Great place to catch the game and a cold beer. They have plenty of seating and a huge projector screen. They even serve sausage and pepperoni pizza by the whole or slice and it's not bad at all. Piping hot with a crisy crust. We got two whole pizzas and the waitress was really quick to serve us.

Went to see the "SA Papis" drag king show! So much fun! We were able to reserve a table on cash app that came with shots!

They brought back a great Karaoke host and had a great time. Drink prices are a bit high for me but will be back because of the friendly staff and of course the Karaoke 🎤 😉.

Its always a good time here at the bend. Stopped in for a drink with my wife for her birthday. They had her favorite beer on tap (austin Eastcider Pineapple with chile around the rim) the bartenders were nice and very accommodating. Great place!

I like to come here because they usually have UFC fights for no cover charge. The drinks are not over priced and they have a pretty good food truck out front. They have plenty of tvs for sports, not a bad seat in the place. They even have a big screen on the back patio.

OMG The service is always on point. I think the times I went, they always have 1 person at the bar, but they always have the rime to treat you well. They don't serve food, but you are welcomed to bring chips and salsa, order take out, or bring your leftovers from home.

Best Dive Bar in the area. This establishment came highly recommended by some friends and did not disappoint! The bars staff are honest, friendly and attentive. Although additional weekly events would increase customer attendance I personally enjoyed that this establishment wasn't overly crowded. The atmosphere of the bar felt elegant but also laid back. The service was friendly and quick and there was an overall welcoming feeling. The restrooms as well as the rest of the bar were clean and tidy. There are a variety of drinks specials depending on the day, and they have very good craft beers on draft too!

Good Saturday night sitting outside while DJ spun some music Exactly two years later and a great night of midweek karaoke to enjoy a friend returning for a quick visit. An attentive bar tender who made sure to take care of one of the group who had too much to drink earned the fifth star. This place is amazing. We were looking for a place to watch the Charger/Denver game. as we were visiting from out of state. The bar was excellent, staff very friendly and accommodating. There home brew was great. There BBQ was excellent and surprisingly was free on Foitball Sunday. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The Bend is a super chill bar to go to at anytime of the day. Always very friendly bartenders. Smoking is restricted to the outside, but part of the bar is hybrid (inside/outside). The smokers love to sit there and of course all the smoke blows inside. So, it seems like you can smoke indoors, because you're hit with the smell of smoke immediately when you enter the bar. It's not so bad when the other hybrid doors are open. Karaoke with Toby on Tuesdays and Thursdays is awesome as well!

Great little place for an office get together, party, or just hang out for a drink. Prices are reasonable, and the staff is on point. Hosted a retirement party and it was a night to remember, able to set up the tables the way we wanted to, able to bring outside food and even cleared a bit for a dance floor. Highly recommend this establishment!

You can ride your bike on the trails & hit this bar! Beautiful back patio w/ plenty of seating, fans & games. The bar is a u-shape view for inside/outside service. Clean restrooms & location. One of the friendliest bars I have ever been to , Mari and Savannah are the nicest bartenders I've ever met , large selection of draft beer and liquor , patrons are friendly and easy going great atmosphere. Definitely will be back.

Older crowd with Karaoke. I don't typically come here even though I live close by. It has a really nice wooden patio though, great for getting away from the bad karaoke acts.

Good bar to watch games if you can handle smoke. Smokers are officially outside but sitting at the bar and the smoke definitely carries throughout the building.

The Bend Sports Bar is a neighborhood bar on the Northwest side of San Antonio. Good drink specials & plenty of screens, plus bar games & a ATM. I was there for a S.A. Commanders watch party. No kitchen, so free food was brought in for the party. If you're hungry, eat before or bring food from a nearby restaurant.

The Bend is a very friendly, chill Sports Bar on Bandera Road. Then people who work there are friendly and so is the clientele who frequent the bar. Thursdays feature Karaoke and the bar always has their big screen TV tuned to sports events. I've held social events at this bar during the week because they are so accommodating. You can bring in your own food if you want as well. There's a large deck outside for socializing during the warmer months. Drinks are.moderately priced. The only downside of those local bar is that there is no on site food. They have a food truck outside in the parking lot but this seems to only be available on Weekends. There's a Tamale guy who comes into the bar selling tamales for $10 for a pack of 10. They're delicious! But he just wanders in whenever....so don't depend on that....still his are the best tamales in town! (No I'm not affiliated with either the bar or the tamale guy! ) The bar owner is very nice to work with when arranging an event in the bar. I contacted her via the bar Facebook page and she was very helpful. Overall I love this place but the lack of food is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

Great place to hang out for drinks and sports pre pandemic. The bartenders are always on it, and take care of you to make sure your drinks are filled and you are having a great time. They have a lunch menu as well in the afternoon. Cant wait to get back over here once the pandemic is over.

