Margarita 8.5/10 Salsa 7.5/10 Decent atmosphere for lunch. Haven't came at night. Come a lot for lunch. Good bar food specials and lunch specials
The Mole’ enchiladas are delish! 😋 Chips & salsa , staff, everything .. amazing 🤩
It's probably been close to twenty years since I last ate at La Margarita. Today was the first time I've had breakfast here. Let's just say I'll be back before another twenty years go by. I had the migas with sausage mixed in rather than chorizo because it doesn't always set well with my gizzard. The potatoes, refried beans and homemade tortillas were delicious accompaniments to the main event. If you want a place for great Mexican breakfast try it here.
Good fajitas. Fresh flour tortillas being made as you walk in the door. Fresh chips and medium hot sauce. Margaritas are spot on!
If you haven't been, go! I've been going there for years and it's consistently great. The margaritas were perfectly made, the fish tacos were deliciously on point, the black beans were the best I've ever had, the rice was flavorful and fluffy plus the service was impeccable. Not a crumb was left on my plate. I'll be back real soon and highly recommend you give it a try.
Daniela was so kind and accommodating even though we came in in the last hour!! The food was perfect as per usual, the strawberry colada was to die for 🤤
My visit was wonderful, 1st then we were about 15 Sunday morning, the waitress was amazing, very experienced; 2nd the restaurant was clean & inviting; 3rd the food was okay; I think it needed more seasoning, the barbacoa was also a little dry, I do prefer that too greasy; the beans and carne guisada needed more spices; I'll return again.
Had the cheese enchiladas. The food was great, service was great. Cannot complain about the prices. Will come again.
Very good Tex-Mex restaurant. Menu has a great selection. Try the Beef Grilled Special. Beef Fajita strips on a bed of onions, topped with mushrooms, poblano pepper strips, pico de gallo & queso. Served with rice & charro beans. Excellent. Be sure to have a big appetite. Margaritas are mmmm mmmmm.
We had a Birthday Dinner here last week and had impeccable service! She handled our large party with ease, and was very cheerful!
Our server Mauricio was incredible. He took care of our table of 15 or so flawlessly. Food was great as well.
La Margarita Restaurante brings classic Mexican flavors to life with bold, authentic dishes and generous portions. The enchiladas and fajitas are always a hit, and their margaritas are perfectly balanced — strong but smooth. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff make it a go-to spot for both casual dinners and celebrations.
This was my second time here. Each time I ordered something different and its been very delicious. Our waiter was amazing and I apologize I forgot his name but he was on it and made sure my family and I had everything we needed. Thank you!
You can tell a good Mexican restaurant from a great one by how tender the beef fajitas are. I have been here twice recently and they were fall apart tender and delicious. The Monday special on fajitas was an unexpected bargain, pretty rare to find now days. We got fajitas combo for two plus added some shrimp. It was more than enough food for us. (Ok, I did fill up on chips and salsa). The salsa was great, even the beans and rice you could tell were fresh made. Overall a really nice place.
The food is always good and hot. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is good. Tables aren't too close. Margaritas are really good.
I grew up eating here and I love the food so my opinion may be a bit biased. However, the food has always been excellent and the service outstanding. The salsa is really fresh and the queso always great. The tortillas are freshly made every day and authentic. If you can please give La Margarita a try, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars!
Was a great time!! The food was great! And those Margaritas are so delicious they're lethal!! The only bad thing wasn't even an issue. We were limited to I think 4 margaritas...would've loved to keep the good times going but I absolutely understand why they have this rule so...I still give 5 stars!
Honestly don't know how this place doesn't have a higher rating ....Always great service and food been here twice in the last 2 weeks! Well apparently my choice on the menu has changed i can't have one quesadilla shrimp and one chicken as the last 8 times i came here but that's fine it started off a little shaky with our waitress but she ended up being ok and still great food and to go there around 1:30 on a Sunday a busy time still only having to wait 15 minutes you can't beat that ....First time we had to wait at all and we have been here many times...so my experience was not the same but still closer to a 5 star rating and not 4 overall.. Always know what I am getting good service and phenomenal food and drinks in my opinion...
Food is good, service is too. Enjoyed mexican food and it is best we have found to date in Georgetown/Round Rock area.
