We went on a Thursday night, it wasn’t crowded but, the bar was pretty full. Our waitress at the bar table was Jayla and she was pleasant and knew the menus very well. The food was and drinks were delicious. The drinks were a bit pricey but, delicious.

We had such an an amazing experience here. Victoria was an awesome host and the service was second to none! This was my first time here and she made it a memorable memory for my family. The food that she recommended was fantastic, the unsweetened tea went down very smooth and my goodness we left full. Thanks again for the extremely hot horse radish and heartburn. We'll be back to try more of the menu soon!

You could never go wrong coming here.. A couple of things I love is they always have happy hour.. and the Drinks are super strong and my favorite appetizer is the Chicken Satay‼️‼️‼️

Just left Kona Grill after going for first time date night. Our waiter Ryan, was incredible. He had us laughing all throughout the night and was incredibly attentive! He recommended one of their appetizers, which was amazing, I will definitely be back, whether I get a second date or not!

Me and my boyfriend came to celebrate our one year anniversary. Our server Sofia made us feel so special and welcomed. She was so thoughtful and explain the menu to us since it was our first time. Seriously, one of the best servers I've ever had at any restaurant I would come again.

I've had this KG burger twice and it's so delicious. Super juicy and flavorful. The meat is cooked just right and the fries are perfectly golden and crisp. The secret sauce is addicting and it was pretty cheap for a fat burger with 2 pattys! I believe it was $9 for the burger meal. I've also tried some chicken lemon pasta that was really good!

This was my first time eating at "Kona Grill". The atmosphere was terrific, and the food hit the soul. I was impressed with how fast I receive the food considering that other people were waiting. You should make reservations before arriving if you like wait for a table. They a wide variety of foods to select from and can accommodate a full appetite or a lighter one. I would be coming here more often.

I had a outdoor lunch on the patio here on a Saturday and there wasn’t a large crowd. The Picasso sushi plate was delicious. There were jalapeño slices on every piece (which I cut in half because it was a bit much) and it added the perfect amount of spice and flavor. The waiter Marc was also the BEST!! He was knowledgeable on the restaurant and menu. I’ll definitely be back soon.

Came for a date night and we had an awesome time. This was the first time we tried Kona, and always hear about the sake bombs. The drinks were great, but honestly the service is what made the night. Ryan really took care of us. Super friendly guy, on top of everything, and just made it easy to relax and enjoy the evening. My date even mentioned how smooth everything felt, which says a lot cause she's like, SUPER annoying about good service. Definitely gonna come again during the week when its less crazy.

This is one of my favorite restaurants when I visit San Antonio. Everything I've had is delicious. The waiter was kinda enough to ask if I had any allergies or dietary restrictions before he put in my order. I had the avocado egg rolls and the shrimp tacos. The egg rolls are a personal favorite of mine. They are amazing. Pretty pricey though at $20 for 2 egg rolls. The waiter let me the know the tacos were a little spicy. They were but they were delicious. They had about 3-4 shrimp per taco so I was able to taste the shrimp in every bite. I can't wait until I'm in town again to try some more dishes.

Had a great experience here at Kona grill! It was my birthday and I was wanting some sushi. 1.all day happy hour is amazing. The host was sweet but a little quite , we had avocado egg rolls as the store continued to get busy our server Brayden and manager came over and gave me a happy birthday card with staff signatures this ment so much to me as I was talking to the manager about how I hate my bday and this really made my day. The music was great. Carpets could use some work but overall a great place to be. Thank you again Kona!

