Miguel’s Cocina was a phenomenal experience. Came here on a Sunday afternoon with a party of 4 and requested a table outside. I was given a 30 estimated time but waited about half of that time. They brought us water right away and had children coloring page and crayons available right away. Chips and salsa came quickly as well, also cheese jalapeño sauce, yum! The food was really good as well! We ordered the kids the carnitas plate which came with beans and rice, they approved! The carne asada plate was so flavorful I like it better than any other meat I’ve had recently. I ordered the Enchiladas Sucias and was satisfied by how filling it was. There was plenty of shredded chicken in there and the green salsa was so good. Our margaritas did not disappoint as well, strong because of the reposado tequila but yum! Churros and ice cream was delicious! The harbor view was spectacular. Loved it here!
This is a wonderful restaurant with a great view, located on the second floor of the beach. The food is delicious, the service is good, and the prices are reasonable. The most expensive dish was the fried seafood, which was around $24, but most dishes were around $18. I smiled as I watched a few people, who seemed to be friends, sitting at the bar and cheering cheerfully.
Delicious food, upbeat atmosphere, very helpful service, and great waterfront views.
Came as a large group with a reservation and they did excellent in caring for us. Drinks came out all together. Food came out in a quick fashion. It did feel very celebratory. Fajitas are good and prefer the steak. Shrimp was cooked well but I felt could be more seasoned. Chicken and pork were dry. Flour tortillas were the way to go. Carajillo was good.
This place is a fantastic mexican food place! The chips and salsa were amazing, my chicken fajitas wonderful, and the beer nice and cold. Mariana the bartender did a great job and took care of everything for me. This is my third time in San diego and next time I am in the area, I will definitly be hitting this spot up again! Thanks to all the staff for a great experience!
I liked the location, on the water. It was a little too loud for me. No espresso, just regular coffee. Food and service was good.
Couldn’t check-in to hotel, found this place across the street for a nice lunch after landing in SD! Was able to grab a seat on the outside water front deck. Lovely local beer choices and great food!!
First time at Miguel's and hands-down best meal we've had in our week in San Diego. Promptly seated outside at table for two directly on the water at sunset. Service was extremely fast considering how busy it became shortly thereafter. Delicious food and free chips and salsa while we waited. To top it off, we asked for a box for our few remaining chips and they brought us an entire bag of fresh ones! Highly recommended.
While on vacation we were looking for some Mexican food for dinner and actually stumbled into this place. Really glad we did. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Well priced selection of food and plenty of food on the plate. Great location as well, with plenty of parking. Bonus, I appreciate when the manager stops by your table and checks on you. Their manager not only stopped by our table, but he also brought more chips and dip. Small thing, but very much appreciated.
5 stars all around. Amazing food, big portions, great value. Service is top notch and beautiful views. When the sun started to heat up the outside, they accommodated by table where people wanted the blinds lowered to. All around phenomenal place to eat and have an amazing experience.
After I mixed up my reservation we ended up eating at the bar on a busy Friday night. Chris and Cierra took great care of us. One of the best experiences I’ve had at Ruth’s Chris! Thanks again.
Jeremy "Gerry" was handsdown, the best waiter that I've ever had! Amazing all around! Cool personality, and genuinely took care of us like family. This was my first time at Ruth's Chris, and wow, what an experience. Fresh bread, so good. Scallops, another best that I've ever had, filet mignon 11oz with the lobster tail, and the dessert, I added the pictures, you see it. If I had to pick a "last meal," this would be it. So so good! Espresso Martini another winner! Definitely looking forward to another visit in the future!
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience. The crab cakes, the signature chop salad, and the sweet potato casserole are must-tries, but be cautious—the bread is irresistibly tempting. The service is always top-notch, ensuring that every visit is memorable.
We had a 2 seat table by the window. Meghan was our server. She is the finest of waitresses - warm, knowledgeable - an expert on the menu and the Steak Restaurant industry. For the meal, we both house salad - chilled and lovely… the filet mignon with shrimp with brussels- all cooked wonderfully. And finished with double espresso decaf with the classic cheesecake. Just a lovely evening in the heart of San Diego.
We had an amazing private event at Ruth’s Chris steak House on N Harbor! We had over 30 adults and 10 kids the service and food was amazing. Over 25 steaks and they all came out how we ordered them. Shout out to servers Audrey, Ashlynn and Sergio for taking really good care of us all. I highly recommend the private Room for large parties!