What a great experience. Rented their banquet room for a baby shower and it was amazing. Friendly and professional staff. Food was delicious. They greeted us at the door, confirmed details, offered to help us set up and decorate, were constantly present but not overbearing, and at the end told us to leave anything we weren't keeping and they would clean it all up. So impressed. They assigned us Armondo and Francisco and they were fantastic! Highly recommend.
The food was incredible! I haven't had Mexican cuisine this good in 20 years! Wonderful, attentive wait staff, fast service, and food was obviously all fresh prepared with detail to even the side dishes! For example, the black beans tasted freshly cooked will attention to seasoning! The Pablano De Pollo was AMAZING! Has to be the best Mexican dish I have had in my life!
La Margarita was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. We went on Taco Tuesday, and it was such a win kids eat free, and the margaritas and beer were delicious and affordable. Perfect spot for a family night out. We’ll definitely be back!
Great queso and chips. Good food and portion for the price. Good service too. We enjoyed this place.
This is our go to place for Mexican food in Round Rock. Every time we come to town to visit we either stop for breakfast or lunch. It’s great.
The ambience and staff were amazing ! We had a waiter his name is Mateo he’s absolutely wonderful . Our party consisted more of kids and he was just on point with everything . Margaritas are very delicious ! Food and tortillas are yummy . We are from. Houston however we will definitely come back when we are in town .
This place was awesome! We came at a optimum busy time, Friday beginning of the month, and at dinnertime (5:30pm). We were greeted kindly and seated right away in a comfortable booth. We were asked our drinks within a few minutes and offered to order about 10 mins later. I was worried because it was busy and we had a 7pm show to go in Austin, but only 15 mins after that our food was ready! The atmosphere was lively and positive with all different kinds of people, families, and groups. It was awesome! The food was fantastic and we were out of there by 6:20 with just enough time to get to the show! Great place! Definitely will go again 😁
We actually dropped in on New Year's Eve. They informed us that they closed early upon entering. We didnt feel rushed and everyone there was very helpful. The food was great and service was quick.
went for breakfast. was pleased w our meals. tasted fresh. who can say no to homade flour tortillas. wait staff was good. very spacious
Best place worth every dollar. Team is amazing. Food is incredible. Take yourself or family its a wonderful experience plus your taste buds aint never had delicious food like this.
We showed up less than two hours before closing (we thought we had more time) with a party of 12 and got seated on less than 10 minutes. The food was delicious and fresh. We had one server(I wish I would have gotten her name Thursday night) who was absolutely perfect! Fast, efficient, and kind! She didn't rush us and she kept conversations with us. Thank you so much for the spectacular service!!!
Friendly & attentive waitstaff. Salsa wasn’t horrible - you have to ask for the salsa verde. Fish tacos were really good. They’re served with black beans on the side & had good flavoring (I wasn’t a fan of them until here). Carne guisada was great & went well with the home made tortillas. The (premium) Mexican margarita was good if you compared it to a wine based margarita; had good flavor but no kick to it.
Food was good, service was great and so was the ambience. I have no complaints. Loved the fajitas and especially the queso. We ordered Chicken Fajitas and special chicken fajitas that came with queso. grilled chicken was very tender and juicy and we loved it. The queso was really good and fresh and complimented chicken perfectly. Portion size were huge and we had to carry out the remaining. On house chips and salsa were pretty good too. IG: journey_man16

Excellent food, family atmosphere, great service. A local favorite. The very generous serving of Chunky Guacamole is an excellent appetizer.
food was great Guacamole was delicious. food portions were decent size. Staff was amazing, wish I could remeber the gentlemans names that served us

First time coming here. Sat in bar area. The El Don margarita was very good. Perfectly balanced. I ordered chicken enchiladas. Menu said "chopped chicken", but it came with shredded chicken, which I really don't like. It didn't help that it was super chewy also. The chips and salsa was very good. And I recommend the queso. Very tasty. Id go back.
The food was delicious, but I would have liked to be served a bit more rice and beans. Homemade flour tortillas were yummy. The tamale was good and didn't need the chili and cheese. The cantarito (paloma) drink was tasty and had two but no buzz (probably would add an addition shot of tequila). Service was super fast but not rushed to leave. Overall, I would go again.
Good food. Chips, salsa and queso were good. Server was knowledgeable about gluten free options.