The food here was amazing! I have to say this is some of the best sushi I had in Texas and San Antonio (I’m from the east coast here with the military so I know good sushi) since I’ve been to Texas (over a year) I have had mediocre food to say the least. Everything we had today was great. I had the prime rib which was good (didn’t love the mash potato’s but I’m not a big potato person) and my boyfriend had the ribeye and he said it was amazing and loved the fingerling potato’s. Prices are a bit high but since this was some great food it was worth it. 10/10 would recommend

I rarely leave reviews, but my waitress Anabel seriously made my day. My husband and I decided to dine here for our anniversary & this young lady went above and beyond to really give us a special night. We had a great experience overall. We had a chopped salad with Salmon as the protein. We also had calamari. Both dishes were quite tasty. My wife a dragonfruit Margarita. She enjoyed very much. Great time tonight at Kona! Decided to stop by after my shift, and i’m so glad I did. I got the jalapeño yellowtail sashimi which was delicious. The fish was super fresh and cold. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy, and my server was very kind. The manager Tyler also took a moment to introduce himself and make sure I had everything I needed. We were out shopping and decided to stop here. Mid-lunch time and we didn’t have to wait very long at all. Honestly, my only complaint is how FILTHY the outside patio floors are. I was wearing brand new white shoes and when we left, they were caked on the bottom with black slime. Definitely needs a power wash. Other than that, food came out quick and hot. I can’t remember our servers name, but he was very attentive and kind.

When you first enter you're automatically greeted by a loud but upbeat style hangout location. There's lots of beautiful decoratives and interior designing that gives it a cozy and well-lit tone where you'd want to celebrate or enjoy time with family and friends. Although it doesn't necessarily scream "family oriented" it is kid-friendly and they are just as welcome so please feel free to bring all ages with you! Mind that all of these events took place during Mother's Day so it was very busy and crowded during this time and the staff were in a rush. • Inside was very crowded upon arrival as everyone, like ourselves, were there to celebrate Mother's Day. The wait time was short, but it's highly advised to book a reservation so that you get priority placing • The inside was fairly clean although we did have some utensils that were dirty and the bathroom floor was messy (the toilets were spotless from what I found though). • a lot of the dishes come in big portions and will be filling even if you are sharing the meals. They offer to-go trays so you can take leftovers with you! In terms of the food, everything tasted amazing and came out while still hot so we enjoyed the meal. I'd say out of all the foods the rolls and penne were among my favorites! • The Las Vegas Roll was savory with a slight sweetness and had a nice, light crunchy texture from the fried exterior. The sauce and noodles paired well together and offered an interesting new taste. • The rainbow roll had a fresh and cooling umami flavor that wasn't fishy at all and featured beautiful presentation. It's the perfect size to share if you're trying sushi for the first time or ordering multiple entrees. • For the Ribeye Meatballs I didn't eat the macadamia nuts (I'm not a fan of raw nuts) but the meatballs themselves were well seasoned and the mashed potatoes were soft with a sweet sauce. The savoury aroma and the firm but tender nature of the dish was a nice pairing. • The Lemon Garlic Penne had a fresh citrus smell that felt perfect as a summer dish. The flavor felt open with the earthy feel of the tomato and arugula and the small spice of the chili flakes that would dance in the back of the throat. The garlic bread was pleasantly crunchy, seasoned, and also included cheese (it makes for a great dipping into the remaining sauce). It was a very vibrant experience in looks and taste. • The NY Strip Steak was probably one our least favorites, but it wasn't bad. It was a bit difficult to cut through as it was partially dry and tough and slightly unserseasoned, but it was still a nice taste with a lovely grilled aroma and a small kick of spice. The potatoes paired with it were crispy and soft and well seasoned (a great compliment to the steak) and the offered sauce was decent (but we preferred the food without the sauce so we didnt use it much). My favorite experience besides the food was the friendliness of the staff and how attentive they were despite being overwhelmed by so many customers. They greeted everyone at the door, made effort to check-in with tables, were kind when we had requests for services (asking for new utensils, extra plates, etc.) and even handed out flowers to the mothers as a gift. I appreciated this little detail the most as it wasn't something the restaurant had to do, but chose to include just to make the experience all the better. Kona Grill pairs great service with an energetic atmosphere and flavorful food that I'm sure anyone would love to experience and is why I highly recommend for anyone especially for hosting celebrations!

They're a little slow out of the gate on service but anymore I think that's the standard just about everywhere. The food is great, the presentation speaks for itself in the pictures. The outdoor seating option is perfect for spring.

