Amazing space! Perfect for remote work and studying with the ample space. However do not expect a quiet space since it is a public cafe :) haha Highly recommend for the vibes. Especially amazing for friends to get together. 6 circular small tables for the benches along the wall. 3 triangle designer tables with 2-3 chairs. 1 large kitchen table by piano. And a giant picnic bench with lots of seating. Plugs all along the wall. 3 outlets from what i can see. Dont let that deter you. They just did renovations too!! They opened last week end of May/beginning of June. Took them an entire year to prep this place. Jery the owner (middle aged? guy with the beanie swag) is super nice and his family is awesome. They offer a great selection of high quality single origin beans. Surprisingly enough you get to choose for your espresso ($3.50 at this time subject to change). Very happy to meet them. The music is amazing. They’re from Thailand 🇹🇭 🙌🫶 Thanks again Jery and family! -george/geo

The matcha drinks here are phenomenal! I've been multiple times and all the drinks I've got have been amazing. Love this place! The service is wonderful too.

Cool space. Interior design is top notch. Thai owned. Loved it. So many options to choose from for coffee, sourced from Stereoscope in LA. Speciality coffee has a future here.

✨Love this white mustache latte! It’s highlight of my visit. From the first sip, it was clear that this latte was something special. The balance between the rich espresso and the perfectly cream form top was impeccable. The latte had a velvety texture that was incredibly smooth, making each sip a pleasure 😋

Even with the long line, it was an overall great experience. I purchased the Thai tea latte and the garlic cream cheese bagel. Both tasted great and were definitely worth the hype and long wait. The staff was working fast, and the cashier did her best to try and describe things though her English skills were a tad green, but so friendly! Only minor downside is the lack of seating even with the large space. But that’s due to the quality of their products. Check it out.

So buzzed walking out of here. What an amazing coffee experience! I had the Harvest Moon coffee with sesame foam and pistachios, as well as the Keep Thai tea with their signature whipped topping. Very unique drinks that were extremely tasty!

Finding this place was a MISTAKE when you’re trying to quit coffee 😔✋ This place adds a uniqueness to creating coffee and I’m HERE for THAT. Loved the Black Sesame I got, definitely craving it again! 🖤

Ordered a keep latte with oat milk and an extra shot, cost $10.00 before taxes and tips. It was understaffed at the time but the baristas put a lot of love and meticulous effort into making each coffee and the latte was not too sweet which I liked.

I came to The Keep looking for 'Summer'. Tbh, It was difficult to find a place to make espresso with orange juice. It sounds strange, But in Thailand, it's pretty normal and easy to find! 'Summer' is my favorite, and it matches perfectly with hot weather like this. I arrived pretty late in the afternoon, So I missed out on trying the garlic cream cheese, but I'll definitely try it next time!

The Keep Coffee in Kearny Mesa is a hidden gem! Their unique drinks, like the Summer (espresso and orange juice) and the Thai tea latte with cold foam, are incredibly refreshing and delicious. The ambiance is laid-back, and the staff is super friendly. Don’t miss out on their cream cheese bun—it’s absolutely divine. Highly recommended! 😊

Stopped here quickly for a coffee and matcha. I got the cold brew which was good and didn't need any creamer added to it, and the matcha presentation was great and tasted amazing too! The coffe shop itself is pretty minimal, but it offered a lot of space with friendly staff, if you wanted to enjoy your drink there.

A
Aranza Herrera

The matcha was good, but just a heads-up if you're sensitive to lactose—the whipped cream is rich. While the texture was nice, I wasn’t a big fan of the flavor. It would be great if they offered different whipped cream flavors for variety. I went on the weekend, and it was a bit too crowded to fully enjoy the space, so I’ll definitely try coming back on a weekday for a more relaxed vibe.

