GREAT sandwiches! I’ve had 2 different sandwiches here and they’ve both both some of the best sandwiches I’ve had in San Diego. The only downside for me was that it was pricey but I felt like I got what I paid for. I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again.

Excellent New York Jewish Deli. I had a great Reuben sandwich and matzo ball soup. I highly recommend Carnivore. The owner is friendly and accommodative. The restaurant is simple, modern and clean with an outdoor eating area.

Loved it! Nice location and small patio area. We needed a place that was close to the Santa Fe Depot so we can catch the bus to the airport in an hour and Carnivore Sandwich was very close even with all our luggage. $12 for an awesome three layered Avo-BLT and $13 for a HUGe Ruben sandwich was worth every bite (better and more food than the airport for sure)

Traditional delicatessen with a Detroit flair. Great lunch stop. Its my go-to whenever I'm downtown at lunchtime.

I have eaten numerous times at this restaurant. They make great tasting sandwiches, and the meat potions are very generous . The service is excellent, and the decor is bright ,minimal, and modern, wonderful eatery.

Ate here twice while in town on business. Great sandwiches. Generous with the meat, carefully crafted, and just the right amount of sauces/spread. Staff were very nice and engaging.

This place is a gem and Cameron and his team are top notch. Was visiting a friend in town this week and they set us up with amazing sandwiches and recommendations and some seriously tasty fries too. Thanks y’all!

Great deli, and the name says it all! Any sandwich you get is going to have lots of meat in it. Good value for the money. The Cranberry Orange Walnut bread is awesome, as is the Cucumber Salad side. Even though they do serve ham and bacon, it is a Jewish Deli and kosher options are available, so everyone's happy! (Except maybe vegetarians, but I am not sure. They might have options.) They also have more unusual sandwich options like smoked salmon or beef tongue, if that's your thing. Lettuce and tomato were fresh, delicious food served in an appealing way, and employees were friendly. Altogether excellent experience!

The Hangover is a hardy breakfast sandwich that WOULD have fixed me... if the day wasn't already a reasonably sober 10:30am on Tuesday. I saw the monstrosity next to the register, asked what it was, and was greeted with a roughly $12-14 sandwich menu. For downtown, thats par for the course. Was it worth the $12~ price tag? Absolutely. Would I drive back down from LA to get this sandwich again? . . . I'm tempted. Not gonna lie. Hashbrowns, sausages, ham, hotsauce, fried egg wrap and only half of it I could finish in one sitting (which is surprising, I am a *healthy* woman with a *healthier* appetite), it was worth the experience. Not greasy, not super spicy, not as heavy as I would assume. Just tasty. I'm looking forward to my trip in Oct to SD to grab another one of these bad boys. I'm hungry already.

Really good place. I had the club sandwich on sour dough. They packed the sandwich with a lot of meat. Delicious! Sorry, I ate the sandwich before I remembered to take a picture 😂. It's a very good place. Try it. You'll like it. And they have outdoor seating so you're COVID safer. 👍

Discovered this Deli while headed for the Museum of Contemporary Art on Kettner. Had some time to kill before the museum opened, so decided to try it for breakfast. Food was excellent, great value for the money as well. I ordered a plate of scrambled eggs with breakfast potatoes and an English muffin for 5.50, expecting a small amount of food, instead it was a huge plate. Probably 3 eggs worth and a ton of potatoes, which featured red potatoes, with onion, pepper and some good seasoning. My family had their bagels with fruit, which they enjoyed as well, and there was more than enough potatoes on my plate for them all to have some. On the way back from the museum we picked up a slab of their multi-layer Chocolate cake which did not disappoint. Good menu, we were there near noon on the way back and they were slicing meat fresh for their sandwich specials. Recommend a visit if you're in the area.

I ordered that Philly Cheese Steak with spicy peppers. It was great. The meat had great flavor and the veggies were fresh. I would definitely recommend.

I walked in with my two young boys to get lunch. We were instantly greeted with kindness, I felt like we were family. The food was outstanding and we’ll definitely be back. Thanks again for the candy and ice cream!

