Opinions de Bakery Lorraine San Antonio
Good coffee / latte in a nice location. Would highly recommend giving this coffee shop a try. Nice selection of desserts, macaroons, breakfast and sandwiches. Give this place a try!
The wife got a fruit tart and a pistachio macaron. Both were superb and the atmosphere/vibe was fantastic. Workers were very friendly. Ordering at the outside window was very convenient and allowed us to skip the line.
I literally don’t have pictures because the food was gone before I could take some. The food was simply delightful, incredibly high quality and delicately crafted with time and effort; the Cuban, Ham & Brie, and Grilled cheese sandwiches along with the potato and salad sides were amazing and the cinnamon roll and cookies were excellent. The atmosphere was chill and cozy, and the service was friendly. Overall a must try
If you have some time and are looking for a really good cup of coffee and some outstanding treats, then you need to give Bakery Lorraine a try!! I met with a friend to catch up. I got a vanilla latte with oat milk and a cheese danish. The latte was really good & the danish was outstanding! My friend also enjoyed his coffee & cheese danish. He said the atmosphere reminded him of some of the little coffee shops he had visited in Europe! When we arrived at 9am on Friday, there were only a handful of seats taken. By the time we finally left at about 10:30am, all of the seats except a few were taken! Bakery Lorraine’s is a very popular location!
I met a business friend in the Pearl area for breakfast, and selected Bakery Lorraine for our meeting. This was my and theirs first visit in this area of the Pearl. I was able to park for free (see parking comments), and it was a short walk the bakery. Thankfully, it was a cool morning. I entered, found the Bakery very clean, tables bussed, and went over to the bakery party case and ordering line. We were promptly greeted, advised it was our first time, and told how the process works. After a few minutes we opted to not order any pastries, and ordered hot dishes. As you can see in the pictures, we ordered the quiche, and breakfast plate, along with latte and water. We found a table, and began our business talk. About 20 minutes later, our food was brought to our table. The presentation was nice. Note, I gave the food 4 stars because the, while everything tasted good, my dish - breakfast plate - was a little cool, and the diced potatoes were a little under cooked. We both had the opportunity to use the restrooms on premises, and found them to be very clean, and gender neutral. Overall, we had a good experience, and meeting. I'm guessing because it was a Wednesday morning around 9:30 am, business was light, and thus there wasn't that much noise in the Bakery / café. Business did pick up around 10:30'ish. I will be back to this area to explore other businesses, and will likely revisit this bakery as their food is tasty, even though my dish was cool. I hope that if you decide to visit this restaurant that your experience is as good or better than mine.
Eye with Offline - The pastries are not only delicious but so artistically beautiful! They truly are a feast for the eyes as well as your stomach. We got the Earl Grey Blueberry Eclair and the Key Lime Pie Tart. Excellent choice!! The coffee was really good and you can also add syrups. I'm def coming back soon!
Bakery Lorraine is such a gem in San Antonio. The location at the Pearl is perfect because you can grab pastries here and then spend the whole day shopping, exploring, and enjoying all the food options with family and friends. The shop itself is beautifully designed and decorated, making it feel warm and inviting. Their pastries are always top-notch. The macarons are delicate and flavorful, and the almond cream filled croissant is a favorite. I also love their hot chocolate, especially around the holidays. It is rich and comforting. The atmosphere is so relaxing that it is easy to lose track of time here.
This was a cute, quaint spot. Their coffee was not my favorite selection. But the coffee was not bad. I believe the majority of people come here for their baked goods. And baked goods is what I got. I will say that their pastries that are supposed to be flaky or extra flaky and delicious. I was not the biggest fan of us their cinnamon bun. However, they have a wide variety of baked goods. I am excited to continue to try them all.
Cozy little place for breakfast, despite the business and lack of indoor seating. If it had been warmer outside, that would have been no big deal. The baked goods looked incredible. The avocado toast was so yummy- with huge slice of bread! I got the veggie quiche- wasn’t expecting the artichoke heart and intense cheesy flavor. I would probably try the quiche Lorraine next time. The matcha latte was very very very good- not too sweet. Also picked up a bag or Merritt coffee beans. Would come here again to socialize, but maybe not to post up and work during the busy time.
I will not dissect one-by-one which pastry was good and how good. I will say that on my first-ever visit to San Antonio, in for barely two days for business, I made it a point to drop by this bakery. By French standards, the pastries were reasonably good. By American standards they were very good. The Kouign-Amann stole the show, albeit I'd have preferred it without the tartness of the lemon curd — although it was light, lovely and distinctive. I understand it as an identifier that sets apart from other bakeries. What I will commend like no other was the service. I came in, querying about some of the ingredients, for medical reasons. I was provided with an explicit list of all the ingredients in every pastry. I then went pn to order myriad goods and requested butters and jams on the side. I was given a hefty, overly generous amount. When I paid, there was an error on the bill – I was charged for three kouign-amanns rather than two. I only noticed it later when I got back to my hotel, the Emily Grand, from which I hiked over through the River Walk on this sweltering day. Before leaving the bakery, I went over to get cold water; the tank was empty and promptly refilled at my request, and a lidded-cup of ice water handed to me. When I called from the hotel some thirty minutes later and brought up the error on the receipt, it was refunded instantly and I received a confirmation email. The refund came with profuse apologies from management for the inconsequential error, apologies that were not necessary but exhibited graciousness and top-tier human relations. The next morning, when I returned to the bakery before flying out, I was greeted by management and given multiple compensatory pastries for the day before's mishap. Nothing I would have ever expected nor asked for, which in a scything, bureaucratic world left my mouth ajar. My husband also ordered a cold brew and a wonderful butter cake, while I an iced tea. Some ten minutes later, before I even had a chance to get around to the tea (for photographing food), the barrista came over to our table and profusely apologized that she had given us a hot tea rather than iced, and brought the latter with her, saying, "So sorry! Enjoy both!" I had forgotten what I ordered, and had not said so much as a word — she remembered all on her own and took initiative. Admirable and commendable. Now I fly back to Florida wishing Floridians had half the etiquette, respect, politeness, moral framework and humanity of Texans. Service at this bakery was sublime. I would give it 6 stars if I could, and will surely be back if and when I end up in San Antonio again. Food is good, vibe is awesome. Some of the best customer service I have ever witnessed in the world.