Cindy was AMAZING!! I expected better quality for the seabass slider. The bottom bun was pure mush and the slaw was just dry slaw mix thrown on. A better bun execution and seasoning all the way through each layer is important when you charge $25 for two tiny sammiches. The chips were good but a fun dip would have been great too. The fish was cooked nicely but tiny. The pickle was the definite star.

Great service from our server, Lexx. She was attentive and pleasant. I had the macadamia French toast from the brunch menu and it was fantastic! I also had the Avocado rolls which were good. Great presentation of food, however the prices seemed a bit high for the portions served. All-in-all, it was a good experience.

We had a good time. The wait time was very long, but when we got seated, we were greeted, and drink orders were taken within 5 minutes. The food took a while to come out but it was very busy. I'm not sure what the theme was because the menu had steaks, burgers and sushi's. The items were pricey but they were justified per the location. The wagyu steak fried rice was delicious, but the steak is only cooked well done. It's also a small portion, but it was really good. My favorite thing on the menu was probably the poke bowl my daughter ordered.

We both had the KG Cheeseburger and fries on a weekday afternoon for lunch. The burgers were very good, but it would have been nice to have a smaller option; we could each only eat half. The fries were absolute crack! I am absolutely anti-french fry, but these were amazing! i.could.not.stop.eating.them. Service was adequate, nothing to complain about really; everyone was nice and helpful, but really distracted and the conop here seems to be you scan with your phone for the menu and for the bill... but it's not intuitive and unless you eat at restaurants like that regularly, it's disorienting. My father with his hearing aids was not bothered by the music, but it was too loud for me; i had trouble hearing the wait staff and in conversation with my dad. Not going out of my way to eat here again, but if i was at La Cantera for another reason, it would be an option.

We decided to give Kona Grill another try today since it had been a while. We ordered miso soup, chicken satay, and a ribeye with grilled shrimp. Our experience started when we had to wait a long time to get some sugar for our drinks. The miso soup was pretty average, not as good as what you'd typically find at most sushi places. The chicken satay was decent, but the peanut sauce was underwhelming, and we didn't get any smaller plates, which made things a bit messy. The ribeye was tasty but slightly overcooked, and the grilled shrimp that came with it were rubbery and frozen. Overall, the meal was okay and reminded us why we hadn't visited in years.

I was too excited to go to Kona Grill as it was recommended to me by many of my friends. It's located in fancy La Cantera. The ambience is very good. Staff is very friendly and the best part is that they are open late. I was too excited to have sushi here. We ordered their Sake flight and it was good. Their sushi was decent enough, I was expecting it to be much better though. Their stir fry veggies with chicken and rice was the best part of our meal.

We visited this restaurant for brunch on a Sunday and had a mixed experience. Unfortunately, the atmosphere inside was damp and had an unpleasant odor, and the tables and menus were sticky. However, I must say that the eggs benedict I ordered was quite enjoyable. My wife initially wanted a double cappuccino, but they couldn't make it for whatever reason, so she settled for regular coffee. She opted for the Kona Loco for her meal, which had seared spam over rice, but surprisingly, it only had one thin slice of spam. In terms of food taste and service, things were satisfactory, but the cleanliness issue was a letdown. It definitely impacted our overall dining experience, and we wouldn't recommend visiting this restaurant due to that aspect.

Conveniently located in a hot spot traffic area of the mall we stopped by for happy hour to kill some time. It was overall an okay experience. It felt like our waitress was too busy to check on us even though no one was there, which was kinda weird. The food was great though. Not 100% my idea of cost to portion ratio but it’s understandable and not the worst I’ve seen. All in all I’d go back because the drinks were fantastic and the food was still very delicious, but maybe I’d sit at the bar.

For a high dollar establishment with a reputation that precedes it, I went in with an expectation of grandeur. I was underwhelmed by the food, the service or the atmosphere. I was greeted with a hostess that really didn't like her job or was just having a bad day. Either way, It was disheartening. We had a reservation that was late by almost an hour to be seated. The food smelled phenomenal. So I ordered a Surf N Turf with a Ribeye medium rare and lobster roll. The food recieved was a well done thin sliced ribeye ,Brussel sprouts that were so pungent with vinegar I was able to eat them. My lobster roll was not horrible despite the pieces of shell that were not adequately cleaned. before prep. I can't say it was a horrible experience but not sure I will go back.

