Opinions de Sabores Colombianos San Diego
This place is truly special. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth and care that goes into everything they do. The food is authentic Colombian food and you can taste that in every bite. My go-to dishes are always the bandeja paisa, sobrebarriga, and calentao, and they never disappoint. The bandeja paisa is hearty and perfectly balanced, the sobrebarriga is tender and full of flavor, and the calentado is pure comfort food done right. The sides are just as incredible. The arepas con queso are soft and cheesy, the buñuelos are perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the empanadas are next-level — especially when paired with their ají sauce. That sauce is unreal. You can tell the food is made with love, tradition, and pride. Everything feels homemade and welcoming, and that’s what makes this place stand out. If you’re looking for true Colombian food in San Diego, and a warm, homey atmosphere, this is the spot. Highly recommend.
I recently visited this Colombian restaurant, and it honestly felt like enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal. The flavors were authentic and comforting, just like something you’d get straight from a family kitchen. The portions were very generous, and the pricing couldn’t have been more perfect for the quality and amount of food you get. On top of that, the service was excellent. My server was so attentive and genuinely nice, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot worth coming back to!
This lovely homey restaurant goes above and beyond in service and food made with love. Large portions and the flavor with leave you more than satisfied! We went with a group of 8 and left very happy and full.
Great spot for some Colombian food, food was stellar as was the service. We tried an arepa, ajiaco, and mini bandeja paisa. All were delicious, very filling as well. Highly recommend this place.
I’m Colombian and was craving food that felt like home. This place was delicious, tasted authentic, and large portions . Highly recommend
We were greeted as soon as we walked in and invited to sit wherever we wanted. The server took our drink order and delivered our drinks quickly. Then he took our food order and we waited about 10 minutes or so. The food was hot and delicious and the portions were very generous - 2 of the 4 people in our party had leftovers! I would definitely revisit for more delicious food!!
Great Colombian food in San Diego!!! The food is so fresh and the employees are all so nice. Will definitely be back!
The food was delicious! I really liked the soup and the Carne Desmechada which I thought was better than the Bistec à La Criolla. Customer service that day was definitely slow, we asked for water and never got it, but I think there was only one person serving and taking orders so she was probably very busy.
Best colombian food in SD. Miss having colombian food in NY, glad I found this and was awesome 👌
Delicious food, arepa con queso is amazing, really worth a trip no matter where you are in the area. Ask for the house made hot sauce, it’s a lime and jalapeño based treat that goes on everything.
First time here, and we ordered the Pollo a la plancha, Chuleta (pork chop) a la plancha. Both were cooked perfectly and so delicious. The arepa con queso was the best I've had outside family cooking. The empanada filling was so hearty and flavorful. Finally, the ajiaco is just like grandma used to make. I will definitely be back.
This is an authentic Colombian restaurant with all the most traditional dishes from the South American Country. All the options are gluten free and you can taste the freshness and authentic flavors they have in all their options. I’m from Colombia and I have to say that their empanadas are just as good as the original ones in Colombia. The bandeja paisa, patacón con todo and mojarra frita are the top entrees in my opinion. The atmosphere is cozy and feels like home even though is a small restaurant. Make yourself a favor and try their delicious food!
What a delicious find! We ordered the shrimp ajillo and empanadas. Excellent preparation and presentation. Our dish served two people. We watched other dishes and the servings were all big. This place is worth a stop.
Muy Delicioso!! My Colombian coworker referred us to this place, the food was beyond delicious and very filling! This is good home style comfort food at its best. It's a small mom and pops environment, but absolutely delicious and well worth the drive to the other side of town!
This place has fantastic food. The food feels authentic. Colombian. The staff is very friendly. And the prices are good for the quality of the food that you get. I do recommend this place as a Colombian. The only thing is just the parking could be tricky but there is always parking around the area. This is a must try place.

As authentic as the food can get. If you've had these plates before, this is where you'll want to try them

Absolutely Loved It!! The Server Definitely Made Me Feel Comfortable In Ordering As It Was My First Time Here.. The Empanadas Were BOMB as well as the rest of the food 😋 will definitely be back soon!
I moved away years ago but I still think of this place , I don’t know if they still make it the same but the empanadas were special. It wasn’t just one meat and no other details in it. I was Pollo was amazing. I pretty much ordered the basics but it felt like home cooked food. Love it so much.
Got the mini bandeja paisa. Perfect size. Everyone ordered the same thing and were completely satisfied. Also got empanada de pollo and jugo de Lulo. Loved it.

I was really craving Colombian food after having it in New Jersey. This place was delicious and delivered in taste and service. I’d definitely return again. Heads up, parking is a bit rough in the area and you must order empanadas individually!
The food is good and unique since the entire San Diego Latin American cuisine is mostly focused on Mexican food. The price though, is pretty expensive for a more casual feel restaurant. Very friendly waiter

Everything was excellent the food, hospitality, and ambiance. The only improvement I would suggest is finding a solution to keep the floor dry during rainy weather, as it becomes very slippery and could potentially cause serious injury. I had a great time there.