Always a must when we are in the area. The food was delicious. The staff were super friendly and attentive. I love the ambience and the patio was perfect for our brunch!

Really enjoyed the food here. It's fresh, tasty, and wholesome. Service wasn't too bad. The ambiance is similar to any cafe. The pastries were absolutely my favorite part.

This was the best ginger cookie I’ve ever had and I’ve tried a lot of ginger cookies in my life. I live in Canada and now I’m so disappointed I will likely never get this cookie again!
Stopped in for breakfast and it was a perfect trip. Scones were perfectly baked, and so many choices of baked goods. The real hit was the macrons. We ordered six. We're fans but not fanatics about…
Stopped for breakfast while exploring the Pearl District. The baked palmyra and London Fog were delicious, especially on a rainy/ cloudy day. Would definitely visit again!
When you just want a pastry and a coffee, this would be the place to go if you are anywhere near the Pearl. Both indoor and outdoor seating, they are currently limiting the number of inside guests…
Since we were in Pearl complex waiting for the river boat, we dropped in primarily for coffee at the Bakery Lorraine Another satisfied customer whom we met highly recommended this place. You order as you go thru a permanent chute. Couldn't resist the rounded cheese Danish which was generously filled with cream cheese. Had I had the Danish heated it would have been better. Thr medium roasted coffee was very good, served in a large squatty cup. My guest's puck we dvup the tab.
Good pastries. The bake on them could’ve been better as the croissants weren’t as flaky as I would’ve liked. We got the following, with asterisks to indicate what we enjoyed: - Pop Tart* - Strawberry Matcha Cookie* - Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie - Chocolate Chip Cookie* - Blueberry Scone - Chocolate Almond Croissant - Coffee Cafe
Had a quick breakfast here with my daughter. We ordered the breakfast sandwich croissant, a pop tart, a muffin, and an iced vanilla latte. Breakfast sandwich was delicious, but was also like $12-$14. Pop tart and muffin were good, but nothing special. I did not care for the espresso, my latte was way too sweet. I would go back here to try other options.
Was visiting San Antonio for the first time in years and stumbled across this place while walking thru the Pearl. Cozy little bakery/coffee shop. The best thing about this place is they are one of the few places that actually has things priced pretty well. A large coffee was $3.50. . . .a cookie was about $3, etc. Compared to other places in the Pearl District I thought this place had the most reasonable prices. Staff was nice, place was clean and the food was great. The only negative was their was a rather long wait for the restrooms (which was a little odd), but other than that we enjoyed our stop by and would go back.

This WAS our favorite spot to eat when we go to the Pearl. I think they have new owners. Our food came to us luke warm. Poto. where cold. prices are high.

This place is at the Pearl. The restaurant is somewhat massive. Staff is ok. Food is mediocre. Very poor quality coffee, horrible quiche Lorraine; tasteless, vulgar, just bad food. It is expensive.
I was happy to make it to Lorraine’s Bakery. The atmosphere was great, nice customer service. The pastries were delicious and outstanding coffee. The breakfast sandwich on the other hand was a big disappointment. Too much salt on the eggs and Turkey couldn’t even continue eating my sandwich. I thought it was probably just me but my guest agreed it was way too much salt. It’s definitely going to compost and even my dad said it wasn’t acceptable. With that being said just easy on the salt. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Way too much money for coffee and a danish since the rest wasn’t edible. Last note the bathroom sink needs cleaning overall great place.

It is a very cute environment and it was so fun to pop into! Unfortunately, I was accidentally given an item that had nuts in it, As someone who’s unfamiliar with pastries, there was no signage that warned that they were nuts in it. They were very kind of understanding and let me switch it out, but unfortunately, the damage was already done. If they could mark allergens better, especially when it comes to nuts that would be a good improvement.
Coffee was not even like warm. Took it back and they just poured more warm coffee on top. So not hot at all.

The worst service in the pearl. Ordering to go takes no less than an hour. Just went for a matcha lemonade and took 20 minutes to get, with no ice. Not worth the money or the wait.