Nice place but the service was not, “excellent”, Chik-Fil-A has better customer service than this place. Nothing great about the food, however it was okay but I wouldn’t recommend the calamari as it was over cooked. The restaurant seats were dirty from the previous guests, not wiped down, which was unappealing immediately. I’ve been to the location at North Star Mall and service there is way better than this La Cantera location, by far.

I was here April 5 with my 2 sister in-laws. Though our waitress did an amazing job and the place looked nice inside, I was not impressed by the food. It looked fancy but lacked flavor or something. I had fish & chips and avocado egg rolls.

Food was good. However, we weren’t comfortable eating for at the feet of our table was old food and napkins not picked up. And the table next to us had more food on the floor and was nasty but the table was cleaned for a guest but the floors below gross. It was gross and made us say we won’t eat there again because they can’t even clean the floors after someone leaves the table. Take a look at the pics. This was the table next to us and our look the same underneath. Won’t be back food was pricey for a dirty environment.

We walked in and wow the place is so clean, big and modern inside! We were impressed! We looked around and at the fish tank for a minute or more before being helped and were sat promptly. It took our waitress 6-8 minutes to come to our table by then we were ready to order. The waitress took our order and few minutes later we got our drinks and a few minutes after that our $16 cup of tomato soup and our $21 chicken satay. Both were very tasty and well prepared but pricey! Not too long after we got our entrees I got the macadamia nut chicken which was pretty tasty a well prepared, my wife got the KG sliders which were cooked well with nice French fries. We may have seen the waitress twice, we both ran out of drinks but just asked for our check and skipped dessert once we saw her again. The food is pretty good but way way overpriced and our service was subpar... we definitely will not dine there again with all the other great spots nearby.

Garbage, basura! We went in about 830 PM and the hostess was not at her station but rather sitting at a separate table on her phone. They claimed to have "good" steak but they were unable to cook a steak black-and-blue. They were out of the cut of steak I ordered and subbed it for a gristly dog food grade ribeye. The side was fritas, which had the distinctive deep fried flavor of the Texas state fair. My partner got wagyu fried rice that was mid. The best food we got was the app which was... fried pickles. The margaritas and the waiter were fine. The price at the end was roughly 130.00. Go to any place else, like a dumpster behind a fast-food restaurant.

What a rip off. I could barely hear the person next to me from how loud the music was. It was also nye so maybe it just that one day. Food was good but not for $20 a roll good. It’s 8 pieces with no complimentary bread or soup or salad. Not worth it. Server looked rushed and for luxury prices, you would expect luxury service.

I truly don’t understand the rave reviews. The service was friendly but it was downhill from there. They had a limited menu since they’re moving locations soon so there were several things we couldn’t order that we had planned to. If I had known this ahead of time we would have just gone somewhere else. Then the food. I got the rainbow roll which at $24 is outrageous. But the most disappointing thing was that it tasted terrible! The fish on top was slimy and smelled weird. It was definitely not fresh. I ate maybe three pieces and left the rest hoping I didn’t get sick later. The restaurant and restroom could also use a deep clean. It felt grungy.

The food was the best part but that’s not saying much. It was ok…glad it was happy hour prices. The server was new which would have been ok except he spent more time chatting with the other servers than serving. Got a drink order wrong and didn’t bring appetizers plates until we’d already finished. The worst part was how dirty the whole place was…it looked like it hadn’t been swept or wiped down. The bathroom was also dirty. Disappointed and won’t go back.

