The staff is incredible and they don't sit you on top of everyone and crowd the room. Service and refills are often. Which is an automatic 🌟 🌟 Upon approaching the buffet you walk amongst a steam bath, because unlike other buffets, Asian Star keeps the steam tables filled and on high, which means fresher and hotter food. Love their baked salmon! I literally go there to eat baked salmon mostly. Other items are good too! They are clean so I like going there. Staffs are nice too! Been there a couple of times now! Compared to other asian buffets I have tried this one is better. Their food is fresh! I recommend this buffet if you’re caving for asian food! The price was $15.99 per person for dinner.

Was not expecting this place to be what it is. Nice Buffet. The service would have been perfect if not for one small interaction with the staff... my wife asked for a booth area after we had been seated at a table... and the woman she asked literally couldn't stop scrolling on her phone to give my wife her attention. Lol... She literally answered my wife while continuing to scroll on her phone. She didn't even look up at my wife. I was at an angle to where I could see she was on some type of social media... 😆 However, the woman redeemed herself later on. I actually can't wait to come back here. Been looking for Asian cuisine since moving here that was like Missouri... haven't found it till now. 😋

The food was very similar to any other Chinese buffet. It was very busy, which was a good thing, the food was rotated very often so everything was "fresh." The food was delicious. There was a good selection of sushi, and it was all delicious. The staff was very helpful and our table was always free of our used plates. We will definitely visit Asian Star Super Buffet when we're in the San Antonio area.

OMG!!! It's a huge buffet system in town 🤓🤗 I've never seen before in any of the restaurants. I am pretty sure, It's really hard to taste all the buffet items here. Bunch of foods in each category's like Appetizers, Sushi, Chickens, Red Meats, Sea Foods, Vegetables, Sauces and Desserts. Foods all tastes good. The ambiance was Decent and friendly service. The buffet price is just $9.75 only!!!!

Consistently the best Asian food buffet in the city. Also new foods sometimes like dessert bao buns and a steak station. Don't forget the ice cream!

Friday dinner buffet is very rich. Crab legs, crawfish, variety of shrimp. It seemed clean and server was on top of her game with drinks, for any table around. My favorite was Chile lime shrimp, salmon and strawberry cheesecake... Strawberries in the cheesecake tasted so fresh, you could crunch on strawberry seeds.

This restaurant really was a fair price for the variety of food you get here. All the food was hot and fresh when we came to eat after our adventure at SixFlagsFiestaTexas. I believe the price per person is about $20 bucks with drink which is typical at most Chinese restaurants but at least here it really is worth it in my opinion. Food quality and taste was also note worthy especially if you order a steak off the hibachi/Mongolian grill 😋

Haven't been here in years, finally decided to go again, but this time took my picky eater husband lol. We both really enjoyed the food, it all was so fresh. My sushi was delicious, the steam bun was yummy, my wonton soup was amazing. The different types of meat I got was well cooked as well. Wasn't super crowded or loud at all. It's got a Create Your Own Mongolian Bowl Bar at no extra charge. Instant 5 stars. But the wide selection of food is stunningly impressive, yummy and well-presented. There's definitely something everyone will enjoy. Our hostess was attentive throughout our stay too. For $13 a person (even less for kids) it's well worth it. Will definitely go back.

Visited today after Six Flags. It’s near our hotel and looked good. The place was relatively busy, so the food was fresh. I appreciated the Mongolian grill. They had steaks that could be cooked on a grill, not just a griddle. The cheese wontons were the best I have had anywhere. Everything else was good, the quality was what you’d expect at a Chinese buffet. They had a good selection overall. I noticed the staff constantly cleaning the tables, sweeping up the floor and attending the food. Our server Paul was excellent. If you’re looking for a good buffet, you won’t go wrong here.

The stars of the show for me were the house special chicken and the cheese rangoons. Both were so good. All of the sushi has crab so I couldn’t try any. Next time I’ll definitely try the Mongolian BBQ. Not a bad price for such variety that has some really good options. There was plenty I wasn’t impressed by but that’s the beauty of the buffet… next time I’ll know better!

