Landry’s Steakhouse on the River Walk absolutely delivered for our group. We came in as two families with 11 people total on a very busy weekend, and the entire team went above and beyond to accommodate us without ever making us feel like a burden. Our server, Crystal, was the star of the night—her attention to detail was truly unmatched. She immediately picked up on the reality of hangry kids and had bread baskets on the table right away, which honestly set the tone for how smoothly the whole meal went. The service was paced perfectly, everything was handled with patience and professionalism, and the food was phenomenal—our steaks came out cooked perfectly across the board. Huge thanks to Crystal and the staff for making a hectic night feel easy. We’ll absolutely be back.

Chrystal was a delight, personable, efficient yet gauged our timing effectively, no rush, just right! The food was perfect! I had pan seared redfish with the Melissa sauce and while the fish was done well the sauce was the best. My husband ate the green beans! And the redfish! Service was impeccable, can’t fault a thing!

I had a wonderful experience. The view was absolutely beautiful, and the ambience made the entire meal feel special and relaxing. My waiter, Chris, was incredibly attentive and diligent—he made sure I had everything I needed throughout the night. The oysters on the half shell were delicious, and the bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly with amazing flavor. I also highly recommend the tangy agave drink and the mango mojito — both were refreshing and full of flavor. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I would definitely return!

I had a wonderful time here! The atmosphere was amazing. I know this may sound weird but the smell in the restaurant made me melt. The lighting was perfect not too bright but not dark to where I couldn't read the menu. Everything was clean and in tip top shape. The hostess was amazing she greeted me & my guest the moment we walked down the stairs. Also she very attentive paying attention to the small details! My waiter Timoty made sure we had everything we needed he was great! I ordered the Charboiled Oysters OMG I wanted to flip the table over when I tasted them! They were so delicious 6 wasn't enough! Only thing I would say negatively is that the onions string are kind of over the top when paired with fried, maybe do like less portion of the onion strings. All and all great place for a date or special occasions.

Excellent for a Milestone Birthday Happy Hour Even the simplest appetizers (spinach and red beans) were incredibly flavorful and delicious. The evening started with slow service, but Candace stepped in to make cocktails and shots, and made sure our birthday girl had a great time. The dessert options are unreal!!! You can’t go wrong. (Definitely ask for extra spoons.) The Jazz Band playing took requests and even sang Happy Birthday. 🎉🎈 I can’t stress enough that the evening would not have gone half as well, without Candace stepping in. We were considering going elsewhere after the first round.

During the week of our Keller Williams Realty conference, we had plenty of dining choices, but couldn’t pass up Landry’s. Jose had us work cut out for him - we had a rather large group. But he stayed on top of everything and made the experience a delight. I would recommend this location and plan to return when in San Antonio again. Well done all!

Had an amazing dinner at Landry’s on the San Antonio Riverwalk, but the real highlight was our waiter, Anthony. The food and service were already top notch, but Anthony took it over the top with his magic tricks. I missed getting the first one on video (and it was wild), but we caught the second one and we still can’t figure out how he did it. Not only was he entertaining, but he made the whole dining experience feel personal and memorable. If you’re dining here, make sure you ask for Anthony—you’ll get great service and maybe even a little magic.

Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. The food and drinks were delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. If you’re heading here on a busy weekend, I highly recommend using Uber or Lyft since parking can be limited. Totally worth the trip though.

As a member of the Landry's family, my recent dining experience was very enjoyable. The music created a lively and inviting atmosphere, and the service was attentive and warm. The manager went above and beyond, personally introducing himself and ensuring we had everything we needed. This level of hospitality is rare and truly deserves five stars on its own. As for the entrees, the steak was tender with a decent sear, though think their sister restaraunt, Mortons, still has the better cut. The sea bass was an absolute standout—one of the top ones I've ever had. Not everything was flawless. The lobster appetizer fell short, as the batter was a bit on the soggy side and slightly undercooked, so it was sent back. The wedge salad didn't have much dressing, so I requested some more on side. On a brighter note, the Vodka Martini was perfectly crafted. Coupled with the excellent service and lively ambiance, this restaurant has plenty to offer, especially if you focus on the main courses.

