Food is very very good, service is impeccable and really friendly. Prices are very reasonable. We are able to have two meals for the price of one. I will be returning here to dine over and over again.

If you haven't been here in a while you will be pleasantly surprised at the total refresh of this restaurant. New decor, updated menu, clean, great service and awesome food.

The Google listing is incorrect it reads that the establishment is a buffet. This is no longer the case. I'm not saying I'm disappointed with the food it was great. Although I was looking forward to a buffet if I'm ever in the area I would definitely come back

We have been dining at New Mandarin Garden for the last twenty years through the two changes of ownership. It is on our rotation for meals. We felt that a couple of our favorite dishes were not as good under the recent new ownership. However, we dined there last week and the food was great and better than ever!! Their portions were very generous also. Our favorite dishes to order are: -Pan fried dumplings -Honey Walnut Shrimp -Cilantro Chicken -House Special Chicken -Moo Goo Gai Pan (Chicken with mushrooms) -Beef and Broccoli -Sizzling beef -Moo Shu Pork -String beans with meat sauce -Baby Bok Choy -Chicken Fried Rice -Singapore Rice Noodles (curry flavored)

Glad I didn't listen to some of the reviews. I was impressed by the flavor and quality of the food as well as the quantity. Being from Los Angeles where Chinese food is king, this place rates among the top 3 in my favorites. I highly recommend this place if vacationing you will not be disappointed

The new management of this restaurant a Have made dramatic improvements! The food is now fresh and flavorful, without being salty. Vegetables are just perfect - tender crisp. And the new spicy chicken/pork wontons did not disappoint either. Ask for the house chili oil if you like spicy. Interior is renovated to be very bright and clean. Perhaps the brightness could come down just a touch, but overall, I think dining in will be a much better experience, now. So happy there is a great local Chinese place in my neighborhood again!

We really love the food, we order Wor Wonton soup, Beef wontons for appetizer, the kung pay chicken, shrimp with lobster sauce and chicken fried rice, all the food was well served and tasted excellent! The service was also excellent. We will definitely come back.

The vegetarian chow mein and broccoli with tofu (called bean curd) are amazing! I would recommend getting the broccoli with soft tofu. We picked fried, but it was super squishy. Not so very crispy. Service was a bit slow, but that was due to a big party

The New Mandarin Garden has been consistently prepared with high-quality ingredients, and no mystery meat is present. The ownership has undergone a significant transformation, resulting in a significant improvement in the quality of the food. You won't be disappointed. Delicious and generous sized portions.

Okay first off I do not like to leave bad reviews but this isn't really a bad review it's just notes from my experience this afternoon. So we enter the restaurant and a gentleman greets us and tells us to sit anywhere so we do in a booth in the opposite room that everyone was in but we wanted to be away and it wasn't that far after sitting down he tells us actually this is our party room so please come over to this other room understandable. So we move to the other room. After a few minutes we order. No crispy noodles anymore I guess with the hot mustard in this sour sauce they used to bring, and we order. our lunch comes out, portions seem small but it's lunch so I imagine they'll be a little smaller. When our waiter comes back I asked him if we can get some chili sauce and or Sriracha he says yes, and I wait and wait, and look over at the hostess who is standing there not helping tables not doing anything but will look at everyone else except me and so I wait. After the waiter takes care of a bill of another table, refills drinks, takes the order of another table I asked him again as my food is getting cold if I can have some chili sauce and sriracha and he says yes I'll bring that out for you right away and I wait and wait. He went to the back and I assume it's at the very back because of how long it's taking. Finally I get a small dish or chili sauce and small of Sriracha. Our waiter never comes back. There was one other table seated in the whole restaurant. It was prime lunch time. 12:50. So not sure if I'll be returning anytime soon. The food wasn't bad. I don't like to slam local businesses but I also don't like restaurants falling into a spot of complacency thinking since they're established rules of common service don't apply.

The lemon chicken is poor quality, food over all is ok. Atmosphere is nice. I wouldn't recommend.

I used to order the Singapore noodles from here all the time but the last two times there was little to no curry. Not sure what’s going on but it was so disappointing. I hope I can find somewhere else that will make it like you used to.

Here's what we did with $60 worth of food. The food taste like trash. How this place is in business is beyond me. How anyone gave this place a good rating I'd mind boggling. This isn't chinese food. I feel nauseated and wish I could get back my money and stomach balance. Disgusting!

I have lived in San Clemente for forty years now and I have been going to this New Mandarin Garden since I was around four or five years old. The last few weeks have seen such a large decrease in the quality of food and service that it makes me wonder if they got all new staff or someone else is running the place now. I cannot suggest this place with its current quality of food as even their house special chicken looked to be frozen and store bought with particles of plastic still within it. Their house egg foo young lacked any sort of meat in it, showcasing only one shrimp per serving. I hope that one day they will go back to the quality they had, until that happens however myself and my family regrettably will be unable to eat at the establishment any longer.

Been coming here for MANY years and have always had excellent meals and service. Wifey and I decided we'd have our Xmas eve meal here. Apparently at some point since our last visit there have been some changes. None for the better. Different menu, unknown employees, even different plates; so unsuitable for service the waiter had to slide the plate over the table edge to pick it up. The egg foo yung was burned and seemed to be made entirely of broccoli. The pork fried rice was dry, the bits of pork tough. The paper wrapped chicken was burned into the foil, making it next to impossible to remove. The egg rolls and wontons extremely greasy.......... AND the server was inattentive. Sad to see another place go to Hedoublehockeysticks We won't be back.
