The Riders Club Cafe (Super Bowl Express) is a local favorite known for its tasty Japanese food, friendly service, and generous portions. The chicken teriyaki and spam musubi are highly recommended. It's under new ownership, but the quality remains.
Tip: The place is small, so consider taking your food to-go and enjoying it near the beach. Arrive early if you want to snag some of their popular spam musubi.

Amazing food and even better service😋 There is no picture because my kids were eating it so fast I didn't have a chance to snap a photo😅 Sushi was fresh and yummy, chicken meal was hot, flavourful and and huge! The owner was so friendly and helpful - it was a pleasure to go there. I'm sure we will be back when we are back in San Clemente 🤩
I love their food. I consider this place a hidden gem. Healthy, tasty, and quick service. This place isn't hidden as it's right on El Camino Real, but it doesn't stick out making it easy to overlook. The building is small and only has barstool seating inside. Almost everyone gets their food to go, so it's never hard to get a seat if you want to eat there.
New ownership has done a fantastic job. The guy is super friendly and obviously passionate about making this place special. Prices are more than fair and service is very quick and easy. The spam musubis are killer. The chicken has gotten better because they stopped overcooking it and they are more generous with the teriyaki. The Korean short ribs are always a treat as well. Hoping to keep seeing these positive changes!
This place has been around for probably 30 years, and is a staple in the local San Clemente community. It’s been under new ownership since COVID, but the food remains freshly made and delicious. I will warn you, parking is sparse and shared with the coffee shop next door. The place is easy to spot but if you’re heading south and crossing traffic, be prepared to wait. Inside, there’s a big menu with plenty of options and pictures of the options on the wall. As the name suggests, you can get various teriyaki rice bowls and other options, like spam musubi, which was just made and displayed on the counter. I typically order chicken or beef teriyaki bowls. Both are delicious. The meat is tender and flavorful. The sauce, green onions and topping really enhance the flavor. Overall, portions are decent and there’s a fair amount of meat for the price. The owner clearly takes pride in the business, and assured me the food was freshly cooked from his kitchen to me. Thanks for keeping this business around!
Best food in San Clemente! Every time we visit the area, we have to get Super Bowl. You get a lot of food for the price and it’s consistently delicious. The owner and staff are extremely friendly!
Staff and new management, like the old management before, friendly and price menu too, fairly quick, and responsive, family oriented, quick stop and go gem, tasty food nonetheless 😋
My co worker just told me about this Super bowl express. We've been eating the same food over and over so we decide to look and eat something new. I personally love platter #3 chicken, short ribs and beef with veggies. The beef is so good and tender. I love it. Try it...
We loved this place tonight! New ownership, amazing food, and the service is amazing…warm and personable! We had the Korean Short-Rib Platter….amazing! Veg. Tempura, Gyoza, Chicken and Beef Platter, and the California Rolls….everything was delicious and generous portions! We will definitely be coming back!
This place was good but since it changed ownership let me tell you it’s AMAZING. The new owner is so friendly and welcoming. The chicken is more flavorful and juicy. They also have Masubi now my new favorite. A must try.
Loved this place for years. Lots of food for the price
I Love this little quaint place. The staff are friendly and fast .They food is always fresh hot & service has never disappointed me nor the food I Love the ribeye beef bowl it's so good and great portions .
I love Teriyaki and so do my boys. When we moved into the neighborhood we started getting take out here and everything is great. They even load up on sauce, green onions and sesame seeds after its done. We will keep coming back
One of my favorite restaurants in town. The quality, the customer service, and the flavor of the bowls… A1. If you’re a gym rat go here after your workout. You’ll thank me later. PS: Tell Ju Dylan sent you :)
My bf and I came in here for the first time tonight and absolutely loved the food! The whole staff is super friendly and the teriyaki chicken & veggie tempura is perfect, highly recommend!! Call ahead because they make everything fresh :)
Got the Chicken Teriyaki Sushi, the Boston Roll, and the Korean BBQ ribs platter. The food was delicious and the fish was fresh: did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and went above and beyond. Will be going again!
