Ike's Love and Sandwiches

Great sandwich shop for those who want something out of the ordinary. Not sure how they manage to do this, but their Dutch crunch bread is amazing. Somehow the bread is crunchy, yet chewy and does not tear up the roof of your mouth.

Ike’s is one the best sandwich places in Monterey. I always get something with the Halal Chicken and my bread of choice is the Dutch Crunch. A lot of veggie options with fake Turkey as well

Oven was being serviced so we chose not to have heated sandwiches. They were still delicious. We could have waited about 10 minutes for the oven to be hot,, but we choose not to.

My favorite sandwich shop in town. Quality you can taste and variety abound. Hardest part about Ike's is trying to choose what kind of delish to get!

The place is large enough for handicapped persons, but not extremely roomy. After ordering their was no place left to sit. Eventually, we did find a seat outside. The sandwiches were delicious; we took the chips home because we were full. I will definitely come back here, when I'm in town.

Pretty darn good sandwiches! Huge too! Husband devoured mine and his! Grabbed the Spiffy Tiffy!

Omg best sandwich place ever! The workers are always so had at working and sometimes they need to get orders through quickly so get everyone but that was okay!!! However, a few times i have been their some other people ordering food are just so rude! A lady literally yelled at an employee for not greeting them at the door and threatened to tell their manager during i guess the lunch rush ?! I hope those kids were okay

Employees were super nice, and helpful. Never been here before and they made it super easy to order. Manager was very nice and patient. Will be coming again! Food was delicious!

Chris kept looking up and saying “I’m new bro, I’m new to this and screaming as loud as he could ‘auuuugh’, he also kept telling the customer ‘you don’t deserve my mayo, you ain’t worthy of my mayo’” which I thought was the appropriate way of handling that situation at that time. As I walked up next in line Chris listened attentively as I explained what sandwich I wanted. As he was making my sandwich Chris and I struck up a conversation about my favorite hobby (and his too) Thugshaking! Chris I can tell is very intelligent and our conversation was just as intellectual as I thought it would be. If you need a good sandwich and good friendly conversations! Go to Ike’s! You won’t be disappointed

The Salinas staff & manager are amazing fast even. When busy just the small acknowledgement of hey or welcome in while pounding orders with 3 -5 staff members so refreshing and honorable unlike Jersey miks you’ll leave with fast clean tasty sando with a smile being treated like a actual person 10/10 going here over any other sandwich spot in salinas

It's a small shop but they have it nicely organized with classic Ike wall decor. The employees were nice and hard at work! It's always like a hive of activity behind the counter! The food was ready very quickly with minimum waiting - at least 7 different orders going on - was rather full for the size of the shop. Got it home and it was very yummy. Good food for the price and will be back again!

I was pleasantly surprised with my sandwich I ordered. It was my first time here and plan to return to try other items off their expansive sandwich menu. Service was quick and friendly. I recommend giving them a try.

Ike’s is a solid sandwich shop. Fresh meats and produce, polite staff. Quick 5 minute wait. All and all I’ll come back. My 1 gripe was it seemed like the Dutch crunch was undercooked or something. No crunch at all.

Good sandwiches. Not great, but good. A couple of veggie options. But watch their hidden fees. You'd think the price on the menu is the price you pay, but not at Ike's. They add a service charge at the register without telling you.

The sandwiches we tried (once!) tasted great, but they really need to improve on their customer service. -They have never answered our phone calls. -The first time we went they only had enough halal chicken left for one sandwich. -The second visit, they told us they stop taking orders after 6:30 PM and only use the time until closing to prepare the orders they receive online. Unfortuantely, this was something we only found out after getting there because it isn't written anywhere on their website (closing is 7 PM) and they never answer phone calls either.

Ike’s sandwiches are awesome but the guy at the front is alway rude. I’ve been here 4 times recently and every visit he has had attitude. Hopefully the manager will tell him something after reading this review. Bad customer service 👎

Solid, reliable Ike’s fare with multiple vegan options. The vegan chicken teriyaki was excellent as always as was the avocado sub. Service was so so, dining area very cramped- best to take your order to go.

I really liked my sandwich but my wife said she barely had any meat on her sandwich. There are only two tables in this small establishment and four chairs total. There are four four bar stool high table setups. Our daughter uses a walker and a wheelchair and can't sit in one of the tall bar stool chairs. If the other family hadn't left there would have been no place to sit. The music was turned up really loud so they could be heard over the extremely obnoxious blower in the sandwich oven. When I asked to turn down the music, the employee said the manager won't let them touch it. But, she did turn off the blower on the oven for a while. It was extremely loud and there are no tables outside where it was very peaceful.

Ordered two sandwiches and fries to go. There were 3 others waiting for their orders. Twelve minutes later my name was called, but they forgot the fries. Another 12 minutes went by and fries were still not done. During that time 2 other orders were placed and they all received their orders in a timely fashion. I asked how much longer before my order would be ready since I had an appointment I needed to get to. The cashier told me to be patient and that if I couldn't wait she could give me my two sandwiches and I could be on my way without the fries they forgot about when I placed my order.. several minutes later I got my order and left to make my appointment. As my wife and I drove away we found the fries were soggy and not completely done and the sandwiches that were once hot were now cold. Total time spent waiting for a disappointing order, 28 minutes!! Never again at this location will they earn my business.

