Went on a wed night. Decent crowd. Outdoor and indoor area. They have hookah available. Several beers to choose from and liquor. Good place to go for friends. They also have DJ music and small dance floor.
Honestly I read the reviews before coming.. decided to check it out... How is this place not packed during happy hour blows my mind.. plenty of space.. good service.. free tacos on Tuesday (quality goodness) and dogs are welcome. SMH sometimes.. I will be back! This will be S.A. spot
It is great for what it is! This is a fun, Texas themed, rustic dive that is a great place to meet people, enjoy a live show, shoot pool, throw darts, or eat from an awesome food truck adjacent out back. I love this bar!
Went here once but from the little I spent there it was fantastic, drinks aren't ridiculously expensive, bonfires in the back outdoor area and I think I saw some games out by the entrance. Great atmosphere and dog friendly!
Always a fun time with good music and fast service. Definitely the top spot to be for Sunday Funday starting in the early afternoon through the evening. Space to dance, stand and sit indoors and out. 2 bars, one on each end of the location. When it’s cold out they have a fire pit outside and live music separate from the indoor DJ as well. There is always an awesome food truck outside that makes the yummiest quesadillas. Staff are friendly and always remember me. There are televisions, pool tables, shuffle board and the darts inside and giant beer pong tournaments outdoors. Fun spot to go if your single, with a group of friends, or on a fun date.
Have not been to many bars since pandemic. Lady's were great friendly. Door staff curtious and respectful. Nice people good times. Don't forget the taco truck...
A place for everyone! Food truck hooks it up on site while beautiful bartenders serve up great cocktails to wash it down. Play pool or giant beer pong. Sunday is an interesting night to party with a DJ spinning till 2
Coolest place around! Everyone from the owners to the bartenders are super cool. The outside porch is huge, covered and dog friendly. Prices are good and plenty of games to play
Just got home and it’s was such a fun time there. Everyone was having so much fun and it was safe. Security guards were so nice and water was always readily available without waiting in line. I loved it
Female, day time Bartender was sweet. She gave us bar specials before we asked for it. Tons of fun adult games to play. Great open atmosphere
Had not been there in years. Went last night and had a blast. A lot of improvements. Friendly staff, cold drinks, live band. Had a great time. Highly recommend.
Cute little vibe, female bartender was nice to girls (thank god), tonyc set was good..he used to dj the little hole in the wall clubs back in the day, of course i said hi, and they are dog friendly here. 20 to 30s crowd, some people a bit older were around but they were chill. 10 out of 10
I've lived here for a year now and tried many bars in the area. This one is by far my favorite! Prices are cheap and they have a great selection of local craft beers and of course Lone Star tall boys $2.75 all the time! I wish more people would recommend it. Its a great spot for college students looking to relax, and eat at the food trucks across the street. Singhs is the best 😃
Fun atmosphere with good cheap drinks compared to a lot of places. Bartenders actually know what they are doing and not just a pretty face. Lots of different outdoor space and good selection of music.
First time visit. Only had drinks and a few appetizers from food truck around building. Parking is being worked on, but overall a nice place to relax and have a few chill drinks. Staff is super friendly and attentive. A must go back and visit location. Thank your!
Ok, I didn't have any food, but this place amazes me. As a kid growing up it was where all the bikers and Harley riders and tough guys would go for a beer after work or weekend fun. You would see nothing but motorcycles and like one minivan, Lol. Now, it's transformed into 21 + college kid Clar (Club+Bar) the place as then is still packed but with a dj playing club hits, takes reservations and has übers now lined up outside to take the drunks home and simple click of a screen. I guess the really are the center of the universe being the only Hybrid Bar I know of . (Love that term, Hybrid Bar) all fun fun fun on Sunday Funday it's so seems. I'll go back for sure to eat.
Great selection of brews on tap, delicious food trailer in the back (try the quesadillas)! Love going out to watch the Work Brothers band every first Saturday of the month. Fun, friendly, casual atmosphere. Dog-friendly as well!
