I haven’t been able to eat out due to my financial situation but I came across this place and thought I should leave a review because of mixed reviews below. This place is the best! I use to go a lot with my sister to this restaurant. We would talk with the owners. We were very fond of the wife. (Sorry I forgot her name) I had huge gallstones so I couldn’t eat spicy foods and they accommodated the dishes to not be to spicy but still have a lot of flavor. I’ve been to numerous other Indian places and this place is the best one I’ve been by far. I am now very very picky when it comes down to Indian food haha. The only thing I would absolutely love to see is maybe a lunch buffet? I can eat there cooking daily
Best Indian food I've ever had! Homegrown spices and friendly service. Don't pass this place by!
Super nice and very good food! Love the options between spice levels and the food is always amazing quality! 11/10
We had Chicken Tika Masala, Lamb Coconut Curry & Naan. The food was excellent. I called in my order to go and the food was ready a bit later than stated, but not enough to complain about. I'll definitely be going back.
I place orders with this restraunt quite frequently and unfortunately I am very sensitive to heat so I make special requests. They are amazing and always accommodate me. The flavor is good and prices beat most in the area. I love the coconut curry chicken and the butter chicken and they are various with the amount of chicken they serve. I highly recommend them and I am so happy I found my go to Indian spot!
Fantastic food and service! Very quiet setting. Limited seating, but no one was there when we went. We had the egg curry special, chicken coconut korma, and garlic naan (2 people). I hope this review brings them more business to fill those tables! And make sure to try the chai!
Delicious hole in the wall restaurant with authentic Indian fare! We enjoyed our dinner, will be returning. It really is great!
We had a quick lunch today. Ordered Ladha’s paneer butter Chechen and Naan. Very delicious food. Service was very prompt and courteous. The owner severed food very lovingly.
This is such good food, I crave it!!! 🤤🤤🤤 The butter chicken is so tender and the coconut curry chicken is delicious! Portions are great too! The naan is out of this world!
My boyfriend and I had a great first time experience. We were serviced throughout our meal by all members of the establishment and were even given dishes to try before buying. The food was absolutely amazing, everything was made fresh and came out steaming. I would recommend GIC to anyone who loves quality/authentic food and lots of it.
Food is great! and it's a calm and nice environment if you're trying to eat good here and maybe take some takeout, it's a good spot in antelope
They do a good job. The food is always delicious. We have been eating here for a while now and they are consistent with the flavor. Chicken tika masala and the biryani is delicious. Owner is very nice. Thank you for making such yummy food.
I've ate at a few of the local Indian restaurants and this one here is by far the best I've had. It's a small place and the woman working was very friendly and the food was made quickly and taste very fresh. The Paneer Pakora is AMAZING and the Chicken Vindaloo is to die for and just the amount of spice to keep you digging in. Definitely would recommend this place.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If you are looking for Ghar ka Khana made with with love this is the spot !!! Jelebis, samosas n Sarson da saag with makke de roti are some of my favorite things to order from here . The saag n maake de roti literally transported me back to Punjab !! Pls go try this mom n pop resturant !! It is a hidden gem !!
A little hole in the wall that will not disappoint! Clearly a family restaurant, as both daughters were serving, and everyone was very knowledgeable about what was in the food and how it was prepared. That aspect is very important if you are a vegan. The food was amazing and delicious, and incredibly reasonably priced. Best Indian food I have had in Sacramento.
The wife and I ordered butter chicken with naan and white rice. It was fantastic!!!! We have found our new place!!! Definitely recommend. Employees were so nice too.
We recently moved to rocklin and to our surprise we couldn’t find good Indian food. This was such a great find. The food was fresh, home cooked , amazingly tasty. The owner seemed to be very involved in the restaurant which is always a good sign. The servers/wait stuff was well versed and friendly. It was such a great experience that after lunch we went back for dinner take out. The fish fry and the Hyderabadi biriyani was too good. I hope that the restaurant continues to stay as it is for a long long time. I hope the community recognizes this gem of a place.
This has been my to go spot for indian food. The food is always fresh, and taste is authentic indian cuisine. 10/10 I would recommend!!
This place is the place to go for excellent flavor bombed dishes. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and it was heaven. Straight heaven. I was literally crying cause I was so satisfied with the taste. Very nice owners and had a great talk with them about how business had been going. Please visit and support local businesses like this. You won’t regret going here.
