Upon entering Red Lobster, we were immediately greeted by Zennie at the host stand — warm, welcoming, and on it from the start. Within seconds of sitting down, Itzalena introduced herself and was incredibly attentive. She made confident recommendations right away and clearly knew the menu well, which always sets the tone for a great experience. We started with the fried calamari and it was excellent — the batter had great seasoning and a perfect crisp. The Dragon Teriyaki fried lobster was the absolute showstopper for us. Bold flavor, perfectly fried, and something we’d come back specifically to order again. The fish and chips were solid and consistent, and of course, the biscuits never disappoint. If we’re being honest, the chowder was a bit watery. The clams tasted fresh — not chewy or fishy at all — just cut into very small bites. The coleslaw leaned a little bland for our preference. That said, the service truly elevated everything. Attentive, warm, and seamless from start to finish. Great hospitality can make all the difference, and Itzalena plus Zennie absolutely delivered. We left happy and would gladly return.
Had a wonderful experience! Took my husband for the first time for his birthday. Claudia was an excellent server, so attentive and made the experience such a joy! 🦞🦞🦞🦞🦞(5/5 lobsters)
I went for a birthday celebration. It was my first time at this location, and my first time in many years at a red lobster. I was pleasantly surprised. I am trying to watch my weight so I didn’t wanna order a big plate of food, and I was afraid I wouldn’t find anything on the menu that meant my needs, but I was wrong. I ordered a baked potato, which was excellent and I was able to get all the toppings on the side so I could measure out what I wanted. I also ordered a side of roasted asparagus, which was crispy and fresh and flavorful. The party I was with ordered fried calamari which I tasted, and it was good. They also had the little bread rolls and the lobster bisque dip and everyone raved about those. The person next to me enjoyed her shrimp fettuccine. I can’t speak to the rest of the food, but it seemed like everyone enjoyed it.
The waitresses were amazing and super friendly! We had the new crab biol with lobster, it was good (I think it would've been better if I would've gotten it spicy). The service made it even better though, they were on top of everything!
Well prepared seafood. Vegetables not overcooked. Enjoyed every bite of lobster and scallops.
I took my mom out for her Birthday today. We made a reservation and were taken in immediately. If the manager or whoever in charge reads this I hope you treat Patty well. She's really a valued employee. I think if more servers were like her would help with business in all honesty. Patty was very charismatic and her energy and ability to suggest menu items was superb. She even convince my mom who doesnt drink alcohol to try one. She even convince my dad to try and appetizer which he normally doesnt order. We nearly doubled what we expected to spend which was worth it overall. If I ran a restaurant I would love to have servers with a great salesman, go getter attitude like patty and get customers to try something out of their norm.
The manager Walter and our waiter were really nice. My wife didn’t like what she ordered but they were a big help they replaced her meal and gave us a coupon for next time. The staff is amazing and the food was great definitely will come again.
Nice quiet lunch today. Our server recommended a killer deal for 2 2 premuim entrees, 2 regular entrees, 2 sides to share for $50. Plus biscuits, of course. We had lobster tails, shrimp linguine, shrimp scampi and 2 baked potatoes. All very buttery and good- although the potatoe did not have enough sour cream. Service was great.
Great food, lovely reception. And Miss. Isabella was too good with her recommendations. She was very helpful.
If you like comfort food, this Red Lobster has really good seafood, but also chicken, cheeseburgers, _et cetera,_ in case anyone in your party wants something else. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere reminds me of a Marie Callendar or a similar mid-range American restaurant. The dining area is *not* infested with TV displays, and you can have a reasonable conversation. I think there were some displays in the bar area, and they'll serve you meals there, too.
Super friendly server, great vibes, good food, fun times
Play some breath of fresh air like being at home nothing better than comfort food feel like homework better than that in San Diego love and God bless you all 🙏
I like the new menu. My food was fantastic and the server was excellent!
Red Lobster’s employee that goes far and beyond service. Jesse Cardenas -Baldati I’m Handicapped. Prior to my visit, we communicated about my gift card. The day of my visit he was right there waiting to complete ..Thank you ! Red Lobster for having a great people person. Ms. Mona Boone
Great service by everyone who was working there. Miguel our server was very friendly had a great attitude and the drinks were amazing! The food was soooo good we had the crab queso, salmon New Orleans, chocolate cake, and a margarita. Everything was on point!!! Thank you red lobster crew for the amazing experience.