My first time I got the black sesame and salted caramel latte. To be honest, I didn’t realize it had salted caramel in it and thought it was too much happening inside. My second time I got an americano with black sesame foam which was a perfect balance of coffee and sweetness. The Original Keep latte was just okay to me but my sisters really likes it. The cream cheese bun was delicious but oddly sweet. We thought it was going to be more of a savory flavor so just a heads up! The butter croissant was also flaky and yummy. I would get the croissant again. Parking lot is not the greatest but I guess that’s to be expected in this area.

Keep Coffee is a must-visit for coffee lovers! Their drinks are absolutely amazing, boasting a perfect foamy texture and tons of flavor in every sip. I was particularly impressed with their lattes. I tried the black sesame espresso with salted caramel, and omg, these flavors pairs so well. Im not a big salted caramel fan, but this tastes amazing. My mom tried the thai tea, and she really liked it. Beyond the coffee, their pastries are equally delicious. We tried a cheese danish and a blueberry scone, and each one was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly baked. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to relax or catch up with friends. If you're looking for a place with exceptional coffee and tasty treats, Keep Coffee is the place to go!

The Keep Coffee is an excellent spot for morning work, study, or a casual coffee chat. They serve a great selection of drinks and bakery items, with their Keep Latte standing out as a signature must-try. This drink, made with three shots of espresso, is topped with a creamy layer and sprinkled with tiramisu powder, offering a rich and layered flavor experience. I also enjoyed their Garlic Bread with Cream Cheese, though it takes a little longer to prepare. The contrast of its crispy exterior and creamy interior pairs perfectly with a cup of coffee. Another highlight is the Vanilla Basque Cheesecake, which is rich and smooth—a perfect companion to the bold flavors of a dark coffee. The shop’s modern décor features wall art, wooden chairs, and a piano, creating a relaxing and chill ambiance. Whether you're here to unwind or catch up with friends, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The Keep Coffee is a wonderful place to start your day or enjoy a leisurely coffee break.

We’d heard great things about this place and decided to give it a try, so glad we did. We ordered the Keep Matcha and the Keep Latte (without syrup), and both tasted incredibly fresh, vibrant, and fun. You can really tell they care about the quality of their ingredients and how the drinks are crafted. The place has a great vibe going, and it’s clear they’re serving their customers really well. It’s a bit on the pricier side, though. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a quality coffee experience.

A creamy coffee lovers dream! The coffee looks like it will be too sweet but it isn’t. I had the Keep Latte and it was creamy, good coffee flavor and not sweet at all. My only complaint is that there wasn’t enough of it! I also had the garlic cream cheese bun and it’s worth the hype. Also creamy but not too heavy and the sweet bun balances well with the savory garlicky cream cheese. The bun was also chewy on the inside but a little crispy in the outside. Perfection.

Keep Matcha, Dirty, and Cream Cheese Garlic Bun are all very good. The ambiance is unique and cute. But this place is a little bit pricy.

The garlic cream cheese melts in your mouth, definitely recommend. Matcha was great quality and blended well with their cream (not too sweet and perfectly fluffy)! Parking is a little tight Didn’t have a hard time finding a seat but I could see that being an issue during peak hours~

I flew in from Seattle and Keep Coffee Shop was one of my first stops here. I like to try new places and saw that they were a newly opened shop, having been only opened for one week. I was really impressed with their coffee, my friend got their signature coffee and enjoyed it too. Their whipped cream complimented the coffee well, which helped enhanced the coffee flavor. The only thing is I would recommend is to come early! Most of their baked goods were sold out before we went in, but we did get the chance to their basque cheesecake which went really well with the coffee. The owners who run the place are nice and were very accommodating. I even asked if they would open up a branch in Seattle. I will definitely stop by again whenever I am in San Diego. Overall a wonderful experience and highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Keep Coffee has a spacious, modern, and clean vibe—very comfortable. As a black sesame fan, I tried the Harvest Moon, and it was incredible! The coffee was rich and perfectly balanced with black sesame and a touch of pistachio. Their beans, sourced from regions like Guatemala and Brazil, are freshly ground, adding to the quality. At $8 with oat milk, it’s a bit pricey but worth it for the flavor. Next time, I’ll definitely try their matcha!