The food here was very pleasant and I thought it was also priced totally reasonably, if not a great deal! However, my night here could have gone a lot better, as I had an awful service experience that dampened my night greatly. I had this young girl with black hair and eyebrow piercing by the name of Annabelle as my waitress; she started out pretty pleasant but I don't know what happened she started being really rude and passive aggressive. It happened after I asked for a refill, she rolled her eyes and sighed super hard at me, and any time after that I asked for anything, she mumbled something under her breathe and was trying to like rush me to leave or finish up. I saw her pointing at me and laughing with another coworker there and I seriously don't know what I did to offend her- but as someone in restaurant management, I KNOW you guys didn't train her to be this way to customers. She even commented on my tip implying that it wasn't good enough at the end of the night. This is an otherwise very nice establishment, honestly someone like that was totally out of place here and even bringing others into the messiness. It totally killed the atmosphere and my mood for the night, but I'd go again if I didn't have the same girl as my waitress because the food was great.

Great location in a big shopping mall. Went during happy hour. Drinks are good. Food is okay. $21 sushi dish on regular menu is not impressive. So stay at happy hour menu if you can. Be aware of credit card charge though. Dine once there, charged twice. Called to correct: one charge gone, another yet bigger charge showed up instead.

First time there, last time there. Also, first time in my life I don’t leave a tip at a restaurant. I always give a tip even with bad service but today was reeeeaaaallly bad. The server was nice, she seemed like a good person, but did not bring silverware until about 5 minutes AFTER the food was served and never came back to the table so we had to ask another employee for a to-go box. Speaking of the food, while I don’t expect Michelin star food at a restaurant chain, the prices do not correlate to the quality of the food. Even Chili’s frozen food is better quality at almost half the price. Also, my chosen sides were messed up and I had to wait for them to bring the correct side. The bento box insert plates were almost in crumbles, making it really unsafe in case a piece of plastic from the plates falls to the food and gets eaten by a child or an adult… basically a lawsuit waiting to happen. Finally, the men’s bathroom smelled heavily of vomit. I don’t know if someone puked there recently or if it has been like that for some time, but it was really disgusting. I gave 2 stars because this is not a revenge review or anything. Just an honest review of a very disappointing experience. The extra star is because at least the clam chowder was good. Unacceptable but will never go back.

Not too crowed and took us a bit to get seated as the hostess was away. Food was decent and priced $25-$35 per person. Overall a decent experience. Waited was not attentive nor the best. Went for my wife’s birthday and lady forgot. It happens but overall not impressed for the price of the food.

This place is slowly going down hill. Is it because they know they're moving locations? The place is looking pretty rough (from the dining area to the restroom) and the servers didn't appear happy to be there. Our server took a while to come back to our table to check on us. We had to ask for simple things repeatedly, and my wife's order came out long before mine - and by the time she started eating it (Poke Bowl), she realized it wasn't prepared correctly, so it was sent back. The saving grace was the manager who must have overheard us or maybe our server mentioned the ball dropping, either way, he treated us to a round of drinks and apologized for the wait we had. I don't recall his name, but the manager checked up on us during the rest of the dining experience and gave us a few BOGO appetizer cards for next time. He also discounted our ticket. We are extremely grateful - he was very nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, this a back-to-back experience of poor or inadequate service. The last time we simply sat at the bar and that bartender... well... she most certainly didn't want to be there. (I get it, we all have days like that.) Why do we continue to go? The food is fare, the drinks are decent, and it's a convenient location after shopping in LA Cantera. We have faith that "it'll be better next time." Kick it up a notch, Kona Grill! Came with a bridal party tonight after reading so many rave reviews. We sat for 25 minutes before we were even offered a water. We were minutes away from walking down the street to PF Changs when a kind waitress named Emma noticed that no one had gotten to us yet & apologized. She took our order & we hoped things would turn around from there. Nope. One of the girls ordered the NY Strip & was given steak frites. When she asked for it to be corrected a male waiter said “well it’s the same thing” — except it’s not. We never saw Emma again. What appeared to be a manager took over the table at that point and at least kept our waters filled. I don’t know. I can confidently say that I have never had such bad service. Super disappointed for my sweet sister on what was supposed to be a special night. I will say that the food was good, but definitely overpriced for its worth. If this is the standard practice here, I’m not sure how they have such amazing reviews. Hoping it was just an off night but probably not going to test that theory anytime soon.

