Annie and her staff are great. I usually get the Chicken Chow Fun. It is SO good. Everything is always fresh. The chicken is not tough or chewy. Portions are large. You definitely get a good value for your money. I highly recommend!

(don't even bother going to Chef Lee's its over priced and the staff is mean and dont get me started with the wait time) I've been coming to Golden China for the past 8 years with my family and let me tell you... As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a smile by the Owner! Yeah, She is the nicest person ever. The food tastes amazing! it's always fresh, I've never had an issue with my food here. You might have to wait 20 min for your food to come out but Oh! it's worth it! The food aromas are sooo worth it. They have an excellent chef in the back. The restaurant is always clean with beautiful natural plants everywhere. This is the place where you will never get a mean look from the staff if you order extra sauces of fortune cookies for take out. Very friendly staff. 10/10 recommend 👍🏼

We have been customers for years. Anna and her family are the owners and the food is great. When they were closed for almost a year after the fire, we could not find anywhere as good. Big portions, decent price and a good lunch menu. Not a fancy looking place, but well known among loyal customers!

Glad to have them reopen after the fire. The food is as good as ever. Win ton soup has excellent flavor and won tons that you can actually see the filing. The Chinese stew is wonderful and is their sweet and sour. It's light crunchy coating with the sauce which is not overly sweet. Since we typically order items that are normally Eastern at a Chinese family's home, the food here is just like what my mom used to cook. Wonderful!

This is our go to spot for lunch. Food is always delicious and the service is excellent. The egg flower soup is the best.

I believe its family owned. Always friendly,good portion for you $$. If you like soup ask for house wonton soup, has shrimp,pork,wontons, broccoli, bok choy, carrots, onion, lots of veggies.. Enough for like 7-8 little soup bowls i think. 🖒 Orange cbicken to me real tastes like orange.

Everything was so good. Fresh vegetable made the wonton soup so good, zucchini, bok choy, carrots, cabbages. All the meals tasted fresh. The sesame balls are a favorite.

Most plates we shared so keep in mind the portions are pretty good to share. We thank you for being so kind for our dinner and having good food before we head home tomorrow. I added a few plates of our shared food between 9 people.

We need to made a stop at Salina on the way to SF so we are searching for chinese food dinner. Once I look at the Golden China food picture in Yelp I told my husband use must try this restaurant. First my husband was skeptical about the restaurant but once the dishes arrived our table he immediately change his mind. We order - West Lake Soup : this is a very traditional Cantonese style soup, minced beef, peas and carrot in a starchy egg white soup base, you can ask with or without cilantro garnish , or on the side. We usually will add tiny bit vinegar and pepper - Fried Chicken Wing - House Special Chow Fun - Walnut Shrimp ( should have order a veggie dish but we know that we won't be finish all and at can't it the left over since we are traveling) Their portion of each plate is HUGE! Every dish we ordered we enjoy it so much! Fast and friendly service, clean environment, delicious food ! One more happy and satisfied customer I am highly recommended for travelers or local!

For $35 we got sweet and sour pork, cashew chicken, pork fried rice, chicken chow mein, 2 servings of wonton soup, plus 2 egg rolls and 2 fried prawns. HUGE portions. An unbelievable amount of food for the price, and it was all delicious. (With 2 sodas and tax it came to $46, still a steal). This was the "family dinner #3" for 2 people. If you want to order specific entrees instead, it is a lot more money, they seemed to average close to $15 each. Still would be worth it, but the family dinners are insanely affordable. You can see everything in the photo except the appetizers. Service was very good, with two strange exceptions. We had to ask for plates once the food started coming out, and I heard the table behind us do the same. Also, at the end we were brought the check, but then he never came back for my card as you would expect. Still, service was very good over all. Polite and attentive. Definitely going back!

This is an experience you should not pass on. So far this is the best Chinese restaurant we have eaten at in Salinas, CA. Limited parking. Staff is friendly and attentive. Wonton soup was flavorful with soft wonton. The chow mein noodles were soft and chewy (not for everyone) but the flavor was amazing. The fried rice did not have peas and carrots in it, as it should be. They did use green onions. The fried prawns were crunchy and non greasy but hot, same with the egg rolls. The sweet and sour pork was had hand dipped quality and cooked. The breading on the outside was not traditional like what you would find at a buffet. They seem to take pride in the food they serve and it shows. We will be going back as this is a place that is save on our phone and in our stomachs.

Everything about this restaurant is very good! Probably one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. The Shrimp Fried Rice had a reasonable amount of shrimp, the Sweet and Sour Chicken had a crispy taste, and the Abalone with Black Mushrooms had a savory flavor. Everything was made to perfection for me and there are no complaints I can make. I would recommend this place to other people interested in trying this type of food. It was very delicious for me.

I can't being to express how delicious this place is. Every dish I've ordered has blown me away. It is easily the best Chinese restaurant in Salinas! Fried rice- superb, Orange Chicken- incredible! When in doubt order the combination plate, you won't regret it! 100/10 stars!

The Mrs wanted Chinese and her regular spot was closed. Went here for the first time. Got some fried rice and chow mein. Very tasty and although it was two of us, plenty of food for four. Great tasting, priced right and staff was very friendly. Definitely will be back.

Can’t complain about the service. However, as an experienced chef over 25 years, I maintain that you can tell the quality of a Chinese restaurant by the quality of their “Mushu”. This is perhaps the worst “Mushu” I have ever had. No cabbage, only “sprouts“ and protein and a lot of cornstarch. Really pretty awful. I do know that they are considered one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area, but I just don’t see it.

For being my fist time here, I was disappointed because I ordered a Wonton Soup and a large Egg flower soup, And a Lunch special. Thinking it was like other Chinese places, and for the Menu price that was stated. At around13 dollars EACH When It came time to pay, My bill was $74.00 🤯. She said it was because the Large is Double the price!!! But nowhere in the Menu it stated that I was going to be paying double, nor she took the time to explain it to me, even though, I stated to her, that it was my first time dining there. She never mention THAT A LARGE meant I was going to be paying DOUBLE for a large. My experience was really BAD, the food was OK, but not that tasty. I don't recoment this place to anyone. The menu price, is not what your going to pay. Be prepared to be surprise 💸🤯$$$. This will be the last time I come to eat at this restaurant.

Our family frequent this restaurant. Their food is really good all the time! But today I dined by myself on 4th of July. I had the Seafood combo w/veggies. It was great as usual but as I was finishing up the food I looked on my plate and there was this brown looking little bug 🐛 I thought maybe it was some kind of spice but as I examined what was left of my food I didn’t see any more looking like that! So I took out my iphone camera and took a picture of it to magnify it. It did have little spiky prongs! Yuck 🤢 I called over the waiter and showed him it. He said it might be a burnt rice took my plates and didn’t return to my table with the bill. I walked over to pay expecting some compensation and much to my dismay he charged me full price for meal. I stated you’re charging me full price for a meal that surely had a bug in it?! He said “I don’t know that it was a bug”. Very bad customer service. I will also be reporting this to BBB!

The staff is friendly and the restaurant is nice, the food however. I ordered shrimp fried rice, foil paper rapped chicken, beef chow mein, Mongolian beef and curry chicken unfortunately the fortune cookie was the only thing worth eating. The food was just bad. It's a shame I really wanted to like this place despite being over priced. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

62 dollars for orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and 2 dry meins. Both chickens were soggy and chewy. Dry mein was also soggy and under flavored. Very disappointing for the price. Service was fine, but the food was some of the worst chinese ive had unfortunately.