Best sandwiches in all of San Diego. The fries were absolutely incredible, it was like getting the best sandwiches you can find in New York City with a sunny view.

I went for a chop chicken liver on Saturday. Just before they closed. They already prepared for me the big, testy sandwich. It took me a long time to finish it. They filled it with so much meat and good staff that it was delishace! I really enjoyed the test and amount of the liver that they put in, that I'll definitely come back for a great sandwich like it! Thanks a lot for your great service and care!

My Wife, Coworkers and Myself tried Carnivores for the first time today St Patrick's day. I had the corned beef sandwich, extra meat, potato salad with a side of Russian dressing (which I really never liked as a kid ) and extra pickle. It was a good sandwich. The meat had no fat and very tasty, the Russian dressing was sooo good, the potato salad was super good wish there was more, and dill pickles always make a sandwich. The only thing that I would say negative was on My sandwich the rye bread was pretty stale so I just used some fresh bread from home and everything was good.

I ate here two days in a row. Day 1 I had the Boss. Day 2 had the burger special with fries and potato salad. All I can say is I travel for a living and couldn’t ask for a better lunch anywhere. Cameron the owner does an amazing job he will not disappoint. See you next time! Randy

I am so lucky this is next to my office. Healthy portions, fresh ingredients, and of course they have Dr. Brown! I recommend if you’re an East coaster like me looking for some childhood classics. Gets pretty busy at lunch, so call ahead.

Great sandwich! Great service! So good that I didn’t have a picture until I already ate half my Reuben sandwich! My husband had the “Pilgrim” sandwich which had such a generous piling of turkey that he had to take some off to eat separately!

V
Valencia McCartney

The "1/2" sandwich and soup was not only delicious, but it might as well have been a full sized sandwich and bowl of soup! It also came with a deli side, pickle and drink! Brian is the owner and is so friendly, helpful and genuinely interested in how he can make his business and your experience even better.

M

Random walk by drop in after the SD marathon and so glad we did. Owner/staff were awesome and the sandwiches were the best we have had in forever. Will definitely go back when in SD again

V

This is an amazing deli. The owner goes well out of his way to make sure your order is perfect and just the way your ordered it. Bring an appetite because your sandwich will be bigger than you think it will be. The meat is tender and delicious. (If your order a breakfast burrito, be sure to ask them to go easy on the hash brown potatoes.) This is my new favorite downtown lunch spot.

M
Matt Mattia

Wow what a great place. I literally had the best breakfast burrito I have ever had in my life here. The shaved potato’s hit the spot, unlike most places that just use whole Potato’s or French fries this place takes the time to do it right. The chicken soup was make from scratch and was full of chicken and had lots of flavor. Can’t wait to come back!

S
Sean Kotwa

This place is not only absolutely delicious, but the service is quick, attentive and accurate. The food was fresh and very filling. I found this while on a layover for work and will def be bragging about it to all my flight attendant friends that this place is def worth the trip.

M
Marq Schuling

This place was awesome! Owner is super nice and the sandwiches are delicious. Piled high with meat and very high-quality. Bread was especially awesome, very soft and just the right sized slices for the sandwich. Highly recommend it, especially if you have some time before you take the Amtrak or Coaster from Santa Fe Depot.

Love, love, love this place! The sandwiches here amazing... with stacks of meat, and super high quality ingredients. Be sure to ask for your favorite add-ons.... they are happy to customize. Also, all of the salads are wonderful; I especially like the stuffed avocado salad with shredded chicken. Twice we have bought our food here, then carried it over to Stone Brewery across the street to enjoy with beer. Very fun!

Excellent quality, excellent service. Portions served are abundant. I had, Split Pea Soup, half a turkey sandwich on Challah bread with side of Cole Slaw. Soup was, hearty, well seasoned and delicious. Turkey and bread were very fresh and moist. Iced tea strong, fresh and good. Cole slaw very good it is not too sweet. Nothing is over salted. I am a normal eater and could only eat half the meal. The other half I will eat tomorrow. At first glance prices seem high compared to other places, but if you consider the portions served along with the quality, they are reasonable and worth it! The Macaroon Cookie is absolutely delicious. Freshly Baked Taste, not to sweet and big enough for two portions.