We just happened upon this place as we strolled the Riverwalk. It wasn’t busy, and we were seated immediately. I don’t think the hostess told the waitress she had seated us in her section so it did take a short bit before we were acknowledged. However, when our waitress (Faith) saw us, she apologized about the wait. She was a fabulous server, personable, kind and appreciative. We just had a couple of cocktails and lunch: chicken tenders and fish and chips. Quite tasty. I have NEVER ordered fried fish before anywhere. I have no idea what prompted me to order it, but it was a very good choice. This was a totally unplanned stop on our trip, but it was probably our favorite. We experienced so many rude restaurant staff on the Riverwalk—to the point we don’t want to go back. But the staff at Mad Dogs—especially Faith—were great. Thank you!!

Ambiance was truly stellar, and yes you get to keep your glass. However, we missed the keep your glass part and it was nearly $25 dollars for one drink. Also, all the beers on tap were generic. For a British Pub I went there expecting an english ale and was disappointed that there were none. Staff generally friendly.

First time to this establishment- Felt like an inconvenience to be seated even with a reservation and no one was jumping to wait on us. Once greeted by someone he really didn’t seem to know what to recommend, everything I asked about he just said it was good. Ordered a $50 plate of sea-bass which was smaller than the palm of my hand, had maybe a cup of rice and small serving of green beans. Way over cooked and very dry. Lady manager came over and wasn’t empathetic at all, just took the plate away with a bit of attitude like we made the fish small and inedible. Never said anything much or returned, she just removed it from the bill. We spent $300 for three people and one unable to eat. I wouldn’t waste money here. We walked elsewhere to eat so we wouldn’t go to bed hungry. Sad because this is our Christmas vacation and I tried to make this our first stop experience. Very disappointed!

First restaurant we tried on the River Walk and it was disappointing. We sat at an outdoor table for about 10 minutes, watching uniformed staff casually chatting without paying attention to us. I eventually flagged down the gentleman who was calling in customers. He joked that we were in his “blind spot” (the owner would understand what he meant). Once we finally received service, things were acceptable. Food and drinks were decent. However, one important issue was that the wheelchair lift was out of order, meaning there was no accessibility for wheelchair users to enter the restaurant, not ideal.

The location is excellent. It’s right in the heart of the River Walk, which was extremely crowded on a Friday evening during the holidays. Even so, since we had a reservation, the wait to be seated was minimal. That said, two tables that arrived after us were served first, finished their meals, and left while we waited a full hour for our food. The server said she would check on the seared scallops we ordered, but never told us that some items were unavailable while we were waiting. In the end, the four of us had to share just three main dishes. Even considering how busy it was, a one-hour wait for food was far too long. The food itself was disappointing—some dishes were overly salty, others bland, and overall the quality was very poor. Still, the restaurant’s view and atmosphere were nice.

