First of all you get a lot of bang for your buck. i ordered food to go and he gave me all the extra goodies that i could get. Then he sent me home with a large cup of water after i told him i have a long drive back home in a hot day. The food was also delicious. if i happen to be in the area i will go back there again.
Very reliable Mexican restaurant. Great service, friendly staff. Food is very good and reasonably priced. Not as fancy as South of Nicks but easier to get into and don't really need a reservation, and less expensive. Good for families with large menu. Very big servings, with chips and delicious salsa to start.
Go see Roxy, she is amazing and she makes an incredible margarita.
Great service!! Will definitely be frequent customers.
Our first visit here, and we had a great experience. We’re new to SC and the west coast, and to west coast Mexican cuisine. Our entire family enjoyed their food and portion sizes were generous. What really set them apart was service. Carlos and the other employees were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The best service we’ve received in SC so far.
Good for vegetarians. And also not greasy! Best authentic Mexican restaurant in town! And I’d say in Dana point and San Juan as well! First place I have been to that was authentic but not greasy. Also their beans and rice is vegetarian friendly which is really hard to find. My meat-eating family was super impressed as well. We’ve been to all the popular restaurants and weren’t really impressed. Usually super greasy or would hurt our stomachs after not sure why. But this place was great all around and totally surprised us. Also the waiter was really nice and attentive. Glad we finally gave it a try.
My family and I were looking for a place to eat before going house hunting, and while we were initially looking for ramen, we stumbled upon this and decided to support the family owned business. The waiter was absolutely fantastic, he was kind and talkative and overall you could tell he enjoyed his job. He served us chips and salsa that were so good they were almost addictive. Our food came and it was absolutely amazing, you could really tell they put all their heart and soul into making good food. Another waiter asked how we were doing, then gave us a history lesson on the origins of the center which the restaurant resided in. It was very fascinating and If you ever go there I highly recommend you ask about it! All in all, I was very pleased with the store and if you happen to be nearby, please support this buisness!
The food was amazing. The service was pretty good. Tried something new for date night and did not regret it. This place was super cute! It had a very pleasing atmosphere. There are a lot of really cute shops surrounding this restaurant as well. Really good date night spot!!
Such a cute little spot. Bomb tacos. Best customer service. Sweet team members. Our new hotspot when visiting San Clemente, FOR SURE. CHRIS AND PERU ARE THE BEST. Thank you for your hospitality!
Great place! Friendly & attentive! Food is terrific and the Owner Carlos makes things move right along and really makes you feel like a valued customer! I will be coming back for Taco Tuesday again soon! I wish I had taken pictures as the presentation was awesome! Guacamole on a bed of Cucumbers was a real treat!
What a cute gem of a restaurant. Great food, great ambiance, great service (our little one even got a Spanish lesson) and great decor in this original old San Clemente downtown area. We tried the carne asada plate combo, enchiladas, and shrimp tacos—all perfectly done. Will be back for sure.
Roxy was an amazing server. Had fun conversing and joking with her when she would come by
We were very impressed with both food and service. Carlos was so attentive and positive. The ceviche was fresh and delicious. The chicken fajitas were cooked to perfection.
This place was fantastic. Cute little inside and a great price. Food was great and proportions were more than fair for the price. We were served by the owner Carlos who made the experience even better. We just found our go to Mexican spot in San Clemente.
Visited this amazing Mexican restaurant in San Clemente while here on business. Adele the waitress was so sweet and friendly. Asked us our names and chatted with us for a little bit. Food and margaritas were awesome.. if you are in the area we highly recommend you to stop here.
Roxy’s fresh homemade tortillas were the best. Great service awesome food Staff is super attentive
great food, amazing burrito, better than I expected, Thanks to Roxy for the recommendation! super nice lady, awesome service.
Great service and great food! The esquite was my favorite
Hidden gem! We stopped at this place on the spot on our way to San Clemente beach and were blown away. Service was absolutely incredible, the server was the coolest guy ever who had great recommendations and fun activities and stickers for the kids. Really went out of his way to make our time fun. Food was absolutely delicious and portion sizes are big, we got the Baja enchiladas and they blew us away. The chips and salsa were also top tier! Would recommend to anyone
Great stop in Old Town San Clemente! I love their carnitas tacos but the Relleno Del Mar is my ultimate favorite! Quirky little hole in the wall place, great staff & hidden gem that shouldn't be missed. Taco Tuesday is a hit!
Been coming here for (closing in on) 20 years now and its been great food, great service and a great bar the whole time. I love the big patio and the taco Tuesday. La siesta was on par, but being on the hwy... this location is way more chill
Our server was great, very attentive. Authentic Mexican food. Husband enjoyed the wet carnitas burrito and I ordered the chicken enchiladas with mole. The flavor of the mole was really good.
I've only had a few meals here - the two taco combo, the appetizer chicken flautas and appetizer beef taquitos. All have been delicious. Service is good, everyone is extremely kind, food is quick and very tasty. My husband had chicken mole burrito and burrito al pastor and both were huge! It's a fave place of ours
What a great vibe. Service was very friendly, and the margaritas are spectacular. I had the fish taco special, and it was really good. Patio is dog friendly and very comfortable.
IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD THEIR TEQUILA WINGS, YOUR MOUTH HAS NOT LIVED! Carnitas Chesadilla is really good too, and Grilled Chicken Salad is awsome.
Cozy, inviting and cultural. The food was amazing, the service was above and beyond and the ambiance is pleasant. 10/10 definitely recommend!!