S
Steve Willey

I like this place. I live close by and drop in a couple times a month as if I ate here more often then I’d gain too much weight. I love their morning bagels with just cream cheese or the bagel breakfast sandwiches. I’ve only tried their lunch sandwiches and not anything else but hope to some day. Excellent selection of sodas from across the US as well that I’m making my way through.

On mornings I specially like their Bacon and two eggs Fancy Sandwich. Packed with two eggs grilled to perfection and plenty of bacon -not too soft, not too crunchy-. I love the the way they cook the Sunny side up eggs, just to preserve the yolk's richness. On top, you'll find generous amounts of avocado, and a hint of onion (probably optional, but a must for me). My taste buds are going crazy as I write this on the way there. Along with a coffee, it's my perfect way to start a day.

The sandwiches here are amazing! We've had the tuna salad melt, chicken greek wrap and the Boss sandwich--all memorably delicious. And, the beet salad is really good! Hoping next year when we return, they will be able to get in the beef tongue.

Great sandwich. Loved the bread. Just wish the portions were a tiny bit bigger. I had the Italian. Meat quality was top tier. Love it comes with a quality pickle spear!!

Absolutely LOVE this place and highly recommend. Was visiting San Diego and ended up going back here multiple times. The burger was amazing and breakfast burrito was absolutely fantastic! Best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had! The owner is a super nice guy. If you’re in the area definitely check out this place. You won’t regret it!!!

Everything was so fresh. Huge portions. Loved the split pea soup and tuna fish sandwich. Next time I will try the BLT/avocado sandwich because a customer said it was good. Liked that they had unsweetened berry tea. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The potato salad was not to my taste so they brought me the beet salad with homemade Russian dressing which I liked. I highly recommend this restaurant which is a block away from the Santa Fe train station.

S
Sytonya Carrington

This place was fantastic!!! I split the corned beef reuben sandwich with my with a friend and we loved it. Cameron aka "Killer Cam" did it up right. He gave us a taste of his yummy chili and freshly cut fries. I will definitely be back. Thank you for a great experience.

A

Was able to visit due to an early downtown appointment. The proprietor 'Cameron' was very nice, and the breakfast burrito (the pullman-spicy) was excellent. He shared with me all the special quality efforts(and a taste of pastrami!!) he and the team do to provide great sandwch options. My only disappointment is that I don't live in the immediate neighborhood but will definitely be returning when options exist. Highly recommended for breakfast and special lunch sandiwiches.

A

I can't say enough great things about Carnivore Sandwich. This is hands down the best place to get a sandwich in San Diego! Every time we've gone, we've been blown away by the quality of each item. They somehow make each sandwich to die for. The restaurant is affordable and well worth a visit if you're looking for breakfast or lunch. Some of our favourites are the steak & eggs and nova lox sandwich. The beet salad side is excellent.

I never write reviews but i just had to. New owner is amazing! Can it get any better?! Take it from me, my passport has more stamps than i can count, been at delis in NY to 5 star spots in the furthest corners of the world.... this place is a must!!!!! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO!

Angel took our orders and she was very friendly & helpful. Our sandwiches were really yummy -fresh tasting. And the price is just right for the amount of food we got. Definitely be back!

I was in the Carnivore mood and happened on this very cool restaurant just a block across the street from the Santa Fe train station. I was really hungry and had the "Empire State"(pastrami, corn beef, turkey on rye etc), hard salami sandwich with split pea soup and potato salad. The soup for starters was the best I've had this year-piping hot, thick with peas and delicious. Both sandwiches were so huge; I had enough calories for another full day of eating. They were delicious and reminded me of my younger days at the classic Jewish Baltimore delis. It's great this east coast quality can be found on the west coast. The owner is hands on serving me being very courteous and fast. This is now my favorite deli sandwich shop in San Diego. Highly recommended.

