We were looking for a new Thai place to try, stumbled upon this one. Delicious food and service. We went for lunch. We had pineapple fried rice, pad see ew and some north eastern chicken ( not in the picture, they have special items of this style on the last page of the menu) We tried Thai chicken wings too. I really liked pad see ew my husband loved the chicken! They have little patio seating, good idea for dinner too. We will visit again!
Have driven by this place near the corner of Brittan and El Camino many times. Ordered takeout. Red curry with pumpkin was my favorite. Fresh rolls are very fresh and delicious with the peanut sauce. Haven't sat there but the recently added outdoor seating is attractive and spacious.
Chance happening on this place, food is really tasty. They say they have 5 levels of heat so I was really happy to order the 4 and 5 heat on my dishes. Well, not quite as hot as I would like but the spice they used I have not tasted before. Really love the spice and my bf agreed that this is our new go-toThai place.
Very authentic (northern) Isaan food! You've got lots of the staples and they're done well. There's some items that are a twist on a classic like the soured pork meatballs. Service was good, though a bit understaffed. The mango sticky rice was the closest a Thai restaurant in America has come to the stuff in the homeland! Really enjoyed our meal here, definitely coming back!
This place was the best Thai food I've had in my life. I asked the waiter for a recommendation and he let me order an off-menu grilled pork (not sure how it differs from their regular menu grilled pork), but it was INSANELY good. I don't think I've ever had pork as juicy/flavorful. The other items were also super fresh and tasty. Service was also great and our food came out super quick.
The food was amazing!!! The mixed seafood was extremely delicious and every dish was made with a lot of thought and flavor. The papaya salad was satisfying. We asked for very spicy and did not disappoint. The service was friendly and timely. Overall a wonderful dining experience. Hope they continue to do well!
Bought some take out for dinner. Customer Service is great! 1st time, Just passing by looking for a diff kind of flavor. The food is delicious. The flavor subtly explode in your mouth. I ordered medium spicy so its not less or too spicy with teenage kids and it works out well. Definitely coming back again.
I’ve came here to eat twice, once at lunch and once during dinner. I really enjoyed both meals here and everything ordered tasted very good. It’s also reasonably priced and good portion size, the only downside is the service can be a bit slow (we somehow got our food before water). Some of my fav are the pork jowl, sour pork fried rice, and mango sticky rice
This is a great spot I discovered while looking for thai food. Ambience is cozy and staff is friendly. Top dishes I would recommend Roti appetizer with green curry as dipping sauce Red curry We also ordered Pineapple fried rice Thai basil fried rice Chicken tom yum soup - huge bowl good for 2 people Crab rangoon - there could have been more filling in this fried wonton it was more dough than filing Tofu rolls All these dishes were well prepared and can be easily converted into vegetarian options which is a plus. Rice and curry and good proportions for two people.
This is Authentic Thai food! Love the all the foods that they have and created. They look beautiful and yummy in the same time. I wish we have some things like this close to my house so if yes I would love to come here everyday! The service is so good. The servers were nice to us give us some good recommendations so I would say this is my favorite new spot. Definitely be back for sure.
Very authentic and strong flavors in all the dishes we ordered. Nam Khao, Papaya Salad, and Pad See Ew were all incredible and you'll taste such a variety of flavors with every bite. The inside was cute and had a lot of decor to make it seem more traditional so that was nice. Service was prompt and everything went well :) I'd totally come here again and maybe order some other stuff. Food: 8/10 Service: 7/10 Vibes: 7/10 Value: 6/10
Fantastic food! The Tom yum was on point, crab fried rice was out of this world. Really warm ambience too. We will come back. 5 stars!
Food quality is great and lunch quantity was more than enough. Price is surprisingly much lower compared with other Thai places and food quality and preparation is much better. Rice and salad and everything was included in 15$ lunch.
Anything less than 5 stars wouldn’t make this place justice. It is ABSOLUTELY amazing. I can’t believe this was just our first time here. We ordered the following: - Dumplings with red curry - Crab fried rice - Duck soup - Kaor Moo Yang Everything was AMAZING and delicious. Even something as “simple” as a fried rice had an amazing taste. Prices are more than reasonable and it was very quick! Everything we tried is super recommended but the soup and kaor moo yang are very unique! Congratulations and we will definitely be back.