I had the most amazing dining experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely wonderful, from the appetizers to the desserts. Everything was cooked to perfection, with fresh ingredients and exquisite flavors. The presentation was also very appealing, with colorful and creative dishes that looked like works of art. I was so impressed by the food that I didn't think to take a picture until after I started eating. I regretted not capturing the beauty of the food, but I was too busy enjoying the taste. The service was also excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who made me feel welcome and comfortable. They were very knowledgeable about the menu, and gave me great recommendations based on my preferences. They also checked on me regularly, and refilled my water and bread without me having to ask. They made sure that I had everything I needed, and that I was satisfied with my meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food and good service. It is definitely one of the best places I have ever eaten at, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes. It is worth every penny, and you won't regret it.
We had a really nice time eating dinner here for my son’s 10th birthday. His choice! He went with the kids lobster tail, which is no longer listed on the kids meal, but it’s still available. I was happy it was Endless Shrimp season so I dug in to all the delicious shrimp options - garlic scampi, coconut shrimp, and linguini alfredo. I must admit I was shocked just how delicious the pasta was! After dinner, my son was surprised with a free sundae. Thank you to our server, and everyone else, for making it a memorable visit!
Dana is an amazing server. Please give her a raise. She even gave me expert ideas because I haven't been here in awhile. Food is delicious and she provided excellent service. Thank you!!!
I was so close to canceling the review cause logging in took so long. Not a fan of having to do this on my own phone. It's cool because the waitress was pretty chill and good to our table.
Bella was outstanding! Friendly, knowledgeable, kind and an all around good waitress. Glasses kept full and she checked on us at the right time every time. Thank you Bella! We’ll see you again soon!
Nice vibe going on!!! Our server was absolutely amazing. Food top notch. Our table had three pounds of crab legs, one captains feast, and chicken tenders for the land lover of the group. All came side, and we had a side of brussel sprouts, which is always a must-have. Don't forget the Cheddar Bay biscuits.
Food was phenomenal. Dana was an excellent server! Very respectful and kind. I would only come to Red lobster if she works here. No one else can serve me!
I came here with my mom a couple days ago and had a great time! I heard they had the new crab boils and just had to try them for myself. My waitress' name was Alejandra I believe, and she was very nice and friendly. She took our order and checked in a couple times to make sure everything was fine. A man named Jesse also came by our table, introduced himself as the manager, and checked in a few times to make sure everything was up to par. He was very friendly and I was surprised to see how he was checking in on other tables and helping the servers, he even took my plate when I was done! I'm not sure of the details, but at one point I saw him talking to this older couple next to my table and he even knelt down so he could be face to face with them while they were having a discussion! I don't think I've ever seen a manager do that before, just makes me happy to see people actually care about a human interaction rather than shoving people out the door. My mom loved her food, the biscuits were delicious like always, and while the boil didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked, there was enough seafood in there to hit the spot! Food - 4/5 Service - 5/5 I'll definitely be back!
From the moment the door was held by an employee that said enjoy your evening it was off to an amazing start. The host smile and politeness had a feeling of warmth. There was an environment of supple lightning and cheerfulness in the room. Seating was quick the food service was expedited and the meal was delicious.
Everything was delicious and im so happy that there is still a red lobster in San Diego. The service was perfect and I absolutely would come here again.
Dana was amazing. She made her experience it felt worthwhile it’s a priceless experience and I would highly recommend 10 out of 10 come visit Dana in Chula Vista. Thankkkkk youuuuu
Brenda was an amazing waitress! Came in with great energy & always checked on me and my boyfriend. Gave us great suggestions from the menu
Our server Bella was amazing! We came here on Valentine’s Day 2026 and I was so happy to get our server again Bella. She was very friendly and very attentive. She’s beautiful inside and out! She did not disappoint.
Amazing experience thanks to Miguel our server and bartender, the host Brenda who was very friendly and kind great with kids by the way... she took the time to show my kids the lobsters! The manager went by our table to ask how everything was and we told him what a excellent experience we had. Thank you for a memorial experience and service!
Bella, our waitress did an excellent job taking care of us with our drinks, our order and checking on us throughout our meal. She even laughed at some of my stupid jokes. Thank you, Bell. Stay safe & stay pretty.
Traveling from Arizona… Juat picked a location not to far from Mission Beach reports… So glad we picked this location witness was no nice she even brought over staff to sing happy birthday to my son in law!!! After she said they don’t normally do that!!! Was so sweet!! And the food was really good!!!
My family came to celebrate my sons 5th birthday here since he's a seafood fan. The service was great the kitchen happen to give us less than a full crab leg and the manager quickly fixed the issue. The staff sung happy birthday to my son which really made our night. Bella was a awsome waitress i would come back.
We enjoyed a very pleasant meal on Christmas Eve with the family. The food was solid, location filled with old memories, and service was stellar! Bella was our server and she made us feel welcome, very well attended to, and even entertained. We left with new memories to add to our previous collection, and will look forward to returning again.