This is hidden gem! Great spot for a quick, delicious sandwich. Easy to pop out of the office and quick walk. Can the owner was very welcoming and had great recommendations on what to get. But you can’t go wrong since I’ve had something different every time and always 10/10.

This might be the best sandwich shop in San Diego. We love the delicious sammich options and they have generous serving portions. Gotta try the Hangover Burrito!

I tried Carnivore for the first time today and it didn't disappoint. I had the Miss Angel Sandwich and added pastrami. All the veggies and meat were fresh. I could tell they use great quality items. The owner also cares about customer satisfaction and went to a great extent to make sure I was happy with my food. I will definitely come back and try more of their food.

Cameron is very welcoming. I'm a huge sandwich lover, but I opted for the boss burrito and it was fantastic. I recommend getting it with medium spice. My wife ordered the farm sandwich and WOW, IT IS AMAZING. FRESH FRESH FRESH!!! We highly recommend this place!

This place is freaking amazing! It's awesomely affordable! The breakfast is phenomenal, delicious stupendously, Amazingly good! I think I bit off three fingers trying to eat my sandwich this morning. The service was exceptional. The place is clean. Everything is priced phenomenally well! Best, breakfast downtown San Diego! Great great! Great service! All I can say is if you don't have breakfast here you're missing out and wasting your money.

I stumbled upon this restaurant and fell in love! The food was absolutely wonderful but the hospitality was even better. The owner, Cameron, made me feel so welcome and was funny, warm and inviting. We identified as fellow midwesterners. He made sure I had everything I ordered, and then some. I would 100% recommend this to anyone in San Diego. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for such a pleasant experience!

I found this little sandwich stop while having a pint at Stone Brewery. They had a crowd on their patio which is a great sign. I ordered the reuben and waited outside. It took a bit of time but oh man worth the wait. It was fantastic. The bread was toasted and crunch. I highly recommend Carnivore Sandwich shop. I'll be back soon to try another sandwich.

A

Great sandwiches with a Boston feel. Large meat portions but not unreasonable. Small seating indoors (I was here while it was raining) but the sandwich was worth it.

M

Every city needs a spot like Carnivore Deli--and downtown San Diego is lucky to have it. Cam and his team are the real deal: always welcoming, always friendly, and they know their regulars. There's something special about walking in and being greeted by name, like you're part of the place. As for the food? Not a single miss. The Steak Burrito is hands-down one of the best in town--flavorful, filling, and crave-worthy. The Big Apple Sandwich is a classic done right, the Reuben is bold and comforting, and don't sleep on the Pasta Salad--it's legit. You can tell every item on the menu has been crafted with care and intention. This isn't just a sandwich shop--it's a small business with soul. Cam's presence is felt in every detail, from the food to the service to the way he takes time to connect with his customers. If you're downtown and even remotely hungry, do yourself a favor: skip the chains and head straight to Carnivore. Support a business that shows up every day with heart. 5 stars, easy.

J

Wow, came here after a long drive and it’s amazing, great food. Cam is a legend with great food and vibe and hospitality.

S

I asked the owner Cam how the matzo ball is. His response was "Da Best!" After eating, I agreed. Better than any place in San Diego. I'll admit it's even better than the old La Jolla Deli SamSonS where we made over 200/ day. Great job Cam! 👏

Absolutely delicious. A true hidden gem of San Diego. The owner was awesome especially after finding out we are from Michigan as well. 10/10 highly recommend. Will be back!

This place is forsure a hidden gem. The layout of meat was what got me, it was on fresh bread and had an amazing flavor. The cashier dude/ sando artist was very helpful and enthusiastic. Potato salad was perfect and topped it off with a pickle on the side

Conveniently located in the center of downtown, this charming deli is run by an energetic and charismatic individual who brings electricity into the air whenever you visit. The food is simple but delicious and always prepared in a timely fashion (especially if you're a regular). This is one of my favorite spots to sit down and grab a bite in all of Downtown San Diego. Keep it up, community man!

M

Whether you're a tourist or local, you don't want to miss this deli experience! Be sure to meet Cameron, the owner. The menu is off the charts with delicious variety. You can enjoy dining in at the counter or the outdoor patio.

