wasn't disappointed. The burger was huge and delicious and I tried their sampler and the sauces were on point. Can't wait to go back

Food was really good, i would recommend the wings, ask for extra sauce its a little dry. Small place, friendly local crowd. Owner always present. Enjoy 4.00 pints for specials and strong steaks on Wednesday.

A small cozy Irish pub. I was very impressed with the service. I had a porterhouse steak, was too large for the plate and the prices were very reasonable. It is also very nice to see the owner going to the tables making sure everyone's is enjoying their meal. I will definitely be going back to Cavanaughs!

Just had another delicious dinner at Cavanaugh's in Blue Point, NY. They have the best steak around! Tender and delicious and perfectly seasoned and cooked. I love their sweet potato fries with their special dip on the side. None other compares! We live local to Cavanaugh's so we eat here often and are never disappointed!

What a gem!!!!! I wanted to celebrate a friend of mine accomplishment. I told him to pick the place and I was buying and let me tell you, worth every penny. I got the porterhouse, marinated. Eating this meal was no more difficult than breathing. The more I ate, the more I wanted. Topped off with a slice if cheesecake. I brought my two children along. My oldest had a hot dog and fries. My youngest, grilled cheese. Both devoured their food and asked for ice cream. This place has character and the staff was great. Definitely on the short list of places I am looking forward to returning to.

Great wait staff, attentive management, food is solid and well priced. The whole interior is decorated from floor to ceiling, and across the ceiling too. There is a bar section with tables and a dedicated dining area separate from the bar. The environment is warm and family orientated, and peaceful. Would recommend to people of all ages

The meat blend they used is spectacular... .It really hit my tastebuds the right way. The bun was fresh, a bit soft, but held up well against the juicy burger.. The price was right , $14.50 WITH bacon and cheese. The fries were crispy as I like them. My dining partner had the French Onion Soup, as it was one of the Specials. She said it was up there with one of the best she's had in a while. The service was great!!! Our waitress was quick, professional, upbeat, and funny It was busy, as they have a few popular specials on Tuesdays, one being a $22 porterhouse.. The table next to us both ordered it, and they said they loved it. Thanks Merissa They have their own parking lot, but it fills up quick..There is also street parking. I've never had a problem there This burger is in my Top Tier , Top 5 territory.. Which is getting very crowded.I'm going to have to budge my stubbornness thinking I can decide the 5 best, when there are truly numerous "TopTier" burgers on Long Island, and on my Radar Screen; which is all of Suffolk County, and an occasional foray into the 516 territory.Cavanaughs, Blue Point

They even gave out a lot of st paddys day souvenirs like hats,necklaces, shirts and more! The restaurant is so unique with all of its decor and you spend the entire dinner looking at it, it’s incredible detail. The food tasted homemade, the corned beef was perfectly seasoned, and their beverage menu was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this place!

The Delmonico Steak was outstanding. So was the Baileys Cheesecake.

It was very loud. We were right by the bat. Maybe I'll ask to eat in the back next time. Altjough the food was delish.

Cavanaugh's is a Bayport Blue Point staple! The family who owns it are incredible people who truly care about their community and patrons. The food is very good and the service is outstanding. On their menu I suggest their Shepards pie and the stuffed flounder.

Always good food, multiple different types of dishes including very good seafood and crustaceans. Would definitely recommend if you like seafood and a high energy bar environment. Upper Middle class people for the most part if that matters to you. The chicken fingers are a little weird but they taste okay. Not great not bad just okay.

I had the Porter House special and my wife had the Salmon special. The dining room was not packed with people but the entrees came out barely warm one person had to send their meal back because was actually cold. They may have been something wrong with the heat in the dining area cuz it was quite chilly. My wife salmon even though she acts not to have it dry it still came out overcooked. My steak was cooked perfectly unfortunately it was just barely warm. Everything was tasty unfortunately the temperature of the room in the meal was about the same.

6 people at a table built for 4. Uncomfortable. Asked for a bigger table but needed 7. Potatoe skins were that skins no sign of Potatoe. Could not chew.. my burger was great. Would still give it a second try.

I liked it. The bar seats about 10. There are about enough seating in the booths for 20 people. The food is very reasonably priced. They have around 6 to 7 taps for beer. The service is good and the food was good as well. They have parking. It is right on the street which makes it easy to spot. It is a bit dark inside but you get use to it. There are a lot if TVs (they are small). I will go back.

It was a very average experience nothing amazing, nothing horrible. I have nothing bad to say about it but I also don't have anything great to say about it. The service was the best around though.

Had the Porterhouse special which was ordered medium rare. Came out well done and was quite tough. Did not complain or send back as I was guest of friend who loves the place.

Had a bowl of chili, flavor good had to send back ,wasn't hot. Had the special marinated pork chops. Overcooked and dry. Had to send back the baked potato wasn't hot either was my side of broccoli.

Horrible Horrible food, big change from years ago. Hamburger was Shrunken and dry. The bun was so old they had to toast it, making it even dryer. Onion rings were over deep fried. It was definitely gross and not worth going inside. 38.00 spend was Charity because the food is garbage.

I ordered a turkey burger a regular burger rare and chicken tenders when I got home I had shepherds pie chili and garlic bread so I called them oh we gave u the wrong order so I had to drive all the way back they did nothing for me what a bunch of idiots won’t be making that mistake again no money back or a free burger nothing

Very disappointed when you hear great things about a restaurant and nothing is good about it. We went Thursday night to Cavanaugh's in Blue Point. Steaks were burnt not charred. Very small portions of over steamed vegetables with no flavor whatsoever. Very small portions overcooked frozen French fries. Unknowledgeable waitress. I was so hoping Cavanaugh's would be a regular monthly visit but Thursday was and will be our only visit