I love coffee shops with this kind of ambiance. The menu is small, with less than 10 options on it, but the place is beautiful, open, and filled with life. It’s a wonderful spot to bring some work and spend some time - either alone or with friends! I spent $9.70 on my drink. There are seats that are accommodating to people of all sizes. I’m a plus size person and was able to find comfortable seating for both singular chairs and on open-ended seating. I could comfortably spend time here. Staff was friendly and when ordering, they had an iPad with beautiful visuals of each food and drink option, with a description of each. It was very accommodating and helpful! My drink is so sweet and delicious! I’ve never had anything like it and will certainly be craving it in the future. I hope others come and try it! I didn’t see any flyers announcing local groups or events, but I can see this being a really cute event space for small gatherings and groups. Maybe for karaoke, bingo, or something like that.

This place definitely deserves 5-stars for their yummy drinks! My girlfriends and I tried the Keep Matcha and the Keep Latte (added vanilla). We really enjoyed our drinks and the fluffy whipped cream. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy the garlic bun. Having it served on a sweet bun is very strange and didn’t work in our opinion (all 3 of us agreed). I’m not someone to waste food, but we did not finish the bun as it was so strange. Overall, definitely come for the drinks! Their cheesecake also looks delicious! There was a good amount of seating and the service was friendly. Make sure you aren’t in a hurry if you visit, as the line gets extremely long.

We got there around 3pm on a Saturday and the line was out the door a few minutes after we arrived. I ordered the iced salted caramel latte with oat milk, it was nice and sweet. The iced matcha was good also. I tried the cream cheese garlic bun and it was sweet, wasn't expecting that, but it was good. The parking sucks like any place in that area. The service was pleasant and quick.

An interesting and fairly new coffee shop and hangout in Kearny Mesa near the intersection of Convoy and Clairemont Mesa. It’s right next to O Zone Billiards. The interior is really spacious and minimalistic, with a grand piano in the center of the room, plenty of seating, and lots of electrical outlets to boot. Strangely enough, I had a kind of reverse experience here. Usually, I find that coffee shops tend to mask the lower quality (or burntness) of their beans through their fancier espresso drinks. At The Keep, the straight Supernova espresso shot was absolutely delicious and super high-quality. On the other hand, the latte was overly milky, to the point that I couldn’t taste the Ethiopian espresso at all. I think they need to balance the milk and additives in their drinks to help make their very tasty beans shine. I’ll have to come back sometime soon to try another drink and a pastry so I have a more well-rounded understanding of The Keep’s offerings. It sure seems like people love it—the place was packed and my latte took about 15 minutes to make. Update: My second visit to The Keep bumped the cafe from 4/5 to 5/5. This go around, I ordered the Ethiopian espresso I first tried in the latte my first visit. It was delicious! The roasts they’re using are incredible. I like the Supernova a bit more due to the citrus notes, but this one was solid as well. I also had a cortado with Brazilian beans. It was really good too. Finally, I tried a pastry, opting for the chocolate croissant. They heated it up for me and it was super flavorful and flaky. I have a feeling this place got stars knocked off from being so hyped up and busy during its opening months, which likely led to a pace of business that was extremely difficult to serve consistently. Now that they’re in the swing of things, I can confidently say it’s in my top 10 coffee shops in San Diego county.

this place is WORTH THE HYPE!!!! finally visited the keep and can’t wait to come back. the homemade whipped cream is truly one of the most glorious things i’ve ever eaten: the texture, the flavor, everything. i got a keep latte with vanilla and my friend got the keep matcha and we were in heaven. staff was super friendly and service was prompt ◡̈ the ONLY thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the seating is so odd! it’s all very uncomfortable and has lots of camping furniture for some reason. that definitely won’t stop be from returning, gotta come back for the bagels!!!!

The matcha quality is good. All the drinks were thick and looked exactly like the pictures on the menu. The black sesame didn't taste like black sesame, it was mainly just matcha and cream. The strawberry matcha was had a lot of flavor with both the strawberry and matcha.