We came to celebrate my father-in-law he his birthday. Red Lobster is his absolute favorite place to eat. Becky was our waitstaff and she made the entire experience sooo amazing. The food was tremendous but the service really made the day. We were all so very happy and pleased with the food, the ambiance, the attentiveness, the kindness, and first class service. Kudos to Becky, the chefs, and management for everything!
I had an amazing experience at Red Lobster! From the moment we walked in, The hostess Emelie was very welcoming.Thank you Itzaleny for always being attentive and prompt with the exceptional service. The meal itself was fresh & flavorful. I ordered a grilled salmon with a side of Walt’s shrimp. The Cheddar Bay Biscuits were as addictive as ever! Huge thanks to Walter for making sure everything was taken care of the moment I walked in and out of Red Lobster.
Every time I come here (which isn’t often), the food has been good. But the last time I came, the food was outstanding! I ordered the crab my way Cajun style and it comes with potatoes and a side, so I chose a baked potato with everything on it. I believe the price was around $24-$27.99 each which isn’t bad for two snow crab clusters that I didn’t finish in one sitting. The butter and seasoning was so goooood but it’s very greasy, so be prepared to get down and dirty😜 The mango Boston iced tea was OK.. the lemonades are probably better.

We didn’t order the lobster but the shrimp were good enough 😋, portions albeit were tad smaller than expected. 😅 Will give it another try next time 😊 📍Red Lobster - CYO Family Feast: Shrimp Scampi, Walts Fried Shrimp, Fried Whitefish, Family French Fries, Family Mash Potatoes and Cheddar Bay Biscuits #redlobster #postmate #sandiegoguide #sdeats
Server was great. Food took over 30 mins to get to table.
Traveling can be exhausting and environmentally unfamiliar… However, there’s nothing like a great meal to soothe the day. I have to say this location has THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PROFESSIONALISM. A resturant can have amazing food but the CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWAYS AN EXPECTATION. I would like to thank the RL staff for appreciating and valuing your customers!!
I had an amazing time my server Juan R was so amazing he kept checking on me made sure I was good. He was always smiles and made sure my drink was filled. I had the lobster x2 with a shrimp pasta a mac and cheese side dish. The mac and cheese was so salty I couldn't even eat it. I also had a potato with lobster topping now that was the so delicious the lobster was good but alittle tough to eat. Although some of my food wasn't the best my server made my day anyways. The chocolate wave with ice cream was tremendous. I really hope when I go again Juan will be my server crossing fingers.
My boyfriend and I wanted a date night and although neither of us have been to a RL in over a decade it’s what came into his mind so we drove 40 min to Chula Vista only to find out endless shrimp doesn’t exist anymore LOL, but honestly no big deal, this was a fun throwback experience. The restaurant hasn’t changed one bit since we were there as kids and we actually appreciated that. Our meals were very affordable and while salty, still delicious. Who doesn’t love everything smothered in butter? My shrimp trio was delicious. Pls get the coconut shrimp with the pineapple sauce, YUM! And my BF got some lobster and garlic shrimp which was also very good. Oh, and we forgot to mention the biscuits, just as good as we remembered. So thank you red lobster for a fun throwback evening.
I went to dinner here with my niece. It wasn't crowded, so we were seated right away. Our food took a long time to be served. When it finally arrived It was very good. This location was much better than the one in La Mesa because the food wasn't salty. The waitress seemed stressed even though the place wasn't busy. I asked her for Tabasco sauce, and it took her a while to get it to me. She also forgot to bring my niece another drink..

The service was quite slow, and the food took at least 30 minutes to arrive. The pasta with shrimp was disappointing--it tasted overwhelmingly buttery, almost like eating a stick of butter.
The service was good and the server was friendly. We tried the sea food boil. The food was enough for two people. The place was clean and friendly!!

Are you kidding me?! I expected more rice on my plate it’s not even a portion of what it was seen in the advertisements. But I have to mention, the waitress was great and the food is really delicious! (Waitress: Michelle) She immediately brought me more rice. they need to pay more attention on their cooking team. But overall it was a great experience.
This review is probably about a month overdue, but I wanted to share my experience. I went to Red Lobster because I got caught up in the hype of the lobster/seafood boils — but honestly, I wasn’t that impressed. I heard after my visit that they’ve since added more seasoning to the boils, which is exactly what mine needed! The seafood itself wasn’t bad — it seemed fresh, just very bland. I also tried the lobster nachos and, of course, the famous cheese biscuits. Those never disappoint! The service was good, and I actually really liked the ambiance — it’s dark, cozy, and a little romantic. Overall, it’s classic Red Lobster: nothing fancy, just decent seafood, but it could definitely use more flavor.