This is an awesome place to have a few drinks and listen to music. Whether it's the DJ or live music it definitely doesn't disappoint. All the staff is friendly and does a great job of greeting everyone. The crowd is a mixed crowd which is very enjoyable and welcoming to everyone from the college crowd to the older couples. Definitely a place to visit of you're in the neighborhood!!
Went for a Sunday Funday/friend's birthday and I had a blast! I grew up on that side of town so it's always been a biker bar. Didn't even look its way for years. Completely different place, completely different vibe. What a great experience. Drinks were perfect, security and DJ were great. I will absolutely be going back.
5/5 recommend for college-aged persons, or older people who want to party like they are back at college. There were some people sitting and chatting casually earlier in the night (before 10 pm) but, they left as things got louder and the dancing crowd livened up. The music was all bangers!!! The bar staff was super friendly.
I love everything about this bar, the professionalism, the staff, the coziness. The way they've made me feel comfortable during covid with constant cleaning and social distancing. I've been coming here for a few years and I've always had the best experience with the staff. Prices are super reasonable and drinks are always on point!
Great spot for affordable drinks. Usual crowd is 30s and up. The food truck behind the bar is fantastic, my husband loves it, and there are lots of different areas to relax with different feels. The inside has the loud social scene of a usual bar with music and pool. The back has propane fire pits and the food truck (I suggest refilling the propane more often, they’re always running out when we’re there but it’s understandable). The front feels like a picnic scene almost. Like a laid back afternoon with giant beer pong.
Great atmosphere and extensive selection of shisha. The music was popular with everyone and the drinks were terrific. The only cons I would give the place are the bathrooms and how packed it was when we arrived, but it is expected.
Nice little bar with inside and outside tables. Although crowded, the bartenders were attentive and quick to get your drinks. I'm not a bar person, so this establishment isn't my thing; however, I have no complaints about the service. Highly recommended if this is your kind of thing.
Music is good. Drinks get the job done. The draft beer is so good, they definitely clean their lines regularly. The only downsides are limited parking and the lighting in the restrooms..they're atrocious and offensive.
Went on a Taco Tuesday!. Free mini tacos in the back. Your able to bring your pets on leash. Nice atmosphere. Nice mix of the younger and mature crowd.
This has become a college hang out bar. Not necessarily a bad or good thing but you have to remember what Hills and Dales used to be. It was a legit biker bar with early efforts to carry variety of beers not just the standard beers (coors, bud, miller). Now the bar really only had the standard beers and it played loud dance music on a Saturday afternoon while some college kids played a version of beer pong using a volleyball and trash cans as cups. The bar has definetly changed. Good for them for reinventing themselves but i did miss the chill vibe of the original, the camaraderie among the patrons and bikers.
Since the place got bought out its much nicer, no longer a biker bar. Beer selection is very good and cycles out frequently. Restrooms remain disgusting, but that's the only downside to this place.
I'm not really a club kinda guy but this place is pretty chill. Relaxing environment, wide range of music from hip hop to country (if you l like that), and helpful staff that checcs in on the table regularly.
Nice little bar with indoor/outdoor seating. Plenty of TV's, pool table, and giant outdoor beer 0oong featuring volley balls and trash cans. Excellent food truck on site. Free Taco Tuesday is also on point. Great place to hang out and have a few beers.
First time there. Interesting place. The ceiling patron plaques are a great tribute to past regulars. Friendly staff and patrons. Social distancing and temp scan before entering. Not much for cleaning after someone leaves however.
H&D is a very well known bar around UTSA and the Sunday night crowd was fun. The bartenders were fast, didn't overcharge and the drinks were not weak. Try the food truck outside, the mozzarella sticks are awesome.
My experiences here have always been up and down but for the most part they've been alright. The stint of remodeling that was happening for a while really changed the vibe of the place, and you can never tell what kind of crowd will be there from one day to the next. But, the beer is cold and there's plenty of seating to go around.