SUCH good food!! I'm a huge fan of Isarn Garden, here are my favorites: pad broccoli, red curry, pad see ew, pad thai, green papaya salad, tom yum soup, and the curry dumplings. Their food is to die for, so good. The vibe is pretty cute, and the staff was all very kind. I usually do takeout, but eating there is also fun!
I’ve been to Isarn Garden twice now—one with my brother and another with a friend. Absolutely tasty food. This Thai restaurant is a find! 100% recommend trying out this place for yourself. I would come back here again to dine-in. I have no dietary restrictions while my friend who came here with me only consumes seafood for meat and he still had a great time here. My most recent experience: • Drink: For coffee lovers out there, 100% recommend getting the Thai iced coffee. It’s strong but also a nice sweet, cool treat. • Appetizer: - Roti and Green Curry: friend and I were blown away with how the curry packed a punch with flavor. Subtle creamy coconut with Thai green pepper and other spices. Roti had an amazing crunch with how flat and crispy it was. - I love getting cucumber salads from Thai restaurants and this is no exception. The pickling juice has a nice sweet, vinegar taste that the veggies absorb. Cucumbers have a nice textural crunch. Carrots and red onions give more color and flavor to the salad. The crushed peanuts add that nutty flavor to complement how refreshing the salad is. • Main dish: I got the Gaeng Om soup. I wanted to try something new and it’s a different flavor profile that I am used to but it was still good! Light-feeling broth with a lemon grass, galangal acid and spice to it. Soup has tons of veggies in it as well to give it a hearty feel to it. It is spicy so beware if you don’t like spicy food! I love spicy food and it did make me sweat a bit after eating the soup for a while. The soup comes in an earthenware pot that I feel like has 4 servings to it. My friend got the yellow curry and he devoured it down with the complementary bowl of rice. I tried a bit of the curry and it is more subtle and mild to the green curry’s flavor. • For dessert: http I definitely recommend the mango sticky rice. It’s a great way to end the meal with something light with a chewy texture and light, creamy milk to top it off.
Cute little spot with delicious food. Pad Thai with tofu and no eggs was flavorful and not missing anything, and the pumpkin curry was delightful (forgot to take a picture). They also have fresh coconut water in an actual coconut which I enjoyed. Food can be spicy so clarify the level of sensitive. We’ll come back for pumpkin curry again and some mango sticky rice, generous portions!
Adorable place right off El Camino with its own parking lot (high plus!) Great service, beautiful interior and delicious food. We came here for lunch on a weekday, and it wasn't crowded, so I'm not sure how crowded it gets for dinner or on the weekends.
Stumbled upon one of the best Thai restaurants in Silicon Valley that we plan to return in the future! Though the ambience may be a bit less than other Thai places, the food itself was great with well balanced and integrated flavor and taste. Not one of the dishes we ordered (Tom Yum soup, spring rolls, Papaya salad, Pet Kee Mao, Eggplant, Seafood Combo, and Mango-Sticky rice dessert) were disappointing in any way to all four of us, especially me! Price was reasonable also. Next time, we'll try a bit more exotic (Laotian and specials) choices.
Great new location with delicious food! We decide to try Isarn Garden for takeout as was blown away by the quality of every dish. The flavors were unique and was reasonably priced. We loved the food so much that we decided to each there as well. They had indoor dining available and the tables were we'll spaced apart. The staff was extremely friendly and helped pick the meals. We were again in love with all the spices and flavors that ever dish had to offer. Highly recommend this new and amazing Thai restaurant!
Isarn screams value. Home-style Thai cooking at a super low price point. What more would you possibly want? Yes, the restaurant feels a bit dated and jaded. Yes, this ain't your "impress your date" type of location. What Isarn is is your local go-to Thai restaurant that serves mouth-watering Thai comfort food in a non-gaudy, flavor-first way at an extremely reasonable, and I'd say even cheap, price. I am so happy to have discovered Isarn in San Carlos and the Peninsula. I really don't think there's another option that matches this much value and joy of dining Thai in the Peninsual, let alone the Bay Area. Yes, there are more fancier and opulent places but of course at a different price point. The roti with green curry was awesoe. The chicken satays were succulent and juicy. Pad Thai came out a bit too sweet but you can feel the family love. And the Tom Kha soup was wonderful. Isarn is a local secret. If you're in the Peninsula and need a hearty meal that puts a smile on your face, this is it. Will absolutely frequent.