Brought my husband for his bday. At our table in could hear an employee in kitchen, coughing & coughing. I could even hear him bringing the phlegm to his throat to spit out. I was disgusted I couldn't eat the food I ordered. However my husband at all his
We were sat really quickly and the server was polite. Biscuits came right away and were delish! My daughters linguini alfredo was not good. The sauce was plopped on top and was strangely grainy with no flavor. The shrimp were fine. Found the whole meal to be really over priced for what you get.
We were excited to try out the Chula Vista Location of Red Lobster since I work close by there now. My boyfriend and I went for a later lunch around 230pm. When we arrived, the place had a few tables seated from what we could see at an empty host stand. We stood at the front for a couple of minutes then saw a lady heading our way. We thought we would be greeted and seated then. Unfortunately, when I said hello, she didn't say hi at all and walked past us to a table to the left of the host stand to explain something. I understand she may have had something she was working on for this table, but we were completely ignored. She left that table, and we figured we would be acknowledged then when she started to head back towards the kitchen area, but nope!! Nothing. Shortly after ahead left the actual hottest came up as she had stepped away to get a drink. She was sweet and apologized as nobody was up front when she went back. We liked her engagement with us. She is a doll. Wish I knew her name. We were sat and after about 5 minutes our waiter came to us and asked about drinks and bread. We ordered immediately as we had time to review the menu. He was nice, but it did take another about 5 minutes to get a soda and water and bread. When we ordered, I got the shrimp bowl and added crab legs as a side order. My boyfriend got the endless shrimp. When the order came to our table my order of the shrimp bowl was taken off the tray the server was bringing to us by a female leader I assume. I thought maybe something was wrong with the plate and ahe had to fix it. Our waiter came to her saying it belonged on our table and brought it back. It was odd as she didn't say anything just took it back to the kitchen. So weird. When we began to try our food, it was good. My bowl was yummy. The crab legs were good, but it was difficult to get a good piece of the crab out of the shell in a piece that was edible. The endless shrimp was not really that. My boyfriend had to order 1 shrimp at a time and when he did that it took an awful log time to get the next plate. He's not a huge eater, but wanted to enjoy his shrimp dinner. Overall he like most the shrimp he got. The walts shrimp was a bit over battered. Shrimp scampi was his favorite and always is. So this was a hit and miss visit. We will try again sometime to see if it was a one off day.
It's been a long week with rushed appointments and meetings. Only had time for quick meals so I thought I would slow down and get a casual mean. I chose Red Lobster. I haven't been to Ted Lobster in at least 10 years. So away I went. I was really early for the evening meal so the place was not busy. I did notice that the furniture was starting to show some age. I chose my meal of Mahi Mahi with a ginger soy glaze over rice. Also came with premium vegetables. I decided to hedge my bet and ordered a side salad and crispy brussel sprouts. I'll cut to the chase, Mahi Mahi was way over cooked. Hard and dry as sand. The premium vegetables were under cooked and hard. The side salad was okay and the brussel sprouts were delicious. A mixed bag. The server was excellent. Wish the was as good as the server.
Red Lobster use to be a favorite for birthday celebrations, however it has become an overpriced average place for seafood. The breading on everything was taseless, hard, and overcooked. Salad dressing was watered down to the point it too was tasteless. Service was outstanding however. The wait staff were friendly and perfectly attentive.
We came here because I haven't been to Red Lobster in a while and was craving for their bay biscuits. I tried their new Jambalaya bowl and it wasn't Jambalaya at all. It was very soupy more like bad gumbo. Biscuits was alright but it's not as good as I remember it. Now I know why we only have 1 Red Lobster left here in San Diego =/
Today around p.m. my boyfriend picked me up the Mariners seafood boil with Cajun butter spicy. The Cajun butter was spicy and it was good. The corn and potatoes were cooked to perfection. The crab was good. The reason I gave three stars for the food is because the lobster tail and the shrimp were overcooked. The shrimp was very hard, dry and rubbery. So was the lobster tail. Whoever's putting the bag together should pay attention to the cook time on those items because shrimp can be overcooked very easily and so can lobster. I liked it and it was something new to try because I love Crab Boil bags, but I just didn't like the part about my seafood.
The clam chowder was good as usual, however, the asparagus with lobster topping was almost inedible. The lobster was very salty and when I ordered it the server did not mention that there was a less expensive crab topping version, which I would have preferred. My paltry serving of asparagus came to $13.48 verses $11.49 for the crab version. Do not waste your money on this dish.

Please Go Back To The Larger and Better In - Store -Breaded Cod Fillets ?!?! Because now the new pre- Frozen ones are No Good! Try to eat them?? And get better red wines?!?!
