We happened to be in the area. We decided to try PT Vietnamese by coincidence. It was awesome - very clean restaurant, social distancing sitting, food was better than most pho places. Pho soup noodles had a flavorful broth not watered down, noodles plentiful in the soup. Broken rice chicken had a nice hint of lime or lemon grass. Spring rolls with shrimp and separately, spring rolls with warm chicken was a delight. Would definitely go back in a heart beat.
Our server and staff are always very outstanding at PT Eatery! Very attentive to our table even though we had a very large party. All their food is outstanding, and always hot and delicious. The Pho is very good and wait time is short ~ EVEN for such a large group as ours! This is "one" of our go to places for our large family parties when we are craving Pho and great Vietnamese themed dishes!
Love this place so much! Gets busy fast so go earlier than later. Fast service when it was slow. The food was amazing, delicious. I got the wonton soup and the kalbi rice plate, boba thai tea and jasmine tea. The boba thai tea was the only disappointment, more milk than tea, rather bland. The jasmine tea was perfect. My new favorite spot.
The only place I’ll eat pho. The broth comes out flavorful every single time and the meats are really great quality. The customer service is really awesome too! Sometimes at night it can get busy, but it’s definitely worth the wait! And if you ever get a chance, order their chicken wings you won’t regret it!
I ordered th ox tail pho it was delicious. The waiters were very nice and they were patient with my while I weighed out my options of what to order. I usually get the rare steak, but I decided to try something new and got the oxtail pho. It was good. The meet was fall off the bone and the broth was very good too. This is my favorite place to get pho. Go try it, it's good. This is a place that the food always makes my heart happy.
Fantastic home style vietnamese restaurant. Please call ahead to reserve your fried catfish. Its fantastic for large groups, family dinner get together. Service is fast, vegetables are fresh and crisp, they also have beer and wine by the bottle or glass. Or bring your own and pay a small corkage fee. We absolutely feasted. And this photo was only taken after 10 minutes. At the end of the meal the fish was picked clean!
This place is GREAT. They make the best food. Everything on the menu is to die for. I've all ways have gone to the big restraunt on Convoy for many years. PT has TV with sports on an good beer to drink. The appetizer are really good. This place is a must go an enjoy some great Asian food. I'll see you there!
Parking: Plenty of plaza parking Ambience: Welcoming Service: The staffs were very personable and welcoming. Food: I ordered the egg rolls as an appetizer and extra large Phở as main course. The Egg rolls there are the best ones I’ve had at a dine in restaurant so far. The Phở broth was a little sweeter than most places I’ve had it which made it a little better but the lack of meat on an extra large bowl brought my rating back down. Overall: The service and welcoming environment made the visit a pleasant one. The food flavors are definitely a plus for the restaurant. The price is a little more than what I’m used to paying but on the bright side they support service members with a 10% Military Discount which is a big plus.
This is probably my favorite vietnamese restaurant in San Diego. No matter what I order , I always get some spring rolls with it. They are fantastic!
I am visiting from Austin & this restaurant was recommended to me. I wasn’t even hungry when friends & I got there for lunch but I ordered the lemongrass tofu dish & I was very surprised that it was likely the best tofu dish I have had in 35 yrs of being vegetarian (last 5 yrs plant based). It was crispy on the outside but soft & airy on the inside with super delicious sauce & seasoning. My dish was also generous, a heap of tofu chunks that I could make into 2 more meals. My friends also loved their egg rolls & soup dishes.
I absolutely love this place. If I lived closer I would go once a week, but I live in Anaheim. I had the traditional beef stew and it was spot on.
Everyone was really nice and the pho was seriously the best I’ve ever had!
The food was rich and flavorful, with a broth that tasted like.It had been simmering for hours.I also had the egg rolls and spring rolls both were fantastic. My plan on going again.
Ate here last week and enjoyed the best wings I've ever had! Mike the owner was super friendly and visited with me while the food was being prepared. Can't recommend this spot highly enough!
My first time trying the 2 varities of their chicken wings. We preferred the glazed wings as oppose to the garlic butter. Well paired with the fried rice. The shrimp and pork Banh Noi is my go to here.
Delicious pho at PT Eatery near Convoy Street! We really enjoyed our beef short rib pho and seafood pho, the flavors were great. Bottles of wine are relatively affordable and great tasting; we enjoyed the La Crema Chardonnay. Efficient and quick service. Recommend!