Arrived on a Saturday morning around 9 AM. The place was already quite full but not overly crowded, and we were able to find seats. The seats along the walls had some stains on the wood, making them look a bit dirty. There were no menu boards; the only menu was a small one at the cashier. We ordered the signature Keep Latte and Dirty. The Keep Latte looks unique but is essentially milk, espresso, and a thick chunk of heavy whipped cream. The coffee is extra strong, so even with all the milk and cream, it still packs a punch. The ham croissant was good.

n

you need to get the garlic cream cheese bun! the spooky Thai tea was really good too. they don't take cash which sucks and the seating could be way better but I'd for sure go back just to get the bun to go. parking is also horrible, you have to park on the street or you might get lucky with the singular parking spot they have

I’d always heard great things about this coffee shop, so I had to come try it for myself. The space is modern, clean, and very comfortable to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. I ordered the “Harvest Moon,” which comes with pistachio-infused cream on top. It’s a small cup, but the coffee flavor is incredibly rich—absolutely delicious! Their signature black sesame latte, matcha, and croissants are also very popular. They offer some unique flavors too, which are great if you like trying something new. It can get crowded during busy hours, parking isn’t very convenient, and some drinks can be on the sweeter side. Overall, it’s a must-visit for coffee lovers—a stylish café that’s perfect for chatting, relaxing, or getting some work done.

I ordered the strawberry matcha and would rate it a 3/5. The strawberry pieces were a bit too chunky for me, and since they aren’t fully blended, the straw kept getting clogged, which made it difficult to drink. I later learned you can ask for less pulp, which definitely helps, but wider straws would make a big difference. I did go back the same day and got another drink that they deconstructed for me, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, it didn’t include the cookie or the toppings on the whipped cream, so it didn’t feel like the full experience I had the first time, especially since those were my favorite part. I reached out to the owner on Instagram, and although it took some time, she eventually responded and apologized. I appreciate her acknowledging my experience and making the effort to make things right. After my conversation with the owner, I went back and got another strawberry matcha. It was better with less pulp. I also ordered the Keep-X drink for my son, and he absolutely loved it. That definitely made the experience better overall. The drinks are on the expensive side, so getting the full experience matters, but I do appreciate the owner’s response and the quality of their drinks overall.

When you walk in the interior doesn’t appear to be finished and the menu was not displayed except for when you get to the counter which is a bit of a nuisance but I’m sure they’ll fix these things the longer they’re open. The flavor options are basic: vanilla, caramel, orange (in only one specific drink). The pastries are from the same company that supplies much of sd so nothing too exciting there except for their garlic cream cheese bun and brownie (and also the basque cheese cake which was advertised but they didn’t have) We got the keep lattes (caramel and vanilla), the garlic cream cheese bun, and the brownie. The espresso in the lattes tasted pretty good but since they contain like half a cup of whipped cream we couldn’t finish them. This may be a matter of taste but the bun was inedible to us because it was so sweet. Like as sweet as the lattes, but with garlic (shuddering thinking about it). Needless to say we ate one slice and tossed the rest. The brownie didn’t have a strong chocolate flavor and didn’t seem the freshest (may have just been overcooked slightly), so we also didn’t finish that 😅 Overall, would come once for the novelty of the whipped coffee once, but nothing to draw me back a second time unless they got unique flavors and a better pastry selection (especially in the savory department).

turns out one of their most popular items takes over 30 minutes to bake on the spot and the cashier does not verbally tell you that!! and when i asked about the wait the manager/owner told me “oh there’s a sign you should’ve read at the register” but when we went to the cash register the sign was not visible. she literally turned it around in front of me. i myself am a services/retail manager so i understand rushes are terrible but ummm please warn your customers you need to wait 30+ minutes for one latte and even longer for a garlic bun. latte itself was good, the shot was not bitter and the sesame foam was very smooth, but i use an espresso machine at work and it should not take 30 minutes for a latte

Nice place to hang out across the street from Starbucks. Had a small baby mocha hot coffee and it had zero sweetness but looked pretty and was about $6. Had the garlic pastry puff basically a bagel with garlic cream cheese and that was pretty good but was almost $6. Music was pretty good. Only two tables for four people. Other small tables with two person occupancy. Staff not friendly just kind of doing their own thing but not impolite. Piano in the back, and they have an area in the back that is like storage, but you can see all the storage stuff. Looks like they just moved in as nothing on the chalkboards behind the registers. Place has potential but only two pastries available one of which is a cinnamon roll. All in all the main good thing is the garlic pastry and the ample light.