Very good Thai food, cute place, and friendly staff! The flavors are authentic; had the Tom Yum soup and grilled pork - loved the spicy sauce. Pineapple fried rice was great too. Great ambiance with a polished/upscale feel, and the food is still cheap. The staff members are real kind and friendly. Great spot for a date!
Loved it! My new go-to place. Get the specials. Everything we ordered was amazing. The fried fish was the bomb! I was literally very happy when I walked out of there. Here is what we got. Chicken red curry, chicken priking, sausage special, fried fish, spring rolls, chicken skewers, and mango with sticky rice! One of the top Thai places I have been to. I hope they keep the food quality consistent! The decor is cute too! Must go! (And keep going) 😁
Looking for Thai street food? Here you go! I have been to many Thai restaurants in this area, Isarn Garden is one the best, especially Thai Northeastern foods are their specialty. Our dinner, we started with prawn in the blanket follow with PadThai which is the best, then Som Tum or papaya salad and Kor Moo Yang/ Pork Shoulder grilled. For desert for sure we have mango with sticky rice. All is yum, can’t complain. Even more if you had ผัดกะเพราหมูสับไข่ดาว / fried mince pork with basil and fried eggs on side in Thailand and you prefer to have it here so just let them know, they would provide it for you. Furthermore staff are friendly and the place is very clean.

The spring rolls were amazing.. perfectly crisp on the outside and fresh inside. The basil fried rice was incredibly flavorful and well-balanced. It had just the right amount of seasoning without feeling heavy. The portion size was generous, and the basic fried rice was enough for two people
I could eat here every other day and be perfectly happy for several years. The food is super fresh and delicious, and you can order it at every spice level. Don’t miss the papaya salad, the spring rolls, and the curries. I’ve had every single kind of curry, and they’re all excellent. But my absolute favorite is the eggplant, holy basil, and fried tofu – extra spicy. A fiesta for your mouth! And don’t forget a side of green beans for the party.
Came here for a work meeting and loved it! Pad See Ew with tofu was very tasty as were the crispy egg roll appetizers. Unfortunately no photos because we were too busy eating 😅

This place is not the easiest to find and park at. I had plans to meet up here with a couple of friends, and each of us got lost on the way. This place is tucked away in a small lot, so we all ended up getting rerouted and circled the block before either parking in the small lot, which only fits a few cars, or on the street nearby. Despite the small size of the lot and restaurant, there was a bit of a wait, as this place was packed for dinner on the weekend. I order my usual at Thai restaurants: eggplant with crispy tofu. The fried tofu was nicely spongy, so it absorbed a lot of flavour and the eggplant was juicy and not overcooked. The dish didn't come with rice, which is typical at about half of the Thai restaurants I've been to, and I was okay without it since I wasn't super hungry. The portion was kind of small, and if I'd been hungrier, I would've needed to order more food to get full, but since I wasn't too hungry, it worked out.
Picked this place since they seem to not have a large google presence but the location itself is quite nice with lots of seating indoors, parking right next to the restaurant is fantastic as well although it’s a bit hard to notice at first glance. Ordered a Thai papaya salad and pad Thai. The Thai papaya salad was good with nice amounts of papaya but I was looking for a bit more complex flavor profile as well as a bit more spice. The pad Thai was very clean and modern but once again a little one dimensional on flavor, would have appreciated some bolder sweet, sour, and spicy notes. Staff was friendly and the pickup experience was super quick and easy.
Don't order from outside or they will forget about you. The menu has some good additions. The phone order system from outside doesn't seem to work. I agree with the great score everyone has given this place. The food is great. The patio dinning makes for a fun place to eat. Service is very good. Food style gives you a taste of some variation in the Thai culture.
I’m between 3-4 stars because of the cost to food portions. The food is very tasty and service was nice. Loved the soup. This food portions is definitely smaller than I am used to. Small bowl of soup was $8 for one person. If I hadn’t had the soup there’s no way I would be satisfied with main dish. Just ordering the large soup is a meal in itself and costs more than main entrees. Maybe your party should order different things so everyone can share. If you are not ready for spicy don’t go beyond medium. Very tasty just not worth the price we paid.