New ownership again (Feb/Mar 2017) so stop in and checkout the changes. They are cleaning it up and opening it up a bit. The place seems refreshed but still has that rustic vibe to it that we have all come to love about Hills'. Some includes are: They now serve liquor. Down from the 50+ beer taps to 16 - they say they will rotate different varieties in from time to time. Bottle and can beer selection is trimmed down QUITE a bit from what it used to be. The wooden deck is currently GONE - they say they are building a new covered patio area where it used to be but I'm not sure if it is going to be a deck or a slab, etc. The old bar has been replaced with a new one - all the name plaques were removed and relocated to a wall where the old beer coolers used to be. Two BRAND NEW pool tables. In the works: I was told they were going to add on to the building to add a small kitchen so they can serve some food but they will continue to allow you to order from Singh's and have it delivered inside. Bottom line is, it is still a fun place to go and hang out with friends. Times change and Hills has to change along with the them or there will be no more, so give it a chance. Good luck to the new owners!
Great little local bar. The bartenders are all friendly. Can get a little crowded on the weekends and Thursdays seem to be the college crowd. One of my favorite go to bars though. You can also bring your dog which is pretty neat.
Great atmosphere and always cool people to meet here. Giant beer pong (with garbage cans) is a lot of fun! Watch your tab though - I’ve been charged for drinks that were more expensive than what I ordered.
Lots of security. Staff was very attentive. Better lighting is needed over the selection of draft beer. It was hard to read the selections. We had to keep asking the bartender what was what. Wide choice of tables to seat outside.
Darts were broken and they don't provide change or cash back to be able to pay for pool. Bar tenders were cute and friendly.
Not gonna lie, I miss the old Hills & Dale's and while the new format is different, it's equally as cool. The owners have incorporated some of the old with the new, and the place shows pride and well thought out upgrades. Not the same beer selection, but you'll find some solid local pours as well as some hard alcohol. Check it out!
I hasn't visited this venue in a long time. They remodel it. It's more open. The menu is good. Nice variety of goodies. Ordered the quesadillas and poppers. They were delicious and on point. I ordered the Shiner on draft. My friends got vodka and water. I suggest you check it out for yourself. It will have a much better atmosphere once the COVID-19 diminishes. Enjoy!!!
Love this place, have been a customer for over 20 years, my dad and I used to drink beer here when he was still alive. It has transformed quite a bit over the years, from a biker bar to a college bar to now a trendy party spot Hills and Dales has been a classic spot to enjoy a good drink and a good time!
It was nice & all fun and games atmosphere. Which makes it feel cozy and like everyone knows u haha I can see how the masses and easily amused LOVE it. I admit it was ok. But its a bar on a Sunday which is their best night. Which is great for them but nothing extraordinary. In the end it is just a another bar where people have a good time :)
Cheap drinks and great views. This little bar used to be more of a biker hang out, but now with the college just across the street, has really blossomed into a good watering hole. Very nice young crowd in here as well as shuffleboard, pool, and darts. With daily drink specials, really makes it worth coming out and spending $20
Service seemed to favor one end of the bar more than the end I was at. I guess the customer need to bribe the waitresses with shots. Luckily a guy bartender showed up and started helping my end of the bar. Otherwise it was a reasonable experience.
Beers were not that cold but the service was pretty good. No air-conditioning so be prepared to sweat.
Not a biker bar, people. This is a long standing SA dive. Picnic tables and large draft selection complimented by an even larger selection of bottled beer. You can order a pizza, have it delivered, and chill with a large group. Definitely worth visiting. Update... Now a full bar. Still nice, but no longer the store of yesteryear. Nice patio.
Good bartenders, but bar doesn't have good variety of liquor choices.