Food was good customer service was horrible. Went there for Valentine's not impressed at all.
I went to red lobster in Chula Vista, California in March with a friend. His food came 12 minutes after mine but we waited for a good 15 minutes to place the order with Charlie. No one was there. I guess they were short staff, but his food didn’t come out until 12 minutes after mine so I sit there and wait for his food. His lobster tail was hard as a rock. He had the feast the shrimp were rubbery. Mine wasn’t rubbery. My lobster tail was kind of tough like it was frozen and then put in there fast basically cooked fast when I complain oh, and he had a steak with the salad His steak was tough as I don’t know what so they took the steak back and took the lobster tail back and gave his money $12 off of the bill for that I couldn’t argue with them because I was I spoke to the manager and that’s all he said that he would take off the bill on Sandy‘s bill And that was just so unfair and we said we would never eat there again. Basically I don’t wanna be racist, but it was like it was Mexican owned and it was their restaurant or their house and that was all they can do for us. I was so upset about it, but we just said we will just never ever in life go to that Red lobster in Chula Vista Now a good one to go to is in La Mesa. I will give them a sixth this one in Chula Vista I will rate them a two all the way. He spent $137 on the meal, our meal, -$12 off of our ticket just so unfair,
Food was not what I remember it tasting like and had less options. Our server was great until she had to leave and the manager took over. He was not good and only saw him once.
I actually had a delivery for my 50th anniversary. We had been doing this every anniversary. We used to go when it was here where we lived. But now we get delivery. Now, concerning the delivery, it was fine. However, as for the food itself I cannot say the same thing. I ordered the steak and lobster and broccoli. I did not get the broccoli and the steak was almost not Edible No taste and dry. The lobster was so small and did not look anything like the picture and it did not have the greatest taste either. My husband ordered the Admiral Feast. This was his favorite order each time. I say that it WAS because it is not anymore. It was bland. Aslo I ordered French fries for his plate and did not receive them. And I received mashed potatoes and rice which I never ordered. I just read that AI will soon be helping Red Lobster with its orders. Maybe it can help them with the food also.
My first time at Red Lobster and don't think I'll be returning to this location anytime soon. Took my wife here on a date since we got a gift card for Xmas. When we arrived, we were told there was a 30min wait, so we put our phone number down and staff said they would text when table was ready. Waiting area was pretty full so we decided to wait in the car. After about 30minutes, we went back inside to ask about our table, and I noticed on their list that they had skipped us to seat other guests and never texted us. That's fine but don't say you will notify waiting guests if that's not part of the policy. We were seated pretty quickly after the wait in the car. I ordered endless shrimp and my wife had fish & chips. Her dish was overcooked and overgreased, the crust on the fish was soggy from the grease. My endless shrimp options were pretty good except also overgreased (see picture of alfredo shrimp served with waaaay too much butter), and it took over 30min for each order (maximum two each time). Drink service was also slow, never came to fill our water and we left before ordering a 3rd drink. TL;DR: friendly staff but poor service, food is overcooked and too much grease / butter
I got the Crab-Stuffed Shrimp Rangoon -Which was too crispy I couldn't really taste the crab. Creamy Lobster Baked Potato -Was good, but just wasn't enough sauce for the potato. I believe I only got 1 piece of lobster. 😶 Brownie Overboard® -It was very rich. If you like that kind of sweetness. Pepsi® 2-Pack -Nothing wrong with fountain drinks but I was under the impression of receiving 2 cans. Include Cutlery Kit (Fork, Knife, Spoon and Napkin) -I did not receive any of this. ..... It was good. Just wasnt enough for the cost. Snack on Lobsters.
The food was red lobster tier food so not bad. The service was so shitty She did not get a tip! Forgot my drink, Never checked in, My brownie overboard brownie was cold and it’s supposed to be warm, so embarrassing to see other servers on the floor while my server is hiding in the back. . If the food‘s gonna take long to come out, at least have good service ! Pigtails do better !
My family got there around 530. They were cleaning up more important cleaning then sing to my family and getting us a place to sit and then she didn’t know where she’s going. So does she backtrack it over here? She was very polite. Just took her about 1015 minutes to get us a place to sit when there was hardly anybody sitting in the place so my grandson‘s first time there and we had the crappy meal ever. My salmon plate plate was dry and overcooked and I looked at the plate and it looked like crap. I didn’t want to be a complain to my family. I went ahead and ate half of it and brought the other half home he ordered the beast platter and had everything on the lobster legs. He was so eager to eat but they were crap. They were as small as my ring finger And the calamari was quite dry. However the coleslaw with my salmon was pretty good. The lemonade was salty and sweet. At the same time. It taste like a sweet-and-sour like they made it from the sweet-and-sour that you make tequila sunrises with anyhow I asked my grandson which is 12 okay? 13 he’ll be 13 next month. When’s the next time we gonna go to lobster he said in 100 years And my girl and his father never wants to go back to red lobster again. Crappy meal crappy service is a nice place though.
