Opinions de Pizzaria "Artur's" San Blas
They are always popular and you might need to wait. We left our name and were advised to be available in 20-30 mins. Their iconic menu is pizza however i love their pasta too! We ordered garlic clam, tomato spaghetti, carbonara, and broccoli/meat short pasta(forgot name). Their dessert is also amazing. We had Cannoli and Chocolate mousse which are fantastic. One thing, there is only one restroom!
We came on a Saturday night and were pleasantly surprised, no wait time at all. The food was excellent, with that classic coal oven flavor that makes the pizza stand out from the rest. To make the evening even better, there was live piano and cello music playing in the background, which gave the place a warm, lively, and unique atmosphere. Great food, great vibes, and a truly memorable night. Highly recommend!
Arturo’s Coal Oven Pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re looking for a quintessential New York pizza experience, this place is a must-visit! From the moment you walk through the door on Houston Street, you feel the charm of a classic Manhattan pizza joint with real personality and a warm, inviting vibe. The coal-oven pizza is absolutely fantastic — beautifully crisp thin crust, perfectly balanced sauce, and just the right amount of cheese make every bite memorable. Plenty of locals and visitors rave about how well the pizza holds its own among NYC’s legendary pies. The ambiance is cozy and old-school, giving a nod to the storied history of this spot that’s been serving Italian-American favorites since 1957. Whether you’re seated inside soaking up the lively buzz or enjoying a slice with friends, the energy here is unbeatable. The friendly staff adds to the experience, making you feel genuinely welcomed like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. Beyond the pizza, you’ll find classic Italian appetizers and dishes that round out a perfect meal, but honestly, the star here is the coal-oven pie. I can’t recommend it enough for anyone craving authentic NYC pizza with character, flavor, and that unmistakable coal-oven crisp. 🍕 unforgettable pizza, great vibe, and true New York charm
We had the most incredible birthday party for my Dad at Arturo’s. From the food (amazing pizza!), service and music, we were all so pleased. Thanks to Carol who took care of everything!
WOW!!! We chose Arturo’s after seeing it recommended in a Reddit thread as one of the best Italian spots in Manhattan, and the moment we saw there was live jazz, we knew we had to come. We are sooooo glad we did! From the second we arrived, we felt taken care of. Our waitress suggested we grab a drink at the bar while our table was being prepared, which turned out to be the best decision of the night. Rob was the bartender — singing into the microphone and interacting with the entire restaurant as soon as we sat down. He made us and every single person we saw feel at home. I never sit at the bar, but the vibe here was unreal. We felt so comfortable that we didn’t even want our table and ended up staying at the bar the whole time. Rob asked our names once and remembered them all night. His level of genuine customer service made the experience even more special. We ordered espresso martinis and a cherry coke styled cocktail and it was perfection. The jazz music was perfect and set the mood for the whole night. The musicians were extremely talented and sounded amazing. It added such a classic, warm vibe to the experience. We asked Rob for his recommendations, and based on our preferences, we started with the margherita pizza with soppressata, which was absolutely perfect. For our mains, we had the chicken Francese, and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a pasta dish that good. When Rob wasn’t singing or making sure our waters were always topped up, he brought us fresh baked bread to soak up the remaining pasta sauce — omgggg, it was soooo good. This place delivered a truly perfect experience — the kind of dining experience you rarely ever get. We’re sad we won’t be able to come back until our next NYC visit, but it just gives us something to look forward to even more. We can’t wait to return to Arturo’s on our next trip! 😊 Atmosphere: AAA Service: AAA Food: AAA Music: AAA Drinks: AAA
Wonderful vibe in this place. The pizza was absolutely fabulous. We had the margarita … baked to perfection, wonderful sauce - thin crust. Live jazz added a wonderful touch to a great night.
We had an excellent meal at Arturo’s Coal Oven Pizza. The pizzas were much larger than we expected and absolutely delicious. The pasta was outstanding as well, everyone at the table couldn’t stop talking about the carbonara, with one person saying it was even better than what they’d had in Italy. A fantastic spot with great food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
We hosted our wedding welcome dinner at Arturo’s, and it was absolutely fantastic! We had about 16 people and were given a cozy private room off to the side, which made the evening feel intimate and special. Carol was wonderful to work with — so accommodating, warm, and attentive — and the entire staff made us and our families feel right at home. The food was delicious (everyone was raving about it!), and the atmosphere was perfect — lively, welcoming, and full of energy, especially with the live jazz in the background. It truly set the tone for the rest of our wedding weekend. We love Arturo’s and can’t wait to keep coming back for pizza in the future — but I’d also highly recommend it for any private events. It was the perfect start to our celebration!
There is a reason this cozy restaurant has been around since 1957! I had been wanting to go here for a few years and finally had the chance! It was worth the wait! Your bread and pizza were perfectly done! The riceballs (arancini) were delicious as well! Thank you for such a great experience!