This place has a true dive bar kind of feel. Lots of screens all over the place so you can find a sporting event that suites you. The bartender that was working the evening we went in was great. She bounced from the regulars to the first timers making sure everyone had what they needed. The whole time she was also stocking all the coolers in preparation for the busy times on the next shift. It was definitely a great place to wait out three traffic on our way to dinner.

Pretty good. I went there for the Crawfish. They only had two bartenders working for such a large crowd. So bartending service suffered a bit. I did like the setup, however. I would go back if in the area.

This is a great place to go relax with some friends. They have an awesome patio and great drink selection (with reasonable prices). I've been there for a couple live bands, and they had a taco truck that was out at night. Overall a friendly place that's kept clean. I would suggest stopping by for a much needed drink at the end of the day or stopping by on the weekend.

As old type bar as it gets. Went Sunday night when it was very nice and empty. Awesome outside patio surrounded by woods. Clients and bartenders in t-shirts, shorts and flip flops so this is NOT the place to impress anyone. Drinks were only ok but orices not as bad as they can be in bars.

This is a friendly neighborhood bar. Not a restaurant or a place to take your kids. There’s a lot of tvs so it’s a great place to watch sports, and have a few beers ir drinks with your friends. There’s also a nice deck overlooking the green belt.

Stopped by on a weeknight with friends for some beers. The lady bartender helping us out was great. I got Schiner Boch, which they had on draft for $5 a pint. The indoor bar felt cramped with a pool table and bar tables. The outside patio was nice and breezy in the evening. Definitely enjoyed our visit.

This place would rock if they offered a food menu. Spacious patio and pet friendly is already plus!! Drinks are inexpensive as well.

Chairs and tables can use updating. Good food. Food service great and courteous. Bar service was okay.

Bartenders were cool and they had a basketball game so I was happy about that. But it was kinda dead and boring. They only have 1 pool table. It's ok but not for me.

Bartender was friendly, concocted what was ordered well, but had a bit of delay getting us our simple nachos & cheese (cheese definitely was watered down, as nearly none stuck to the chips). The "sports" part of "The Bend" consisted of 1, ill placed pay per game, pool table that sported great bumpers, but the bill accepter was inoperable, so quarters only were taken, don't bother lookingfor hand chalk, 2 quarter dart boards, and an electronic basketball arcade style machine. Overall it's more of just a bar vs. sports bar. On the upside, your dogs are allowed in, the restrooms were immaculate. With some extra hands behind the bar and a bit of rearranging, they could gain extra seating for patrons as well as have their snack items to the patrons in a timely manner.

The music is lame.. all the songs on the touchtunes are edited and the music is too low. As my friend said, "It's like a damn cafeteria. All you hear is people talking." Drinks are a little pricey. Bartenders are nice though.

Dj had no sense of what people were into until too late in the evening... he just say there and played on his phone while his playlist just played on and everyone ignored it pretty much. Other than that, this place is pretty good

Every time me and my boyfriend go to this bar and its been 4 times, we like to sit at the bar that's outside because I smoke and I think it great that there is one bar that allows it even though we are outside but every time we sit there, there is an issue first you can't sit at the first chair because someone won it in a raffle you can sit but when he gets here you have to move. RUDE. Second 2 t.v.'s on baseball we asked if one could be on boxing and was told no the man next to us was watching both. And when he was done then she could change the channel. He wasn't even watching he was talking to other people. Both of us are Hispanic and it's starting to look dangerously like discrimination so you tell me what's really going on.

My experience was horrible. Pool table had no sticks to go with it beer was warm. Service was horrible. The ladies behind the bar just sit around and talk unless they know you then u get decent service. Overpriced for the experience.

This place makes life miserable for everyone who lives in the neighborhood behind it. They have no respect for common sense noise ordinances. They play loud music outside when they should play loud music inside their building. We have families and children trying to sleep while the loud music often plays past 11 and beyond midnight. Please have some respect for the community and play loud music inside.

Good place to go when you want to plastered in public and never get cut off by bartenders.

Security is non existent. Takers lore around the lot and physically grab and take people walking out of the bars. Luckily, I had people around me to get me out of the takers trunk. Reports show this isn’t the first attempt in their lot. Management clearly doesn’t care, so be careful.