This place and the food I give 10 stars. AMAZING.. Service Excellent 👍 First time here and trying this food and I'm very impressed 👍

Great food!! My family brought me here recently and my wife and I loved it so much we had to come back for more.
The food is so authentic. If you want true Punjabi food, this is the place. Everything else is either Americanized with less spices and less flavor. This place is so good. Probably one of the best Indian restaurants I've been.
This is by far the most genuine and honest people you will ever order from. You will ever meet. If you want food like its made for a family member, go here
Absolutely delicious and super authentic! The flavors are rich, the spices perfectly balanced, and every dish tastes homemade. From the crispy dosa to the tender mutton curry, it’s a true taste of India. Highly recommend for anyone craving real Indian food!
Amazing place! You can tell the food is really homemade and fresh when it comes out. I’ve eaten here plenty of times over the year I’ve lived in Citrus Heights and this is by far my favorite Indian place.
This place is a favorite of mine! The food is fantastic and the Garlic Naan is a must!!
The food is always so well made and delicious! The owners are very kind and also take great care to make sure you are happy with the food. Portions are very nice also
I am customer of Great Indian Cuisine since they open this restaurant (14 years), writing first review. I have tried everything on their menu, their food is best, super tasty, price and quality is good. It's small business operated by family, they always tries their best to give good quality of food to their customers. I give ten out of ten to them and will be their customer in future !!
Came here after 4-5 years. The owners still remembered us after such a long time. They served food like a family member. Very caring. Asked if we wanted tea or pickles. Would definitely come back whenever we are back in Sacramento
My wife and I have been coming here since we arrived in Sacramento 9 years ago and it’s our favorite spot! We love the owners Balwinder’ 😍 the food is very authentic. You have to try it! ❤️👍🏼

Food was particularly authentic and tasty. Atmosphere was very ma and pa, our waiter was obviously the owners child and the cook was most likely his wife, with break room like fold away tables. Was empty when we got there, I I think one other couple showed up before we left. Was a little pricier then expected (35$ for 2 people and we both opted for water, no desert or appetizers) Although I do recall seeing a lunch special for under 7$. We just missed the window by an hour. Portions were typical of a normal indian restaraunt where you're expected to fill up on breads and rice. All in all I am usually a supporter of this kind of establishment, if you are someone who prefers authenticity over ambiance or a place named "Great Chinese Cuisine" over Panda express, this place is for you too.
Order take out 15 minutes before it closed like a jerk lol. Food was good even late on a Sunday. I was greeted with a smile. Pleasant take out experience We will come back again for the chicken curry.
I phone ordered in advance for pick up. The lady said 40 minutes. Thank God I gave advance notice. Small Indian restaurant, well hidden. Almost couldn't find it. They are not open for dine in yet. The place is rather small as well. Our food was hot and fresh. I ordered the chicken biriyani and the goat curry. The food is delicious but very expensive. My friend ordered the butter chicken, garlic Naan and a chai tea. Our bill was $60.

Tried the chicken tika marsala with the garlic naan bread....the chicken tika is creamy and delicious....the restaurant itself is small, but the flavor in their dishes huge....I'll definitely be back
This place is small, family owned and operated. The food is good and authentic but watch what she charges you for. She is notorious for upcharging and overcharging if she thinks you won't catch it, we have had to call her out several times
Great service. I called for takeout and it was ready for pickup in less than 15 mins. I was very disappointed with the Mutton Dum Biriyani. The food seems like it’s been seasons, but a little too salty to actually enjoy it.
One star for the lassi, another for the Garlic Naan. Malai Kofta- Big zero( who puts shredded coconut into it? Zero spice level ) bad Veg Biryani- It was more like vangibath ( Tasted more like home made- mediocre in taste)

The amount of food you get when you go in vs when you order off of postmates/any other food delivery service is shocking. I will not be ordering anymore from this restaurant. Look at the owner response from a previous review stating the same thing. Absolutely cannot recommend.
I tried to support a small family-owned business, but I was utterly disgusted with the food and portion sizes. I usually go to Indian Oven, but someone convinced me to try this place instead. It was unbearably hot inside with only one tiny fan blowing. I should have walked out right then. The waitress had zero customer service skills, gave us room temperature water, and didn’t even offer straws. She took an eternit 5-7 minutes just to take our order an it was only me an my bf no one else was even there in the restaurant at the time. When we finally got our food, I was furious. The portions were pathetically small and outrageously expensive. My chicken tikka masala was a joke, and the butter naan was more like pita chips. Instead of making a scene, I quietly decided from here on out to never to set foot in this place again. Respectfully I didn't even take a picture of my food I was so mad. If I could give this place Zero stars I would !