Decided to come here for Veterans Day for dinner. I thought I'd be seated promptly because we had reservations and we showed up 15 minutes prior. I understand it was veterans day and it's going to be busy/packed but it's ridiculous to advertise it as reservations when it was reallly just a waiting list. I'll have to review again once I'm able to sit down and eat here ! Despite being so full and packed, the hostess was helpful.

They advertise Happy hour online, but when we show up today, there are signs saying no happy hour. We asked the hostess to cancel reservation and a few other questions. She was not knowledgeable nor helpful. The carpet was filthy

Been here twice. Once for Veterans Day and once again a week later. Both times the server was non existent. Never asked how everything was going for us. Never checked our drinks for refills. Looks like they were there to just make money? Which I get but you don’t get tips because you expect them. You’re a SERVER you’re giving us SERVICE. All they did both times was greet us, get us our drinks and food. Then never check on us. So freaking weird… decided to come again last night for a second try and it was the same experience as the first time

So disappointing. My wife and I used to come here often when we lived in SA. Moved to Austin about 10yrs ago and had heard they remodeled and updated the restaurant so we were excited to check it out while visiting UTSA with my daughter. Upon entering we saw a shot glass left in a dirty flower basket on the patio. No big deal I thought. Stuff like that happens. Upon entering we were seated immediately which was nice but as I looked around, I started noticing how run down the place was. There were chandeliers with light bulbs that were out, The blocked square things hanging above us had trash in them and were visibly tattered and coming apart. The vent above my table look like it might drop something gross in it at any second and there was food still on the floor from the previous night (we were one of the first patrons in the restaurant that day). When I visit a restaurant and drop $100 for lunch I don't want to feel like I'm eating at Waffle House. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands before our meal arrived and a chef from back of the house came out of the stall and walked out of the bathroom without even washing his hands. So disgusting. Also, there's some weird box of rocks thing next to my booth that made it hard to get in and out of. Not sure what it's for but it was full of trash. Not sure who is managing the restaurant these days or who did the remodel but the restaurant is less attractive without the big aquarium and nice booths. The bathroom somehow got smaller and the workmanship of the remodel looks like it was done by high school students. We won't be back.

This is possibly the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. Waited 10 minutes for the waiter to come to our table - we ordered our meal and drinks at this time. Then waited another 15 minutes for him to bring water. We ordered sodas but he told us the soda machine was out. Yet other tables were having soda beverages brought to their tables. He then asked us again what food we ordered meaning he hadn’t put it in, 15 minutes later. Then one entree was brought out with an incorrect app (we didn’t order an app). The waiter was confused, the person delivering the food was confused. We got the manager involved who brought an extra dish while we waited for the second entree to be delivered. The sushi was fine, but the special and sides were terrible. The Mac and cheese is buttered noodles. The manager tried to help, but it was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. Also, the waiter had 3 tables and each one complained to the waiter. 2 complaining to the manager. We were given coupons for another dining experience, but we won’t ever be going back.

Our server was amazing. There was many other issues. First our loaded fries came out with jalapeño on them when we asked for them on side as kids were going to be eating them. Next the online menu is out of date so we were not able to order what we originally wanted. When the KG sliders came out there was stuff from the toothpicks on the burgers. The restrooms were gross. I wouldn't pay $180 for that experience ever again.

My experience was HORRIBLE. My server, Mya Celeste was terrible. She had a horrible attitude and didn’t provide any proper service. Another staff member, Von, took better care of me than my own waitress. She didn’t check up on us, she didnt provide our group any normal service other than taking our order. Food was alright but the service was so awful. The only reason I would come back is because Von.

We ordered 3 meals to be delivered earlier. There were two steak dinners and one wagyu steak fried rice dinner. When we received our order it was missing the wagyu steak fried rice. The steak dinners and all sides were received. I called the restaurant and was put on hold by 5 different people before being told that our order was packed correctly and I need to file a claim with Uber. The bag came sealed, I highly doubt the uber driver took it (and if he was going to steal food I would assume he would want one of the steaks). Will not be going back.