Growing up on the east coast and then moving to SoCal has a lot of perks except I miss the delis. Carnivore sandwich scratched that itch and climbs up to one of my favorite delis in my first go. The vibe, the menu, and the breakfast all day took me back to my happy place.

Everything you could ask for in a quality sandwich shop. I was in town for the weekend and went for lunch and breakfast but could have gone for every meal of the day. Great atmosphere and great food. Pictured - breakfast sandwich (bacon egg cheese avocado fresh red onions with chipotle salsa) breakfast burrito (roast beef hash browns egg and more - not 100% sure on all the ingredients but it was bangin)

This delicious deli is a spot I’d recommend you have to try! With a beautiful mix of tradition and culinary evolution, the owner & operator Cameron is working every day to ensure a delicious experience for everyone. It was very hard for me to decide what to try because all of it looked, and smelled, out of this world! But after I asked Cameron what he would suggest for a one and only opportunity to eat, he knew immediately what to start frying.. House cut French fries! Which he then stacked with corned beef, pastrami, cheese, and house made Russian dressing. And.. It. Was. Phenomenal!! Not only are the potatoes cut fresh every day and lightly seasoned to perfection, but he does a special frying process of taking them in and out of the oil while they cook. This process creates the perfect crispy & crunchy outside layer, but helps keep them soft and fluffy on the inside. These stacked French fries are a personal recipe of his because they stem from a childhood favorite meal, and you can tell he makes it today with the same love he felt back then. After hearing this back story, I wouldn’t have wanted to try anything else while I was there! I also got a small sample of their homemade chili which was classically simple but packed with flavor in every bite! Another recipe that Cameron takes the time to perfect every day, which definitely shows with a great balance of flavor and heat from the spices. It’s not too spicy though, just enough for you to feel! I actually picked up two deliveries from Carnivore to deliver to others before I got the chance to try it myself. But both times I was inside, Cameron made a point to be kind and welcoming which made me want to come back even more to try his spot! Good food is the baseline, great business culture & history brings it up a step, but genuine humans will always take the top spot on what makes a restaurant somewhere I want to go over and over again! Unfortunately for me, I was only in San Diego for a small amount of time and I didn’t try Carnivore until the end of my trip. However, I can guarantee that I will swing by every time I am in the city to get some amazing food and to see my new friend, Cameron! I highly encourage you to stop by and give this deli a try! And if my review here was the encouragement you needed to stop by, please tell them that The Nomadic Guide sent you! I would greatly appreciate it.

Fried egg sandwich was top notch and reasonably priced. Loved the Faygo and touch of home sign. You have to try the fries! Fresh cut, cooked to perfection, lightly salted and tasty! Cameron has done a nice job since taking over!

T
Tarin Kubiak

I happened to come across this spot by accident but it may have been the best decision I’ve made! After learning that it was my first time in his establishment Cameron took it upon himself to help make a decision. He let me sample the soup, chili, pastrami, corned beef and chicken salad! Honestly that made it harder to decide because every one of them was amazing. The corned beef and pastrami were delicious and savory and the chicken salad was one of the best I’ve ever had. The chili cheese fries were outstanding, and coming from Detroit, I know my fries! The fries were so fresh and perfectly seasoned. I LOVED the chili! The chunks of meat and peppers, along with the perfect bit of spice made all the difference! If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by! Your stomach will thank you, and Cameron will be your new best friend! I can’t wait to come back .

We discovered this little gem round the corner from our hotel in San Diego. Best sandwiches and burritos we ever had! The owner was super friendly and engaging, we are going back there every day we stay in San Diego!

SO DANG GOOD! Easy walk from union during our lunch break for jury duty. Pro Tip- order ahead as lunch time gets busy. Sandwich was delicious & worth the price. Nice beverage selection in the cooler too.