Ate here on Christmas Eve solo as I’m a flight attendant and just wanted something great to eat as I’ve been working through the holiday season. I want to say that the dining experience here was superb and everything from the gracious host whose name I forgot (apologies) to my awesome waitress Pamela made me feel very comfortable. I genuinely appreciated the whole experience. The food itself was top notch. I ordered the lobster mac & cheese along with the Stuffed Chicken Breast which was amazing. I also thoroughly enjoyed their Manhattan drink to top it all off. Not once did I feel out of place as it seemed every table was filled and you could tell it was a busy night.
Very impressed with this place, high prices but you’re definitely paying for quality here. As someone who eats steak everyday, I’ll tell you the steak is incredible. I got the cowboy ribeye and it was a huge portion of perfectly cooked meat that was so flavorful. The texture was good and you could tell the meat is of a high grade. Service was also so fast, our food came out so quickly. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good steak dinner.
Shared the 22 oz rib eye with my hunny. Deeelicious! Perfectly cooked, thick cut and juicy. The creamed spinach wasn't as good as I remember. The atmosphere wasn't so bad, it's just a bit loud, however, it consists more of many mumbled conversations vs. high pitched. Service is always superb.
The views at this location are breath taking. We enjoyed every moment from arrival to departure with above that was to notch. Menu has a lovely variety of options and a great new option with a 3 course meal with upgrades for all chances to enjoy the menu items. Special occasions treated with intimacy and thoughtfulness. Won't ever stop coming here. Both pictures are filet mignon with Brussel sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes.
Celebrating my birthday at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Harbor Point, San Diego was an absolute delight! The atmosphere is breathtaking, with an elegant yet cozy vibe that’s perfect for special occasions. The food was phenomenal—steaks were perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and well worth the price. The service was exceptional; the servers were not only kind and attentive but also incredibly sweet to my kids, making the experience even more memorable for our family. Booking was effortless, thanks to my husband’s smooth experience, and the complimentary dessert of my choice was a lovely birthday treat. Ruth’s Chris truly excels in every way, delivering a top-notch dining experience. Highly recommend for families and special occasions alike!
This was an absolutely amazing experience. Whip a stunning view. I was San Diego Bay. It is fantastic, especially at night when the bay is lit up. The steak was the best I had while in san diego. The sides were simple but meant to worship the main dish. The service was right on.I never had to ask to refill my cup. The quality was of the utmost, and you could tell the chefs in the kitchen shared a passion for beautiful food! Give it a try. You will not regret it.
Our first time to this well-known eatery. This is a steakouse so their steaks are delicious but $$$. We made reservations for our 35th anniversary & I will say, the one thing that can screw up your meal is disappointing service. We don't drink alcohol & I feel that some servers see a part of their tip lost if you avoid $17-25 drinks, so they tend to under-serve. My water glass was left unfilled for quite a while until I asked another waiter for water. Our waiter actually walked by & did not give us a second look as he cared for others. It was disappointing to say the least. That said, the food was excellent, steak tender & delicious, salads were tasty, sides were really good & complimentary dessert creme brulee was a real treat. A very nice treat for any occasion.
High end steak house serving traditional American fare. Our party did have a pescatarian and a vegan. The pescatarian was able to find options however the vegan was not able to (they ate before coming). The food was good portions and very tasty. I ordered the surf and turf. We ordered the family sized sides for the table (mashed potatoes and creamed spinach). For dessert they gave us a free cheesecake as we were there to celebrate a birthday. We also ordered the creme brulee which was also large and delicious! The server was attentive of our needs.
Absolutely one of my favorite steakhouses to go to. The prices are fair, the food is delicious, the service is fantastic. Highly recommend getting the spicy shrimp, it has such good flavor and texture. I always gets a ribeye medium rare and it never disappoints. Can’t go wrong with that order! This was the first time I ordered the bread pudding and I probably will order that for dessert every time now. It was so rich and delicious. Highly recommend this spot

It’s just the best steak house. It may not be “hip” or fashionable as other places, but it will be the best steak you eat, and don’t miss out on the wedge salad and BBQ shrimps!!

Miguel’s Cocina in San Diego is a wonderful place to enjoy Mexican food with an amazing ocean view. The restaurant is located right by the water, and one of the best parts of the experience is being able to enjoy the view from your seat. Whether you’re visiting during the day or around sunset, the scenery adds a relaxed, vacation-like atmosphere that really elevates the meal. The restaurant itself has a lively yet comfortable vibe, making it a great spot for both locals and visitors. The seating is well arranged to take advantage of the water view, and it’s a great place to sit back, unwind, and enjoy good food with friends or family. Service was friendly and attentive, even though the restaurant can get busy due to its popular location. We started with the calamari, which was surprisingly different from the usual style. Instead of being overly crispy or heavy, it was very soft and tender. This made it stand out compared to the typical fried calamari you find at many restaurants, and it was enjoyable in its own way, especially if you prefer a lighter texture. We also ordered tacos, and they were very good. The flavors were well balanced, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the portions were satisfying. Overall, Miguel’s Cocina is a great choice if you’re looking for tasty Mexican food paired with a beautiful ocean view. It’s a place worth visiting at least once when you’re in San Diego, especially if you enjoy dining with a view.
