King Chuan

King Chuan is hands-down our favorite restaurant in and around San Carlos. The service is always friendly, prompt, and professional. Aunt Susan always wears a smile and treats guests like family. Most important - the food is DELICIOUS. It is apparent that they use quality ingredients and everything is made fresh. I love their Authentic Pot Stickers, their Stir-fried Wontons in Hot and Spicy Sauce (YUM!), and my absolute favorite is their basic Won Ton Soup which is always comforting and nourishing. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We are so lucky to have this gem in San Carlos!

We have enjoyed King Chuan in San Carlos for almost twenty years. Susan and her staff are always attentive and the food is excellent. Favorites include Hunan Chicken, authentic pot stickers, and han gen chicken.

My brother and I were both super happy with the food here. We got takeout but the place looked nice so I’d come back to dine-in too. The Mapodofu and Grandmother’s fried rice were great.

We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at King Chuan. Too bad we were just visiting - this would definitely be a regular spot for us if we lived in Belmont/San Carlos. The egg rolls, kung pao tofu, and sautéed asparagus plus the hot and sour soup were delicious. And service was very friendly and attentive.

Favorite dishes are Wonton Soup and Fried Rice, because it’s fresh, only dish I can eat with broccoli. Service is good, enough waiters and waitresses that take care of our needs.

All food was very tasty, especially walnut shrimps

We love this place!! We come here often and have always received the best customer service and best Chinese food! We usually get the Mongolian Beef and Honey Shrimp. Susan (the owner) is such a delight!

This place is so nice! The owner is quite friendly and welcoming to everyone, and it creates a really positive atmosphere. Food is delicious too, not too greasy!

Really enjoyed dinner service at this restaurant. Trying to support local restaurants during this challenging 2020 year. Staff did a great job with masks and cleaning between patrons. The quality and authenticity of the dishes were just right. A more accurate rating is probably 4.5 stars. I really enjoy their interpretation of the mapo tofu and Singapore noodles. The dishes were simple and classic. Overall a very nice experience.

We used King Chuan to cater a large event this weekend, and everything was fantastic! I worked with the manager Susan, and she was available and helpful every step of the way. We had a lot of people to feed (nearly 200!) and she offered great suggestions for dishes and the amount of food we should order. They even accommodated a last-minute request morning of. They delivered on time, with plenty of sauces and even to-go boxes in case we needed them. Tons of delicious food, great service and an all around good experience. We would definitely use them again in the future.

The owner Susan makes everyone feel welcome . The staff is very friendly and very nice to small children. I really enjoy having lunch here . Everything I have ordered here has been excellent. This is about the only restaurant in San Carlos that is open on Christmas!

Delicious food and excellent customer service! Would definitely come back here again! We had the lunch menu sweet and sour pork, and the beef with snow peas—comes with soup, rice, and an egg roll. My beef fell apart it was so tender, and my boyfriends sweet and sour pork was also extremely tender. Haven’t had this amazing of oriental food in a LONG time. The server recommended their Sesame Beef, which I will be definitely checking out next time we come back. Amazing job!

Me and my family were visiting in town from Orlando,FL and wanted some good food and luckily we found it here. We ordered so much and all of it was FANTASTIC. The service and hospitality was amazing and everything tasted authentic. I highly recommend this place if you are in town, you won’t regret it!!

Staff is friendly and informative. The owner Susan is welcoming and her enthusiasm for life and her clients is endearing. This was our first time but certainly not our last maybe have to go again this week 😁 Happy family, smoked pork with leeks and Westlake soup and another Westlake soup to go for mom. My husband is asking me why I never introduced him to this soup😆 Even the menu has helpful and delicious alternatives to the usual fare. This has become one of our go to places. Sautéed happy family is now one of our comfort foods❤️

Found this place while looking for a place to eat dinner on a Sunday night while visiting from out of town. Cute restaurant. Very tasty and good food. Hot tea was very good too. Waitress lady was a bit rushed and not very warm and friendly. The waiters were very nice. I had the lemon chicken and chicken fried rice. My other table guests had tofu beef and the beef special posted on the chalkboard out front. All food was very good. I will come back here again. I hope the waitress won't be rushed and hopefully a bit friendlier. You should check this place out.

Ordered : Creamy Egg Noodle Soup : 3/5 Shitaki Mushrooms with Braised Tofu : 3/5 Will order again : 3/5 , No. Was a decent place to try in our search for our new favorite chinese restaurant, but nothing special for us to make us come back again. Food is sort of ok, not very flavorful and we had to add to the flavor via the use of salt, soy sauce & chili.

It's okay. Food was hot, service was quick, I have no complaints. It didn't wow me, but it's a warm spot to take in a hot meal. Parking was a bit challenging but it is easy to find. It's in a great location.

In 2022 they charged $13 for fried rice and chow mein. Then increased to $15... ok I get it, inflation and all. But now it's $18, and that might be too much for rice and noodles. Our bill for our usual order was $55 in 2022, now it's $78. Again I get it, inflation, tariffs, etc. I don't think it's greed, I think they're just trying to survive. But so are we. And as a result, we'll be spending $78 once a month or so rather than $100 to $150 per month over multiple visits. Again, amazing food, but they have priced us out of being regulars.

Terrible food with high prices, less food for each selection, no sake, no service. Learn to make traditional fried rice not the slop I was served yesterday.

While it's pretty good Chinese food, they've recently raised priced substantially without any change in the food quality and with a decrease in some portion sizes. I understand that restaurants are struggling with the pandemic. But I don't agree that the same order should suddenly $10 more. That's a a big increase. I still like it and will order occasionally. But the increased price will have me turning to other restaurants far more often. I'm disappointed.