Went there with my family for my birthday. Good luck getting comfortable seating if you are a party of 4 or more. Food portions are small with minimal substitutions. The waitress was incorrect on telling me what my order came with. I didn't realize it was wrong until I started eating it. I told them immediately to change my order and they charged me for the tiny portion that I ate instead of just replacing it. Never in over 30 years have I ever seen so much pettiness at any kind of restaurant and I used to work at one. This is the WORST Red Lobster I've ever been to and if I ever go back it will NOT be at the Chula Vista location.
Food was kind of mediocre. I asked for water refill 3 times. Over a period of 45 minutes i had no water to finish meal with. Brussel sprouts were pretty dry as well. Rock lobster which is normall…

Horrible food. High prices and mediocre service. Will never go back@
The customer service was horrible. The host/ lady at the front desk was unprofessional. She had told us 20-30 mins and had us waiting over 50 minutes. She let 2-3 families go ahead of us that had came after us. We ended up still waiting and asking how much longer the wait was going to be and that’s when she walked us over to our seats. Very unacceptable. She needs to be fired if she can’t do her job right .
On March 30th we ordered online to be delivered at home. One of our orders was the lobster pappardelle. I always order that because I’m allergic to shrimp!! With my luck their chef is probably freestyling because my order got shrimp on it!!! Lots of it!! So I call the restaurant and I spoke to their manager Walter he told me to make another order and he will refund me the first order of pappardelle and the second one as well. The pappardelle is not cheap with the delivery is almost 50$. I called the other day to ask about the refund Walter was nowhere to be found. The lady said he will leave a message to Walter so he can call me back, never got a call back or never had a call about my refund. So unprofessional! Never again! I wish red lobster never reopened again!!! I’m so upset.
My recent dining experience at Red Lobster, situated at 598 H St, was an unmitigated disaster. Under the helm of General Manager Antonio Manzano, this establishment has plummeted into a pit of ineptitude and negligence.Upon entering, we were greeted by the cordial facade of our waitress, Isabela, who, despite her efforts, failed to salvage the sinking ship of service. We endured an excruciating wait for our table, only to be met with further delays in receiving our drinks. My wife's repeated attempts to order her preferred beverage were met with incompetence, forcing her to settle for a substitute. As we awaited our entrees, the passage of time stretched into eternity. When our dishes finally arrived, they were served sporadically and, to add insult to injury, cold. My steak, ordered with anticipation, was a ghastly sight – dry, flavorless, and bereft of the promised butter on the lobster. Our grievances, voiced to management with a glimmer of hope, were met with a tepid response. Despite their attempts at rectification, the errors persisted, culminating in the farcical scenario of having to procure our own to-go container as if we were scavenging for scraps.Furthermore, our dining experience was marred by the unsanitary presence of another patron dining barefoot, a blatant disregard for basic hygiene that was met with apathy by the restaurant staff. As a longtime patron, I am utterly dismayed by the egregious decline in both quality and service at Red Lobster. This experience has extinguished any desire to return, and I urge others to heed my warning and steer clear of this establishment. What a shameful descent into mediocrity.
‼*incident, threatening with GUN* my recent experience at this restaurant was incredibly disappointing -- and, frankly, upsetting. We arrived around 8:00 PM and asked the host how long the wait would be before adding our name to the list. We were told 20-35 minutes. After 45 minutes passed, a family member politely checked in, and the person at the front responded with visible attitude and only said, "soon." We ended up waiting a full hour to be seated -- and the restaurant didn't appear especially busy, though possibly short-staffed. Had we been told upfront that the wait would be an hour, we would have completely understood. Communication would've gone a long way. When we were finally seated, it took another 45 minutes for our food to come out. And when it did, there was A HAIR in the fries. I calmly asked for a replacement, which they did provide. At this point, it was 10 PM -- the restaurant's closing time -- and we were just starting our meal. Our server, ISABELLA, only checked on us once. No drink refills were offered, no follow-up, nothing. We appreciated the small discount we received for the hair in the food (which I didn't ask for), but the overall lack of service led us to leave no tip. I paid fully for my meal. Unfortunately, the situation escalated after we left. As I was outside with my family -- including two small children -- a man drove up and aggressively confronted us, asking if we were the last customers in the restaurant. He said his girlfriend called him crying because we didn't leave a TIP. I was stunned. Being approached in that way, in the parking lot, over a tip -- after receiving poor service -- was disturbing and unacceptable. THREATENING US WITH A GUN BECAUSE HE WANTED TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE DONT TIP FOR THE SERVICES. BEST BELIEVE I WILL DEFEND MY FAMILY. A whole argument started outside the restaurant over a tip and cops were called on my family because some GUY THAT Doesn't EVEN WORK THERE APPROACHED ME ABOUT NOT LEAVING A TIP and THREATENED US WITH HIS "GUN" This experience was not just about a long wait or slow service -- it turned into an upsetting and uncomfortable situation that no guest should have to go through. I truly hope this feedback leads to better communication, professionalism, and customer care in the future. AND MAKE SURE YOU TIP YOUR WAITRESS HERE OR YOU WILL HAVE SOMEONE OUTSIDE WAITING FOR YOU AGGRESSIVELY OVER NOT LEAVING A TIP.