Out of the way, middle of nowhere vibe but it's nice because it's a large place. Tons of patio seating. Decent drinks and overall vibe. Music was a bit loud. Played a wide variety between 80s, 90s, country pop and oldschool hiphop. A little something for everyone. Wish there was a bigger beer and cider selection, though. Bartender was nice at first but quickly got annoyed when it became busy. Food truck was expensive but the food was delicious. Biggest mozzarella sticks I've ever seen and definitely worth the price. It's a bit far out for me, but I may visit again in the future.
Went back to an old watering hole today, it has changed so much! It use to be an old country saloon, where you could sit under trees, drink beer and swap lies with your friends and make new ones. Apparently now it is a gentrified bar for college students and has a bouncer of all things. I will always carry fond memories and it continues to serve cold beer. No more peanuts, what a sad day.
Definitely not a chill place on Sunday. Every time I've been on a Sunday there's always drama/ fights. Good prices though. Mondays are fun because of the open mic.
College bar now vs biker bar. Happy hour on the day we were in was not what this place packs in normally I am sure. Great staff behind the bar, serving beers in plastic cups for 7 bucks...lol
Some friends and I had a couple of bad experiences here with the draft beer. Not sure if the lines are not cleaned properly or what, but it has happened more than once. Beer tastes bad or very cloudy and tasting like soap. Regardless, this is something that can be easily remedied and I wouldn't let it keep anyone from checking this place out. The staff is very friendly and it is a great place to grab a beer or two and have some fun. Food trucks nearby also make this a prime place to grab a cold one.
The service was ok. Bartenders were obviously trying to help everyone as best as possible but people were lingering and blocked the bar which made it harder to order. They need a designated area to order and walk away. Didn't like that they charged a cover for this type of place. Parking was terrible. Drinks were a little over priced compared to other places in the area.
If you’re looking for a place with a 27+ crowd that’s laid back- this is your spot. They have a food truck that’s partnered with them in the back of the lot along with a grace style feel that is both indoor and outdoor. For many, Hills & Dales is the go to spot to bring pets while listening to fun music. When I’ve gone on Fridays, they’ve played mostly hip hop and r&b and then some country, and pop. One thing to know about San Antonio spots in general is that most bars/clubs play dated music un ironically. Hills & Dales is typical in that way. My low rating comes from the service and the minimal attention to the bathroom. If you plan on being there long as a lady, prepare to wait in a poorly ventilated space. You may even get lucky and find questionable puddles of water on the floor. By the end of the night the toilets are brutally clogged and the back up toilet paper that is laid on top of the toilet paper canister is wet, soaking on the floor, or just empty. There are also portable restrooms in the back which was a better idea than the ladies restroom. At my age, I no longer desire to make compromises to use the restroom. With that said, this wasn’t my favorite place but for my friends they found it to be 5 stars.
Parking is limited and had to park very far and in someone’s front yard. Had to wait maybe 5 minutes in line before we got in. Some people paid to get in and thankfully me and my cousin didn’t. (I’m too old for that). I was invited and had never been here before. The atmosphere was more for college kids. It was very packed. Large outdoor area and large inside area where the bar is at. The bartenders were all pretty girls, not friendly and never smiled. I was ignored for a while and then I finally paid for my drink. I thought the price for 1 drink was pretty good. Dogs are allowed. Country music was playing (I love) but not my kinda crowd. Probably won’t come back.
You know, I really want to love this place but I just can't. While I appreciate live music the volume level is so high it makes the whole experience strained. You'll be sitting there enjoying a drink with your friends, and boom the music starts and your screaming at your buddies just to be barely heard. It's one thing to be that loud in a larger more crowded space, but at 4 on a Saturday afternoon with maybe twelve people inside?? A little ridiculous and highly off-putting. It's like the volume dial is set to 12 when 8 would be tolerably loud. That being said when this place is what it is a relaxing place to enjoy a beer, maybe play a yard game, enjoy some food from the food truck, and chill its great. When it's trying to be a cross between and night club and a rock concert... I'd rather go somewhere else. Also, the food truck is great. Some items are a little over priced but the food is tasty, and they lady there is super sweet.