After our shopping at Cedar park outlet malls, we went to this restaurant as we were hungry and the mall didn’t have any good food. They had speciality drinks based on days and I took Thursday speciality. Martini came out good while my wife liked Margaritas. All of us ordered lunch size menu, but mine came a regular. We had Tacos, Enchiladas and Fajitas, all came good. I recommend going to this restaurant
Haven't been here in a while because last time we were not impressed. This time was different. We shared a fajitas for 2; we're doing low carb right now and brought our own tortillas. Asked about a sugar free margarita and they had a version that used agave and no sugar. Very good!! Server was good and gave accurate info, brought food in a timely manner and offered desserts. Price was moderate but atmosphere was good.
This place always stands out to me, its the first restaurant we stopped buy after putting an offer in on our first home (that we ultimately did not purchase). Great memories, wonderful food and wonderful service. There is never a lengthy wait so my colleagues and I will come here when we are a 10+ party. I love the street tacos and their fast service during the lunch hour.
We visited La Margarita restaurant after a couple of months from our last visit. This time, I decided to put aside items that I normally order, which are either Caldo de Res (Beef soup) or Pescado Parrilla (Grilled fish), and go for a chicken dish called "Rio Grande" that consists of two chicken enchiladas, two chicken tacos and charro beans plus rice. The dish was delicious as the shredded chicken in the enchiladas and tacos were very tasty; the rice was good but I think the charro beans might have been a little overcooked. Overall it was a good dish but I think I will stick to my usual choices next time.
Not a bad experience! The staff (Ana in particular) were so friendly and helpful. I tried the street tacos (carne asada) which were excellent and had a barbacoa taco. I loved the street tacos the best! We had a bit of a snafu with my friend’s order but it was cleared up nicely. Pro Tip: They only serve the barbacoa taco Saturday and Sundays for brunch. 8/10 Tacos 🌮
I rented out the party room for $25 dollars an hour for two hours for a party of 17 which it was big enough with a patio. The food was decent. The service was fast. The only issue I had was as soon as we paid the bill. No one ever came to check on use for refills or if we needed anything TOGO Management never came by once or anything it was a little different from other places that I have rened party rooms from.
I loved the white wings! Chicken breast wrapped over a serrano and bacon fried and dipped in buffalo sauce. Outstanding. The enchiladas are made with a corn/flour tortilla that makes them doughy. The flavor is good but just not how I like them. Veronica is a pro and makes great drinks. She's a great waitress so sitting in the bar area is a plus.

Have been eating here since it had the train car in the old location. The new online order menu update not helpful. Don't fix what wasn't broken
We tried them for the first time today for lunch. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Chips and salsa were below par. I mean really people, remove Mexican from your description if you can't even get that part right. We tried the fajita lunch special. Fajitas were very good. Rice had a wonderful flavor. Beans tasted good. The queso had a strange consistency and not much flavor at all. The decor was welcoming. We really wanted to like this place but it was not to be.
Our server was great. I wish I got her name but she did everything right. The only thing I didn’t like was out of the kitchen and how they made my omelette. I ordered a Mexican omelette which pertain chile, cheese, onions, and tomatoes. I ask for my omelette without tomatoes. Normally, when I order omelettes from restaurants, the onions are sautéed. However, this place did not sauté my onions. So I asked our waiter to have the kitchen remake my omelette, but sauté the onions. She brought it back and the onions were slightly grilled, but not sautéed. They were like fajita onions, which I don’t like. I took the food home so I can have my husband cook it and I noticed the chiles were raw chiles with the seeds in them. I’m removing those to put jalapeños in there when I get home. If I go to the restaurant, I go there for them to make my food not for me to take it home and re-cook it. Aside from the food, the restaurant was hot to where I was sweating. I should have asked them to turn down the heat as the kitchen was making the restaurant hot. On the plus side the restaurant was really clean so that’s a plus. I will try them again and be more specific but I’m still up in the air.
We use to come here alot. Last few times (today for example), the food was very bland. The Verde sauce was very bad. Our fajitas had zero flavor. The charro beans tasted like hot water. The rice had very little flavor. The best part of our meal was the salsa. The tortillas were okay, normally they are usually better than what we had. They tasted kind of raw. We will not be back.