PT Eatery is a casual, laid-back spot serving classic Vietnamese favorites like pho, fresh rolls, and rice plates. I ordered the house special broken rice dish, which felt like a sampler plate. It came with shredded pork, steamed egg meatloaf, ground shrimp, and rice, along with a choice of protein (pork patty, pork chop, beef, or chicken). I went with the chicken. My wife had the beef short rib pho. Both dishes were flavorful and well-prepared overall. The broth in the pho was rich, and the short rib was tender. My plate was satisfying, though the chicken was unfortunately overcooked and came out dry, and the shredded pork was a bit tough to chew. Despite that, it was still a great experience. The service was solid, and the variety on the menu makes me want to come back and try other dishes. It seems like PT Eatery has been around for quite a while and I can see why.
I was handsomely impressed by PT Eatery. Every dish came out better than expected. I think the staff here are perfectionists. I definitely have standards with food but they exceeded my standards.
Amazing place for a delicious Vietnamese meal!! We saw this place multiple times and finally got to try it because we had to charge our car in that parking lot. This place is surprisingly delicious. I had something I never had before, it is coconut milk rice noodles. Wow! It is tooooooo good to describe. I just suggest everyone to try it out if you like coconut. My husband had a big bone pho with adding noodles. The bone looked spectacular, and it carried a lot of meat on it. I highly recommend this place!
As a vietnamese person, this is one of our favorite spots to eat at! You can't go wrong with any of the dishes, but I like getting the bùn thịt nướng chả giờ (pork vermicelli noodles and egg rolls). Their fried chicken wings are the best in town, get both kinds every time. So good. The workers are nice and they have great seating, you can usually get a table right away or without a terribly long wait. One thing they did once was forget my dish that I ordered completely, but since I was eating family style it wasn't a big deal, I was just a little disappointed. Overall 10/10.
We basically ordered the entire menu.... Egg rolls Ribs Chicken Wings Fried Rice Boba Tea Soup Orange Chicken My top 3 favorites would be the egg rolls, chicken wings and orange chicken! This was my first experience here and it was amazing! All the food was delicious and beautiful. And tasted good as leftovers as well. Definitely EAT HERE! 🤤
This place is awesome! Had the Knuckle Bone Pho. OMG, so good and filling! And the Iced Coffee Boba was so good, too. My daughter's combo Pho was excellent, too! And the egg rolls were so fresh and crispy! Wish I lived here; I'd eat here regularly!
Very good tofu Bahn Mi! I ordered with a side of broth for the “dip” effect. Very well seasoned tofu and some fantastic pho broth.
My parents generation was Phuong Trang which still exist until this day. While PT Eatery is my generation that’s like the quick modern simplified version of Phuong Trang while keeping all the quality of foods the same. The menu is all in English with no Vietnamese translation. Traditional seven course beef is not offered at this eatery and neither were the fried fish or exotic dishes that you’re used to at the original Phuong Trang. What to expect at PT Eatery are the basic categories like rice, vermicelli noodles, pho, vegetarian, meat, sandwiches, and appetizers. We got pho, vermicelli grilled pork with egg rolls, garlic butter ribs and garlic butter wings, wrapped grilled shrimp (banh hoi). My favorite were the garlic butter ribs because they were deep fried and the batter was crunchy delicious. The wings were the same fried battered but the ribs were 10x better because it was different. I normally get egg rolls as an appetizer but decided to get it with the vermicelli noodles along with char grilled pork. The pork was very tasty, it was thin flat rectangle shaped. The portion was huge and I only ate half. The grilled shrimp wrapped in lettuce looks familiar because it’s the shrimp that you get at dim sum wrapped around a sugar cane. The banh hoi is like weaved vermicelli noodles. All the staff wore masks. No dine in available but the interior is being remodeled with new hand painted murals based on real life photos from the owner’s visit to Vietnam.
They say that you can’t get all three out of Healthy, fast and budget friendly, apparently this hypothesis does not fit this decent Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered big beef rib pho, which comes in 2 big ribs, and pho along with the usual, been sprouts and lemon. The soup is better than most other competitors, because they did nice fat control, the oil floating on the soup surface is visually less than those offered by other pleases. The beef ribs are exactly what I was expecting, flavor rich and big portion. If you ask me what happiness is, I might know the answer now. Image having this in a cold winter. I have been to many Vietnamese restaurants, they often have hygiene issues, but not this one. The interior is wide and clean. Lots of parking because it’s in a plaza, not down town. I will visit again, the meal was under 20 bucks by the way.
Second visit, ordered Pho with rolls this time and did not disappoint. Tastes amazing, 6/5 stars. I ordered for take out, it was quick, nice service and the food is just amazing. Still new in town so don't know many other places but this one will be on my top 10 list for sure.