Great food. The fried squid was the most perfectly soft succulent I've ever had in my life. Just wow. The view of the harbor was nice. The waiters were quite busy. I only saw my server twice. That was a bit disappointing, but it did keep me from over ordering food.
Just walking into Miguel’s Cocina you’re surrounded by eye pleasing decoration pieces and the vibe of a waterfront restaurant. The music is very well selected, so the ambient is set up good. I sat on the outside tables next to the water and they even asked if the sun was too hot so they could bring the shade down. Initially they brought out corn chips which were warm and recently made as well as the salsa which was tomato based, tasty, and well seasoned. It wasn’t too hot, but you can feel the spice. They also brought out their signature white sauce which tastes like drippy white cheese mixed with some peppers, it’s a 10/10 sauce. I ordered the Carne Asada (Medium). The carne asada was cooked all the way through, so it wasn’t medium except on the thicker part which was maybe a bite size area. However the seasoning and marinade was tasty and the little char pieces also added flavor. The orange rice is a classic and the flavors were there, the beans with the cheese on top were also flavorful and the texture on both was great. They also serve the dish with three tortillas and they also tasted delicious. I ordered the Calamari which i’ve never tried before so I didn’t have a reference to, but it tasted bland. Not sure if the calamari itself was not seasoned correctly or if the breading wasn’t seasoned well, but it was only alright. They served the calamari with the white sauce, a lime wedge, a green onion, and some pico de gallo. Overall experience was great, but the food might need a little bit more work done. GREAT service, Mariana was keeping up with the food and her attention was amazing. Would come again mainly for the ambient and location.
The food is amazing but honestly the staff was even better. We had a great time. We had fish tacos, carne asada, and taco of the month. Also Passionfruit margaritas was delicious. If you can get a outside seat do it! The views are beautiful.
The food is great—I actually had different expectations about the vibe going in, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s lively, with a spacious indoor-outdoor layout. The outdoor seating area is especially gorgeous at sunset. Bottom line: • Just dank food and drinks—worth every penny, and surprisingly affordable. • We got 2 cocktails, an appetizer, and 2 main dishes for just under $85. Not sure if living in San Diego has warped my sense of what things should cost… or if this spot is just that dope. Every once in a while, you hit a place you think you’ve already figured out, then get completely reintroduced in the best way. This was one of those times.
Food was good, not wow! Vibe/atmosphere 10/10. The nachos to start were 10/10. Fish tacos were 7/10, fajitas were 8/10, raspberry mojito 9/10, cake 10/10.
Miguel’s Cocina at Portside Pier is a great spot if you want good Mexican food with one of the best views in San Diego. The chips and salsa are a strong start, and the jalapeño white sauce is something you’ll want to try with everything. Good prices and excellent service.
This chain Mexican restaurant is a pretty good option when you’re craving Mexican food and want something convenient. We went on a Friday night, and even though it was very busy, we were able to snag two open seats at the bar right away. The bartender was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. One thing I really appreciate is that they offer complimentary chips with salsa and queso—and honestly, who doesn’t love queso? My husband and I split the fajitas, and even between the two of us, we still had leftovers for the next day. The food is decent—it’s not the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, but it’s good enough that we find ourselves going back, especially since it’s the closest Mexican restaurant within walking distance for us. Overall, it’s a reliable spot when you’re looking for something casual, quick, and satisfying.
Miguel's is a great contemporary mexican restaurant. It's beautifully in downtown San Diego, with great views of the port of San Diego. The food was really fulfilling, and cocktails were tasty.

I’ve been going here for years. Laminated menu these days, wine list is 10% of what it was. It’s no longer an upmarket meal. Steak was “just about ok”. Sides were dreadful. Do yourself a favour…
This Mexican restaurant has a fun atmosphere, but our service was delayed. After being seated for several minutes, I had to ask the manager if someone could take our order. The service felt a little all over the place, and we had to wait for refills as well. It was slower than expected.