Safe bet for your Tex Mex favorites. I had the lunch special chicken fajitas. The portion was nice for the price. The chicken itself was good, but needed some more spices or to be marinated. Salsa was decent. The rice and beans were pretty standard. Overall a good option for something on this side of town, but not a meal I would travel across town for.
Chunky guac wad indeed chunky guac. we thought it was good. Salsa was pretty good too! I especially enjoyed mixing the salsa guac. And lime! Thats was where it was at! Margaritas were good too just a bit over priced for basic syrup bare minimal alcohol. Moving on to entrees. We ordered fajitas for two steak chicken and shrimp. We got just steak! And quite a bit. So when we asked our server about the other 2 meats she brought me 2 baby bowls of VERY LITTLE CHICKEN AND SHRIMP! All the meats were super tender just not flavorful. Even the tortillas server got wrong. We asked for corn and we got flour. I will admit they were good! Kids got chicken flautas those were super large and pretty good. Rice was good and beans were meh. It was our first visit here and idk it just wasnt an omg! We must come back. For us, what made our experience was a balloon character making lady! She was amazing and talented!

Great service, the waitress was so kind (Fernanda). We made a mistake in an order and she was able to change the full plate with no issues. The place is nice and with great atmosphere and nice, kind, warm people working in it. My son liked his tamales, my wife and I liked the coffee, and that is it. My mole enchiladas “al carbon” did not taste “al carbon”, my wife’s tacos al pastor did not taste “al pastor”, tacos al pastor by definition must have pineapple!. Tortillas are really bad. Beans and rice so dry that looks like the plate was served hours ago. We are not coming back, but anyway we know we will never find a real mexican flavor but in Mexico.
Here's the deal this place is ok just ok at its best. I have been coming here for years and it isn't the quality it used to be. The food is mediocre but edible. Presentation is way down. Here is the break down of these two plates. The pork carnitas were dry as if they have been sitting around, but not long enough to become funky like pork does when it gets old. Beans were tasty, but little under cooked making them pop and gritty when chewed. The rice was very dry as if it has been sitting a while, surprising, because of the amount of traffic. You can look at my photos and kind of get an idea of what I'm talking about. The Carne Asada was chewy. Wasn't impressed by its flavor again mediocre. Beans and rice where the same as above. The asada plate came with an enchilada of choice. We choose the cheese enchilada. It appeared to be served up with Hormal Chilli on top. Definitely not freshly made and came from a container of some kind. The tortilla are probably the highlight of this experience. I could slam a pack with butter. Very fresh very tasty. Sadly over all it seems they have gone to a quality that resembles TV dinners. Honestly I believe I have eaten my last meal from here. Very disheartening as long as they have been in business.
La Margaritas margaritas we’re just ok. We ordered a house and a guava, mediocre at best, the tequila they use tasted awful. Sadly the best thing we were served was service with a smile and the salsa. Salsa is very fresh tasting with no spice at all, refreshing on a summer night. I ordered the Lime Chicken salad (1star) and we got the Chicken tortilla soup (2stars) salty. While they have a dog friendly patio, it is by far the worst patio I’ve ever been to. It is tucked on the side of the restaurant facing a ditch with no breeze or sunlight coming through and while we appreciated the accommodations, we felt so isolated.
Bartender decided to put their own tip on my ticket, didn't find out till 2 days later.
We go out and eat Tex-Mex and Mexican cuisine at least once a week and decided to try this place. Overall we were disappointed. This was a typical Thursday night, though places being open was limited. Service was slow on taking our orders, receiving our food, and just simple refilling of our drinks and chips. We ordered queso and by the time we got it, the cheese was already cooler than it should have been. Our food was no different with just the plates being warmer than our food. We daw our server a total of 3 times, once to take our order, once before our food came out, and the last was to give us our check. The food was bland, even down to the refried beans. The presentation was good overall, but presentation doesn't make a meal. I had the cream enchiladas, my wife had the steak and shrimp that she shared with our daughter, and my son had the kids nachos. I am a starch believer that you should try food without any seasoning so that you can enjoy a meal as it was made, before trying anything to change its taste. I would have put salt on our food to season it some, but we had trouble finding a server, yet alone our server to help us with this and none was provided at the table. Overall we were disappointed with the meal.