To whom it may concern, I’m writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the experience my family and I had at your location recently. We arrived at 7:00 PM with a reservation for a party of 10, prepared to celebrate a very special occasion — my daughter’s 10th birthday. From the moment we arrived, the experience began to unravel in a way that was both upsetting and unexpected, especially considering the years we’ve spent visiting and enjoying meals at this location. Upon checking in, we were informed that the wait time for our table would be approximately one hour. While not ideal, we understood and patiently waited. I observed families of 6-7 check in after me and being sat before me. After a full hour had passed, I returned to the host stand to check in on the status of our table. The host informed me that the table was still not ready but that she would speak with a manager and get back to me. I stood nearby and waited another 10 minutes before she finally returned to the desk, and when she did, she said nothing — no update, no explanation. Shortly after, a manager approached, pointed at me, and asked if I was with the party of 10. I confirmed, and he responded by saying it would be another 15 minutes. I expressed that we had already waited over an hour, but his response was dismissive — he told me that “typically it’s an hour and a half anyway,” and that we could wait the extra time. There was no apology, no ownership of the situation, and no acknowledgment of the inconvenience or lack of communication we had experienced so far. At that point, we had already invested our evening into this celebration and didn’t want to disappoint my daughter, so we waited another 15 minutes. When we were finally seated, we were led to a table that had been visibly empty since we arrived — the same table we could have been seated at from the beginning. This added to our frustration, as it made the wait feel even more unnecessary and mismanaged. Unfortunately, the disappointing service didn’t end there. As mentioned, this dinner was for my daughter’s birthday — her 10th, no less. In past visits, the staff has always made the effort to acknowledge her birthday by singing or at least offering a cheerful gesture. This time, there was no such acknowledgment. She was brought a sundae that was already half melted by the time it reached the table, which only added to the overall sense of neglect and carelessness. We’ve been loyal customers for years, and this restaurant has always been one of my daughter’s favorite places to eat. What should have been a joyful and memorable birthday dinner turned into a frustrating and disappointing evening, marred by poor communication, disorganization, and a noticeable lack of care from the staff and management.
Do yourself a favor and choose another location. The service here is horrible. And I’m pretty sure my server pocketed $60 cash I put towards the bill. Because when we got the receipt back it had all these adjustments on it, showing half our $140 bill was only $69. Crazy. Slow service. They don’t mention that their main advertisements aren’t even available, until you order! Come on. I’ll never spend a penny at this establishment again.
I received an email with a special offer and when I get to the restaurant the server told be that this location doesn't participate in that promotion.😡, They are the only location in San Diego, this is ridiculous and a common bait and switch. I decided to order the fish and chip special wich was terrible. Tasteless frozen fish, oil soaked fries, very disappointed, I thought positive chabges were coming to Red Lobster. 🤔
Came in with girlfriend trying a new place. The kitchen music was incredibly loud and disruptive. Our waitress put minimal effort into attending us and approached us with a pessimistic attitude. We tried multiple times to speak to the manager on duty and we were only met with a condescending attitude and was told that it was OUR fault for not speaking up sooner. Did not feel taken serious. We paid almost $100 to eat here and did not expect to be treated with such unprofessional and rude behavior.
I’m writing to report a very frustrating experience at your location today, December 28 at approximately 8:00 PM. I placed an online order and arrived to pick it up, expecting a reasonable wait. Instead, I was made to wait over 40 minutes. When I finally asked what the delay was, I was told you were “waiting on the biscuits.” During this time, the restaurant was not busy, there were plenty of staff present, and the manager appeared more focused on watching football than managing the situation. I was standing there with my 3-year-old daughter, while my pregnant wife waited in the car. This level of disregard for customers’ time and circumstances is not acceptable. I typically leave a cash tip when picking up online orders, but since no tip was added online, it honestly felt like we were intentionally deprioritized. Whether that was the case or not, no customer should be treated differently based on tipping, especially for a simple pickup order. This experience was extremely disappointing and not reflective of basic customer service standards. I expect better accountability and respect for customers’ time.