History. I went to UTSA in the late 80s and was in the ROTC program. After training we would head to Hills and Dales which was a small gas station and convenience store. We would drink outside on picnic tables in harmony with other tables occupied by truckers, bikers and any other type you can think of. Later, they opened a restaurant called Little Hills which is now the Mexican restaurant. Fast forward about 7-9 years I come home from overseas and me and a buddy head there for nostalgia. They had gutted the store, removed the pumps and it was now a hang out for all the party hardy types. Not the place I remembered at all. But that's progress for you.
This place has changed hands the last few years and I really enjoyed it back when the Newman's owned it mainly because they actually had a beer selection. Under new management, they tore out all of the taps and instead is now offering mixed drinks. This used to be one of the only spots in the area with a craft beer selection and now it has just transformed in to a college student bar.
No parking in front of establishment. Dirt lot across street; the little bit of road that is paved is in pretty bad shape. In all my years of riding motorcycles, this would have to be one of the worse places to take a nice bike. The service is not good. The level of hospitality is Terrible, wearing skimpy outfits is appealing, but meaningless if the service is bad.
It's gone down hill. DJ plays the same songs every day and the beer selection is minimal. Lately every time I've gone my allergies get triggered. I finally realized why, it's the lack of cleanliness to maintain and upkeep the building. The vents are filled with dust and mold. With the amount of money this establishment makes, you would think it would go towards maintaining the building and making it better.
Price of the drinks are sky high! You can get easily kick out. If some one gone they have there costumers leave the area and not let them sit down to recover. They can care less if you drive drunk and possibly get into a accident. Bouncers are rude as well!
First off if you don’t want to work, call in. Twice I’ve been to this bar, love atmosphere but the bartender always ruins it. Eating her taco at bar top, Poor customer service. She denied drinks I requested due to lack of knowledge. Didn’t catch her name but she wears bandanna around her head. Doesn’t look like we will be coming back.
The bouncers and security jumped me Sunday night 08/14/22 the beat me with a baton, choked me and pulled a gun on me in my face. I do not recommend this bar to anyone. Especially women who go alone. I have scratches to underneath my breast. Please pleas women be cautious if you go alone. These bouncers/security staff are very very aggressive towards women.
This used to be an awesome neighborhood place to go in and grab a cool brew of many varieties, but now it's way too loud, no place to sit, and filled with people who are not even talking to each other... very weird vibe here.
Left a bar early to get here before last call. Had some doorman start flashing me with a flashlight in the parking lot to tell me they weren't letting anyone else in (at 1:35, 25 minutes before they close, easily 10 minutes before last call) then the wonderful doorman interrupts everytime I try to say anything by repeating "you can come for Sunday Funday tomorrow though" until finally he said "unless you can call the owner on his cell right now you need to leave". I was nothing but respectful and have spent many nights with tabs well into the triple digits here but was treated with disrespect and am debating if I ever want to come back again.
the female patio bartender that works sunday nights is always so drunk that it would be a miracle if any paying customers could get a drink. trashy
They fail to provide information upfront (such as their website) about their "dress code". Coming from out of town for the weekend and wanted to see what this joint was about... Tbh instinct regret. No music was heard even as we were walking up to the little weird entrance. Dude at the front wouldn't allow one of our party members admission due to simply wearing a plain white shirt... I would highly suggest including more details of your establishment & it's requirements on your site or social media.
Food at the food truck was amazing! Jimmy the bartender was amazing! But being cut off after two White Claws and 1 shot is unacceptable. When asking to speak with the person who cut me off, I was blown off and never answered. My friends were told they were allowed to stay and drink but I was done: they were served more than me. I understand overserving and doing the right thing. But I also understand standing up and accounting for your decisions.
