Everything is made fresh right here. Perfect (no-fuss) croissant breakfast sandwiches. Beautiful assortment of breakfast pastries. Our family loves stopping in for a quick bite. The owner and staff are very nice people and always make sure we leave smiling. Egg / cheese croissant (yellow cheese) and Strawberry/banana smoothie. Yummmm. :)

Was looking for a quick stop to just grab an go came across sunny donuts and thought it would be better than Starbucks or coffee bean. Well... I was right I ordered two egg cheese croissants and a couple donuts. I have to make my croissants to have a flaky/ crispy croissant sandwich but this place surprised me. I randomly found this place while driving by. Can't believe it is open 24 hrs and there is an old school counter for you to sit at to order other food items. Got a dozen donuts holes and a Bavarian cream and a marble frosted donut. Pretty good and will be stopping by again when I am in the neighborhood.

Came here for my daughters birthday celebration! The staff are extremely sweet! Food is soooo yummy! Donuts are delicious! We left them a good tip cause they are amazing. Definitely coming here again! My daughter loved her donut as well. I got the sausage egg and cheese croissant and it is by far the best breakfast sandwhich I have had.

Nice staff, good quality hot chocolate* and delicious donuts. Hours are very flexible, whether you need a bit to eat in the morning or late night. Surprisingly the drink selection had a much better offer than what you see in vending machines in San Diego. *Not much of a coffee drinker so I can't comment on their coffee.

Love this place and have been going for years. They are open 24/7 because theres no bad time for a doughnut! They have breakfast sandwiches, coffee, drinks, and blended drinks also. They have a fairly classic doughnut selection and classic doughnut prices

Donuts and Lattes are amazing! They we also able to fill a craft of coffee for the office. I recommend you call ahead if you want them to make a to go box of coffee, but it wont disappoint!

I judge doughnut shops by their apple fritters, and Sunny has some of the best I've found anywhere. Rich with apples and cinnamon, non-greasy (no easy feat with apple fritters), and just the right amount of sweet. Their "small" is a normal-sized apple fritter; get the large if you want to treat a family of four.

Cozy location, donuts were an abundant with favors to satisfy every fan. Staff are amazingly welcoming & friendly. Got my satisfy donuts fixed today.

They have, by far, the very best doughnuts. Their prices can't be beat, they make you feel like you're visiting family, and the choices are plentiful. And if they are out of what you want, they will make it on the spot. My family and I will be lifelong patrons.

This is by far my favorite donut shop! All of the employees are so nice, and everything is delicious! I usually get the cake donut holes with a coffee, but I sometimes get their croissant sandwich (I get the egg+ham with American cheese and jalapenos). I honestly come here at least like 3 times a week

Donuts are FRESH and melt in your mouth. Taste good on the 2nd day as well as long as you pack them in a bowl with lid or ziplock! My brother bought these home and it was my first time having them. I will definitely buy again along with trying the croissant breakfast sandwiches 🙌🏾🤗

Donuts were amazing and so was the service. We visited late one night and the lady working was chippy for the late hour she was working. She was telling us how they were prepping nearly 700 donuts for the morning.

They always have a good selection and the staff are very friendly. I usually pick up a dozen for the folks that are working on the weekends at my work and they love it. My personal favorite is the Boston cream pie, with my second favorite being any of the jelly filled.

Best donuts in Clairemont. Any time of day or night, you can get a fresh donut, or 3 dozen for an after party. If you catch it right when they come out of the fryers, just give up any plans you had, and any diet you're on, and just sit there. I drop in whenever I'm in the area. Hooked on the French delight (apple filled with cinnamon frosting), coconut cream, Boston cream filled donuts. Donuts are light and fluffy. Fillings are delicious. Really good chocolate. They have cruellers daily, not just on weekends. I don't get old fashion donuts here. Too many filled donuts to chose from. A favorite for decades.

Great croissants and croissant sandwiches! Hubby was given careful guidance how to keep the plain croissants fresh for the next day and the sandwiches were cut and wrapped in halves; very considerate! Our ham, egg and Swiss croissandwiches were great with salt & pepper (we skipped the mayo) and the glazed donut holes were light and tender with zero chewy-ness. Very pleased to have found this family-owned business we can support. We’ll go back again soon!

Oh my gosh, customer service was awesome! As soon as we walked in with our kids, they were praised for cuteness and given donut pops. I fell in love then. The donuts were awesome and there was many to choose from. Prices were fair and the donuts were soooooo good. Yumm, wish I brought some back from my trip. My only thing is the back storage room which houses the bathroom. Filthy and products everywhere. Hate to see the kitchen. But the best donuts I've tasted yet.

The chocolate cream donuts are my guilty pleasure. They're absolutely amazing! The french delight are delicious as well as the vanilla cream filled donuts. It's best to go in the morning as all the varieties are there and the ladies willing to make extra, keeping all customers happy with fresh donuts. There's not as much variety in the afternoon around 4 pm and sometimes your favorites are not available. Better then Dunkin or Krispy Kreme.

My boss asked me to stop and get donuts for our entire office on a tuesday morning. Just moving to San Diego I had no idea where to go so i hopped on google. Sunny Donut's was a location that popped up. After reading some reviews I decided to come here to buy 4 dozen donuts and I'm so glad I did. The ladies working were so sweet & patient with me. Hands down the BEST donut shop in the city. I drive a bus all over town, i try to visit every donut shop i can and i can say without a shadow of a doubt this is the best. My favorite donut is the chocolate and the vanilla kreme filled. Their kreme filled 90% of the donut compared to other companies that filled only 50% and somtimes less of theirs. Slice Sunny's kreme filled and the kreme oozes out because the donut was so filled. The ladies serving are pleasant and very friendly. 5/28/2025 Sunny! A very good place to find some of the most delicious doughnuts. Only bad thing I have for them is that the French crawler is now very small. Lately whoever is making this donuts has been stinging and making them very small. They can be now consider mini donuts just because of the size. Honestly, I will recommend to the owner or manager at least to consider this feed back and make them again at least at the regular size of the other donuts. This French's are even hollow, how come they are now too small? Other than that everything else is good and Service is always great. Last thing is that this place is open 24/7 and always have good coffee and a pastry to go along with it.