Rolls were fresh and delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Great little takeout spot.
Love this place!! Great food at reasonable prices. Many yummy heathy choices. I Love their teriyaki sauce which is not sweet but incredibly tasty. Be aware it's mainly a take out place....only 2 tiny tables outside and a counter with swivel chairs inside.
I highly recommend the KBBQ Short Rib Platter. The rice was so soft and moist without being wet. The flavor of the teriyaki sauce on top is *chef's kiss*. The lady behind the counter who took our order says she works weekends but you'll be lucky to have her!
Great place! Been coming here for 20 years and even though it's under new ownership in terms of food you wouldn't know anything changed. New owner is great! He definitely is a breath of fresh air & to that end breathing new life into this iconic establishment. 🍣🥟🥡 I for one will be coming back more frequently. Arigato! 🙏
Best teriyaki chicken/beef bowls in town! Sushi rolls are great and you can’t beat the price! 10/10 recommend.
This is my new favorite spot! I really like the udon noodle soup. It is the best, they also have large bowls, and the couple that runs it is super nice. Make sure you put onions in your soup it is bomb!
Always and forever!! This place rocks!! Consist great food on every visit and the crew and owner behind the counter are ALWAYS the most polite, friendly and professional I always take-away here so I can't comment on the eat in sitch ... All I can say is that it's a small place to begin with so the eat in options reflect the small space. Very clean place!! I highly recommend!!
Small family looking spot. Very good teriyaki chicken. We ordered broccoli on the side which came out nice. The miso soup came out hot like lava, needed to cool before tasting. Not a place to bring the little kids, outside seating was loud because of motorcycle traffic, and inside seating was bar stools only. Service was good. This would be best as takeout.
I absolutely 💯 recommend this place. If I could give 10 stars, I would. The food is absolutely delicious and worth the price. The service is amazing and quick. The lady at the front was so polite and absolute a doll she was fantastic. The place felt very welcoming and warm. It was cold out today, but even with the door open, it was so warm.
This roadside spot was a real discovery! I've had plenty of so-so teriyaki all over so cal, between the mediocre chain spots and the locally owned places that are phoning it in, I don't flinch when the meat is dry and the rice sub par. Despite the unassuming name, Super Bowl Express was a real revelation, the best fast food teriyaki I've had in ages. The meat was well prepared, tender and flavorful. The rice was great and they had fresh toppings to add upon request. I will be back again!
OMG, OMG, OMG 😇 😲 😲 WOW! No exaggerating, no kidding, my first time here and I'm blown away. 🤪 Crazy Good 🤪 I was out Saturday ridding my 23 Phantom, heading south on the coast road. I was actually heading to a different place I've been wanting to try. I was so hungry I was about to chew my own arm off, when it hit me, this aroma of teriyaki chicken cooking on a grill, ahh mann I had to have it. I had to make two U-turns ( you know the coast road, No crossing the double solid yellow lines) to get back to "Super Bowl Express" And I am here to tell you it was Well worth the effort. The staff is real friendly, you're met with a hello and a welcome as you walk into this little Mom & Pop restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and their is indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is very extensive for the size of the restaurant 😋 and the portions are very generous, and prices very reasonable 😀 this is a Good Meal & Value establishment 😉 I had the teriyaki chicken bowl (first item on thier popular item menu) it was cooked fresh, and served on a perfect sized bed of white rice with a mountain of grilled teriyaki chicken on top 😋 then instead of drowning the chicken in teriyaki sauce, the staff lets you choose how much sauce to add, same goes for the green onions and sesame seeds. 😋 along with a medium fountain drink. ALL for less than $15.00 bucks. I ate every last bite except for about five kernels of rice, that I got tired of chasing around the bottom of the bowl 😜 it was sooo good😋😋😋 Now let me be completely honest and forthcoming, this is really a very nice hidden gem and they've been in business for 31 years so you know they have to doing "It Right" they are a small mom & pop shop, the owners are doing the cooking putting in the love first hand, and cook everything fresh, so be prepared to wait a couple of minutes for your order 😀 but it is worth the wait 😉 if you only have limited time, they do offer and recommend that you phone your order in advance 😀 but if you're not in a hurry stop in have a sit down, and try this place, I can't wait till next time I come back, maybe this coming weekend. 😉 Enjoy 😊 Tell them Smokey Fred sent you 😉 SmokeyFredsays 😉