If I could give this place a zero, I would. A bartender wrote in my tip for me! In front of my face! When I told him I didn't write this, he did nothing about it. It was a 6 dollar tip, on a 4 dollar tab...it's not about the money, it's about the principle. First, I know he wrote it in because he only gave me my customer copy, signed and tipped. Second, when he gave the recite back, he told me I didn't have to give him attitude when I was trying to give him my name to find my tab. Third, who says that to their customers. Plus, I was not giving the bartender attitude. I was just trying to talk over the live band behind me and was having a great time before hand. This made me so angry and sad at the same time. Fourth, you know he did it because when I confronted him, he did nothing and brushed me off. The fact that someone would have the audacity to do that and treat their customers like this is appalling. I talked to the manager or What was said to be the manager and she told me, "there's nothing she can do about it right now because they were so busy, but that she'd zero it out." Idk if that's even going to happen. But man this just makes me so mad. That employee is more than likely getting away with fraudulent activity straight in front of the customers face and nothing is being done about it. Terrible, I'm so upset. I really liked this place, but now I will never go back because I cant support that kind of business. Get your self together Hills and Dales. This happened May 19, 2018 and the guy seemed to be the only male bartender there.
It used to be so great. It was a dive in the best of ways with a great tap list. Went in the other day and 40+ taps have been reduced to less than 10. Good craft beer offerings have been replaced by pißwasser macros like Miller Light, Coors, Bud Light, Michelob, and other objectively terrible beers. The redesign was good aesthetically and I'm happy for it to get cleaned up but all the character of the old place and the great beer list is gone. Shame on who made that terrible decision. I won't be going back.
I don’t give bad reviews ever. But today took the cake. I just finished a hike and have passed this place often and wanted to dine here. I’d always seen it quite busy. I dine when it’s not busy due to COVID. My waitress came to so I could get something to drink. I asked for a menu which was scanned to my phone. She brought my drink and asked if I wanted a tab. I told her no and if I could add my food. She told me dining and drinks were ordered separately. So I got my drink and waited for someone over 15 minutes to take my order. No one came. I did not finish my beer and left. Told the guy at the entrance that they must not of wanted my business and would never come back and told him why. He told me he was sorry that food was ordered from the food truck on the other side/back of the building. I was never told that. I am not a local or a Texan. The waitress was not helpful and not interested in this information. I won’t go back.
The bouncer mistaken me for being intoxicated stating bartender told them to cut me off yet I had no drink in hand and was in the phone on the outside of venue near fence due to loud music the bouncer who’s 400lbs and 6’5 lifted me and tossed me like a doll as I asked for my sister and I mentioned they must’ve had the wrong person since I wasn’t drinking anymore I had 3 drinks prior and holding water bottle at that point NOT TO MENTION I was literally about to Uber out. MY SISTER WAS IN RR WHEN HE PHYSICALLY ATTACKED ME ! I’m sore full of bruises and neck pain! on top my necklace watch were stolen from being popped off when thrown! He literally waited til I was alone he aske me no questions nor was I even warned it was like I was alone he picked on me grabbed me and threw me my clothes were ruined n back sore from him squeezing my lil 5’1 120 lb body! Never go here! Horrible service horrible bartenders and disgusting restrooms!!! I am looking into pressing charges as I was able to obtain footage of this bouncer being COMPLETELY OUT OF LINE! Uncivilized inhumane individuals here!
I came here with my husband and some rude “bottle service girl” had my husband escorted out of the bar because she didn’t like how he was in the way while he was waiting for me in the restroom. He had to leave and dump his drink. Word of advice for that rude bottle service girl, get off your high horse because if you forgot you’re a waitress not Beyoncé & be kind to the people you meet because you never know when your health might end up in someone else’s care.. My husband is military vet and works in the largest ER hospital in San Antonio. Be nice cause karma isn’t too nice.
Sunday night 20$ for one person to enter and the line will take you 1 hour to get in . ❌The front security will take some money to cut the line for you and he will cut the line for people that’s he knows them. Very disrespectful people and the place it’s turned way bad than before.