I don’t know why it took us so long to get here… it’s just 6 minutes away from our home.. nestled n “old town” you will find this hidden gem.. also, most likely the best homemade salsa you’ll ever taste in our beautiful hometown. Taco Tuesday did not disappoint. You need to get a drink to get the $3 tacos but oh so worth it. The lettuce .. so crunchy and fresh and the cheese that was used .. Mexican cheese.. my husband & I got 3 different tacos … the chicken was definitely my most favorite. We will give enchilada Thursday a try next. Another local patron highly recommended that. With our experience being really good I am bummed to see others didn’t have the same experience as we did.

A wonderful find in San Clemente. Larger than it appears on the outside with good food and excellent service. Our server Roxie was great!
It was the best Mexican food I ever had. The staff and service are friendly and you have the feeling your with family. I give it 5 stars
We love coming to this local hidden gem. I’ve been coming to this place for years, and Roxy has been such an amazing addition to their crew. Service was impeccable, drinks were spot on. Not only do they attend to us, but when bring our doggie they make sure she gets water and cuddles. 100 % for Roxy and owner for being so attentive.
The food was so good! Roxy our server was FABULOUS! She was so nice and was very patient with my bad Spanish. Thank you Roxy for a great lunch with my husband and niece.
so good!! so yummy, inviting and welcoming. my mom got chicken enchiladas and my cousin got shrimp and fish tacos, all of which was super good. as for me, i’m vegan, and Roxy, our SWEET and personable server, jumped right into helping me find what i could eat. the spinach enchiladas with no cream and a side of beans and rice was PERFECT. thank you Roxy!!!!
This place is amazing! the food is great, the service is amazing! and the employees are phenomenal! Roxy is so funny and always takes care of us.
It's a favorite for sure. Can't wait to come back. Everything is amazing 🩷
We LOVE Los Patios! Is is definitely a local gem. They have managed to stay affordable as well. The food is always authentic and fresh and delicious and the setting in Old Town is quaint. I judge a Mexican restaurants food first and foremost by the salsa! Los Patios does not disappoint! It is probably my favorite salsa. I always go home with some. The best thing about this place, even with delicious food and margaritas? The service is always 100% on point. Friendly staff and good service is key for me. We regularly have Roxy as our server and she is attentive, friendly, fun, and an absolute delight. She will always chitchat with me about delicious Mexican recipes and techniques! The personal touch is what keeps us coming back. Our kids live in Temecula and every time they visit they want a trip to Los Patios. Check it out if you love great food and service with the chill San Clemente vibe. We locals will share.

Hey - it's Old Town; not Del Mar! The burrito was huge and tasted great to me! My wife had the fish tacos and was very pleased with them. And! the price was right. We'll be back.
The food was hot, fresh, and tasty with generous portions. It was very good, but I've had better. The service was good, friendly, and helpful with reasonable prices. The atmoshere is casual, and the restroom was clean and well kept. This place is located in a funky little strip mall that is off the main drag and can be a little hard to find. Parking can be tight at times, but that is the norm for San Clemente. Overall, I would recommend Los Patios for its good food and laid-back beach town vibe.
Roxy, my server, was super friendly and helpful in her recommendations. She let me know of their upcoming specials and gave me a coupon when I mentioned coming back with my family. So sweet and welcoming. I had the mole enchiladas and house margarita - tasty and filling. Taco Tuesday and Enchilada Thursdays! The location is in a small but vibrant cozy nook with cute shops. Very charming.
Went for Taco Tuesday and margaritas. Chips, salsa, and guacamole were great starters. Tacos came with one topping. Just meat and onions. Ordered toppings. They tasted great. Service was very friendly.