While exploring Seaport Village we decided to make last minute reservations here. I’ve known of Ruth’s Chris forever, but this is the first time I popped into one This location is prime San Diego real estate overlooking the Bay and out towards Coronado Island. The layout is a little bizarre as the entire lobby downstairs is bare other than a staircase, restrooms, and light decor. You walk upstairs into the main dining area, but the hostess stand is up the stairs and all the way to the back. This was confusing to me. I would have assumed they would put it either downstairs in the lobby or just at the top of the stairs. There wasn’t a noticeable sign indicating where to go either The dining area was elegant and very intimately lit. I had known that this was a “fancy” steakhouse chain, but I didn’t expect it to feel as “stuffy” like a formal dining area on a cruise ship (unnecessarily formal for what it is). The menu offers all the cuts of steak you would expect, sides, appetizers, and other entrees. The cocktail menu was underwhelming, but with “NYC style pricing.” One thing I don’t love with “fancy steakhouses” is having everything a la carte. I like having at least a side of veggies, asparagus, or a Caesar salad without having to build my meal piece by piece. We weren’t incredibly hungry, so, we just ordered two filets and some garlic mashed potatoes to share. I will say everything tasted delicious. I have no notes. Was it the best steak I’ve ever had? No. But it was delicious. Also, they provide a complimentary bread and butter basket while you’re waiting for your food and drinks The service was good. We got our meal and everything in a timely manner and there weren’t any issues. Our server was a little bizarre though. I don’t know how to articulate exactly what it was, but this individual made me uncomfortable. They took the order professionally, offered suggestions, and tried to be friendly, but everything this person was saying was some what confusing in terms of verbiage and the demeanor was trying to be “fine dining” but it really came off as creepy and uncomfortable. Again, I can’t exactly put it into words, they were absolutely trying to be friendly and a good server, but every interaction just felt off, and we were just waiting for this person to leave us alone again I don’t know that I would go back to a Ruth’s Chris myself, but I will say it’s probably a nice date or celebratory spot for anyone that likes to feel as if they’re dining in a fancy restaurant. I think at this point in my life that’s just not me. I enjoy an elevated dining experience, but I like a little more flair or personality, and less of a stuffy and overly priced steakhouse chain feeling Some tips: If you are celebrating something special you should let them know in advance as they try to accommodate and add some celebratory flair to the meal if they know in advance. We parked near the Unconditional Surrender statue as we were exploring, so, we didn’t have to deal with parking at the restaurant. Also, try to snag or reserve a window seat to get a better view of the waterfront (especially at sunset) Cheers!!

I went here for my birthday expecting a great experience. The restaurant itself is very nice and the service was good, but the overall experience was disappointing mid AF. My steak was cooked to the temperature I ordered, however it was very chewy, which was unexpected for a steakhouse. On top of that, there were a lot of kids in the dining area who were crying and being very loud. At one point, a child at the table next to us even threw a fork at my friend, which really took away from the atmosphere. Overall, it was an okay experience, but not what I expected for a special occasion.
The service was initially good but declined as the night wore on. We had to ask for our waiter twice before he returned to our table after our food arrived. Issue, my sister's fillet was very rare and she requested for her fillet to be cooked a bit longer. My fillet was not so rare cooked to my liking, shown in the picture. I was almost done with my meal when she finally received her fillet back. After taking a few bites her fillet was grizzly and fatty. The onion soup, as shown in the picture, was served without cheese, and the waiter did nothing to fit it. My salad had large blue cheese chucks, not like creamy dressing, it was dry. One server kept trying to clear our table too early, we did not get to enjoy all our bread. Our desserts arrived before my sister was finished eating, so the desserts sat on the table for a while till she was done with her meal, which was disappointing we were celebrating her birthday. We doubt that we will be returning anytime soon with this latest experience at 1355 N Harbor Dr, San Diego. Disappointed customers!
anniversary dinner with my wife of 40 years in San Diego. Not only was it the most expensive dinner I have ever paid for, it was the worst dinner that i have ever had. The most expensive dinner…
Terrible experience. We arrived early and got wine at the bar before being seated. The hostess ACCIDENTALLY spilled my glass of wine on me. Accidents happen, I completely understand, the issue was the non-urgency to rectify the problem that spoiled our experience. Not a single manager checked in with us during our experience. The server was incredibly defensive throughout the entire experience, and I think my shirt and pants are unfortunately unsalvageable. We paid for our entire meal and still tipped our server above 20%. I wouldn’t expect great customer service if we were eating at a diner. But, this entire experience was worse than that. Hopefully, the folks “managing” this place learn some leadership skills soon.
