Opinions de Extraordinary Desserts San Diego
Nice litte with good desert lunch menu is okay but the drinks and sweets are very good. I recommend a hot chocolate a la mode, my daughter got the lover girl pot of Tea and a grilled cheese which is really good. You should also try portobello cheese with crackers it is also delicious. And all the sweets are good.
If you are looking for an exceptional Dessert place then this is probably as exceptionally close you can get :) We’ve always enjoyed desserts at this location. You must try all of them! The customer service is great and the ambience is perfect for enjoying a nice dessert or a beverage after a hearty meal… Mmmmm delicious!!!
The desserts here are really extraordinary ! No doubt about it ! The cake slices we got were delicious, not too sweet and very unique in flavor. This place is definitely worth checking out if you're craving something sweet and delicious. You will not regret it !
Hits the spot everytime, been a loyal customer since 2013 👌 The ricotta cakes, lemon bar and gianduia are my favesss Awesome specials throughout the week!
I visited Extraordinary Desserts in San Diego and it truly lives up to its name. The moment you walk in, the display of cakes and pastries looks like an art gallery—beautifully crafted desserts decorated with fresh fruit and edible flowers. I tried a slice of cake and it was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced without being overly heavy. The presentation was stunning, and you can really tell the desserts are made with great attention to detail. The atmosphere is elegant but still relaxed, making it a great place to end the night with something sweet. Overall, it’s one of the best dessert spots in San Diego. If you love beautifully crafted pastries and indulgent treats, this place is absolutely worth visiting.
The only place I can find my favorite dessert — a banana cream pie. It’s become a tradition: every year on my birthday, I treat myself to a banana cream pie from Extraordinary Desserts. It’s the best. Like all their desserts, it’s almost too beautiful to eat. The individual size is perfect for one (or two if you’re willing to share), and it pairs so well with their espresso drinks. I love having a spot that’s open late where you can grab a dessert and a coffee. The pie is topped with gorgeous chocolate shavings and gold‑tipped edible flowers — truly a little work of art. I’ve also been here for lunch, and the Caesar dressing is amazing. They even sell it to go. Their menu has a wide selection of teas, coffee drinks, and even some wine. It’s the perfect place for a lunch meeting, a post–date night stop, or a cozy coffee hang.
Okay guys It’s been a while since I did a review This is one of the best places to have dessert 🧁 in SAN DIEGO SO FAR ! The atmosphere and the designs from each and every single dessert that they have it’s amazing the amount of detail they have it’s pretty impressive. The coffee 10/10 if you want a ”Nice Dessert 🧁” this is the right place for you .
This place was a great surprise. Recommended by some friends, we ought for takeout and enjoyed at home. Desserts were fantastic in taste and texture. Only thing that is with to mention is that service is somehow slow. It was not crowded yet it took around 25 min from arrival to receive our takeout order. Don’t miss this place, your heart will welcome you!!!
We come for the luxury cakes and exquisite desserts by the slice, but that’s not all that Extraordinary Desserts offers. They also have a large menu of savory sandwiches, espresso drinks and coffees, charcuterie, dips and an extensive variety of exotic tea leaves. The cakes are on rotation, so the wonderful Tiramisu Torte cake I enjoyed last time was unavailable this trip, but I bravely soldiered on and selected a slice of the Tres Leches cake and a slice of the decadent chocolate La Bete Noir. If you are feeling a hankering for something sweet after a nice dinner out, Extraordinary Dessert is a must stop.
Always a good place to get desserts. We wanted to buy everything! They look so pretty with the flower petals and icing. We settled into 4 different desserts and had it to-go. We were satisfied and happy with all of them. It's perfect with their coffee or tea. Service is fast and friendly. The restaurant is also very cozy, clean and spacious.
Best place for luxurious fine pastries and desserts. This has been a local staple for birthday cakes or just because. They adorn their desserts with fresh flowers and pretty aesthetics. But it’s not just pretty, it is delicious as well! I highly recommend coming in for some Balinese coffee and a pastry. My favorite??? Any of their danishes, cakes and brownie/cheesecake
We ordered four slices of different cakes for our afternoon tea time. If you're visiting San Diego, this dessert place is definitely worth a shot!👍👍👍👍 Parking at street. Metered parking is within 4 minutes walking distance. They serve alcoholic drinks, too. Make sure you don't drink and drive.☺️☺️ Service is awesome! The atmosphere inside of the store is very unique. And of course, seating is limited.
This is not the first time I've been to this place, and the desserts here are like a work of art. Incredibly beautiful presentation, large portions. Each piece of dessert is served very exquisitely. The desserts are always fresh and delicious. There is a large selection here, but sometimes in the evening you may not be able to buy your favorite dessert because they are quickly sold out 😍. I like the atmosphere here. Nice music plays not loudly. Lots of seats inside and outside. The staff is friendly and helpful. I had a matcha latte here before and it was good enough. Today I tried the carrot cake and it is very tasty. It was flavored with mango and caramel syrups. I recommend everyone to visit this place🩷
One of my friends who lives here, said that we had to come and visit this place! They had so many options to choose from, and we were able to find street parking. I had the black velvet cheesecake,…