This was a recommendation from a local while we were visiting NYC for the first time. INCREDIBLE!! Is the only way it can be described. The food was amazing. The chicken cacciatore was to die for, just like grampas home cooking. The pizza was delicious. Nothing we ordered disappointed. This place is a definite must try if in NY.
Our reviews had over 37 million views last year. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really love Arturo's. We love coal oven pizza because it cooks at a temp higher than wood oven pizza. This makes the crust very dry and very thin which makes it taste great with a good sauce and cheeses. Pizzas are big and yummy. Meatballs are great and so was the pasta. Great place, fast and easy to get a table most times. Make a reservation to be sure. Weekends and some weekdays they have a person playing piano which is nice. The back room is quieter if you want that but we like the noise. Check out all of our reviews. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. Follow us if you like. We had over 36 million views so far this year and we thank you for that. Walking around Manhattan and stumbled across Arturo's at 9:45 on a Thursday night. Walked in and figured there wasn't going to be any room but I was pleasantly surprised that a booth was open. Sam our server was a ball of positivity!! I asked her what her go to was and ordered it up. Pepperoni pizza, and penne with vodka sauce. We had the booth that was closest to the band, and the kitchen where I could watch my pizza being tossed into one of the remaining coal fired ovens in NYC!!! Read that again One of the LAST coal fired pizza ovens!!! This right here made my heart flutter, I shed a tiny tear in awe of this oven. I knew this flavor was going to be unlike any other I have ever had in the city. I got my pasta first. This enormous bowl of carb happiness was just the tip of the iceberg. After the first bite I immediately tried to figure out how I could funnel this entire bowl into my face hole. Yes it was that delicious!! About 5 minutes had passed of me shoveling this delicious bowl of carbohydrates and delicious vodka sauce when my pepperoni pizza came out of the coal-fired oven. This pizza was a thing of beauty. If Mona Lisa had a paint brush, she would paint this pizza and hang it on her wall. When Sam came back over to the table and asked if I liked everything I couldn't even speak. I just looked up at her with my tiny tear on my cheek and she knew. Oh yeah she knew. Thank you to everyone at Arturo's you are a staple. You are a landmark. You are the pinnacle of Mount Pizza with that coal-fired oven and that deliciousness. And thank you very much for your hospitality.
Cozy location and great vibes. We sat down and about 15 later a piano player arrived to give live music! The service was great as well and we got 2 pizza's with both being wonderful. Fun part was the restroom which this place must have been a residence at some point as there was a full bathtub/showed in the restroom. hahahahaha gave us a chuckle. Loved the chalk board to leave messages.
We had a group of 7. Otto was our server, very patient and efficient. Food was delish— we had hot antipasto, calamari, salad and clams for app. Dinners were naked calamari sautéed in fra Diablo marinara, lasagna with side hot sausage, bolognese and a pasta with artichoke special and drinks. Oh and pizza. It’s always fun and always tasty.
We stumbled upon this place by accident. The pizza was actually pretty good. The mussels was actually very yummy! The ambiance was neat. The live music was a great touch. I would have given a full star but the waiter was a bit grumpy that day. Served the food but basically disappeared. You could tell he definitely wasn’t happy to be there. Come here for the food not the service. The music is in the front of the restaurant so arrive early to get a spot.
Arturo’s has always been our go-to pizza spot. My husband and I love the food, the atmosphere, and have never had any issues, until last Friday, when I brought my family to dine in with me. We arrived around 5:40pm, and the restaurant was empty. When I asked for a table for four, the manager immediately asked if we could leave by 8pm, telling me we had a two-hour limit. I agreed, since we had no intention of staying that long. While the food and friendliness were great as always, the experience quickly felt rushed. Around 6:30pm, while we were still eating and drinking wine, with pizza still on the serving tray, a server came by asking if we were finished and if he could clear the table. He even offered a box, clearly trying to move us along. I’ve since noticed this seems to happen whenever I come with a larger group, but never when it’s just me and my husband. That difference in treatment was disappointing.
The pizza was pretty good. I liked the sausage and mushrooms. Was not a fan of the anchovy. Broccoli rabe is a surprisingly good topping. Clams with seafood stuffing was nice but lacked salt. Wines by the glass was fine. Service was nice and fast; attentive. Space is a bit small. Enjoyed the live music, adding to the atmosphere.
Person who took our order was extremely rude, I am pretty sure it was the owner. Table next to us got a completely different interaction. He was extremely happy and excited to see them, nice friendly whatever it may be. To us he was cold inappropriate and not OK. Pizza came out and eashot. It seemed like it was waiting for a 10 minutes to get to our table. He dropped off her drinks didn’t say another word. He asked if we needed some water after zero drinks were consumed, insinuating we were intoxicated. Will not be coming back here too overpriced to be here.