Wow i was surprised by the flavors, every dish has its unique flavor. Probably not the best place to have lunch if one is still trying to honor New Year's resolutions to lose weight. If you are really hungry and did not bother making food deprivation resolutions, this is the perfect place to satisfy one's empty stomach. On this visit, I went to the Mongolian grill first. I suppose if you don't want any veggies and you only want beef, pork, shrimp, chicken, and imitation crab, that is okay (they did not tell me no). Next, I went to the sushi bar. I am not sure if I really like sushi but I am trying to make it an acquired taste. Then I went to the salad bar and grabbed some cold boiled shrimp and cocktail sauce. The meal only cost me $8.50 because I found a 10% off coupon on the internet. Of course I visited the dessert bar ... several times. I like pudding way too much!

I would think they would have updated their decor, as everything down to the bathroom need a lot of work/replacement. Old tables, wobbling, rust everywhere in the bathroom, and why is there carpet in a restaurant? As far as the food; ALWAYS go during the lunch hours, or dinner hours, which is typically when the best served/prepared food is served. Otherwise is you go outside of these times, you'll get the food which sits for too long under the heating lights. As far as the food we atr, it was great, a lot of MSG/Sodium, and a ton of ice tea to wash it down. What more could you ask for. The price for each of us, (3) $20.00 a piece...I'm not enthusiastic about it, but I knew what it was going into it. (Plus the tip) The staff are always great, attentive, and full of smiles.

Our family usually go here for weekend dinners! We love Asian Star Super Buffet because it’s affordable, casual, and the food selection is pretty good. For three adults and two kids, our bill was $80.04 including one drink, which is pretty reasonable for the amount of food. We always tip in cash to show our appreciation for the staff! Some of my favorite dishes are the fried pork, Singapore noodles, salmon sushi, avocado rolls, honey shrimp, mushrooms, and seaweed salad. Even though it’s usually busy with big groups and parties, the wait is never too long. The only things I’d say need improvement are the seasoning on the Mongolian beef. It can be a bit bland. Sometimes there’s a bit of sand in the clams. But overall, we are usually satisfied with their dinner and price.

Decided to give the buffet another try. Food was much better this time, but there were still problems. I made a bowl at the mongolian grill, the cook burnt everything. Large sign for ice cream, but no ice cream. The jalapeno chicken was good, as was a few other items. Old Review Ate at this location right after they opened. Had been eating here previously when it was "China Sea". Was completely let down by the food which lacked flavor. Service was OK, buffet selection was not fantastic, but had enough items to give you a good choice of entrees. Tried many items on the buffet but ultimately gave up trying to find something I really enjoyed and just ate enough to be full. At first I thought maybe the items were lacking salt, but I was wrong, the addition of salt just made them saltier and didn't help to enhance the flavor at all. My two friends who were eating dinner with me both agreed that the food was sub par, needed more flavor and was rather disappointing. I have not returned to the location since my first visit.

They had a ton of different varieties of food, most was, to my taste buds very bland, the cheese wontons were good in the center, but the edges tasted like old oil. It was....a bit less than okay. The food was Mostly....food-like. The crab legs were pathetic..I've seen more impressive legs on a spider. The selection was large but it was all mediocre fare. The egg rolls tasted like grass, the pot stickers were scorched to the point of inedibility, unless you like scraping your teeth along a plank of half-burned wood and the filling tasted like pure table salt. The egg drop soup tasted like an old library smells, while somehow managing to be almost flavorless...a truly impressive feat of mediocrity - not even Kikkoman could save it. The dessert was..yuck. the soft serve ice cream was nearly flavorless frozen skim milk with a drop or two of artificial vanilla flavor per gallon of skim milk. The good thing is the staff is genuinely helpful, but are overworked, God love 'em.

The food at this buffet was good. I saw a variety of seafood. And everything was coming out fresh. The problem I had was there was so many people and the layout of the place made it feel like you were all eating together cramped up in one room. It is a very loud atmosphere and very messy.

When I was trying to pay very off, putting very rude, then the waitresses acting like they can't see a 63 black man. We went to eat here as a family, and unfortunately the service was very poor from the moment we arrived. The host greeted us with a bad attitude, and when we asked to change tables, she threw the silverware onto the new table in frustration. Our waitress was also impatient, asking several times if we wanted separate checks and making us feel rushed to leave. When my wife and I stepped out for a moment, the waitress even followed us to charge us without realizing that my parents were going to pay, which was uncomfortable. My father paid by card, and as he always does, he left a cash tip on the table, but the cashier seemed upset because it wasn’t added to the card payment. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience. I hope the restaurant takes this as an opportunity to improve their customer service, because the food might be good, but the way customers are treated needs serious improvement.