So dirty And Food is not authentic. Just below average. They serve biryani, which was not. The place is so dirty that we cannot sit for a while. The service was not good as well. Never going to be there again.
Ordered butter chicken & lamb curry w side of rice & a mango chutney. Had it delivered by grub hub. Order came to $50. We received 3 chip dip size containers & a condiment size container of mango chutney. All fit in a small carry out plastic bag. We were shocked at how little food we received for $50. The side of rice had to be split between both entrees even though the butter chicken should have come with rice according to the web site menu. The mango chutney was literally a tablespoon @ $4.00. We called to see why the order was so little food & where was the rice that came with the chicken. We were told no rice with the chicken contrary to web menu & told all grub hub order’s are smaller & something about the restaurant having to pay 60% not sure what that means & didn’t have a chance to ask as they hung up on us. We’ve eaten in this restaurant before & the portions were enormous that’s why we chose it but had it delivered this time. Food is good but not really sure what is going on with the delivery aspect but do NOT order anything for delivery you’ll definitely be disappointed as we were. If you call to ask questions they hang up on you must not need your business. Owner thank you for your response. We have ordered more food through Grub hub in the last 3 months than our entire life due to current Pandemic concerns. Never ever have we had our portion size reduced because we used grub hub. So in your own response you will be paid $23.95 for our order so you portion size is correct based on what you’re getting paid Not what we paid. You are the only restaurant that downsizes grub hub orders based on what you get paid. I get a large pizza when I order a large not a small, I get 8 pcs chicken when I order 8 not 4 because I used grub hub. Living less than 2 miles away We could have easily picked up our order if we would have know we were only getting $23 worth of food for a $50 order. We’ve eaten in your restaurant before & ordered some of the same entrees & couldn’t finish them there was so much. Imagine our shock when we get order this time & it’s 1/4 the amount yet the same price. I do not think this a grub hub issue as this has not been a problem at ANY other restaurant. Thank you for your response.
Poor quality 👎 no taste even not a fresh food it’s disgusting 🤮
My wife ordered Tika Masala, ive never tasted such under seasoned neon orange Tika Masala. The Lamb Curry that I ordered was just salty, no heat or really any curry flavor. The raita was the worst. Sorry for the harsh words but this place is a no for me dog.(Randy Jackson voice)
Not sure about others but my experience was really disappointing at this place. The place is small (not complaining) and looks very dated. We ordered Samosa for appetizer. It did not take much time to get it but the quality of Samosa was poor and very oily. They tasted very low quality and salty. When asked the lady didn’t even bother to offer a replacement. So we left it as-is. For entree we got Paneer tikka masala and they have used food color so heavy we ended up with almost pink/red color fingers. The Butter Naans were really great and tasted way better than Garlic naan. And, btw the curry is by itself and does not come with rice or naan if u have it in the restaurant. They give the rice(may be) only for to go orders. Not sure it makes any sense. Customer service- just don’t bother about it at this place. Will not return nor recommend this place due to poor food quality and heavy food color usage. There are many other great places for better food.
Scam and force charge and didn’t take resolve I didn’t order different one it they try excuse to cover my misunderstanding. It wasn’t make sense pretty clear point menu the name they lied I point second not order the nearest menu list make perfect extra charge me try excuse. If you limited budget don’t come there!!! Thier food really good! Sometime thier bad attitude. They greedy to charges without tell you tag prices!
The service was embarrassing I called them for simple veggie biriyani and I was already 15 min away and they never started on it untill I arrived the place was empty there was no one there I still had work and they made me wait another 15 min I normally don't review anyone but I was so annoyed and upset when I finally got my biriyani and it looked like it came from a can ...it was just all wet and stuck together. And they were yelling at there kids the whole time😥
I don't recommend. Won't go here and spend another dime anymore. It was too late to cancel my order but the owner treated me like disgusting germs. Ive never treated this bad. Very disappointing. I wouldn't go to detail, but i don't recommend doing business with those who fooled themselves into thinking they're better than any human being. Ive been to restaurants whom not only serve better food but great customer services. This one lacks both.