I'm not a fan. So, good things first: There's Jenga. That's kind of it? The people there can be rowdy, rude, and creepy. One guy kept constantly staring at my friend, and she asked him to stop. He kept on, so she told him to stop. Then another guy had the nerve to tell her she was being the rude one for simply telling this other man to stop staring. I can confirm that it was a creepy, non-stop stare. Not like a "Oh, I just so happen to keep looking in your area of direction, my bad." We even had some guy trying to get us to eat brownies, and when we said no, he kept asking why and persisting. One of my friends has a legit gluten allergy, and when she politely said no thank you, he asked, "Why?" And she said she's allergic. Which first off, if someone says no to a stranger offering a brownie at a bar, there really doesn't need to be further pursuit beyond that. Just respect the answer. She's a quieter person, so she isn't very confrontational - to which he took advantage of to keep pestering her with questions until we chimed in strongly. After his several questions, he finally knocked it off- but a bar allowing patrons to give out brownies (while may sound great in idea because brownies 😆) actually says a lot about the bar's lack of safety. Depending on the person, if it were a weed brownie, they could lose their job upon drug testing. If it had something else in it, it could create very dangerous situations. I'm not saying that people are putting roofies in brownies all the time, but it's a crazy world out there in the worst of ways sometimes. Maybe he just needs to go back to Pre-K to learn what we all were brought up learning, that no means no in general. But, who's to say there wasn't a special batch? Nobody would be able to confirm that. While yes, just say no is fine. Some people aren't as aware and may take it without thinking. Younger people especially. I try to give the benefit of the doubt to people, but regardless, the bar doesn't know what's in the brownies or any other food offered by any fellow patrons, so it seems quite a liability to be allowing that. When a bar doesn't put safety in mind, I tend to stay away because what else do they let slide? They have a good amount of seating, but half of it is right up next to speakers indoors, and the other half is outside on the back patio. This would be fine, but apparently barely anyone wants to be seated next to speakers (me too) so everyone opts for outside, which means all the tables and chairs get taken up and it gets crowded. The wooden chairs are majorly off balance, btw. I'll see 1-2 people dancing next to the speakers, but that's it. It makes me wonder if they lessened the tables and chairs of the indoor area, if more people would dance, since not many sit there anyway. The Bend does have a dog area outside - complete with a doggie bag/throw poop away station. Unfortunately, it is literally right beside a picnic table that is on a very weirdly steep hill. Not only do you feel like you're falling when sitting, but you also have dog poop right next to you. Awesome! While I love a spot that allows dogs, the area given to them is not fenced in, so they can't really play in it. It's mainly for pooping, I believe. Which again - not sure who wants the smell of poop near the bench they're sitting at. There's three benches total that are right next to the poop lawn. It seems like that area would be better put to use by allowing more patio furniture or keeping it fenced for dogs to play. Mixing both so close to each other just flat out doesn't seem smart. Drinks-wise, they're pretty watered down and not worth it. I ordered a margarita there, not only was it watered down, but arrived in a small glass (similar to that for whiskey), and wasn't even full! What's the point of any of that? This place has room to be better. Safer practices on not allowing people to hand out their random food, more room for a dance floor, better drink services, and utilizing their outdoor area more effectively for the fact that this is a social location.

This place is always a dump. The prices are way too high. The bartenders are decent, on a good day. If its late & they don't feel like serving, they'll just say they're closed. Bathrooms are a wreck. I seriously don't know why anyone comes here. There are a ton of other bars in the vicinity. If you come here you'll regret it.

I’ve always enjoyed The Bend for its atmosphere and location — it’s a spot I’ve often looked forward to visiting after my Saturday shifts. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was a letdown. Despite it being a relatively slow night, I waited over 10 minutes for a drink while watching other guests who arrived after me receive service first. As someone in the industry, I understand busy moments, but this felt more like a lack of attentiveness than being overwhelmed. Watching bartenders prioritize conversations over service made the experience even more disappointing. The Bend has so much potential, but consistent, attentive service is what keeps guests coming back — and that was missing this time.

Walked in last night to order one drink and there were two women (not sure their names) who just stood right in front of me talking behind the bar. The bigger one leaned in as if she was gonna take my order but kept her head turned and stayed engaged in her conversation so I walked out. I don’t see how people like that who work in these places actually expect tips. I almost stayed and let her make my drink just to put $0 on the receipt for her tip cause her subpar service but the atmosphere had already soured my mood. I won’t be back