Very disappointing! Be careful when you arrive before 3:30pm. I arrive to take advantage of their lunch special. We arrived around 3:15pm. Online it state that 3:30pm prices go up. Even though I arrived before that time they still charged me the dinner price, when I reported it to the staff after several repeats they still didn’t understand my point. They need to make things clear. Last time I come here, their food is not fresh shrimp and steak was horrible! Should have gone to longhorn steakhouse and paid there for some good steak! I miss china sea!!

We had already eaten and were about to leave,have in mind we had already paid our bill and the girl who brought our bill named Michelle look at us and with a broken English made us understand that she would not take our bill unless we gave her a tip,honestly I find that to be very disrespectful since I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years and this has never happened ACTUALLY we came the week before and tips were not mandatory.and even after we gave her 10 dollars tip she still gave everyone in the table a nasty look like she was expecting more.greedy

A woman and her autistic child were eating, and her son went to put his cup away and accidentally walked into the kitchen area. A employee immediately came out and told her they had to leave, and that they weren’t welcome back. I could tell she was very embarrassed. It was very upsetting to see that this restaurant cannot be compassionate or kind. I would understand if it was a different situation but you could clearly tell her son was mentally disabled. We will never be eating here again, especially since I myself had an autistic family member. The restaurant employees behavior was disgusting. Shame on them.

Several months ago this place was delicious. This time nothing was good. The shrimp cocktail was slimy. The sushi was mislabeled. The deserts were bland. All the dishes in the buffet tasted the same. Rangoo were hard like rocks. 😭

No stars, I got food poisoning and would later go to the ER. I threw up and other stuff too, I need to sue these guys ‘cause I had to pay $500 for an ER visit after throwing up all day. I’ll never go back, and I think it’ll get raided by the feds.

Took my wife and four kids and parents out to eat two of my kids didnt even eat, and yet the owner charged me for them and said next time he’ll do it by way so we don’t have to pay so much, sir learn to run your business. I am a general manager myself and I would never do that to my customers. You are the type of manager and owner that gives the restaurant industry a bad name so I disputed it with my debit card company and won I will never ever go back. The dragon buffet on Marbach is way better and they have fried crab as well as alcohol.

Ive been coming for years, SERVICE IS TERRIBLE The service is downright terrible. To pick up my plate before im done, hover over the table, ask us about the bill AND IM STILL EATING. Watching my sister eat every bite... then literally escorting her to pay the bill is insane. I have NEVER had to deal with that at any establishment, especially there. I do not know why she would do that, we werent even done eating and my sister was paying by tap to pay. We left and no goodbyes, or goodnights, rude miserable people. Again ive been going for years, ive never experienced that level of disrespect and distrust. I have never been escorted by ANY of their staff to pay. I understand people dine and dash but you discriminated against hard working people who just got off of work. Growing up in the service industry I never treated ANY one like that.

If I could give it 0 stars I would, if you are of color or have kids of color you will be stared at and treated extremely badly. I would not recommend eating here ever! Our waiter was extremely racist to the point where a woman of color walked passed her and she leaned back so that she would not touch her in any way.

Was excited to to try this place but we got asked multiple times about children ages we had twins 11 , 15 , 1 ... then was told 5 adult buffets which fine we have no problem paying if thats the rates. Were in middle of eating and your trying to secure payment Very uncomfortable like if your so worried about payment please charge upon entrance. We couldnt even go up to register to pay they took our bill for us. Never have I felt so targeted As a family dinner was ruined due to the negative vibe. We paid our bill and left. We didnt even stay a hour.

Don't waste your money here! 😫 I am so disappointed i chose this place over another one & $70 literally wasted! The rice was hard, the broccoli with chicken 🥦 tasted old. The mushrooms had a taste that wasn't good! Literally only had 3 small plates. The rib smelled ugly and wasn't good! The eggroll was ok. The food was really disappointing! The Chinese dounts were good and the ice cream was okay. 😞
