Quality vegan cuisine. Steps to the 2nd level. Can be a little confusing as another cafe is adjacent in same building or appears to be. Parking can be tight during the busy times. Welcoming staff and workabees. Ambience berry comfortable and varying staging.
A hidden gem in Sacramento! We went for weekend brunch and got the french toast and breakfast burrito. Both were well-prepared and delicious. The toast on the french toast had surprisingly good texture, crunchy edges and some chew. The whip cream was light and tasty. The burrito had a delicious creamy curry sauce. Portions were generous. They also have a daily specials menu on the wall by the entrance and front desk. The staff and service were exceptional. We'll be back to try other stuff on their menu.
We’ve been coming to Veg Cafe for almost three years from S. Lake Tahoe, and it never disappoints. Our most recent visit during the October Vegan Chef Challenge gave us the perfect excuse to try the Stuffed Pappardelle (VCC) and the Pumpkin Toffee Pudding (VCC). Wow!! Both dishes were absolutely incredible and have instantly become new fall favorites alongside the other seasonal items we already love. Highly recommend giving them a try!!
Food was delicious. I wasn’t sure what to expect but the combinations on the pallet were amazing. Had the savory crepe, Brussels sprouts and the latkes. Definitely try this place.
Loved the momo cauliflower, pomegranate salad and gin pear cocktail. The decor was cute. Will definitely have to return.
This spot is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I am not a vegan or vegetarian person BUT I always come back to this spot once a month! Amazing and fresh food. And their cocktails are D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! Customer service is top notch! Highly recommend this spot. Shout out to my peep for taking these pics!
This is a creative vegetarian spot that always has interesting seasonal dishes. I love coming to check out the new items. They also have a really yummy selection of hot tea and other drinks at their bar. The dining area is cozy and it can be fun to get a window seat since it’s on the 2nd floor and people watch below. The service is always super friendly but it can be a little slow if they are busy. I would not recommend it for a quick bite. Highly recommend checking out this unique spot!
Loved the atmosphere (local art & nice area with lots of windows) and the food was delicious! Got the tofu crêpe.
First visit here and this was so incredible! Our compliments to the chef and the staff!!! We will be back for sure! The staff is so nice and really down to earth. The food omggg the food was so so delicious we got the Mayor impossible burger 10/10 and the Pesto Gnocchi 10/10! The drinks we got were top freaking notch and really creative we had to thank the bar tender personally. <3 This place is our new favorite!!
AMAZING FOOD!!! My compliments to the chef and the staff!! This place is a wonderful little restaurant hidden away from the busy streets of the big city. It has a beautiful outdoor seating arrangement with something to be desired. Also the service was quite excellent and very professional. And last but not least the food was surprisingly remarkable. I feel its the best vegan friendly food I've had. Can't wait to go back. :)
Beautifully intimate setting with friendly staff and delicious food. We have been here twice for special occasions (it isnt cheap!) and we loved it. We usually end up getting a full 3 course meal because we can pick what to get! The restaurant is very intimate and charming. The meals we have had here are very well thought out with seasonal ingredients, and their ever changing menu keeps things fresh and exciting. Im looking forward to coming back to try new seasonal dishes!
Had brunch on our first visit, cozy but spacious upstairs space, price point $12-$18 per dish but portion size was very generous. Staff were friendly and food was amazing. Great selection of teas, beer choices more limited. The chicken (fried oyster mushrooms) and waffles was especially delicious. Will definitely visit again.
By far the best vegan experience I’ve ever had. The staff is attentive and kind, the ambiance is like a warm hug and the food is thoughtful, creative and spot on. The carbonara was creamy and rich, lined with unbelievably flavorful roasted veg that truly makes you question whether it could actually be vegan. The chickpea soup was perfect and gin cocktail special was unparalleled and completely unique. 10/10, can’t wait to come back

Our second time here and loved it even more. I don’t like bland food and was happy to see everything here was on point with spices and flavors. They are clearly making creative use of Indian and Thai ingredients. Highly recommend.

My family loved our lunch. I got the pesto spaghetti which really was perfect in taste and consistency. Also got a side salad, nice and tangy.
Veg is always delicious. Nice ambience and always kind servers. Last might my husband and I had takeout to try the Vegan Chef Challenge offerings. WOW, the butternut squash pappardelle dish was SO delicious. I would happily eat that every night of fall. The beyond sausage dish was also delicious and a perfect taste of fall. The sticky toffee pudding was such a comforting fall dessert. We had the taquitos as an appetizer and they were huge and also super yummy. Love this place!
The food here is phenomenal. Their menu changes but keeps some consistent dishes. What they do with vegetarian and vegan dishes is basically witchcraft - everything is so tasty and flavorful. The atmosphere is gorgeous - I love hanging out on the sun room. The drinks are also very very good.
Super cozy and welcoming restaurant with high wow factor food/drinks. The whipped cream atop the hot chocolate is made from lentils (?!!) and tastes insane! Even the leftovers held up superbly 2 days later. 12/10 :D

We had lunch at the Veg cafe while on a road trip. We ordered Momo Cauliflower, Gnocchi al Pesto and Veg Gyro. Everything was fresh and delicious. The portion sizes could be a bit bigger for the price though. The service was fast and the staff were friendly.
Heard great things about this place. I like how they have seats by the windows so you can do a little people watching. Has an all vegan menu except an egg as a side order. Good ambiance. I went for the VCC. Wow! I was blown away by different dishes and of course the staff. Don't forget the special lemondrop. Their alcohol drinks are legit. They go vegan well and the staff is great. The stair climb will get you ready for the tasty meal that is about to ensue. Recommend.

I’ve been going here for 7+ years, and there’s anything you need to know :) -great food, not so great service. The head chef obviously puts effort into the presentation and the menu works, everything makes sense and there is soul in the food: 10/10 for food - Service does not equate to the amount you tip, I’ve not had a pleasant experience with the waitress Eryka… but I have noticed she does treat others nicely so maybe it depends on the person… either way, better service at Lemongrass or other restaurants with same price range, where they make you feel you matter. What keeps us going back to the veg is the food.
The food was delicious! The drinks were crafted with passion and care and tasted divine. We had a larger party and everyone enjoyed their food thoroughly. The servers were sociable and welcoming to us all. Even though the staff were friendly, the service was not what I would expect for an establishment like this. Our server was also the bartender. She and one other person were the servers for the entire restaurant. The restaurant is a smaller and cozier space, but with the multiple roles our server had to play, our food and drinks took a long while to come out. Not everyone got their food together in a timely fashion. For dessert: we ordered all 4 options on the menu. The baklava was delicious and the bread pudding was a close second; although it was more of a bread cake with ice cream rather than a proper bread pudding. The chocolate cake was dry and bland. The cheesecake had a very odd aftertaste and was also somewhat bland. Overall, our experience was a 3/5. Lots of little things added up including but not limited to: 1. A very large crack in the ceiling above our table 2. Our server mentioning that the curry dish was not spicy, a person at our table ordering the curry, and the curry was very spicy. 3. We did not get our extra sauce that we requested. 4. Our entrees did not all come out at once; two of our colleagues ended up getting their entrees after most of us were close to finishing our meals.