Stopped in passing thru, and order the special Steak and Lobster. With sides of broccoli, and some clam chowder. The clam chowder was watery. Broccoli was cold, and the mash was like warm. The service was decent. Will not visit this location again.
This Red Lobster is a prime example of previously good restaurants declining. Before going I went online to check the menu. There were numerous sites with varied menus. Most showed fresh fish items that were limited but still offered. Upon being seated and given menus I only saw mostly deep fried food. I asked what fresh seafood they had. The response was "only salmon, I think" The old Red Lobster offered a range of fresh fish varing daily. Apparently those days are gone. I retreated to Jumbalaya which was over cooked, little juice, 4 dry shrimp but plenty of sausage. The service was mediocre although delivered with a smile. Will not return to this location or probably to any Red Lobster as it does appear that the chain is indeed dying definately in quality.
Got here and the atmosphere was the same i remember. Server was ok. Food option changed and SEEMED to have tummies options. I got the ultimate feast and got the lobster tail, 7oz sirloin(medium rare) baked potato shrimp linguine. Coconut shrimp, and side of brussel sprouts. Besides the lobster tail...my steak was tough. Baked potato barely cooked through. Shrimp linguine was over cooked and sauce cold. Coconut shrimp was greasy..and brussle sprouts had a terrible after taste...oh and the most disappointing was the cheddar bay biscuits were not how they used to taste...they taste bland...not as buttery as they used to be...
First attempt at visiting red lobster after many years I ordered online a crab stuff baked potato. Takes me 20 minutes to get to the eighth Street location after ordering. I go up to the bar standing there. No one helps me. I have to flag down the waitress that was working in the bar area. She said she was gonna go check continue to do her work and put orders into the system . After about 15 minutes, I’m asking again about this one lonely, baked potato how long it will take she said I will go check. I’m there 30 minutes and I asked the waitress that’s working in the bar hey would you be able to tell me how long it’s gonna be for my baked potato she said oh they’re waiting on the crab sauce I said OK but can you find out how long it’s going to be? She says no I don’t know. So I go and ask for the manager he apologizes doesn’t understand why it would take 30 additional minutes for a baked potato give me a couple of biscuits. He asked it to please come back and visit again. So I did come back today and it was another horrible experience. Got the Mon special shrimp scampi with the lobster the waitress she was great The cooks not so much. When she brought the lobster to the table, there was a large piece of black curly hair that was baked into the lobster tail . Then she asked if I wanna keep the scampi which I assumed had pasta, but did not and the broccoli while I waited for the lobster tail. So I ate the broccoli the shrimp scampi is sitting there and what looks like a bowl of oil. It’s getting colder by the minute and 20 minutes later. The lobster tail comes out. I haven’t really seen anybody in that time to request a small side of pasta. I had to walk over to the side of the bar to do that. So I’m brought back a bowl of shrimp scampi pasta that might have well been mashed potatoes because it was so overcooked and squishy. I asked my server at the end of my mail if I could have the check. And did the manager happen to do any adjustments on the check just due to all the issues that I had. I had been there for 45 minutes and at the end, a total an hour to have a light lunch That turned into an hour. She brings me the check and it has a 20% off, which is five dollars. If you have a customer with hair on their plate as the waitress is handing it to them as a manager, you should come over and apologize for the situation and find out what you can do. And let me tell you folks none of that happened. So I don’t think the 20% is appropriate from what I just went through. So I asked for the manager to please come to the table 8 minutes later he shows up he’s already annoyed. I can tell by his body language that I’m even questioning anything. He tells me the most he can do is a family discount, which is six dollars and some change. I advise him OK this is as much as you can do because I just wanna know before I go forward. He said that’s all the discount that he is allowed to do as a manager. I have to get some side eye on that because that doesn’t sound correct and true. So I told him I didn’t think that the five dollars was appropriate. I feel like half of the check should be taken care of and I’ll pay the other half no problem. Then he became very annoyed and he said fine then just leave everything and don’t pay anything and I will just take everything off the bill and next time when you come ask for a manager and I will be your server and I will cook your food. I said my server was fine. She was great. The food had left a lot to be desired . He said well I’m a chef and I will cook it next time you come but not in a welcoming way whatsoever, it was more of an annoyed tone. Red lobster is struggling so I don’t understand why they have people that are employed that have a total lack of Customer Service and how to treat customers in order for them to come back. I gave you two tries red lobster and both times I was disappointed. So everybody take a good look at your food when it is delivered to your table with your waitress, still standing there because you might have surprises that are baked into your seafood