It’s a decent place, fair prices. Only two vegetarian options though. The first time I went, I had the “El Veggie”. The second time, unfortunately, was a dissatisfying experience. I ordered the “Tampico” which came with an enchilada (cheese, beef or chicken) and two flautas. I asked if they could all be cheese and the server said that I could get either the enchilada OR the flautas. I picked the enchilada and out came a cheese enchilada and chicken flautas. No problem, I chose to replace my entree, with cheese enchiladas and I asked for it to go, since my husband was almost done eating. I’m home now and whatever enchiladas I got had some meat in that too (shown in photo).
The food came out fast. That's really all I can say that's good about the food. It was bland. Our server was excellent.
The food was tasteless, the wine was dry, the meat I ordered was overcooked, and the sauces weren't to my liking. The tortillas and chips were bitter; everything was terrible. It was truly a bad experience, the second and last time I visited this restaurant.
To start, this place was expensive for Mexican food. There are hundreds of places in the area where you can get a much better value. I had the fried avocado, but it was a complete disappointment--The avacado was fresh, and I could tell there was chicken inside, but only by the texture (odd). The fry on the crust was also a bit dark. It came out on the same type of plate you would see if you were at Denny's. My date had a similar experience with the stuffed poblano, where it looked amazing on the plate, but the filling had little flavor. Bottom line: the high menu prices didn't match the experience and environment: plastic cups, the cheapest silverware, little plastic chip baskets, tiny plastic cauldrons for dip, broken light fixtures, wobbly chairs... Our service was great, but the value just wasn't there. We won't be coming back.
I ordered a chilie relleno It was loaded with white cheese and cold shredded chicken. When I cut into it, I could smell it. I almost threw up on the plate. I had to get to my vehicle as quick as …
Waiter had an attitude the entire time waiting on me and my table and rushed us getting our food and paying. The lady that waited on us was named Maria T.
Ordered the chicken fajitas and they came out light warm- room temperature. Asked the manager and he said they have the chicken pre prepared and when order comes in they throw it back on the grill to warm up. The fajita vegetables were also room temp. Hot plate was just warm. If a restaurant is charging $25 for a dish at least serve fresh hot food. This was around 6:30 pm so not even late in the day. Sorry but will not be returning here.
Y’all the food was a disappointment for the most part and I’m so sad. The quesadillas with cheese were bomb, they’re great I’d order those again but everything else was not good. I didn’t even touch my salad, the dressing was just mayo with lime and it was gross, the presentation of it wasn’t good either, pic included in my review. My husbands food sucked, he said it tasted bad and he’s usually never picky! Won’t be coming back :(
We dined there with friends last night - the first time in 13 years & it was quite awful, I would not go again or recommend this restaurant to anyone. The fajitas we had were below par the meat was odd & don’t know what else to say but it was yuck
Food is NOT good. I don’t think they put a lick of seasoning in their food 🤮. Won’t be back. Our server was nice, only good thing.
I had a very disappointing experience at La Margarita Restaurant. From the moment our group arrived, the service felt unwelcoming and rushed. We had a table of eight, and one person in our party was running a little late due to traffic. We were told that if the rest of our party didn’t arrive within 15 minutes, they wouldn’t seat us. When I tried to order drinks and food ahead of time for the others, I was told they had to be present and show ID themselves. I understand policies, but the way it was communicated was rude and dismissive. Our waitress, Maria, made the situation worse. She only came to our table about four times the entire visit, we were there for a good while, yet we were constantly made to feel like we were taking too long to order. Maria even complained about us once we expressed our concerns we were told by the hostess, Maria already put a complaint against us! We ordered a drink and were told that bartender had an order of 40 drinks and we had to wait until he was done which made no sense he could not make one drink cause he had one big order and he had to finish it. That was so unprofessional to call out the bartender like that! When we tried to order fajitas, her response was abrupt and unprofessional. One of my friends does not speak English well, and instead of being patient, Maria told her she needed to already know what she wanted and be ready to order. What made it even more frustrating is that she seemed irritated when we spoke Spanish, asking us to repeat ourselves multiple times. We were Hispanic and spoke both languages so i don’t know what the issue was. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, especially when sharing time with friends and family. Instead, we felt rushed, judged, and unwelcome. Unfortunately, because of the service we received, I will not be returning.
