Service was good. Pizza was great.
This is a delightful little place off Del Mar in San Clemente. The food is always delicious and everyone is friendly. We have been there with two to twenty and it’s always consistently good.
The creamy pink sauce in their Cravings Mama Mia pasta dish is delicious, and with all the chicken, sun dried tomatoes and artichokes in it, is quite filling. Also love the spicy vodka sauce in their Seafood Pasta dish, which is loaded with scallops, yum! Prices are very reasonable. Excellent service, even though we came near closing time.
We ordered take-out, just some mozzarella sticks and a pizza. The mozzarella sticks were mediocre, tasted like old store-bought stuff. The pizza, however, was delicious! New York style, and absolutely spot-on! Very good crust, sauce, everything. Highly recommend this joint.
It surprised me how good it is. Their marinara sauce is very good, rich in spice. I had the spaghetti and sausage with an order of garlic bread. I poured the side of marinara from the garlic bread on my pasta, added red pepper and it was awesome. I will be back soon!
Their personal pizza is the perfect size for 2, if you just want to satisfy that "craving"! Have never been disappointed with anything we've ordered. Staff is very friendly and dress is casual. My kind of place!!!♡♡♡
Rarely do I find an Italian place that the food impresses me but this little gem did that. Right of the San Clemente main strip by about 1/2 a block it was a place I've never been to. I ordered to Spinach Raviolis with a side order of Meat Balls. Simply delicious. And reasonably priced! Will definitely return.
The food is fantastic. It is a small place which creates more of a romantic setting. My girlfriend and I came here for our first date and have gone back ever since. Highly recommended. And the cost is great too. About $15 a plate. Can't beat it.
Staff is courteous and attentive. Food is wonderful. Prices are better than we expected. The Naptune pasta has plenty of shrimp and scallops. The Capellini alla Checca is full of flavor. Portions were ample.
Pizza was exceptional. Customer service was amazing. Food was fresh and came out fast. Didn’t wait very long at all. I would recommend this place to every and anyone. We plan on grabbing another pie in the near future. Thanks
My friends & I showed up at 8:45 on a Tuesday evening to a pretty empty place, figured they would tell us they’re closed since the closing time was coming up. Instead, Tony sat us & provided the best service & we had the best food. Highly recommend!
The food was exceptional! It wasn't too busy and our server was attentive.
Saw this on our way down to walk along the beach. Decided to stop in on the way back and were not disappointed. Hubby & I shared a ground beef & mushroom pizza and Peroni. Just off Del Mar, atmosphere was nice, service was friendly, the beer was ice cold, and the pizza was delicious. My husband said it was the best he's had in a few years. We'll be back again for sure.
Fed 6 people for under $75. Food was great. Ordered to go, was ready on time. They made sure we had everything we needed utensils, plates, cheese, etc. Cheese cake could of been bigger. Priced good. Coming from out of town, you always question new places. Made the right choice here.
We visited San Clemente a couple of weeks ago from Jurupa Valley on a whim. We just drove down to have dinner here again. Love the food here.
Dishes were full of flavor. We are definitely coming back.
Enjoyed the food and service immensely! Highly recommended, especially for the price. My family had four different dishes and all of them were delicious.
Went in for Valentine’s Day lunch. We were very pleased from the time we walked up- the aromas coming from the open kitchen invited us inside. There are 10 or so lunch specials to choose from at $12.95 plus salad or soup. The sauce tastes like the East Coast. Perfect location next to a plant nursery, bakery and other shops.
We had lunch at Italian Cravings and were completely blown away. As someone who needs gluten-free options, finding a place that makes it taste this good is incredible. I had the gluten-free pasta with clams, and it was one of the best I've ever had – truly divine. On top of the amazing food, the staff is just wonderful. Everyone was so kind and made us feel right at home. It was so good that we couldn't resist coming back for dinner the next night! This is our new favorite spot.
