The matcha makes me feel like I’m Flying. Please get it. You won’t regret it I promise. Whenever I get it I get happier.
Good assortment of baked goods, most of them are fun.
Nice, easy, quick. You get to pick which pastry you want from multiple available. Each pastry we tried tasted fantastic and was not overly sweet, was really light to eat. They make fresh bread and pastries in the back kitchen. The drinks/ boba was nice and fresh as well.
My favorite bakery in UTC. Delicious breads and cakes. The employees are professional and the screen doesn’t ask for tips.
Great little spot with good pastries, coffee and milk tea. In a great spot
Best asian bakery by far in San Diego. I recommend 10/10. I’ve been to multiple cities in different countries trying to find a Asian bakery as good as this one. But none of them have reached my standards. 85° has the best pastry’s and drinks. They have savory and sweet pastry’s and multiple option of drinks. The customer service is also over the top. Good prices for the portions.
This is a wonderful place. For just a couple dollars you can get some exquisite pastries that are replicas of some traditional pastries and I'm not sure what the background of this place is but it's some incredible classic style pastries. They are beautiful. They are constantly rolled out fresh. I do think the coffee is quite expensive and I've never tried it cause I don't really drink that much coffee but the pastries are a value there is always a line here this is a very highly recommended place to try if you want just a special dessert and it's very affordable. They have amazing pastries.
I love this location much more than the Mira Mesa one. I always had pleasant experiences at here. Got some breads and cakes and ate at the mall, so nice! The service is good and people are nice and friendly. I will definitely come back this location for 85C breads. Btw, I had a Aussie meat bread and rose milk tea this time, it’s so good! I love!
Great prices and good service. The drinks are tasty. No complaints here.
Great pastries and desserts at 85C! On this visit we ordered a Lychee green milk tea, strawberry milk tea, slice of strawberry cake, and a slice of tiramisu. Very fast and friendly service and they’re constantly bringing out fresh pastries. Definitely recommend!
The variety of breads, pastries, and cakes is incredible. My favorites were the Tiramisu cake and Mango Creme Brulee. The staff were friendly and efficient, making the experience even better. The ambiance is cozy and perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed coffee break. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious baked goods and great service!
They love brioche and I love the desserts they make with it. Up until recently my favorite thing on their menu was the Berrytale...and has been for the past 5 years. It's basically berry jelly and cream cheese in a brioche bun and wow is it delicious! Well, they have a new dessert brioche roll called the Hokkaido custard bun. I would describe it as a brioche cream puff, but it kind of has a tres leches cake flavor to it. Soooo....that's what I'll be going back for next time because it's as good as it sounds. Don't shy away from their drinks. They are on par with the brioche rolls. We've tried a few like the salted caramel series, the usual Taro smoothie with boba, and most recent the Mango Strawberry smoothie which tastes like a strawberry shortcake drink. Definitely try this place.
I love 85C! They have delicious cakes and treats. It’s pretty easy and fast to order. The staff is very friendly. I got the strawberry cake square and so fluffyyyyyy and delicious! Also the coconut snow cubes are so good. You should definitely go and give it a try!
Everything we tried was perfect. Not too sweet. The peach green tea was really good. A must try is blueberry cheesecake.
Quick breakfast bite, with a lot of baked goods options and tea varieities as well. 4 star for the little space inside.
No keto, but those who eat it are welcome. From another point the quality of food is still 5 stars ❤️

My favorite bakery in UTC. Delicious breads and cakes. The employees are professional and the screen doesn’t ask for tips.
It’s one of the lightest sweets I’ve ever had. It’s great!
A UTC staple for me and my friends! Unbeatable pastries, and relatively inexpensive. For not being a speciality boba shop, their milk and fruit teas are pretty good (and a wide selection of drinks too!). I especially like their warm milk teas.
It's moist and chewy and the bread is art. The price is so good that I've been looking for a lot. Now, the bread size has become smaller because prices have risen. Still, it's okay compared to other bread prices. Bread and coffee for forty dollars. Salt and caramel coffee at this store are delicious, but since I bought them anyway..They even gave me a Christmas mug for a dollar.
Loved the big selection of pastries! All the employees yelled WELCOME and FRESH BREAD whenever something came out of the oven. My absolute favorite is the ham n cheese pastry! Also the caramel milk tea was amazing as well.
I’ve been heree multiple times and this place has a gReat selection of pastries and buns. You also get coffee and bubble tea here. I’ve tried the pork buns , the mushroom bun, the bacon and cheese and the chEddar cheese buns. The milk bun is my favorite. Even the chocolate mousse cake is great. I got all the stuff I mentioned above for 13$ which is amazing!
Store was clean inside although kind of small. Smooth line process. Lots of pastry options, however I am not sure if the bread is made in house as the store is so small. Either way, the bread tasted fresh.

I love the cake slices. They’re delicious, but they’re often sold out. Better inventory would really help. The employees are always friendly and happy to guide you if you’re unsure where to order or pay, though a few signs would make things easier.