Where do I start. With all the great reviews I guess I’ll be the first to trash it. 1) $10 to get in? No event, special DJ, game or fight. Totally not worth 10 bucks to get in just to enjoy a few drinks. 2) and this is the MAIN one. They hold your debit/credit card when opening a tab, which is weird considering they swipe it to open the tab and it’s not needed to close a tab. Which now brings up 3) they lost my card!!!!!! YOU LOST MY CARD IN YOUR POSSESSION! I can only assume they gave it to someone with my same last name. Like I said I closed my tab because there is no reason to hold the card since it’s swiped. I froze my card and I left my number in case the person came back in to leave mine and collect his but nothing. I called and no answer. They reply with a text but hardly even reply. Customer service sucks. I’ll try tomorrow and go by to see one more time before I fully cancel the card a request a new one which is really inconvenient. Definitely am not coming back. Place is trash
Used to be a fantastic place, now its nothing but hipster kids. Beer selection leaves much to be desired. They used to have a great crowd but they chose to drive out all their regulars to be "trendy and hip". Don't bother going here anymore. Poor management and sloppy service will quickly be the ruin of this place.
I use to like coming to this bar. Good vibes great drinks. But I’m not okay with my friend being told by a bouncer that she has to take a break from the bar due to a bartender having some kinda of beef. That’s is not okay and right at all. We asked to speak to a manager and the bouncer did nothing at all. This place is going down hill. One bartender should not be able to do that due to a beef with someone.
Was very rudely told no kids and to go away and try ordering outside the fence if we wanted anything. No signs, no warnings, just shouted at without explanation. Worst environment. But they have someone’s useless little dog in there taking a piss on their fake grass.
We went for the food and hoped to find a chill atmosphere to eat and drink but after buying our first drink we were told by a very rude employee that children were not allowed on the premises and forced my wife and daughters to stand in the parking lot.. there are no signs stating anything like that and nothing on here saying so
They play the worst music. Nothing but honky country music. All of today's country sounds the same. Trash.
These bartenders can really use a training course. The say they pour 1.5oz. When I brought the less than 1oz shot to attention and asked if they had a jigger, she said, what’s your issue? No we don’t have a jigger. It was a slow Sunday and the attitude and lack of training was ridiculous. Maybe spend less time on your phone and learn to use a jigger.. js
Where do I start?!... We need the old H'nD back! The beers, the bikers, the grill, the live music... This place looks, feels different, bad different. And, out of control... What a shame!
My friend and I went to enjoy a night out. Upon our departure she asked the bartender by the exit for a bottle water and cup with ice because she’s anemic. When she got to the exit gate the Anglo guy with a potato shaped body, grabbed the drink out of her hand and launched it. When I went over to see what was going on, the same potato shaped man crushed my drink in my hands because I was “looking at him in his eyes” with my drink. He walked away cause he was afraid to “lose it”. The other security guard who was there and darker skinned with puffy under eye bags was yelling curse words at us and telling us to leave. Super weird behavior for a bar and “security guards”
WHY ARE YOU PLAYING DANCE MUSIC AT ONE MILLION DECIBELS WITH FLASHING LIGHTS AT 6 PM ON A FRIDAY? I will never come back here for happy hour it’s ridiculous.
Haven't been here in a couple years and it has definitely changed. No more coolers with hundreds of bottles of beer on the wall! Hookahs burning flavored something. Everyone gets patted down by 3 cops on duty before entering! Full bar but few beer selections. Next door is a Mexican restaurant(old Far Out Saloon) that closes after lunch but there was a taco truck behind H&D's.
Sooo Sad. Not the old H&D which had a great mix of people and beer offerings and peanuts with great to-go bottle beer selection. No more, basically beers you can get at any convenience store, lousy seating, and not the dive characters it had before. So sad to see this ruined by the new owners but they did the same to the Unfriendly Spot too so it was expected. Mo'money. Overall, not worth the effort to come here if you are looking for a craft beer location with character. Go to the 7-11 get a six-pack and hang out under the bridge, you'll have a better time.