A very delicious dessert stop in San Diego.\n\nSuper place for dessert people. You must must stop in and enjoy the different cakes, cookies, tea and coffee
We showed up at 8pm on a Saturday evening and they still had a line out the door with plenty of cakes left. Street parking wasn't too bad. Service was fast and nice with plenty of tables left. But …
First time visiting. This is the place that you go to for special occasions, just because, after a romantic date, or just looking for a luxurious dessert spot. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Nothing I have ever seen out of a dessert restaurant in all of San Diego. They are doing all the desserts with red rose petals (Which are not edible by the way trust me I’ve tried and it taste sour). They also have array of different desserts So you will definitely find something for you and yours there. I got the birthday Cookie and the twist on tiramisu. The birthday cookie was five out of five stars. It was one of the best birthday cookies I’ve ever had. But the tiramisu was not as good as I thought it would be; it was more whipped cream on top and soggy on the bottom. The birthday cookie was $7 And the tiramisu was $17. Overall, a good experience and I definitely recommend. I’ll be back to try other things.
Heaven for those with a sweet tooth. It’s on the pricier side but there is a plethora of desserts, from cakes to cookies to pastries. They have savory food too but my boyfriend and I just came for cake when we came. We tried the shangrila and the truffle framboise (so we had both white and dark chocolate). Both cakes were delicious and decadent - we had leftovers. I preferred the truffle framboise; it’s like the American version of sacher-torte. One cake can easily feed two to three people. You order and pay at the counter, and then they bring out your order. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We walked here but it looked like there was limited street parking. Credit cards accepted. They had a self-service water station. It’s a very popular spot but since we went before lunch (don’t judge) there wasn’t a wait.
Not what it used to be. I visited this dessert shop on 4th Avenue expecting something special, as it used to have a unique charm. While it looks like the business has expanded, the selection now feels limited and pretty standard—nothing really caught my attention or made me want to try it. The store feels a bit cold and empty, and there isn’t much in terms of service. The atmosphere is fine, but overall, the experience just didn’t leave much of an impression.
This has been a long time favorite but I hadn't been in years. It's always been a popular spot but, WOW! I loved they still have some old favorites w the same signature style that makes it a Krasne dessert. Still super pricey! I live the crispy chocolate chip cookie. Every chocolate dessert will be super rich. I, personally, also enjoy The Parisienne Danish. The custard in that is amazing! The desserts are all stunning to look at as well. Plenty of drink options. Offers sandwiches and salads. Outdoor seating. Parking will be hard. It will be busy

Updated review: Because I had such a wonderful experience the first two times I went here, I brought in guests and was disappointed. A feast for the eyes, yes. But the taste was terribly off. None of the fruits were ripe at all, instead they were super sour and hard as a rock. My son got the Pavlova and the mango was so sour and hard it ruined the entire dessert. The kiwi-lemonade was beyond sour- it was bitter and undrinkable. The berries on my scone were also sour and unripe. The entire experience and all four desserts were a terrible disappointment. It should be about flavors; seasonal, fresh, delicate, and sweet - not just about visual presentation. This visit was ONE STAR because all four, and the drink, and the tap water was just disgusting. Very disappointed when quality cannot be counted on. Original 5 star review: Extraordinary Desserts truly delivers! I had the strawberry scone, and it was absolutely delicious—flaky, buttery, and bursting with fresh strawberry flavor. The perfect balance of texture and sweetness. Beautiful presentation, great atmosphere, and an overall must-visit spot for dessert lovers!
Nothing special at all. The cakes look very beautiful, and the display looks nice. Basically, it's just a storefront with seating outside. I was surprised how comfortable the seating was, considering that it was all cement. My friends and I each ordered something different and shared. To me, the best thing I tasted was the coffee. The atmosphere was lacking, and the service was mediocre at best. Very expensive, not worth it. Parking is very challenging.

Extremely disappointing food and dismissive service — not worth the luxury price We really wanted to love Extraordinary Desserts and have visited twice now, hoping our first experience was just an off night. Unfortunately, the high price tag continues to feel disconnected from both the quality of the food and the level of service. On our first visit, we ordered the Pavlova, which was so hard and stale that we couldn't even cut through it with a knife. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, we returned and tried the Crème Brûlée Bun. It was even worse—the bread was dry and incredibly hard, as if it had been sitting out for three days. We had to carve out sections to eat from it. Honestly, the quality was lower than what you’d find at a budget grocery store. To make matters worse, the staff has a distinct attitude. Instead of the warm, high-end hospitality you expect at these prices, the service felt dismissive and cold. At $20+ per person , you expect a celebratory experience, but we left feeling like an inconvenience. We won't be returning. There are plenty of other high-end dessert spots that offer actual fresh food and a welcoming atmosphere.
Genuinely horrible price to performance ratio. Lemon bar ice cream felt synthetically lemon flavored. The cream inside the pastry was not oozing out, it was semi-solid/curdled, probably cooked a bit too far. The pastry was not flaky and layered; instead it crumbled into very small and thick chunks easily. The cherry chocolate chip cookie was not soft; literally subway can make better cookies. All of this on top of a price that is simply too high; i would be okay to pay these prices if the food was inventive and high quality. In fact, while the desserts with the petals look fancy, the petals are literally just petals and for instagram. Fine, keep the instagram worthy petals but at least give us good flaky pastry… sorry but truly awful.