Being honest, pretty overhyped place. Long lines, self service, and not so great selection of meh-basic pastry products that your average Vons or Kroger does better at making for a much cheaper price. The staff are friendly enough but this place is nothing special.
Im really hoping this location have more savory options like all their other bakery! There is probably one or two options and a ton of sweet options. I grew my love for 85 breads through their savory selection, so hopefully we get more of those here. I also got the milk bun today, this is my first time trying it but I dont think the filling (suppose to be cream) is suppose to taste and feel chalky. I literally had to BITE through it like it was chalk, never happened before, maybe this bread was from two days ago? I don’t know, odd for a 85 bakery.
We stopped by this 85° to get a couple of boxes of pastries each week for the UCSD Oncology medical staff that my family member is seeing everyday for radiation treatments. This has to be my least favorite location! Andrew and Andy are the only two friendly cashiers that would smile when they help customers but the rest always seem so miserable and I see how they are so unfriendly when they serve customers. We have a VIP account so we tried to order a few of their drinks from the special based on our points offers... we were told we are out... we are out of that too... we are out of that also. And the week before Christmas they were also out of utensils. They sell cake slices and no utensils 2 weeks prior to xmas?! What!$@#? The drinks that we did get were watered down and were not good at all. We only went back for the pastries. 3 🌟 for pastries, Andy and Andrew. We stopped going there after four weeks and went to the one on Balboa.
85c Bakery Cafe in UTC Westfield has a smell that I couldn’t coupe with. Other than that it’s a good place.
Well, no surprise. A solid bakery with standard selection. Go early . I don't have much selection near 7pm.

I love 85c, but i do not love this location. The bun selection is always lacking. Today there wasnt a single savory bun available and its the 3rd time in a row in the past month ive come and there are once again no milk pudding buns. Its the closest one to my home which is 45 minutes away, and i hate that i dont have an easy way to know if they will actually have the buns i like, available that day.
This place is too small shop at the corner. There is no place to eat in. It's just only for to go (There's a few table and chairs at outside) AC wasn't cold enough at summer time and those cakes hits the sun light directly from the outside. This shop need to be cold and cool at summer time. The customers are waiting for long line to pay, and there's only one cashier register and one order machine by yourself. It is very very slow operation at this corner small shop if it’s busy day. I personally likes the other bigger store location.
Horrible service, waited 15 minutes for an iced coffee and it was gross. They forced us to wait outside for our drinks and it’s 90 degrees out! They should have faster service, bunch of staff were just hanging out doing nothing. The girl making the drinks was so angry.
There are MANY other options in the mall for tea, coffee, snacks, and sweets. Don’t go out of your way for 85. I work at the mall and would go here regularly, but lately they have been dropping the ball. I usually rave about the variety at 85, but for months now their selection has been lacking. They always have empty shelves, and recently had me change my drink order (after I had paid and been waiting) because they ran out of SALT of all things… Their hours are also inconsistent; not uncommon for me to walk over only to be met with a locked door and a handwritten sign taped to the window informing me of their temporary hours. Their other locations are great, but something about this one makes it seem like it isn’t even part of the same chain. Shame.
The lemon cake was too sweet and too dry in the cake part, and the cake was a bit ugly in terms of design. But the good thing is that the fresh cream has just the right amount of sweetness! We also bought a snack that day, which was a small pastry with creamy meat floss. It looked delicious? But it is too sweet for people who don’t like too sweet! 85 degrees C is from Taiwan? in the case of? Then your company should also make taro flavors in cake flavors!
85c bakery near Target Mira Mesa is our go to place but since their chocolate melter was broken we placed a birthday cake order from the UTC one. We brought the cake yesterday and the cake was fine in terms of taste but they didn't put the candle with the cake which was ordered along with the cake, neither did they write the full message on the cake, only part of it was there. And writing was so bad that it was little hard to read! It appeared that they made the cake in a rush and gave us the cake without any care! Needless to say it was a mini disaster!

Water with dirt will be a better option than their coffee
Last Saturday I ordered online. After one hour, it was delivered. But egg tarts were missed. So I called the store. First time no one answered, the second time and third time someone picked up and just hung up directly without saying anything. To be honest, it’s a little rude. Then I post the whole thing on order feedback but no response so far. I love this place. Every time in UTC I come here to buy some bread and desserts. But this experience is really disappointing.
The AC is broken in there and the poor workers are forced to work without any accommodations. Does not seem like a safe working environment at all! And the weather just continues to heat up! Disappointed that the owners are putting their very friendly staff in that position. I was sweating just waiting in the line, can't imagine what the workers are going through.
The food's great, but the service could be better. The guy who took my order was terribly inconsiderate. We had been waiting a while outside for our drink when it started drizzling. We kept looking inside to consider following up on our order but, since the same guy kept staring right back without any hint of emotion or sign that it was done, we figured they were still making the boba. So when the guy walked out and past us without so much as a glance, I was baffled. I went in, only to find that our drink was READY and he just hadn't bothered to let us know. If perhaps he did, and I was only too deaf to hear it, HE COULD'VE REPEATED IT. He very well knew what we were waiting for; the place barely had any other customers then. Regardless of what reasons he might have had for the attitude, I don't see how personal issues should mix in with how he treats customers. The service is discouraging, not sure I wanna go back anymore.
This review is exclusively for their 3-pack of “chocolate chip” cookies. I had a bite and it was the most disrespected chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had. Hard as a rock, has a strong sense of cinnamon, and the most disappointing ingredient, oatmeal. As a true and 100% OG, ride or die of chocolate chip cookies, I rule a judgement of a lifetime sentence for the imposters at 85C bakery.
I don’t understand the hype around 85°C Bakery. The pastries are overpriced and surprisingly bland for a place that’s always so busy. On top of that, charging 10 cents for a bag after spending a bunch of money on pastries feels petty. Honestly, no wonder one of the locations closed down. Overall, the quality doesn’t match the price, and I won’t be coming back.