Okay if you like their sauce. Too saucy and salty for my taste and way too confusing to order. Combinations set and you need to read the details of each one. Bread choices are in a separate section and cost of adding a drink and Chips is nowhere in sight.

I've been to the Ike's in San Jose and they're awesome! This location is the complete opposite of that. Ordered the Menage a Trois and the Dutch crunch was soggy, chicken was cold and they gave me no sauce on the side AND inside the sandwich when I clearly asked and inputted in the order "No sauce in sandwich, Sauce on the side" don't go to this location if you want the Ike's experience, it'll just end up disappointing you.

Ordered the Jaymee Sirewhich today and added avocado which was an extra $2.50. I get home and not only did they skimp on the chicken there was no avocado. I called them to see if they would do a credit but instead they put me on hold for over 10 min so I hung up and tried to call back. I tried calling back several different times and they had a busy signal. Its completely unacceptable to charge that much for an addition and not even put it on the sandwhich and to top it off i have been completely ignored by them.

I love Ike's and this place has been good in the past. But we walked in and it was so dirty I asked them if they were open. When I went to order my CYO I tried to add mustard and mayo but the man who refused to speak lower than a whisper told me they don't have either. I tell him that's fine, dirty sauce alone is fine. And then we go and sit at the waiting table and I can see the full mustard bottle on the counter. 😐 Didn't look even slightly empty. My girlfriend still tipped them though cause she's a nice person. Truly ruining the great Ike's name.

Id give them a ZERO if I could. Pulled up to order a sandwich. Never been there before. There were a few people outside that had already ordered. Not knowing what to do i walked to the door and opened it. The Asian man inside said I'm a little busy right now! What! Not sure what he meant but that told me to go away...so I did. Won't be back either. POOR customer service.

Menu has about 5 things that specifically state they can be made vegan. We tried to order two separate things. They were out of both. I tried to order a third and was told they make it vegan just by cutting one of the key ingredients. We decided to go somewhere else.

DON'T bother. Sandwiches were made incorrectly. Instead of Roast Beef it was ham. No receipt to prove we ordered extras on one of the sandwiches. Lousy service. Bathroom was dirty. They asked us to throw our trash away outside. There are trash bags next to the front door.

Called multiple times and no one answered the phone, but when I arrived at the premises no one was in the shop and they were cleaning the store and didn’t want to take my order. Once I got them to actually take my order, 10 min before closing, they totally got it wrong and when I asked the clerks name she wouldn’t give it to me and a man jumped in and stated that he was management but wouldn’t give me his name either because I expressed I would be posting a negative review due to all the aforementioned issues. The “so called Manager” basically prevented me from obtaining any information about them or an appropriate way to resolve my concerns and unfortunately I will not be going to this place again as a result of this experience. (This is unfortunate because I had been a very consistent patron of this establishment and was blown away by the attitude and lack of desire to actually do business.) [All of this occurred the evening of 11/24/2021, just in case real management wants to determine who was actually on duty and was responsible for unfortunately loosing long term patrons of their business!!!]

I won’t be back. Got attitude from the manager when I complained that after asking twice for jalapeño peppers on my sandwich, I got all the way home and discovered I didn’t receive any. When I complained, he acted like it was my fault. Too many other restaurants in town to put up with that.

Just finished visiting the Salinas store food is good but some of the worst customer service I’ve ever seen. The employees are cursing using F bombs and gossiping about other employees and yelling it out loud for the whole store could totally hear unprofessional. This was done in front of my 8 year old daughter. I recommend to take your business elsewhere.

Sometime me and my wife love going to Ike’s eating it there it’s only 6 o clock tells us we are only doing togo no dine in they close at 7 it don’t take a hour to eat the most 15-20 min max..like they don’t wanna clean up don’t get me wrong the sandwich are bomb just the Service sucks…

Looking forward to that other sandwich shop opening soon.

It was great in memory but I’ll probably never go back now. Bread was stale, produce wasn’t fresh, and the popper dipping sauce was cold and nearly solid. Only ingredients that were decent were the jarred and pickled stuff. Lost my appetite after a few bites. When you’re located in California’s salad bowl, the least you could offer is fresh produce.

Today my husband went in and purchased two sandwiches. When we got home we noticed the sandwiches were made incorrectly. My husband took them back to the store after paying $35 for two sandwiches (we thought they should be made correctly). When he went in he was practically told he was wrong by staff members. They only made one sandwich and was told the other was made "correctly". He returned home with one cold sandwich and avocado peels in the other. Due to the poor customer service we will no longer be returning.

Ingredients were missing, they didn't pre-inform me that they don't carry certain ingredients as mentioned on the board, and the guy making sandwiches was unnecessarily rude to me.