They have the best dough I ever tasted . All product are fresh. Open 24/7. I did not give them 5 stars, because the only problem is that the donuts are too sweet, too much sugar. Try to put less sugar, try to do chocolate bars with dark chocolate and you will see how your sales will even increase more.

Go here one Saturday morning every month before work & I really love the service. Very fast, even if there a few people in front of you things go by quick here. 99 cents a donut and there are soooo many flavors to choose from that it's ridiculously hard to not walk out with at least 3-4 donuts each time you visit. This place always has a friendly Filipina lady to greet you and take your order. I honestly don't like the idea of having donuts sit out without having protective glass around it like most donut stores, but each time I come in, there are never any flies or critters to make me doubt the cleanliness of their facility and quality of their donuts (unlike some bakeries that I've been to). My favorite donuts are the custard and jelly filled donuts but, really, I've tried every donut in this place and everything is always good. Since this place is open 24-hours, your late night cravings can always be satisfied by Sunny's.

The selection of donuts at all times of the day is great, but only serving smoothies at certain times of the day is quite tragic. Any other menu item at any other time is fine, but a smoothie is way too much for them apparently

Sunny donuts is awesome as they are 24 hours. A traditional donut shop. Around $21 assorted dozen. The ham and cheese croissants need some help, single slice of ham and single slice of cheese leaves the croissants airy, dry and hollow.

I stopped in to buy a half dozen donuts. Later when I opened the box, I noticed they were misshapen and looked old. The donut in my picture was hard as rock when I started to eat it. I went to the shop around 1 pm, but freshly made donuts wouldn't have been that hard.

TLDR; customer service could greatly improve. Lady acted as if having a customer come in was the most inconvenience she ever had. And spoke in her native tougue thinking we wouldn't understand what she said under here breath. Sorry we took 5 minutes of your time! It will never happen again. We have been coming here for the last 3 years as its conveniently near by and also happens to be open 24 hours. We don't come often, usually just when we want something sweet late night. We only come late night and are aware that we won't be greeted with a fresh batch of donuts or the smell of fresh coffee. I have come by once or twice for the morning and it's a great atmosphere, welcoming and its a fast in and out if your there to get donuts for the morning shift, etc. The first time we came here it was great, good donuts, nice asian lady who would always take the time to tell us which donut was where if we got the same looking donut with different jelly filling. Unfortunately, since then it's slowly becoming subpar. The donuts were getting more stale every time we would come, and we have the habit of going around 10-10:30PM every time we've driven here. And like I said earlier, not frequent. I'd say we come every 3-4 months. We went tonight around 10:15-10:28PM. There was one person sitting at the bar minding his own business, there was no one behind the counter but we heard someone from the back so we just continued to look at out limited options talking amongst ourselves to see what the family might want. A Spanish lady popped her head out and told us one moment and so we continued to look at out options, once she came out, she did not seem to be very happy we came in. I understand how frusturating the fast food/food industry is so I paid it no mind, we all have one of those days so I just proceeded with our order. The first issue that should have made me leave was that she didn't wear gloves. She just used one of those wax paper holders, which would have been fine if she changed it once she got the next order, but paid it no mind. I had asked for 12 pieces of donut holes half glaze and half powdered and my partner continued to order a dozen of donuts. Afterwards I asked for another 6 piece of chocolate donut holes, figured I could have something for breakfast tomorrow before work. After asking she said "Dios mios" under her breath, I do not speak Spanish fluently but as a person who lives in San Diego, I am positive everyone knows what this means. She also kept sighing after saying "anything else" when my partner already told her what donuts he wanted and how many for each. We paid, left as soon as we could so she wouldn't feel so bothered to have to tender to customers late at night with no line or others waiting behind us. I am sure that she must have had a lot to do in the back, a lot of cleaning and baking and what not. So I don't hold it against her. But after that, my partner was pretty upset that she said that even though it only took 5 minutes for her to put our donuts in a box/paper bags and to be checked out. And didn't leave a tip, which I was surprised because he's usually the kind to leave a tip even if a server wasn't the nicest.. So I suppose the next time we crave donuts will just drive a few more miles to the next donut place closest by for less stale donuts and since it seems to be an inconvenience to have customers. I hope the lady has a better day from now on and gets another helper to help her out in the back. We may try to come back next time if we are every able to go earlier as it seems the mornings are a nicer time to come by, but until then we will just go else where.

My family and I had a late night craving for some donuts. Based on the reviews my wife and I decided to give Sunny's a try. Man, were we given one of the worst customer service experiences either of us ever had. No greeting, no smile, the lady was very unfriendly and cold the entire time. We felt as if were just inconvience to her cell phone time. She was watching TV while we were ordering and the way it was placed it looked like she was rolling her eyes while we ordered...I don't doubt she wasn't though. Need I mention the sighs in between picking our donuts? Customer service is a big determining factor on wether I give a place my business and I highly doubt I would go back or recommend this place to others.

First, the donuts had fruit flies in the case. This should have been a warning but I wasn’t being too picky. Then as I arrive home I take a bite of my donut and it is the driest donut I’ve ever tasted. I go and try a donut hole and it is so hard! They had some fishy oil taste to them.
