So-o-o good! My family absolutely loves the Butter Chicken, the Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Garlic Basil Naan. We don't eat a lot of spicy food so we always request everything mildly spicy. It is always a real treat when we have their great food! My kids practically fight over taking any leftovers for their school lunches. I can't rate the atmosphere as we usually get take-out. All I can say is...YUMMY! October 11, 2025 Got chicken biryani, lamb biryani, naan, butter chicken samosas for a small family celebration after all of our children finished their final exams with great success! We were so happy and full of great food! Thank you Shangri-La! All was perfect!

The food was very flavorful, prices are good, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Strongly recommend trying this place, especially the lunch specials.

I have been going to the Sangrila restaurant for a while. My most favorite foods are momos, butter chicken, chicken curry, garlic Nan and tandoori chicken. Service is excellent. The owner Marina is very nice and sweet. Specially, whoever eat Indian food should try the food from Sangrila. It is located across Sonoma State. I recommend this restaurant to everyone. ❤️💯. I've been a regular for 16 years. It's consistently delicious, with the same fantastic service. After years of moving around the Bay Area I still have never found a Nepali restaurant even close the the quality of Shang. Also happy to report that they now offer dairy free creamy curries expanding their vegan options!

I can't recommend this place enough. Delicious food and an amazing staff. I'm always greeted, and they welcome me back every time. I go so often they've gotten to know my order by heart. Good comes in generous portions, and their garlic cheese naan is to die for. If you want some delicious curries or any other kind of Himalayan food, you can't go wrong here.

We lived in Fremont for 6 years. This is, hands down, the best Indian food north of Fremont.

Love the chicken Tikka and the naans I've been a huge fan of this restaurant ever since I discovered them. The naans are fresh and hot with multiple seasoning options its amazing. The heat is there to when you order the Tikka hot it's intense just what I'd like for hot Tikka.

The food and service here is outstanding. We've had several dishes here including Lamb Tikka Masala, Chicken Curry and Chicken Tikka Masala and all dishes are excellent. Also, the Naan here has that perfect texture and has great flavor (so much better than any other Indian or mediterranean restaurants we have visited). Excellent quality and tasty food. Highly recommended restaurant in a rather quiet shopping/restaurant area in Rohnert Park across the street from SSU.

What a great family business! They are warm and hospitable and really care about customer satisfaction. The chicken tika masala was the most moist we’ve had. You can’t go wrong if you make your way to this side of town for Nepalese/ northern Indian food.

This place is amazing. The owner always makes everyone feel welcome, my kids just love her. Great food, good portion size, and all of the curries come with rice. Try it out during lunch, when you get a meal for a really good price. You will not be disappointed.

We visited this place on a Monday afternoon, and it wasn’t busy at all. They’ve ample seating inside, and the ambience inside is quite warm. They’ve the artwork from Nepal on the walls too which was nice to see. Coming to the food, we ordered Chicken Chho-ela and it was quite delicious. They served it in a papadum(in Hindi we call it papad), and that was a nice twist to the dish. Chicken chho-ela is essentially boneless chicken marinated with spices, garlic, onion and cilantro. It made for a great appetiser. For the main course, we ordered chicken curry which was delectable. The garlic cilantro naan was great as well, quite crispy. They had quite a few other delicious looking dishes, some of which I’ll be sure to try next time. They’re located in the strip mall and are quite conspicuous. There’s a lot of parking available as well. Thank you to the polite and prompt staff!

AMAZING FOOD AND EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. This place has been a staple for my family and I who live so close and has consistently met expectations food wise. However, what prompted this review is the service I received when I ordered takeout. Having surgery on my Achilles a month ago and limited to crutches, when I went to pick up my food, the owner(I presume) showed me such kindness as to taking the food to my car when she saw me walk in with crutches. She made sure I got back in the car safely without falling and proceeded to hand me my food so that I wouldn't have to carry it with my crutches. She had no reason to help me out as the service is not required after stepping out of the restaurant, but she went above and beyond for me which will have me coming back for sure.

One of my favorite spots to grab food, either in-house or to go. Everything is delicious and the people are so kind and welcoming. I am weak at handling spice and their mild tikka masala is perfection for me, every time.

As I came in to pick up my order she started to repack it so it would be easier for me to carry on my bike. She then tells me to let them know next time if I'm picking up my order by bike and they would pack it for bike carry and it would be ready to go when I got there. I appreciate that type of customer service.

The service was prompt and friendly. The food was fresh, but, for me, a little bland. I was surprised at the lack of flavor. We had the samosas to start: they were packed with mildly seasoned almost-mashed potatoes, very little of other things like peas or spices. We also had the lentil soup to start. Nice texture and a generous amount, but again, very bland. It needed salt. For our main course, my husband got the eggplant potato curry and I got the tofu chili. My tofu chili was perfectly spiced for me. Nice! I really enjoyed this dish. However, the eggplant was very oily and, again, bland. I would give this place another shot but each dish was individually priced and I felt we overpaid. If your wallet if thick and you like your food very mildly seasoned, then give this place a shot. Otherwise, just go for Mexican. ;)

They always forget something in my order and offer to add it free next time I come. It's a manipulative trend with them to keep me coming back. How hard is it to give me what I pay for? I order the same thing every time by phone?! I have never eaten in because it is a tiny store front with tables tops packed uncomfortably close. I don't want the next tables elbows and baby in my dinner conversation. They take advantage of the fact there are no other options around them but fast food and a juice shack.

Online ordering was not helpful, the prices are very high for the food you get, and the vibe from the staff was weird and rude. I waited for ten minutes at least while my box of food got cold on their counter. Food was not bad, but also not much better than something frozen from Trader Joe's. Probably fine if you dine-in at lunch time and don't expect too much.

We dropped in to order out. They said 15 minutes. It took more than 30. Two of our four dishes were scorched. The "gluten-free" food was cross contaminated judging by how sick I got. It was much too expensive for food to be ineatable and dangerous. Really disappointed this time.

We did take out and it was ok but not great. The daal was all water and burned garlic, I still taste it.. The samosa chaat was a bit strange but fresh with the apple. The chicken mushroom curry was allright. The naan was a no no for me.

Honestly this is the smallest size I've ever seen! For $20 I got more rice than Veggie Masala. Extremely disappointed in the 8oz container. Either charge less or use a standard To-go size, especially for Veggies, spices, and cream. Don't go.

Food was truly terrible. For 20 dollars you got almost nothing. My salmon curry had one single bite of salmon that was old and gross and previously frozen but not properly cooked and my wife's Tikka masala was cheesy? It was honestly the worst food I have had in a very long time. I still feel nauseous from it. Service was great but that's the only positive thing I can say about this place. Save your money and go to any of the places next door. Edit: I'm not paid to say how bad the food is. It's just bad. Avoid at all costs.