Recently returned from Italy, this place hit the mark!!! EVERYTHING was absolutely DELISH!! The bruscetta, PERFECT. The lobster ravioli, PHENOMENAL ...everything we tried was top notch! We also had pizzas, chicken fettuccine, the original spaghetti all so yummy!! This place is a smaller restaurant, 3 large booths & long tables for family gatherings or can be made into smaller groupings, has a parking lot in addition to lots of street parking (a huge deal in this area) Family owned & a new favorite of ours. We will ALWAYS come back to this spot now for our Italian cravings fixes!! ✨️
Vegetarian spot ; This was the first time visiting this charming Italian restaurant after living in San Clemente for several months. Nestled in the heart of town, it’s a small eatery with a convenient parking lot. We visited on a Sunday afternoon, enjoying a quiet meal as we had the restaurant to ourselves. The food arrived promptly—within about 20 minutes—and it was delicious, especially considering the reasonable prices. We ordered a Cheese Garlic Bread, Greek Salad, with 2 large pizzas, which was pretty good for 5-6 people. Service was attentive; everything we ordered was brought out correctly, and the refillable drinks were a nice touch. The atmosphere added to the experience, with soothing instrumental music playing softly in the background. Just as we were leaving, the place started to fill up, which shows its popularity. Overall, it was a delightful meal with great service and a welcoming vibe. Definitely looking forward to coming back again!
Some of the best Italian I've had in awhile! Kids got the cheese pizza..very good! Husband and I started with clam chowder and the kids stole our bread and requested a second basket, almost like toasted sticks...perfect for dipping. We ordered the seafood pasta and the Cravings Mama Mia...both were delicious but the Cravings Mama Mia.....the sauce was just perfect. Both highly recommend. Service was outstanding.
I've been to this place a few times and my wife and I really like it. We've ordered a few pizzas and both were better than average. A lot of toppings and everything tasted fresh. The dough tasted fresh too. I've been to a few Italian restaurants in San Clemente and I like this place the best. I also have tried the lasagna and trio appetizer and both were pretty good too. We had a great waitress and service too.
Really liked this place. They have outdoor seating. Pasta was very good. Decently priced items. Waiter was very nice. They accommodated our specific order requests. Loved the music playing. Really minded me of Italy. They have parking. I would definitely come back here.
The flavors of the lasagna and the clam linguini with white wine sauce is sooooo good. My boyfriend and I did not have high expectations for this place. We figured it would be your average Italian spot. We were blown away by every dish we ordered including the garlic bread sticks. Their clam linguini had so much clam in it, cut up pieces and whole clams. It tasted so fresh. I normally see one or the other. The pasta here is so nice and soft when biting into. There are bits of red onion, something I don’t normally see in this dish, but the flavors all blended well. My plate came out steaming hot and everything just tasted super fresh. Even the garlic bread is not your typical garlic bread. When it came out my BF knew it was going to be good. Sure enough it did not disappoint. We would come back here because the food is so good.
We come here, instead of Sony's. We keep coming back. Don't know why this place is not busy. Love the clam lujnguini, husband loves the seafood pasta and bruschetta
Very nice people. Place could be a little cleaner…the crushed pepper container was sticky. Good food for a good price.

We stopped in at the beginning of our vacation in San Clemente and kept coming back because the for was so good. I ordered something different each time and loved everything. The staff are kind and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely. Whether it's pasta or pizza you crave, you can't go wrong with this restaurant.
Ate here twice while on vacation. Excellent food and service. Wish we had one where I live.
We've been coming to this little Italian gem since 2013, and it’s truly become a part of our family’s story. The food is always amazing — rich, comforting, and full of flavor, just like you’d hope for from a real Italian kitchen. But what makes it even more special is the heart behind it. Years ago, the owner generously gave our eldest a part-time job while he was attending college. That simple act of kindness meant so much to us and helped shape a big chapter in our lives. It's rare to find a place that feeds both your stomach and your soul. Still our go-to spot after all these years. Grazie mille!
THE best pizza I've had. Always tasty, never a soggy crust, and the service is wonderful. I live out of state, but every time I visit, I come here for their pizza!
Italian Cravings San Clemente exceeded our expectations! This family-owned gem shines with warm hospitality, delicious Italian cuisine and cozy ambiance. The service was exceptional - friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. The menu offered varied options at reasonable prices, with generous portions. We loved the homey atmosphere, perfect for family gatherings or intimate dinners. We held 2 huge family gatherings in IC. The owner, Tony was very easy going and accommodating. Ample parking spaces added convenience. Supporting local, small businesses like Italian Cravings is a must! They bring character and heart to our community. Highly recommended.
Amazing Italian and a great price. Togo orders are ready fast if you dont want to eat in there cozy dining room. Definitely a staple in San Clemente.

