Cool corner place, I wasn't looking to eat but the menu looked great so I ordered Hawaiian fried rice and I wasn't disappointed, I will go again

Wanted to try the place that took over So saap and Im so glad I did! This is a convenient location for me right off the freeway when I need my lao food fix. Today I ordered the supreme papaya salad which comes with vermicelli noodles. I also ordered nam khao, pad Thai, and khao piak sen. Everything was good and I can’t wait to come back and try other dishes. I ordered online and it texted me to let me know my food was ready. (Appreciated that as I hate going in just to wait) Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I believe they’re in their soft opening phase but please give them a try if you get a chance!

No frills just really good food, your hole in the wall restaurant. One of the best pad Thais I’ve had, the noodles were saucy and bouncy. Service was quick, appears to receive more to go orders. I would go back and I’d feel comfortable enough to eat alone there (during the day)! The area outside seemed a little questionable. Lots of parking available. Their sugarcane juice was soo good clean and refreshing . Really appreciated the guy for using good hygiene for food handling *did not ask about Celiac/gf accomodations

That was the best mango chicken I've ever had!! The chicken is so nice and crispy. I got it to go, but I definitely want to come back. The price is reasonable and the portion is perfect! This is my go to thai and Lao food from now on 😊

The Thai Ice tea was incredible! They have fresh sugar cane a d a machine to juice it too. The golden chicken wings were absolutely delicious and just like in Southeast Asia, very authentic. I will be back!

What a hole in the wall, I saw the reviews and I wanted to try the food. It looks delicious. I almost missed the turn with my GPS, it’s a little hidden. At first I thought it was closed and I was about to change my mind, but the open light sign was on. The servers were very attentive. The food very tasty. 😋 I definitely recommend trying it.

Kin Saep is legit the best Thai food in town! We went on vacation for 9 days in San Diego. I had pork belly plate, and my fiancée enjoyed some pad Thai with crispy chicken. Portions are large, prices are very affordable. We were left with full stomachs and a large amount of leftovers for the next day! Would highly recommend! The owner is a lovely sweet mother who named the restaurant after her son. Also the sugarcane drink was delicious!

The food here is super legit! High quality Thai food that tatses like home cooking. They even have some dishes not many other Thai restaurants typically offer in SD and I recommend trying various dishes you may have not tried before. Amazing vegetarian options that don't skimp out in flavor and are just as delicious as meat dishes! Reasonable prices, generous portions, and quick and friendly service.

i knew we were in for a flavor explosion when the shrimp paste came out with the veggies for the pho. the lao pho is savory, sweet and addicting all at once. slurped down all the broth and was not hella thirsty like at other pho places which use hella msg. the lao sausages are herby and juicy however it doesn’t include sticky rice. the thai boat noodles were perfectly balanced and did not have the overly star anise flavor. will need to return to try their nam khao and all the other noodles!

First time ordering from Kin Saep which is down the street from work. Had the shrimp spring rolls and tom kha soup with chicken. Decent portions. Very fresh. Very tasty 😋 this is a tiny little bit of local eatery in an unassuming area. Just my humble opinion but it’s delicious so I will be back.

Friendly ppl, great food! The location is not necessarily the most desirable, but if you look past that, you'll have a great meal. The people who work here look Thai, which is always a good sign for a Thai restaurant :) they do have a bathroom at the back which they will graciously show you.

This place was formerly So Saep and now under new name and ownership. Max occupancy for this place is 18. It was the Lao Pho that caught our eye since the other known place that we know serve this dish is in OC. We got Lao pho, Crab fried rice, Fried chicken wing, Chicken satay and Panang curry. For drinks we got Thai tea which was sweeter than my liking. The cococane was refreshing and naturally sweet. Fresh sugar cane with real slices of coconut. We came during lunch and the service was super quick and everything tasted delicious. In and out within one hour. The chicken satay is on the dry side but dipping in the peanut sauce made it better. The curry was a level 6 spice but it was not spicy and my tolerance is low. My new favorite place for crab friend rice. Lao pho tasted like viet pho and even better than some viet pho places. Overall, we will for sure come back for the other dishes.

However, this most recent order was extremely disappointing. I ordered through DoorDash and everything arrived properly sealed. I ordered several items, including Thai teas and red curry. Once I got home and transferred the food into a clean bowl, I noticed a small beetle-like bug in the red curry when I poured it over the rice. At first, I thought it was a pepper, but then I saw the small legs and was completely disgusted. I immediately lost my appetite and had to throw the entire meal away. This is not something I’ve ever experienced here before, which makes it even more upsetting. I’ve always held this place in high regard, so this experience was really unfortunate and disappointing.
