Opinions de Little Mama's Round Rock
Went in on 2/16/26. I had the best service and best filipino food experience. Lady on the front was very patient and sweet. I had their lumpia and bbq stick very authentic flavor. Really recommend 👍🏻
This place is my favorite place for Filipino food. I’ve been going to them since they first opened. After I moved out of Round Rock, make it a point to order something from them if I’m passing through via I35. Delicious food and friendly staff.
I started with an individual’s portion of pancit and lumpias. It was “to die for” as fresh as can be. I know be cause it was fresh and out of the skillet hot. The lumpias were as great. Later I ordered the Filipino bbq skwers. The lady has been taking my orders was excellent. She even suggested that I get the garlic rice. I went with her suggestion. The combination of the garlic rice with the bbq skewers was mouth watering. These orders were in preparation for a major catering order. We ordered those items except for 20 to 30 people. The major order was just as mouth watering.
This place checks all the boxes - family owned with authentic Filipino flavors and variety. After loosing access to homemade Filipino food in my second divorce, I thought my access to those family dishes was gone for good. Then I found Little Mama’s and I get ALL the flavor without the six different personalities. If you are new to the cuisine, come in and ask a few questions. There are plenty of non-spicy dishes to please the most timid mid-western stomach. Seating is limited so if you have a larger group, consider calling ahead for take out.
Benji here, I have never tasted white rice fresher in my life, the menu item #1 was so delicious, juicy chicken, the soy sauce is smooth to the soul, this place is my number 1 spot for comfort food now
I love little Mama’s! It’s one of the few places I’ve been in Austin that really tastes like that authentic Filipino food that I grew up with. It’s like eating at home in the Philippines. It’s truly a gem and they are so so kind and friendly. My favorites have been lechon kawali, kare kare, tortang talong.
So far I have had their Pancit Bihon, Lechon Kawali (fried pork belly) and Lumpia. Servings are huge, each dish could easily serve 2 people. Everything was delicious and made fresh, so it take 15-25ish minutes to get your food it's absolutely worth the wait. No bathroom available so plan ahead. Will be back, again and again to try another new to me Philippino dish!!
GIVE THEM A TRY! DONT hesitate, Filipino food is already tasty but here, the BBQ PORK, PANCIT BIHON, & CHICKEN ADOBO hit the spot! I was craving authentic Filipino dishes that was introduced to me on an Army base 3yrs ago…. It’s been that long! They delivered EXACTLY what I’d hope to taste!
Came in to pick up my order but ended up deciding to dine in. The food did take a little while, but it was clearly made with love because everything I had was delicious. The lechon (crispy roasted pork) had the perfect crackly skin, and the pancit (stir fried noodles) was full of flavor. For dessert, I tried the ube cheesecake and the halo-halo. The ube cheesecake had great texture, though I wish the ube flavor had been a little stronger. The halo-halo (a shaved ice dessert) was the highlight for me. It reminded me a bit of Vietnamese chè ba màu (three-color dessert), especially with the sweet mix of textures and the scoop of ice cream on top. I loved the bits of jello too. It was my first time trying halo-halo and I'll definitely be back for it. The experience is more self-service than full dine-in, but I didn't mind that. You place your order at the counter and there's only a few small tables to sit at. There's a separate table with to-go boxes, napkins, and utensils so you can help yourself when needed. The staff was really nice and I liked that it was quiet and peaceful when we visited around 2 PM on a weekday. There's plenty of parking in the lot, which is always a bonus.
Taste and smells like home!! I cook Filipino food for my wife and kids but sometimes I want to take a break but I haven’t really found a spot that suffices in the Austin area…UNTIL NOW!! The Lechon Kawali, bangus and sisig were all on point. Little Mama’s has earned my business for life! Wife states my pancit and lumpia are better but we know there’s some bias there 😏 Maraming salamat sa staff, super welcoming and friendly!!
This was the best Filipino food I have ever had in a very long time (I’m originally from overseas so this is my soul food). Service was amazing, place was clean, and all around, a great place to sit down and eat or get takeout from. 10/10, wish they had this where I’m going to college right now. (Had the pancit and lumpia 🫶)
This is the best Filipino food spot near Austin, in my opinion. Got here on Sunday around 11:15am. I ordered lumpia, pancit, and Filipino BBQ as well as the lechon. I had to look a little hard for this little gem of a hole in the wall. The service was amazing as I was greeted and told about the specials and the items on the menu. After ordering, it started getting busy, and more customers walked in, but the food was amazing! The lumpia was crispy and packed full of flavor, and they were stuffed. The pancit had a little vinegar after taste but seasoned well. Also, the BBQ had chicken and pork as it was tender and juicy with just the right amount of charcoal on it and that sauce. The lechon crispy and thick cuts as well the meat were tender and rich of flavors. Loved this place, and i am looking forward to exploring more of their menu next time.
What an absolute feast of goodness! First time trying authentic Filipino food, and wow, that first bite bought me in. Everything was exceptional! The way they cook the pork is such a delicacy. The sisig and lechon kawali (crispy pork) are simply addictive. We also tried the beef calderata, an incredibly soothing beef stew. The wait is a bit long as there’s only one cook, so it can get as long as 45 minutes. You can call ahead but the wait is worth it! Super recommend! Hope they can expand their business, because they got all the potential to do so!