The sushi tasted like it was from grocery store and it was $20 for a regular roll. All other rolls were$25-30. Very over priced. Food had no flavor and also over priced for the quality and quality. $31 for Pad Thai and it was barely enough for one person. We had very bad service. Had a bug in my wine. When we got our food we had no utensils or napkins. We had no water or condiments such as soy sauce or ketchup. Then they made is wait got a table when the restaurant was half empty.

Went there for lunch with my daughter and sister. We got seated pretty quick. But the waiter took forever to finally come over and take our drink order. When he finally did bring our drinks. He forgot to bring lemon for the tea and waters. That took another 6 mins to bring. Then we ordered the dynamite shrimp and edamommes. I dont know what to the dynamite shrimp but that was a joke. The portion was hardly anything and the sizes of the shrimp was a joke. They were like little bits and pieces. As much money that was dropped that day. I wish I would went somewhere else with better service and better portion sizes for the appetizers. I was very disappointed and I love Kona Grill.

Food was disgusting, we ordered food for 3 people and no of us could finish the food because of how bad it was. The rolls had a fishy taste (yes I know is seafood, but fishy in a bad way) there was this spongy stuff in our roll which I can only guess is was the salmon but that looks like anything but salmon. The shrimp fried rice was meh and it was 19 for this little container. The avocado egg rolls was just like they put a whole avocado in it and nothing else and fried it. Very disappointed, we just wasted $120 in food we couldn't even eat. DON'T COME HERE!!

I'm extremely disappointed in the service I received at Kona Grill. As a loyal fan of the restaurant, I've been let down not once, but twice. On my latest visit, we were seated for 15 minutes without a drink. Our waitress would periodically tell us to 'please wait, because she was going to do some stuff.' We decided to be patient, but when she took our drink order, we were excited to finally get something to quench our thirst. However, as our waitress walked around the restaurant, our drinks were nowhere to be seen. The host was friendly and courteous, which was a nice touch. Nevertheless, it's clear that the restaurant needs to hire more staff. Despite being Columbus Day, the restaurant wasn't even close to full, and yet they still struggled to provide basic service. It's inexcusable to wait 15 minutes for drinks, especially when the staff seems overwhelmed. In contrast, my experience at the Northstar location was completely different. The service was top-notch, even when the restaurant was busy. If you're a fan of Kona Grill, I would recommend opting for the Northstar location instead.

Update.... Sent email as requested in response from management. No response so I'm assuming it was just lip service. Terrible dining experience. The place was not busy but still took forever to take our order. Martini served in a wine glass without garnish as all their glasses were dirty and they were unable to make daughters drink order. Sent the martini back. The food order came to us piecemeal after complaining about how long it was taking. Never received utensils and we had to go find our own. Food was okay but not worth the price. At the end of our meal were told they had martini glasses and could make my martini. Bartender either has an issue with me or a complete idiot. Served me a warm vodka shot in a martini glass. Manager never came by to talk to us and the poor waitress was in tears. I expect a certain level of service on a $400 tab.

I came here today on a Thursday evening and was in the mood for some steak. It wasn’t crowded at all, which was perfect for me. I got a patio seat as I requested but nobody serviced my table. I waited over 15 minutes, almost 20. I got up and left, went to Yard House just a bit further up the road, and was serviced exceptionally better on their patio in a timely manner. Wow Kona, do better.

My wife and I only come to this restaurant on special occasions like Veterans Day. This year the service was horrible. We centered our entire day around this in store meal and it was a waste of time. We sat down and ordered and waited, and waited, and waited....45-60 min later no food, no silverware, and no water that we asked for when we ordered...We were on the verge of walking out. We had to go to the bar and ask for silverware that was wrapped in a linen napkin (as customary for restaurants at this level) which is sad. Then our food comes out an hour later... needless to say we've been angry and hungry for quite some time. At 1 point ☝️ there were 3 tables with customers having their hands up at the same time trying to get the server's attention. Bottom line, service was bad 👎. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant or location to anyone door a special occasion. To top it off, the restaurant wasn't even remotely as busy as we expected it to be for lunch on Veterans Day. We will not be coming back here. If you choose to try it, good luck with the service. You might be there an hour waiting on your food and water and silverware with no explanation or updates on the status of your order or when you'll get the water you ordered.