The staff is really nice. Our appetizers were good, chicken satay and papaya salad. But, I do not recommend their tom kha. It did not taste like tom kha. It did not have the flavors of lemongrass, fish sauce, or coconut milk. 😞
Isarn is a charming family-run restaurant located in San Carlos, California, known for its authentic Northeastern Thai (Isan) and Laotian cuisine. The interior exudes a cozy, traditional Thai ambiance, which I found quite appealing. Although it was my first visit, despite the restaurant having been established for some time, I was invited for lunch, and we found the place pleasantly half full. The menu offers an extensive selection of dishes, and we decided to try the Som Tum, Pad Kee Mao, Fresh Rolls Shrimp, and Spicy Grilled Pork Salad. Impressively, the food was served promptly, and we enjoyed a delightful lunch. I particularly like the Fresh Rolls Shrimp and Pad Kee Mao, both of which were delicious. The Som Tum was fresh and balanced in flavor, not too overpowering. The Spicy Grilled Pork, while slightly dry, was still quite good. The service was commendable; our server was friendly and attentive. Parking is conveniently available both on the side of the restaurant and on the street.
It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and we went for lunch close to their closing time. Despite that, the staff was welcoming and managed to accommodate and serve everyone without any issues. We ordered several dishes, most of which were delicious except the pineapple fried rice, which was a bit bland and lacked salt. Hopefully, that can be improved. Everything else — including the service, food quality, and overall taste — was excellent. I’d recommend this place and would return when in the area.
I had lunch here on a weekday. I was seated immediately. This is a paper napkin place with table service and a lunch specials menu. My lunch came in a timely manner. They get extra points for a lunch that had rice, vegetable and pork red curry and a large green salad. It so great to get a well balanced meal. The salad was crisp and fresh and had an excellent selection of lettuce, spinach, carrot etc. the red rice was nutty and flavorful. The red curry had enough heat to remind you it’s Thai (then menus had a red chili symbol) yet moderate enough to not burn.
Our new favorite Thai restaurant on the peninsula! Very authentic especially when your Thai friend highly recommends it. We enjoyed 7 authentic dishes: Spicy Blue crab papaya salad Chicken fried rice Tom yum soup with pork Deep fried larb balls Fish salad Char siu pork belly Yellow curry with pork Mango with sticky rice Sweet roti Everything was delicious and some were very spicy but all very reasonably priced. They also have 2 draft beers. Service was very friendly and attentive. Nicely decorated indoors. Small parking lot with tight spaces and 1 disabled spot.
Service is lacking, they were too busy dealing with all the DoorDash drivers to seat us, when they finally did we were just told to sit anywhere and scan a qr code to order. You have to tip before getting your food. Beyond that, great spot. Pad Se Ew was the best I’ve ever had in terms of seafood quantity and quality, but had very few noodles which was disappointing. Patio is small but pretty. They also sell some Thai snacks like Seaweed Lays.
Great Thai restaurant tucked away in San Carlos. Loved the crispy egg rolls and the grilled rib eye. The Pad Thai was also very tasty. Yellow curry chicken was good, but potatoes could cook a little longer. The mango sticky rice was a big hit for dessert - was able to get one bite before our son inhaled it all. The restaurant is right next to Jiffy Lube, and the parking lot is small but there is parking on Laurel Street.

Food was great. There were 3 servers 1 sat me with no greetings except “ 1 minute to be seated”. After being sat in a table with maybe 2 ft between tables. I waited longer than expected as the servers were walking past me before one came to take my order. Brought my food and water, never said one word. I called out a few times as the servers walked by to get my bill. They never made eye contact until finally someone looked over and I raised my hand to get the bill. I was hoping for my water to be refilled halfway through my meal, but no luck. She brought my bill and never said a word. I walked out with no thank you nothing. It definitely was not busy. I as extremely disappointed as I wanted to eat there more often, but I felt uncomfortable because they ignored me. I wish their take out containers were not black plastic or I’d just pick up the food. Terrible service
The mango with the Mango and coconut Sticky had mold all over side facing down like it was meant to be hidden. The pad kee mao was 70% veggie. Not enough noodles or tofu. It also had an odd oil/char flavor. The pumpkin curry does not come with rice like it is traditionally always served with. But besides that is good.