The food was amazing atmosphere was very nice. But, as I was leaving one of the waiters assumed I didn’t pay for my food and judged me by the way I looked. Even after I told him I left money there he can check he proceeded to ignore what I said. I live down the street and I won’t be coming back.
Three of us went here for a snack while spending the day shopping. The place was empty and when they seated us she put us way in the back corner but we asked if we could move and they ssaid that was fine. It was a little chilly inside maybe because there were ceiling fans on. Should have took this as time to leave. They brought chips and salsa right away and we all only wanted water to drink. We decided to order the trio of enchiladas to share and it said at the top that it came with rice, beans and a guacamole salad. We asked to get all beans no rice and he said it doesn't come with anything even though the menu said it did. He said he would find out. He did bring the food out with beans and when I asked where the guacamole was He said it doesn't come with it and to look at the picture and see that it doesn't and there's nothing he can do he's not the boss. At this time we notice that they are not cheese enchiladas like it says but chicken. When we tell him he says well that's better that what you ordered. I was flabbergasted at that comment. We just kept them and they were delicious but it was very awkward. When it came time to pay that was the most uncomfortable experience. They had that pay thing that you swipe your card at the table. He swiped the card then pointed to the tip spot and told my friend to pick which one she wants for the tip. I was shocked and said we will leave cash. I've never had anything like that happen. I included photos of the menu where it shows what's included with the dishes.

This used to be our "Regular GO-TO", but after a hiatus (we moved) our last visit was less than mediocre. Waiter took forever to take order, and had to constantly remind of basics, like salsa, water. Order taken was not correct. Margaritas were horrible, incredibly expensive and not what they used to be. Although bill was corrected after pointing out huge overcharge on a dish, we're wondering if we got overcharged on margaritas, since there were no prices on menu. In hindsight, always ask about prices, especially on drinks when not posted. Sadly, this was our last time visiting Los Patios. No más!

As we entered it was empty which I was glad about because usually Id expect better service. Our waitress did her due diligence and that I appreciated. What I didn’t appreciate was whomever the cook was or owner that I seen sitting in the back corner as soon as we got there, slouched and talking on his phone before he noticed me just looking at him and left into the kitchen I assume. Well, noticing the foods on the menu they were actually of a really good variety. But the pricing was a little too much. either way I wanted to see if it was cause the quality and taste of the food . Well, the food was not bad but seemed kinda cold. Also , it lacked a bit more of seasoning but I’ll let it pass. I asked my waitress for a little of mole on the side and she came back with the cook said it would be $3.50 and given cold. If you literally are in the kitchen why couldn’t he just heat it up!?? I didn’t understand so I just said to forget it. The environment of this place was sad. No music, no clean looking tables and just boxes of empty beer and sauces right near tables and in customer view. This place has potential but it definitely needs someone who knows how to manage and run a good restaurant. Also, while eating some gentlemen came in for drinks and complained how the prices are just going up every time they come and it’s been around 2-3 months. Either way , I could definitely notice this place is lacking a lot of life, taste, and just a welcoming ambiance. Also, please , someone save this place , it has too much potential to be given up on so easily.
The food is bad and service is slow. As slow as the service was, the food was worse. The food tastes sweet, like too much sugar's added to it. If you’ve ever had Franco American SpaghettiOs, that’s what the sauces taste like. The refried beans have a nasty under taste. The tortillas are inedible. For dinners that cost $20 per plate, one expects better quality. This is a typical tourist trap, being over-charged for low quality as they don’t expect you to ever come back. The outside dining area is on the dumpy side to boot. Overall a miserable dining experience and probably one of the worst dinners we’ve ever had. Grimace. Yuck. Took most of it to go in a doggy bag and our family member who ate the leftovers got sick from it.
The enchiladas were horrible. The red sauce tasted like canned marinara sauce. The beef tacos were dry and had no seasoning or sauce. The worst Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life.
Hands down worst Mexican restaurant in San Clemente, yet still one of the most expensive. I have tried it a few times over the last decade. It’s keeps getting lower in quality and more expensive. Dry carne asada, spoiled tasting salsas. I suspect all these good reviews are paid for.
The food was so so I was asked to pay cash if possible. I did because I don't think I would want this place having my information. Will not be back.
My husband and I ate here for lunch. We should’ve left when we got there and found out we were literally the only people there. The place was extremely outdated and disgusting. The fans were sagging from the amount of dust built up on their blades. There was only one guy working and he seemed nice, but we were obviously scammed. My husband and I both ordered the mole enchiladas combo, which on the menu said that it came served with guacamole. When the server bought the food without the guacamole, I asked him for it and said that the menu states it was included. I could barely finish one enchilada because it was disgusting (and I seriously love Mexican food). The rice and beans also had an extremely off taste to them. We both ordered margaritas that were very small and I felt sick to my stomach (and not in a good way) before I could get even close to finishing it. My husband asked for a beer and was brought one, but it wasn’t the one he asked for. When we got the check, it was $30/40 more than what we had expected to pay when we added up the prices on the menu. On top of that, we had to use the ATM in the restaurant in order to pay which was very weird. Please do not visit here.
Me and my boyfriend went here and ordered six asada tacos and two soft drinks. We were the only ones in the place and the chairs were uncomfortable and outdated. The meat was unseasoned and gross. We were the only ones in the place and the waiter was sitting and eating Chinese food beside us. When we got our check and it totaled to $100 with tip which was ridiculous because our tacos were $8 per taco, never going back again.
