Una terrazza con vista e cuore: Maio Restaurant alla Rinascente di Via del Tritone Una serata sulla terrazza del ristorante Maio è molto più di una semplice cena: è un’esperienza che unisce eleganza, attenzione al cliente e una vista mozzafiato nel cuore di Roma. Nonostante l’affluenza e una breve attesa, l’accoglienza è stata impeccabile. Il personale ha saputo gestire tutto con professionalità e gentilezza, facendoci sentire subito a nostro agio. La lista dei cocktail, seppur interessante, non rispecchiava pienamente i nostri gusti, ma qui entra in scena Francesco, il responsabile di sala: con grande intuito e disponibilità, ha saputo consigliarci alla perfezione, interpretando le nostre preferenze e sorprendendoci con proposte su misura. Un ringraziamento speciale va anche a Summi, il nostro cameriere, sempre sorridente e cortese, che ha reso il servizio ancora più piacevole con la sua presenza attenta ma discreta. In sintesi: una location suggestiva, un servizio che fa la differenza e un team che lavora con passione. Torneremo, altroché!

Siamo andati li per un caffè e un the nel primo pomeriggio di un sabato freddo. Accoglienza molto gentile, servizio attento, the di ottima qualità sebbene la selezione infusi sia da estendere (solo due, inclusa la camomilla), buono il caffè. Prezzi corretti. Location eccellente!

Esperienza raffinata al Maio Restaurant & Rooftop della Rinascente di Roma Dopo lo shopping, un aperitivo al sesto piano con vista spettacolare sulla città si è rivelato il perfetto finale di giornata. Ottimo servizio, con una menzione speciale per Alex, impeccabile e attento, capace di coniugare professionalità e discrezione. Nonostante l’affluenza, personale sempre gentile e disponibile. Atmosfera elegante, prodotti di qualità e location suggestiva. Ci tornerò con molto piacere.

Located on the top floor of the Rinascente luxury mall, this spot offers a relaxed, consistent, and friendly experience. It's a great spot if you're looking for a chill afternoon dining experience. I ordered a bottle of wine to enjoy while the ladies shopped. With free Wi-Fi, good background music, and great service, I couldn't have asked for more.

Top Floor Restaurant with a wonderful view over Rome. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We went there for lunch after shopping and sightseeing in the area, and we can especially recommend the Risotto Milanese, Polpo bbq, Roastbeef di tonno and Focaccia with ham and figs. All the dishes were delicious, reasonably priced, and the perfect size for a light lunch. I liked the stylish yet relaxed atmosphere, as well as the beach club-style background music. I would highly recommend stopping by MAIO while shopping in the area.

The food is fantastic. I ate at many good restaurants but this never disappoints me. The pasta is fresh, I especially love their lobster and cacio e pepe pasta. Usually the big Restaurants in the Rinacentes in Italy are really good like in Milan. Ofc it’s not cheap but I think it’s fair for the quality and atmosphere. You have a great view, great food and great cocktails. You don’t coke there just to fill your stomach with something you come there to enjoy. If you’re not ready to pay that much then just get a coffee or something small. You don’t have to pay much to enjoy it there. The only thing negative is that especially the younger Hostesses/servers are a bit unfriendly. They are a bit arrogant or snobbish.

Assolutamente niente male!! Personale specialmente uno dei camerieri molto cortese e attento. Superlativo il prosciutto senese con la mozzarella di bufala. Disponibilità sul gluten free (anche se con conoscenza di base, come mi è parso). Senza tovaglie, il che ormai va per la maggiore anche se non mi fa impazzire. Ci tornerei, se si va alla Rinascente. Non di proposito

Location bella ma non bellissima(consiglio terrazze hotel dintorni piazza Navona quella si che è meraviglia) ma soprattutto costi non giustificabili. Un drink di media ha un costo di 15euro e ci potrebbe stare se non fosse strapieno di ghiaccio (non sai se c è o no il drink) ma soprattutto accompagnato da mini mini mini ciotoline di tre cose salate diverse ma non tre a persona ma soltanto 10 per 8 persone!!! Ma sprecatele due lire in più e mettete almeno due, tre mini ciotole a testa!!! Per questo perdete davvero mille punti... Che amarezza eppure basterebbe così poco... Mah

Located on top of the Rinascente department store, this is the go-to place for gorgeous views of the city. There is a queue to get a table on the rooftop but to get a place on the bar side is quite easy. Getting attention from the waiters was super hard - I had to approach the table and they stopped talking to serve. The drinks were pretty good though. Good place to rest after a long shopping day - but would I go there on purpose? I think there are better places.

Excellent atmosphere and location. The biggest let down was the menu at the restaurant - the complimentary bread arrived cold as if it was stored in the fridge, we ordered the cacio e pepe and ravioli, the latter was disappointingly bland with only the pasta and vegetables having the most flavour.

We visited MAIO Restaurant & Rooftop for the incredible views, and the atmosphere and setting definitely did not disappoint. It's a stunning location for a meal. Our experience with the food, however, was a bit mixed, especially considering the prices. We started with the Insalata Mista, which was very fresh and tasty. The Pinsa Caprese was okay but didn't quite stand out. Unfortunately, the chef's special, the "Primo del Giorno," which cost €38, was a particular letdown and didn't meet our expectations. With main courses averaging around €25, we felt the overall quality of the food didn't justify the cost. A fantastic rooftop with a great atmosphere. Sadly, the food fell short of our expectations and was the weak point of our visit.