Clean and cozy place to get bite. I ordered the Caesar wrap and my bf got the buffalo chicken wrap. We were told up front that it will take about 15 mins for the buffalo. Not too bad. I see this place got a few bad reviews but I had a good experience. Definitely will be back on my trip since my family lives really close. I believe the owner was there and he was very attentive and talking with customers as well. I’m surprised I finished most of my wrap, the portions are generous!!!! Very delicious! Ill definitely come back and try something else

Found this place on accident ordered cams favorite and the sandwich was phenomenal! While eating Camron came out and said the sandwich was made wrong and said he’d make us another one for free just because. I highly recommend this place not only for the food but the amazing service! Thanks Camron you the best brotha

Best tasting deli sandwiches in San Diego hands down!!! Love this place, ask for Cameron when you walk in and use code “Q ROCK” for discount 😎

We were craving a sandwich and found this local place. Great gem of the San Diego food scene. We ordered the Italian sandwich and Country Club. Took the owner’s suggestions on a couple of tweaks and the sandwiches were incredible. The hand cut fries were amazing too. Cameron made us feel like we were his favorite customer. Next time we’re in San Diego, we will stop here again!

A little slice of the East Coast here in SD. Excellent food (the portions are generous with great pricing) and, more importantly, excellent service. Cameron and his crew are kind, expedient and accommodating. It's nice to start your day with a hello and a smile from them. Highly recommend this spot as their menu is available all day and the food always hits right.

I asked the owner Cam how the matzo ball is. His response was "Da Best!" After eating, I agreed. Better than any place in San Diego. I'll admit it's even better than the old La Jolla Deli SamSonS where we made over 200/ day. Great job Cam! 👏

Food quality is great, the portions are large, and the staff is very friendly. I would really like the food much better if they had put veggies on the sandwich I had. The Russian dressing was very good, but the sandwich was still a little dry. The cost of a large sandwich, a small side of potato salad, and a pickle set me back nearly $13. That is a little to pricey for me. I may just try a half sandwich next time.

S
Shawn

Pretty good sandwich and the staff was very nice. I do feel like the prices are a little high though. About $22 for a pastrami sandwich with fries and a drink

Their breakfast snadwich is pretty good. It had eggs, two cheeses, olives and avocado on a toasted rye. I didn't want bacon and instead they offered me an extra egg. Everything else on the nenu also looks good. I'll def be back to try more sandwiches.

Quick service. Prices ok. Freshly prepared. Found my sandwich a little dry but still good. Nice option for to-go lunch.

The Miss Alexa add turkey was amazing. The cucumber salad was tasty and the beet salad was too. It’s a little pricey - $20 for the sandwich, chips and a drink which is why 4-stars but they definitely packed the sandwich full. Cute outdoor patio too!

The meat was on point!! Needs more sauerkraut in my opinion, but I would definitely eat again. The beet/orange juice could use a spritz of lemon juice to cut through the earthiness, but the eagle definitely landed on the mango/ cantelope blend!!

Food: Italian Sandwich-Mortadella, Spicy Capicola, Hard Salami, Lettuce, Tomato, Pepperoncini, Oregano, Oil & Vinegar, Mayo, Provolone, On French Roll. Perfect to share if you want to have a lighter meal / if you don't you'll definitely be nice and stuffed! Service: The gentlemen (didn't catch his name) was very helpful and attentive. He recognized that my friend and I were sharing a sandwich, without having to ask he brought us separate plates and made sure we each had a pickle 🥒 😁 as well as, brought us his favorite drink! Atmosphere: no indoor seating, however, there is outdoor seating if you would like to enjoy your meal on a sunny day ☀️

Stopped here for a quick, light breakfast and coffee. Ordered the Avo sandwich. Two open faced wheat toast each with a fried egg and generous helping of sliced avocado. Also a small fresh fruit cup. Everything was tasty and fresh. The staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean but the bathroom was smelly and dirty. I'd come for the food again.

We stopped in for some coffee and breakfast before the big rally. The staff took care of us quickly and the food was surprisingly good. They even made a fresh pot of coffee for us. The prices were reasonable. There is both indoor and outdoor patio seating. The only negative thing I have to say is don't use the bathroom. The place is filthy and just plain stinks to high heaven. Come on guys, clean it up.

