Hayes Burger

Classic Barrio Logan staple. Really liked the basic cheeseburger with the chile gueros. Ingredients are fresh, tasty, and savory. The animal style fries or Jimi fries as they are coined, are pretty tasty. Would return. Price point is a bit high, but I’d say every now and then it’s totally worth it. The art direction within the space is spontaneous and gives a street art style which is cool. I should mention the staff is great and relaxed, too.

Amazing delicious burgers and fries. They are both very juicy. Very soft bun. The only thing I don’t like is that the Thousand has a very strong pickle ish taste. Overall, very good food.

Very very good smash burger. Good service. The only issue is that both times I’ve come there was no line to order, there were open tables, and the wait was 30 mins. I hope they figure out that out.

Great atmosphere, good customer service and service was quick. Food was delicious and the the meat patty was juicy. The fries reminded me of the IN-N-OUT.

Best Burgers in San Diego? In my opinion YES! This is a must not miss place if you in town. This is a Local Business in the heart of Chicano Park In Logan so be ok with some Soul and Flavor. Parking can be tough but it's worth the hassle. Plus you might get to experience some of the soul of this place if you wander a bit.

Hayes Burger is something special. A modern, thin patty burger that's simple but packed with perfection. With only burgers and fries on the menu, you know they have had the time to perfect their food. That is what they've done. I can honestly say, this is my new favorite burger in San Diego. Well worth a stop.

Hayes Burger is a must! Whenever we’re craving a really amazing burger, we wish we could go to Hayes! The staff is always warm and friendly and the food is always incredible. We love their spicy ketchup too!

I went early, so there was not that many people there which was nice. I could park right in front. I like the retro vibe with a VHS TV and the burger was really good.

This unassuming joint has quite the following and has grown wildly popular, and both for good reasons. The menu is simple. The juicy burgers are smashed to perfection and fresh as can be. Their fries are perfectly crunchy and seasoned. Their soft and cushy buns are what separate them from similar burgers in SD (like The Friendly). However, expect a 20+ minute wait for your order on busier days. Seating is limited. Their Jimi fries are a fun take on In N Out’s Animal Style.

This is a top tier San Diego burger. It’s a little on the high side but the quality is absolutely there. Takes a bit to cook and come out but I don’t mind waiting for good food! I’m also not a 1,000 island guy and their homemade stuff is GAS.

Nice place for burgers and fries. I really enjoyed it and would come back! You can take your order to go or dine in, some seating available inside and outside.

Delish! We enjoyed double cheeseburgers at the Logan Avenue location today. So fresh and tasty. Alex was very attentive & kind with personalized service. We chose to concentrate our taste buds on cheeseburger which were quite filling, but encouraged to try the fries next time. And there will be a next time soon. Two types of catsup bottles brought to sidewalk tables. The spicy catsup was flavorful and will be delicious with the fries. Top San Diego burger recommendation! Beautiful views of magnificent Chicano Park Murals.

One of the better burgers I’ve had in San Diego. Fresh bun, tender paddy, and delicious sawce. Got the Jimi fries and those were also total dankness. Staff is super friendly and efficient and prices are more than reasonable. 🏆

Most delicious satisfying burgers. Meal complete with great fries & spicy ketchup, and of course a nice cold beer. Husband and I have been here several times and food is always excellent. Enjoy!

The burger was flavorful, structured pretty well, with a decent sized patty. They also have these cool mushroom chairs up front and has extra seatings on the side near the freeway.

Stopped by Hayes Burger last night and loved it. Hayes is a small business that deserves more attention in my opinion. A helpful young man helped us right as we walked in. They have a simple menu of cheeseburgers or grilled cheese and fries. The burgers are absolutely delicious and, as the menu says, smashed to perfection. Fries are crispy and delicious and you can have them with regular or spicy ketchup. Hayes has a few stools and countertop inside and several tables available outside to eat at. Parking is strictly on the street and can be somewhat difficult at times. I highly recommend trying them and am looking forward to going back soon.

I know some of you will Say (T.G.D.M.) but believe me is very well worth it 👌 the burgers are so soft they practically melt in your mouth 😋 ☺️ the fries are so full of flavor I couldn't stop eating them 😋 and I dint want to stop. Since I'm from Los Angeles I can't come here often but I will make this my to go place anytime I'm in the area.

I’m a fan of smashed burgers. We order the doble cheese one, it’s absolutely delicious. The only this that I’d take away next time is that I think they use a mayo with some spicy in it. For people who like 🌶️ probably you’ll love it. I stick with the original flavor. But it was interesting to try. Wow!!!! You need to try this place. The burgers are everything you’ve ever dreamed of. The buns, soft and buttery but not chewy 😍 The patty is soft and almost melts and crumbles in your mouth. It has thousand island, fresh lettuce and tomatoes. The fries taste amazing. Skip In n out, come here instead. This place has to be making one of the best burgers in San Diego! Simple menu, make you think they have it dialed in and they definitely deliver a tasty burger. Come check them out if you want an Excellent Burger. Bravo.

My husband and I fell in love with this place!Jose the owner, and even the other guests, made the experience so memorable. The art on the walls was engaging. The atmosphere was homey and friendly. Workers' attention to detail wasn't very good...burger (great bun) and fries were excellent! Nice indoor place & patio area. - Requested extra tomatoe: No. - Requested extra burger sauce: No. - Requested grilled & regular onions: Yes. - Requested spicy ketchup for fries: No (had to re-ask for it after the food came). - Bought a water: No -- but they remembered it after food came.

In -n- Out who?! This place is legit!! The jimi fries are soo good and cheesy, and it doesn't harden! The burger meat had flavor! It is a little greasy though, but totally worth it. Menu is small but to the point. Seating and parking is limited but it's a nice walk. Definitely going back.

Great burger but very overpriced, and the staff hates you. $25 for a cheeseburger, small fries, and soda. You can get that at Chicago Fire Grill for $10

Ordered a double cheeseburger and fries. The food was all tasty, but the burger patty didn’t have much crispiness. I also thought $15 for the double cheeseburger was on the pricey side since it’s a pretty simple burger. A minor thing, but it was also a little frustrating that the drink options didn’t match what was on the menu.

Definitely has the Barrio Logan feel when you see the exterior and inside it has a lot of 90's nicknacks which build it's unique character. For food I ordered a Cheeseburger (lettuce, tomato, grilled onion, house 1000 island) and Jimi Fries (American Cheese, House 1000 Island and grilled onion). The things I enjoyed the most was the Grilled Onion's. Overall this goes toe to toe with In-N-Out and this place is fantastic. A bit pricey but nice to support local businesses.