The only thing to note is that you can now dine in however there’s no table service or restrooms. Plastic ware available and has about three tables. Busy with customers with their takeout. All in all the dishes are flavorful and great place to grab some Filipino food. I recommend kare kare (oxtails) you truly can’t go wrong with what you decide. This time I decided eat in and had the eggplant (tortang talong) and the shrimp with coconut kalabasa(squash with green beans). Recommend any desert but this time I picked the green coconut which was sweet with green jello, tapioca pearls and shredded coconut.
Tried Little Mama's during our trip to Austin and by far it was the best meal we had. Filipino Chicken BBQ, Lumpia and Flan were outstanding and highly recommend trying them. Pancit Bihon was pretty good too as was the garlic rice. Portion sizes were huge especially for BBQ which had 4 skewers. We can't wait to come back and try Pinoy Curry and other items on the menu. The most authentic Filipino food in the Austin area. I've had my order for take out only so I can't comment on the place. The ordering process was easy and staff on the phone was pleasant. The printed menu online has limited choices so make sure you check their Facebook page for the updated daily specials before you order. The food was flavourful and delicious- fatty, salty, rich, rustic like how Filipino food should be. Nothing fancy, just good humble cooking. My favorite was the dinuguan and grilled pork belly. A little pricier than usual but it's okay since I don't have to drive 2-4 hrs to satisfy my cravings. Servings were also generous. I'll definitely come back.
Tried Little Mama’s for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived around 12:50pm and didn’t realize they closed at 1:00pm. The lady was nice and said the kitchen could accommodate a lumpia order so we ordered 6 lumpia and they were delicious! Hot, fresh, crispy and generous lot filled with pork and veggies. Sad we didn’t have a chance to try the larger menu but we will be back earlier in the day next time!
Interested in trying something new? Philipino Deserts? Then you all need to come here and give this place a try. The egg flan is so good, thick and creamy, with a light hint of lemon. The cassava cake is nice and dense, not too sweet like others I've tried. I like my cassava cake wet or dry. Lastly Tha Halo Halo, so many flavors and textures, I couldn't explain to you everything in it except for the Ube and shaved ice, I can only tell you how great and refreshing it all comes together. The gal who runs the place is also very sweet. Come give it a try, it won't break the bank. Unfortunately, they only have a Tiny sign on the frontb door, so don't expect to see a big sign on the roof, so it's a little tricky to find.
It was our first time trying Filipino food, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Since we didn't know what to order, we ordered quite a few dishes to try everything. I was excited because everything on the menu looked good. First up we ordered Shanghai Lumpia (fried egg rolls, 12 count). I was too slow to take a picture of the full order because once it landed on our table, it was gobbled up. These are similar yet far better than the fried egg rolls you get at the Vietnamese pho restaurants. They're larger, crispier, and priced better since you're buying them in a batch. You just don't get the staple fish sauce and lettuce as Vietnamese restaurants. In contrast, you're provided a sweet dipping sauce which was just as tasty and paired nicely. I'll go as far as to say that if you come here, you have to get these. It'll be a waste if you didn't. We ordered the adobo (chicken), pancit (rice noodles), another beef stew dish (sorry, don't remember the name). I'll review these collectively because (imho) they are all in the same "mom's kitchen" category. They all tasted good in their own right, but don't expect anything fancy/unique. They're comfort food and I'm assuming very close to what you ate if you grew up in a Filipino home. If I went to a Chinese restaurant and got similar (mind you not exactly the same) dishes, those would probably have more salt/sugar/glaze/etc. Depending what you're looking for, this is good or bad. We got the chicken skewers for the kids which they enjoyed. Keep in mind they've got a tasty char on them, in case your kids don't like that. The final dish we ordered was the roasted pork. When can you ever pass up roasted pork? This was actually something I could confidently review because I've had roasted pork everywhere I've gone. This roasted pork was served differently in that it was cut in larger pieces, with some of the large bones kept intact. I was confused by this at first, but I appreciated the larger bone in the end because it contained tasty morsels of pork that would have otherwise gone in the trash. The pork was a little tough, but the flavor was good. The sauces that came were different, one being clear (vinegar?). Both were good and it was nice to switch up the flavor between bites. What about the million dollar question: How's the skin? From experience, I've had soggy/stale skin that you can't bite all the way to skin from the heavens that crunch and break apart in your mouth while angels sing. I would rate the skin as a 7 of 10. They've got some crunch but I don't think the skin is the supposed to be the star performer here. As you can see we ordered too much food, so we didn't have much room for dessert. I'm not familiar with Filipino desserts, but I'm assuming these are pretty legit. You can see your options in a stand-up fridge at the front, but from what I hear you need to get this shaved ice/ice cream dessert that's on the menu. All in all, I would come back when I have a craving for this kind of comfort food. Everything was well made and service was friendly. If you grew up with this type of food and you're looking for a place to remind your tummy of the good times, I'm positive this place is a slam dunk.