A Hidden Gem in Surfer’s Paradise – Super Bowl Express Delivers a Knockout!” Tucked away in the heart of surf heaven, Super Bowl Express is the kind of place you stumble upon once—and never forget. The staff? Absolute legends. They literally fired up the kitchen after hours just to make me dinner. That kind of hospitality is rare. The food? Fresh, flavorful, and made with heart. The BBQ with brown rice and vegetables is a game-changer—smoky, wholesome, and perfectly balanced. And don’t sleep on the sushi—it’s ocean-fresh and melts in your mouth. If you’re chasing waves and crave something real, this spot is your post-surf paradise.
One of the very best restaurants in San Clemente. Everything is consistently delicious. Staff is friendly. I love this spot!
Okay this place is great. Food, service, unassuming location… you should eat here. Tiny strip mall on that you wouldn’t expect. I dropped in for a random lunch on a Thursday afternoon and was blown away. The teriyaki veggie bowl was great. The spicy sauce was very manageable and left me wanting more and more. Veggies cooked well and not overcooked. Chicken had some great texture too without being overcooked. A little bit of a wait but it’s worth it for fresh food! Honestly can’t wait to return! Thanks for the great food and service.
Been looking at this place for about 10 years now and finally decided to try it out. I got the superbowl special platter and was super impressed. Fantastic plate and large portions. I'd definitely come back to try out more of the menu. Customer service was really nice too.
We were passing by and saw the lights and stopped OMG the food and personable service was great We will be back you gotta stop by

Indubitably Scrumdiddlyumptious. The chicken teriyaki bowl was amazing and the cashier was very nice. The parking was a little scarce but overall it was great experience. Amazing :D
Excellent food! Being new to town, it took me a while to find a place that serves chicken teriyaki like the spots back home in the Seattle area—where there are plenty of great options. I’m happy to say this place delivers. Everyone who works here is incredibly friendly, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food. The steamed veggies are amazing, the white rice is perfectly cooked, the Korean BBQ is flavorful, and even the Philadelphia sushi roll is spot on. You won’t be disappointed!
Their food is so good! I love their beef bowl and their Musubi. Everyone there’s really friendly and they always get your food out quickly and it’s always hot! Thank you!
A FAVORITE of my wife and I. We come back to Superbowl at least once a month. We have tried most things on the menu but keep going back to the Chicken tariyaki and Sushi rolls! I love their spam musubi's! But you gotta go early in the day if you want some of those because they are so popular (no surprise there). Staff are always a delight and the spot is small but comfortable. Definitely a take out centered location but in can cater very nice to dine there if you want. I recommend ordering your food and walking down to north beach and enjoy your meal on the sand by the waves!
Just sayin the food is incredible and immaculate and delicious is an understatement Sweet . The meat is incredibly soft and tender, and has quite a depth of flavor, You feel It, it really hits every point on the pallet. There is fattiness, char from the flat top, herbaceous notes, sweetness and tang from the teriyaki. Their homemade teriyaki sauce is a magic trick. I just moved to San Clemente and I am obsessed with flavor and this did not disappoint, the hospitality is incredible, but it feels like you have been a local forever just in the know…. I can’t even ask for anything better. They make their own amazing hot sauce and their peanut sauce, please don’t sleep on that, is delicious. The meat is so tender; the beef, the chicken, everything is so fresh delicious…out of this world. I walked in at 11. The phones were getting slammed. People are walking in non stop. Best discovery ever! I will be back again and again and again!
