Visited this cozy Greek Restaurant with my sister and daughter. The food was delicious with generous portions (we each took half of our meals home). The owner was very friendly and recognized us from a previous visit. My Daughter follows a gluten free diet and there were many food options on the menu that are gluten free including breads tortillas and cheesecake! We shared a slice of gluten free cheesecake for dessert, unsure if we would like it being it was gluten free, but it was light, creamy, not too sweet and as delicious as it looked! Kasos is a hidden gem in Roscoe.
Nice place and a really cute street. The food was delicious and the staff are extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend it to a friend.
Loved the food and the atmosphere. The owner was very nice, friendly when she greeted us and other customers. She was very personable, the food was delicious. If you pay with cash, she offers 4% discount. The portions were a nice size but the prices for lunch were expensive.
I just picked up my order (the lamb gyro platter) minutes ago…Im on my way back home and was looking for a quick off-and-on bite to eat that was actually food (I.e. not McDonald’s or other members of the fast food hell community)…I expected it to be “meh” at best bc that’s normally the case at a random spot off a highway. This gyro was so ridiculously good, that I inhaled the thing, and in turn, felt compelled to come on here (which I don’t do often ftr) and do the world a favor by telling people to go to Kasos in Roscoe and order a lamb gyro. I’ll leave with this, I’m part Greek, I worked in Manhattan for years…the point is I’ve had my fair shar of killer gyros…this was shockingly top tier, and possibly the best I’ve ever had. No, that’s not hyperbole. A 4.5 star rating is borderline offensive for how quality their food was. I’d give 6 stars if I could. Keep it up Kasos ✌️🫶🙏
We visited on a whim driving home from an adventure in the southern tier. When we pulled into town at 4pm on a Tuesday, town was buttoned up tight, but Kasos was open! The eggplant dip was great, though the Pita to dip ratio for hummus and eggplant dip was quite irregular... one pita per 10 dollar dip. These were not value options. The gyro was top notch, thick moist lamb, fresh onions, perfect yogurt sauce. Impeccable rural New York Gyro. The mixed kabob plate was amazing. A portion was 2 skewers. Great product. Slightly small portion. A third skewer of chicken would have really made it a meal. They did forget one of our Salads as well... but... the food was fresh and healthy, and the folks were more than nice enough!! And the Roscoe Brewery Pilsner was absolutely perfect!!
They greeted us warmly and brought drinks and food promptly. The waitress and the owner checked on us to make sure everything tasted good. It was clean and friendly, and the paintings on the wall gave it a cozy feel.
Phenomenal! We stopped at this tiny spot on the way to my parent’s cabin up in Arkville, and it was delicious! I got the lamb gyro and my son got a (less adventurous) bacon cheeseburger. My gyro was very tasty, the lamb was season perfectly. The vegetables were crisp and the pita was soft, warm and delicious. It came with a Greek salad that, while not truly Greek (it had lettuce) it was wonderful nonetheless. My son ordered his burger medium rare and it came closer to medium well, but he said it tasted great, regardless. Highly recommend this little spot!
We were in Livingston Manor and my son found this place on google maps and wanted to try it. It looks modest from the outside and we weren’t sure what to expect when we got there. It smelled amazing when we walked in and we could already tell it was going to be good. We had the skordalia garlic dip to start and it was amazing.m - the pitas were soft and satisfyingly chewy. Plan to avoid people for the next 24 hours because you will reek of garlic and it’s sooo worth it. We also tried the pork and chicken souvlaki platter and gyro and everything was delicious. Even the side salad had homemade dressing that was so good we ate it all. It was also fun to drink mythos beer again, which we haven’t had since being in Greece. We finished with some baklava that was perfectly sweet, flaky, and sticky - just the way it should be. We had a great meal and already can’t wait to go back next time we are in the Catskills!
We grabbed dinner to go while passing through Roscoe on a road trip, and our meal was unexpectedly phenomenal!! The stuffed grape leaves were luscious and the falafel platter was both generously portioned and perfectly prepared. The pita & hummus tasted distinctly fresh and homemade. And definitely don’t skip dessert! The tiramisu was heavenly, but tres leches and cheesecake looked just as divine. We will absolutely dine at Kasos again if we are ever in the area!
Great food, great service! We stopped in for lunch during the week were greeted promptly and served quickly. The menu has something for everyone, we had gyro platters and everything came out hot, fresh and delicious. The owner personally checked on us to make sure we were happy. We had a great lunch in a beautiful restaurant in a quaint little town.
Mostly good restaurant but there is room for improvement. The Greek coffee I ordered once wasn't made properly. It had little to no foam on top. The saganaki is pretty good. The spinach pie and Greek salad is good. They make a delicious orange cake. My girlfriend ordered a muffin here which she liked very much. The waitstaff is friendly. There is nice paintings on the wall of Kasos (which I have visited). Mike Kritikos, the owner, showed me some videos and music of Kasos on the television. Oddly though he forgot who I was when I visited a year later. I usually come to this restaurant when I visit Roscoe, New York. I usually come out here once a year.
The food here is good, restaurant is like a bit of a hole in the wall. Staff is very pleasant but I wish they were more clear about things like that asking for water meant getting a bottle of water, bottled soda or bottled tea rather than the tap fountain variety. Seats and tables were folding chairs and folding tables so it was not the most comfortable but they did seat 6-8 people. Portions are fairly large, prices were decent and food was delicious, small issues aside I would recommend those looking for some good Greek faire to pay this place a visit.
Was passing through the area and decided to check this local spot out. Cute and cozy. Moderately busy, especially on the outside seating. Service was great and swift. The food was good. The meat was cooked perfectly and great flavor. Only complaint is the fries were all stuck together in a ball. Had to keep ripping them apart. But still recommend it if your in the area for a bite.
Total rip off a small piece of spinach pie for close to $20. Very thin okay tasting slick w avoiding telling me the price. When I complained he offered me a muffin. I'll never go back. So many places in Sillivan w much better and much cheaper spinach pie.
I patronized this establishment a few times with acceptable food and service, even recommending it to others. Yesterday I ordered the lunch special Italian hoagie for $8.99, at lunchtime. The owner charged me $17.00 for the average sandwich and one 12 ounce can of Coke. What upsets me most is that I paid it instead of just walking away. I won't be back.
All things considered, this place is do-able for lunch if you are out of other options. Greek is more of a suggestion here than the choice cuisine. The wait was damn long, and the service was very slow, however the waitress was very nice and seemed to be busy doing her job. Ok now the food, #1 dip platter was a disappointment, our group particularly did not care for the babaganoush, some of my friends said it was sewer adjacent. I think the hummus tastes fresh which was good but it was a bit mild for my palette. I had the lamb gyro, i honestly can not be sure it was actually lamb? Also it was slapped with tzatziki sauce and made it very messy to eat. The flavor was meh. Finally the one thing i thought would be the least contested is the greek salad. In the other reviews it looks proper and authentic, but ours had a lot romaine lettuce, and this entire experience makes me question if anyone has been to Greece or or is the food being catered to an americana centric diet, you decide!