This place has gone down hill. Won't be coming back. For one they were out of everythingvfrom steaks, draft beer, seabass. Had signs on door saying no walkin reservations yet more than half the tables were empty. The food we did get was less than ok. The atmoshere is nothing like Kona. Went over to Yard House which is less pricy with much better food! I can see this business closing. Dissapointed.

The worst dinner ever. The location at La Cantera is closing and the food on the New Year’s Eve was horrible. There was no soda and draft beer. The managers did not care about making the end of the year a pleasant experience. The waiters were all nice and attentive. The food was horrible. My friend got sick after eating sushi.

whoever was bartending 12/1 between 7-9 was serving drinks with dirty glasses... thank god our wonderful server gave us a new glass. Please retrain your bartender, this is NOT sanitary. Would not comeback.

The food was good. Nothing out of the normal. I will say that I feel like the sushi is overpriced and you can find much better sushi which cheaper prices elsewhere. My main issue with this place is that it is definitely not a place that can keep up good customer service when busy. Made reservations for 6:15 and had to wait 30 minutes to seated. We got a text saying our table was ready before 6:15. We asked the hostess what the text message was for and she said it was to make sure we were showing up to our reservation still… even though we were sat 30 minutes after our reservation time. Other people ended up leaving due to waiting so long even with reservations. The hostess was standoffish but I’m assuming it’s because she was getting annoyed with everyone asking about their place in like. Just doesn’t really make sense to only accept people who have reservations, yet still having to wait to be seated and feeling rushed to confirm a reservation on time. Our waiter said she was new, which is totally fine, but she definitely seemed like she did not care about working there. She was just lacking a lot of communication and giving us bad information on some of the menu items along with other things. She was nice but definitely wasn’t making an effort on really knowing what was going on, especially on a busy day. We did ask to speak to a manager to really just give feedback on the overall experience since we were just given bad information since we got there, but they never showed up. This was my first time here at this Kona grill and while I don’t want to judge a restaurant based on one of their busier days, the experience was lackluster due to the staffing. Much better places to eat around this area. Maybe on a less busier day, with different staff would change the experience.

Well, where can I begin the fact that the soda machine was down. There’s no soda or the fact that all the food taste like you know what and the fact that I asked for pork fried rice and they bring Me fried rice that still and big balls of rice. Literally looks like balls of rice with ham. So they expect you to pay for rice with zero veggies. It’s horrible is really sad. Because I remember I used to come to Kona Grill. I love coming here. I love their food, but the place is literally turned into trash. Don’t bother coming here. I don’t mind paying the prices, but you’re not getting the quality. The meat is very poor quality as well. The chicken didn’t even look like real chicken, so you’re basically paying high cause for fast food food. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would not come back, even after. I’ve been a loyal customer four years. It’s just so quality. Has gone down so much. The lemons for the IC were rotten. The ice tea super foggy. The Windows of the restaurant are extremely dirty. Like the dividers. This is horrible. The ribs taste horrible. Everything is the fries. Super cooked. Not crunchy is bad. This is the First restaurant that I come to. Where is three of us. This is horrible. You’re paying $40 for half rack of ribs to see next to dirty windows that have not been cleaned. Everything is very dirty. Everything is very low quality surprise. Look like the last of the fryer. God knows when was the last time they changed the oil and extremely soggy and full of Oil. Not your crunchy fresh fries. So again, just know that you’re gonna be very high for a very low quality food, and a very dirty nasty place. You should see. The chairs are full of things are disgusting. I literally want to vomit.

Deceptive pricing. Pricing online is cheaper than pricing in the store, no mention of that while ordering over the phone. Ordered a double cheeseburger with chips, $9.99 online. I was charged $10.81 after tax so I assumed the order would be correct. Upon arriving home I open the box to a single patty burger with cheese ($7.99 online). The store manager basically shifted all the blame to me stating the mix up was my fault, I should’ve known the pricing was different in store vs online. Okay….? Well I still ordered a double cheeseburger over the phone and only received a single. So I got shorted on food and overcharged.