Best bowl I’ve had in So CA. Ribeye and chicken meat was clean and tender no chunks of fat. Amazing taste!!! Will definitely be back next time I’m passing through.
Absolute grub! We didn't find this place until our last night in town. I wish we would have found it earlier in our trip. This is really good Asian food. The bowls are a good size for lunch. The platters are a BIG dinner. Great food at a great price. There was a train of locals coming through to pick up food while I was waiting.
One of my fav go to local spots in San Clemente. Tasty and great value for your money. Ask for their house made hot sauce and peppers!
Under new ownership and a blessing for it. The previous owner certainly set the mold however he and his wife had put in their time and the place need new vigor. It's a perfect "whole in the wall" with cheerful family ownership and friendly well treated staff. The menu has stayed the same but the food quality and facility maintenance has gone up! I particularly recommend the Korean BBQ Pork. Chicken salad. Whatever roll you like for sushi.
I’ve been coming here since I was to young to even remember with my parents. As a born and raised SC local, I can say this has always been in my top 5 favorite places to eat in town. The food has always been amazing, and served with care. Just found about new ownership, and the food is still equally as good if not better. The beef was tender, juicy, and fresh when I got it. The man that served me was friendly and courteous. I couldn’t be any happier with the folks that took over this beloved establishment. Best Asian fusion around hands down. Would give a 10 star review if I could.
Stopped by to grab a bite to eat on my way to the outlet. Under new ownership as the previous owners seemed to have retired, but the food tasted great as it always have been. Price was very fair for the portion and quality considering the inflation and outrageous prices at other establishments. The new owners are young and very friendly too. Definitely will be back when in the area.
The food brings joy to my tastebuds, and the staff make me feel at home. I felt like a local after only going in 3 times.5 big booms; boom, boom, boom, boom, boom and one more massive BOOM.
Great food, but the place is small. One L-shaped table when eating there, but it's close enough to the beach where it's better to take to-go and enjoy the breeze. When I went, the chicken was a little bit better than the bulgogi beef. They also have spam masubi's, which are not on the menu. Small parking lot out back, can get packed during rush hour.

Yum! I've been here twice this past week because it's across the street from the hotel I'm staying at on my vacation. Went the first time because it smelled so good from across the street. Went again today thanks to the great food and cheap prices and was not let down either time. We've tried a couple of bowls as well as the udon soup. We also had a small selection of sushi and were amazed by its quality (and value - $3.15 for two pieces of nigiri - wow!). This isn't a fancy place - you order at the counter, and there's no alcohol available (there's a liquor store right next door, though). I gave decor a score of 1, but it's not because there's anything wrong with it... It was very clean, but it's essentially a take- out place. Just nothing fancy. Overall, a very non-touristy spot in a touristy town. If you wanna eat where the locals go, this is the place.
I had the the sushi-c combo and it was decent. The rolls were a little underwhelming but the sushi was great. I saw several people getting bowls and wished I would have tried one of those. They looked fantastic.
Great rice bowls. Spicy option is a good spice level. Small place so it can be a bit slow since it's pretty popular. Fast food style service with very limited seating and no dedicated parking but good quality/price.
Only item I got atm was the beef udon wasn't really filling for me. Food quality not really out of extradinary. Pricing seems average from other Asian food places. Overall good place to eat.

Note to self: will NOT eat here again. Portions to cost ratio are RIDICULOUSLY small at less than half of normal places. The sauce is meh at best and most definitely not worth the over charge. This here was $14+ dollars and NO drink. I’m pretty sure that with a drink it would have been around $20. That’s TWO chipotle bowls in my area. OVERPRICED SMALL PORTIONS meh flavor. NTS: WILL NOT DO AGAIN