My dad had ordered a beer and had to remind their server but still didn’t get it until at least 20 minutes after the reminder. My mom had ordered the lobster tail, which on the menu says it comes with asparagus and mashed potatoes, but they were missing from her plate. On the reservation I wrote a note that my parents speak limited english but I’m not sure if the restaurant doesn’t have access to those notes or just didn’t bother to read it. What a horrible experience. I don't often write 1 star reviews, but I'll make an exception for an experience where I have absolutely no desire to come back. A romantic Riverwalk experience is the wrong expectations for Mad Dogs. That should've been obvious by the uniforms the staff wear. They're really going for bar maiden rather than any sort of decency. We sat outside in hopes to enjoy the Riverwalk atmosphere, but Mad Dogs seemed to actively work to destroy this. Right next door is a lovely jazz band playing where the patio can here it, but inside and just outside at Mad Dogs, they blast horrible music and have huge sports games. The music was a stark contrast with what was going on next door and hearing them both was quite unpleasant. Then at 9pm their musicians started blasting their own music and we new we had to leave soon. There was no warning that this would start within 35 min when we were offered our table. Sitting right next to us there was a man smoking a cigar right next to us, which was frequently leaving a stinging odor as we waited. That didn't add to the atmosphere we were looking for. We ordered a Texas Chili Mac burger and the soup, which the waitress tried to order, but found was sold out. Fine, but usually you'd be told what is sold out before being asked what you'd like. So we switched to the Longhorn Steak and Ale pie. And we waited for about 20 minutes before our waitress coming to tell us they're all out of that pie as well! So we changed to the Cottage Pie as a last ditch option, when we really should've left. Surprisingly 5 minutes later our order is out. The food was hot and the Cottage Pie was decent. The burger was inedible. It was quite obviously sitting under a heat lamp for those 25 minutes. (Ironic because it was cool enough outside that a heat lamp would've been nice on the patio.) It made the top bun crispy while the bottom was soft. The meat was poorly cooked and also dry. The rest of the toppings were such an afterthought they detracted from a dry overcooked patty. The Mac and cheese were in such low quantity that I thought they forgot them. When I brought up how the burger was so bad I didn't want to eat it, our waitress just offered to discount it. Apparently that didn't mean remove it or make it right, but instead give $1.90 off the price. Which ended up being about half the credit card fee I didn't see posted. Mad Dogs was really an affront to all 5 senses.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Staff was inattentive. Sat down, no service, not offered a drink after a few minutes waiting and very few people in the restaurant. We were passed by several servers literally moving chairs. Bartender, Jackie, was rude, rolled her eyes and made a comment to a server as we were leaving. We were only addressed when we got up to leave the restaurant. It was painfully obvious we were not welcomed in this restaurant. Would like to speak with corporate office regarding my experience tonight.

Terrible food and very slow service. We got the Scotch eggs, they were 90% crust. Then we ordered the cottage pie. Pulled off the top layer and there was maybe 2 tablespoons of filling. Had to send it back. We had to wait a full 1/2 hour just to pay for the appetizer and beverages. No refills offered during the time there either.

I don’t often leave bad reviews, however, the service we received was particularly poor at Mad Dogs. When we arrived we were told to sit anywhere we would like so we chose a nice table outside to enjoy the riverwalk. In my opinion the table we chose was likely in a blind spot for servers, but I do not think that warrants the mediocre service we received. We ordered a drink from our waitress, received it, and then seemingly got ignored by her for the next 20 minutes. This was particularly disappointing because we wanted to order more and instead of being approached again we watched our waitress stand around, not even engaging with other guests, for a lot of it. After the second attempt to flag her down as she passed us failed we eventually resorted to flagging down a different server to order another drink and some fries. It took another several minutes for our server to reappear to ask what we would like to order. In total we interacted with 4 different servers and the 3 who weren’t assigned to serve us did a better job than our original girl. If dining on the riverwalk please consider dining elsewhere. As for Mad Dogs, y’all should consider removing the table to the left of the stairs closest to the river as I believe this blind spot issue greatly contributed to our poor experience.

You can check my profile, I rarely leave reviews, but this one felt necessary. We came here for a wedding anniversary after 4 days in SA and wanted to try a seafood establishment. We made a reservation and after being seated and placing our orders it was roughly an hour and a half before receiving our filet mignon and lobster orders($200). The steak was ordered medium and received well done tasting like a sirloin and the lobster was well overdone and cold. Upon making the waitress aware, which I’ve never done, we received another order that was essentially the same. Not wanting to be a burden we paid and tipped and left extremely disappointed on our last day in Texas. Choose wisely for your nicer dinners on the river. Let me post their soon to be response without fixing said issues: “Thank you for choosing to dine with us, as we know you could have chosen anywhere to enjoy your meal.