Spacious place to eat, food is amazing. Although they lack in attentiveness when it comes to placing orders etc. There was literally 2 waitress available on a busy schedule. Broken Rice dishes is one of my faves from this place.

PT Eatery is a sister Vietnamese restaurant of Phuong Trang Restaurant. We came to PT Eatery on a Tuesday evening because Phuong Trang is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. There were plenty of parking spaces available. There’s an EV charging station conveniently housed on the same parking lot. We got seated immediately and ordered a combo beef extra large pho with rice noodles, rare steaks, cooked brisket, beef tendon, flank and tripe; char grilled shrimp salad with green papaya, celery, cucumber, carrots, topped with shrimps, fresh mint and crushed peanuts and coconut thick rice noodle bowl with char grilled chicken, shredded lettuce, beans sprout, fresh mint, cucumber, peanuts served with coconut milk and fish sauce on the side. We loved the delicious Vietnamese food with very fresh ingredients. Portions were generous and reasonably priced. Waitstaff was attentive and got a good team system established. Relaxing atmosphere to eat here and hang out with families and friends. Ample seatings and can accommodate a large group of people.
Fresh shrimp spring rolls are a great healthy starter. You cannot go wrong with any of the pho bowls.
The food was okay overall — nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. Unfortunately, the service felt a bit off. The staff didn’t smile or seem very welcoming, which made the atmosphere feel slightly uncomfortable. Not a terrible experience, but it didn’t feel especially warm or inviting. Hopefully the service improves, as that would make a big difference.
We found this 2nd location through a sign on the door of their first location wc was closed on Mondays & Tuesdays Phuong Trang Vietnamese Cuisine. A wonderful smile greeted us, as the lady server handed us the menus. I ordered the House Special Pho and my hubby got the Seafood Pho. I also ordered the Shrimp Salad Roll for an appetizers and it was tasty and well made. Our Pho arrived shortly and it was piping hot as I expected. A bit on the "salty" side but we were very hungry and continued to enjoy it. Had plenty of meats and veggies in it. I couldn't finish mine so I requested for a to-go box. This lunch was quite enjoyable, except, I had a taste for the Lumpia (eggroll) and our Server was very apologetic as supply was nil. We liked their service and will be back in another week.
Got two Broken Rice dishes, one with a Pork Chop and the other with Beef. They were good.

We came here for early dinner on Sat & got seated right away. The food is decent, however most of their utensils & dipping condiments are either in the package to-go or in plastic one-time use. It's minus point to dine in at the restaurant. It makes me feel like I'm eating to-go food.
Food is good, but for the party of two one was served and the other one was waiting another for another 15+ mins for the dish.
12-19-22 Ordered: 3/5 -Wonton Soup $15.50 — was not hot. Sent back to re-heat. Wonton meat was flavorful. -Wings $11.50 — crispy, yummy with garlic aroma. -Pho Lg $11.95 -Pho $10.95 — tasty. -Pho Dip $10.95 — meat was fatty and tender. Bread was soft in the inside and enough crunch on the outside. My son liked what he ordered. Drinks: -Ice Espresso $4.95 -Sculpin $4.95 -Chocolate Milk $1.95 Service: 3/5 Was ok. Wasn’t a busy night, but a little difficult to get good service. Kept my hand up to get attention from servers, took a few minutes for the manager to notice. He waved at the staff. He thought she was walking over to help me, but she was attending to the other table. I attempted the 2nd time, got my help. Plenty of staff but mainly they stayed behind the counter. Also, the food took a while to come out.

Food's good (tried pho, vermicelli, egg rolls, broken rice plates). All clean and flavorful Issue is that they've been understaffed every time I come here. Seats are empty but you'll be sitting there for a while before anyone comes to take your order

Food was ok. I order eggs roll for appetizers and Bun Bo Hue for my main course. They bring out my main course Bun Bo Hue Soup first i ask where my egg roll he say it take awhile i was like wth. Then i finish my main course and still no egg roll went pay i ask you didnt bring me any egg roll i order. Then charger me for it and then bring it out lol. And act like nothing they did was wrong lol.
Please note, we dined at this restaurant at noon on 6/14/2025 and ordered a grilled fish, but when we checked out, they listed two fish on the bill and charged us $100 more. Since the 20% tip is automatically added to the bill, we checked the bill after payment and found that $100 was overcharged. After negotiation, the restaurant refunded $100 and did not return the $20 tip to us. Please pay special attention to the bill when dining at this restaurant
We waited forever (20 minutes) for someone to acknowledge us and then were served by someone that didn’t even look at us. Just grunted. The place was a mess. Half the tables had half-eaten food on them and they stayed that way throughout our visit. Servers rude and dismissive and food was just OK. Won’t be back!
This was hands down the worst Vietnamese dining experience I’ve had, made even worse by the customer service. From the moment we sat down to the moment we left, we were barely and reluctantly acknowledged. There was no greeting, no check-ins, no water refills, nothing. We waited over 20 minutes just to place our order, and it genuinely felt like we didn’t exist. The food itself was atrocious. It was bland, served cold, and to make matters worse, the utensils were visibly dirty. The most unbelievable part: we asked for an extra bowl so we could share food with our 2-year-old child and were told they had run out of clean bowls. This was a Thursday night at 6:30 PM, with the restaurant less than half full. Let that sink in. Between the lack of acknowledgment, dismissive attitude, and overall experience, this place left a terrible impression. There are far better Vietnamese restaurants that respect their customers and can handle the bare minimum. I won’t be returning.
We came as a party of five with a reservation and even preordered the crispy catfish 1 hr ahead, hoping for a smooth dinner. Instead, we walked into a completely disorganized situation. There was no host, no greeting, and no one to seat us. The staff looked overwhelmed and the restaurant seemed very understaffed. Even with the preorder, our food took far too long to come out. When the catfish finally arrived, it was bland, unseasoned, and definitely not worth the price. For a dish that is supposed to be a specialty, it was a huge disappointment. Overall, the service, timing, and food quality were all below expectations. I would not return.