Very convenient to downtown San Clemente, with good value and decent food. They also send coupons out to the locals to encourage regular visits. The pizzas are very good and the pasta dishes are okay some better than others. They have outdoor dining as well for small tables. Good dinner special including wine.
We’re in San Clemente visiting and we’re looking for a little Italian place to have dinner. We choose this place due to the good reviews and the pictures of the food and menu. I just want people to know that the menus you see in the pictures online are not up to date. They do not offer entrees such as shrimp scampi .. which is what my husband was looking forward to. We ended up ordering a small garlic chicken pizza, mozzarella sticks, side of meatballs and the capellini with added shrimp. The meatballs and mozzarella sticks are from frozen. You can taste the freezer and the mozzarella sticks had bake marks and the breading was very dry. The pizza was bla and the pasta with shrimp was lacking flavor. I’m leaving a 4 star review because I don’t believe in hurting business but I felt I had to give an updated honest opinion of the food. Then what was there when we were on the hunt. If you plan to eat out so you can experience food in a way you don’t experience it from home then try back when they hopefully revamp their menu. Otherwise it tastes like I could have thrown this together at home with some freezer items from Costco and boxed noodles and canned tomatoes, for way less money. Service was okay and the place was cute though.
Less than a block away from the San Clemente downtown avenue proper, so it's quiet and has a lot less foot traffic. There is street parking and a small dedicated parking lot available. Service was quick but our server was a little curt with us, hence the -⭐. Besides that the food was amazing! The small pizza is sharable between 2 people. Thin crispy crust with just the right amount of toppings so it isn't wildly soggy or difficult to eat. The cannoli was nice and sweet, but not too sweet. This place is definitely a hidden gem.
The house made Italian dressing is creamy delicious and the cheesy garlic bread too! The pizza was really good, but man did we love the dressing and cheesy garlic bread!
Serves very nice old world dishes. The wait staff was also very personable. It is located in a very nice spot with a trattoria like atmosphere. Makes me miss Italia.

The prices have gotten atrocious. I ordered the minestrone to go and the container was only half full.
Service: You have to be patient. When we* walked in, the place was empty so we thought service would be quick. After we got our table, it took forever for the wait staff to take our order. When the food arrived, he didn't even know who ordered what. The wait staff wasn't very friendly and seemed like he wasn't really interested in working (not sure why the owner even hired him as a server). Food: Just ok overall. Food quality was below average to average. Food taste: Mostly bland but some were alright. We ordered the Cravings Trio, Cobb Salad, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Caprese Salad, Eggplant Parmigiana, Spinach Ravioli, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Chicken Vodka. If Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares show is still on air, this restaurant would be a good candidate. *Group size: 8
Don’t expect a New York pizza. Don’t expect to get extra sides you pay for. Don’t expect napkins or forks to be included. Pizza is mediocre.
There's nothing good about this place. The food is bland. Eat frozen pizza and a bagged salad from Ralph's before wasting your time and money here. If you dine in, they treat you like a total inconvenience. You're not welcome here. But it's ok because the food is Walmart quality.
Worst pasta I had in my life. I am Italian and I know this was not meant to be a true Italian experience. But wow, the pasta with clams was disgusting! The sauce was the most horrible thing I have ever eaten in my life, it was full of random bits and tasted so acidic. Not sure how you manage to ruin what it should be such an easy dish made of very few ingredients. Focus on the quality, not the quantity. And follow the original recipe for gods sake.
Worst pizza I have ever eaten. I ordered a margarita pizza. I don’t think there was even sauce on it. I have not seen tomatoes on a margarita pie. Terrible. I would give zero stars if it would let me. My husband had pizza with pepperoni mushroom and onion. Barely any sauce, he said gross. . Looked and tasted like pre-done dough. I’m from the east so pizzas a thing but omg .. no words. One bathroom,,, it was ok.. the garbage looked like they had it twenty years. Cmon buy a new one. Just gross. Never ever will we come back. Sorry I know they work hard but wow bad!

order the minestrone soup to go and it was half full. and was basically just noodles with tomato base- not a real minestrone soup. ordered and paid $21 for the spaghetti and meatballs and it was disgusting. The meatballs you could tell were from a frozen pack and not fresh or homemade. And the sauce was basically thrown on after boiling the pasta. Super lazy and it made me sick. Will not be coming back.