Best east coast style breakfast sandwiches that I’ve had so far in San Diego, you just need to ask for it! The guys in here are friendly, helpful and on it. Worth checking out if you live in the area.

Great sandwiches but 3 stars for not keeping their hours correct on their website/or Google. Walked 20 min to find they are closed when both says they open at 7. No hours posted on the door either so who really knows. If you happen by and they are open it’s worth the stop.

Very expensive sandwich shop. I got 'the boss' with a side and a drink, which cost me $16.65! I love pastrami but this sandwich was not that great. It looked like just slapping 2 slices of bread around a BUNCH of meat. If it wasn't for the price, I would come and try a different sandwich. But I sure wouldn't order this again. The staff was nice. There's a public restroom, and parking can be an issue considering it's downtown.

R

Clean and simple. East coast style sandwiches without many options. Food was good and well prepared, just not the massive size one might expect from a east coast style deli. I had pastrami on rye and a turkey club.

Coleslaw was decent, but the reuben was not good. Service was extremely slow with 4 employees and few customers. Edit after owner response: I was not in a hurry ... it took way too long to get our food. As for the reuben, it's one of my favorite sandwiches. I eat them all over the USA. I know what a good reuben is.

If you’re in a hurry and need a quick bite, don’t come here. Coney dog took 20-25 mins. They were also short on a lot of ingredients. Apathetic staff, not in rush though they should have been. Dog was okay, would have been better with all the ingredients piled on. I would go back and try again because most reviews are very good.

Okay I am not gonna lie, I did not like the guy’s style of speaking to the patrons. Annoying rubbish small talk questions, addressing me with “young man” (meaning that I am super old), but most importantly that he messed up the order. The cheeseburger that was promised within 10 min did not know of its existence. While in the meantime, I had downed the rather dry and underwhelming potato salad, no burger was conceived yet. Come into the picture the other staff folks who upon questioning did not even care about saying something like “how can I help you?” or “oh no, let me check for you” or so but only walked away and whispered something to the cashier. Only after some time, that annoying first guy realized that my order had not gone through (great: he at least remembered), and the thing was finally moving towards being born. And that was prolly the worst, 9 months or so waiting in anticipation of expecting something good from a 4.5 rated place, that thing was slippery, greasy, and flat in taste! Good thing it did not start screaming ’cause internally I did, full of regrets. Would not recommend! Overrated! (Originally posted by me on Yelp )

This place is pretty solid but last two times I have gotten the Cheesesteak they didn’t use sliced meat. Instead I got what looks like meat loaf and some cheese def not what a cheesesteak is suppose to be. Not sure if it’s new cooks or not but wasn’t as good as they use to be. Two stars given because it use to be way better.

Awe, what happened? I used to love this place. Now it's awful. Just brought home a Vienna all-beef hot dog on a stale dry bun. The potato salad on the side is now extra but is awful - maybe spoiled? That went in the trash. I also purchased a side of fruit. But the fruit was smooshy grapes, past its prime pineapple, and bad blueberries. Apparently the food quality went down since the new owners took over or they just don't turn their deli foods over quickly enough. No excuse to sell a customer food that is no good however.

So I came in because it had good ratings and the food looks pretty good and I thought the prices were good. I get in and see the Rubin is 14$. So I get it and it turns out to be 17$. I’m okay with it being $17 if I knew from the start but the bait and switch from 14 to 17 is messed up, I told the worker that your advertising a price that wrong and you should honor it and then change the price. But they didn’t do anything, like I’m hungry so I’m no gonna leave over a 20% price increase but I definitely won’t come back or recommend. Edit: in addition to terrible customer service the food is mediocre at best, $17 + for a single sandwich of mediocre quality as much as subway sucks at least I know what I’m getting for the price. Once again don’t spend you money here, your gonna get ripped off. At least fast food you know what your getting, don’t waste you time or money here.

Asked for extra stuffing and they said they only had enough for one sandwich. The amount of stuffing they put on the whole sandwich isn’t even enough for half. If they didn’t have enough to make one good sandwich they should’ve told me.