Reservation recommended. Came for a birthday dinner from NYC. Beautiful atmosphere and stunning view given seating selection. Wanted the rooftop view but was told an event was taking place which was unfortunate. Nevertheless the balcony view was not too bad. Service was efficient and friendly. Food not so much especially for the pricing took a few bites and discarded it. The drinks and my tiramisu dessert was delicious

The burger and fries were great, the salad was refreshing but didn’t wow me. The view was a 3/5, you can’t see any of the big landmarks, so don’t go to that rooftop if that is what you are hoping for. We just wanted to chill and it was a nice enough view.

I’m sure it would have been good, but I made a reservation online after viewing the menu, and when we arrived we were told there was only a tasting menu with no choices for double the cost of the higher menu items per person, or we’d have to sit inside the mall to access the promoted menu. We chose to leave. The staff was not friendly, and clearly didn’t want our children (15, 12, 8) on the rooftop restaurant despite the website saying it was family friendly. It was about 80% empty when we were there.

Beverages were good. Setting could be very nice. We were seated in the sunniest spot on the patio near a very loud speaker. Several shaded tables in other areas away from the loud music. Could we perhaps move to a more comfortable area? No, it’s impossible. Why? Not sure. But incredibly hot, can’t see anything and can’t hear. Unaccommodating. Come after sunset, or don’t gamble. Will not return. Well, unless after sunset and someone else is picking up the tab.

Io e la mia famiglia ci siamo fermati a pranzo per approfittare del bel tempo. La location è molto bella indubbiamente, ma finisce li. Servizio pessimo. Avevamo finito di mangiare e mio padre non aveva ancora la portata. Detto piu volte e niente. Musica a tutto volume totalmente fuoriluogo e che non consentiva di parlare. Cibo di bassa qualita a prezzi esorbitanti. Strabocciato.

✅La location è indubbiamente molto bella, il rooftop aperto offre una vista importante su Roma. Ma finisce tutto qua. 🚫Il servizio l’abbiamo trovato abbastanza approssimativo per il posto, la ragazza che ci serviva era decisamente esausta e svogliata. Abbiamo avuto alcuni problemi con il tavolo che ballava e con gli snacks dell’aperitivo non portati, per richiamare la sua attenzione…una impresa. Probabilmente per i tanti tavoli che ci sono avere solo 2/3 persone a servizio non basta. Veniamo al cibo: la Maio salad (20€!) arriva con 3 foglie di verdure e qualche pezzettino di pollo e gamberetti. Impresentabile. Il salmone, 4 pezzetti in fila, mini. Alla fine per due piatti miseri e due bicchieri di vino (rosato e bollicina) 76€. Ma scherziamo? Sconsigliato per cibo e servizio. Se proprio dovete, prendete solo un drink sulle sedute che affacciano sul bordo balcone che da su Roma.

Location indubbiamente spettacolare: una terrazza con una vista mozzafiato, una delle più belle su Roma. Anche il personale si è dimostrato gentile e professionale, nulla da eccepire su questo aspetto. Detto ciò, il sovrapprezzo per la vista è francamente esagerato, soprattutto considerando la quantità e la qualità di ciò che abbiamo consumato: una caprese, un’insalata con gamberetti, quattro piccoli pezzi di pizza bianca e due calici di vino bianco per un totale di 96 euro. I calici, pagati 15 euro ciascuno, erano peraltro di qualità davvero pessima. A rendere l’esperienza ancora più sgradevole è stato il contesto umano: una presenza massiccia di persone estremamente cafone nel vero senso della parola, rozze nei modi e nel comportamento. Un ambiente rumoroso e maleducato che stona completamente con l’idea di una terrazza “di livello”. In sintesi: panorama eccezionale e staff all’altezza, ma cucina non adeguata ai prezzi richiesti e atmosfera rovinata da una clientela decisamente inappropriata. Un posto che vive di immagine, ma che lascia molto a desiderare nell’esperienza complessiva.

The rooftop has a breathtaking view of Rome, but our experience was ruined by the staff. They let us up, but as soon as we arrived, we were told to watch the view from the stairs, with a rude and arrogant attitude. Being allowed to just enjoy the view without ordering shouldn’t be so difficult.

If you want a nice evening dinner with a view in Rome do NOT go to this place! Myself and my friend booked a last minute evening meal for my birthday as the whole trip was last minute. They were very rude, didn’t offer us drinks other than water at the start or if we had any allergies which one of us did and just brought out bread when my friend is allergic to gluten. We then told them and they gave us gluten free bread aswell. We were then charged for this, we were not asked if we even wanted it. From then on, we felt stared at, judged and talked about. It was made very obvious we were not welcome, they paid more attention to others that were spending loads of money. We would have spent more had we been offered drinks and had better service. The food was okay but very small portions for the price, I definitely will not be recommending or coming back. We stayed for a total of 40 minutes and then got a taxi back to the hotel, having to order a pizza. Also the view is just rooftops, nothing exciting!

We visited MAIO Restaurant & Rooftop Roma about a week and a half ago. This review focuses solely on the service we experienced. Unfortunately, our visit was marked by what felt like subtle but undeniable discrimination. While others around us were promptly served with smiles and received complimentary snacks, we found ourselves waiting significantly longer for our drinks. The staff remained distant—no smiles, no acknowledgment—and we repeatedly had to try and catch their attention, unlike other guests who were effortlessly attended to. It left us feeling uncomfortable and out of place. We paid the same prices as everyone else, and the only apparent difference was the colour of our skin. It’s disheartening to face this kind of treatment in 2025, especially in a cosmopolitan tourist destination. If a venue cannot offer the same level of service to all guests regardless of background, it has no place catering to an international crowd. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works toward creating a more inclusive and respectful environment for everyone.