I got the keep matcha and it was mediocre for its price. I can tell by the color of the matcha too that it wasn’t going to be good. And for $8 is kinda insane bc jt looked like the matcha I used to buy at Costco (not very high quality). Along w that , the wait was so long for 2 drinks, I think it was around 25 mins.. And there was no where to sit too . I would go to 3cat which is next door for better and more affordable drinks .

I started having stomach pains about 40 minutes after I left here Sunday. Then a cold sweat covered my body from my head to my legs, and I had diarrhea and vomited. The stomach pains got worse and worse, and at the same time, the fingers on both of my hands went numb, which lasted about 5 to 7 minutes. Then I started running a fever, and my joints were weak and tingling all over my body. I'm still having stomach pains, which I realize are definitely symptoms of food poisoning. I guess they didn't take good care of their ingredients on this suddenly hot day. I loved everything about the interior, the design of the drinks, and I came out smiling, but my joy was short-lived and replaced by excruciating pain. If you've had symptoms like mine since your last visit, you should let the store know. Other customers may also be affected, so be careful.

I went during the first few weeks of its grand opening and the experience was amazing. They let you choose a coffee bean type and they had a iPad with labeled pictures of their signature drinks and the employees were very nice and attentive. After going 2 more times after, the prices increased (Keep Latte was $6ish dollars and is now $8), and the quality decreased. The Keep Latte tasted very watered down and is not worth $8. I also got a pastry and this time around it was super dry and too flaky, and not buttery like previous times. The employees are now more dismissive and no longer ask you for the option to choose a coffee bean type. Also, the seating area doesn’t get cleaned often enough and there’s usually a lot of crumbs or coffee stains on the tables and floor.

Cold brew sucked (bitter taste due to old coffee grounds?) place looks run down and simplistic in design not modern or edgy or even clean. I had their keep late, also bitter taste even with whole milk and cream. Oh and parking is segregated and hard to find. I've seen a shop owner come in to inform someone they are parked in their space and threatened to tow.

This was a 16oz latte with light ice next to a 12oz iced coffee. Pitiful. What a waste of $6. I even asked her if there was a mistake made because I ordered the larger size.

Love going to this coffee shop and so does a relative of mine so I bought them a giftcard at this establishment for their birthday last month. They went to go use it today and the cashier told them that they "didn't know how to use it" and that they couldn't use it in store. Why sell gift cards if the patrons can't use it?

I'm sharing this in hopes it helps someone before deciding to stop by. I wish I had checked yelp beforehand. I ordered coffee drink with light ice, but unfortunately that wasn't followed. On top of that the cup was only filled about 3/4 of the way, which made it feel like I didn't get what I paid for. I saw other folks also complaint on yelp about a similar situation. Let's be real I pay for coffee not ice! The ambiance was also much louder than expected. There's a piano available, and while that can be a nice touch, it was disruptive to those having a conversation. For the price point I didn't feel it matched the value. Just something to keep in mind before spending your money.

I’ve been here twice now, and the first time I went I loved the drink I got because it was so yummy. But, this time I got a different drink and it was 90% ice, so I finished the drink in three sips, and then I could see the amount of huge ice cubes in my very small and overly priced drink. $18 for two people with default small sized drinks, not worth the price. Also, not very friendly or welcoming employee but they seemed understaffed/overworked, especially since they were so busy making drinks that they didn’t realize they were out of straws and we had to ask. Overall, there’s just as good/better places out there with bigger portions that justify the price. Don’t think I’ll be back again.
