After many years away, I finally made my way back to Sunrise Buffet, and I’m happy to say they absolutely did not disappoint. From the moment I sat down, the staff set the tone for a great experience. They were attentive in exactly the right way—making sure my drink never went empty, checking in just often enough, and doing it all without hovering. That balance alone already put this visit ahead of many buffet experiences. The food, though, is where Sunrise Buffet really shines. The orange chicken was outstanding, with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice—not overly sugary, not bland, just right. The cold shrimp were cooked to perfection, tender and clean-tasting, which is something that’s surprisingly hard to pull off consistently at a buffet. Dessert is usually where buffets become hit or miss. Most of the dessert options here are recognizable Costco cakes and pastries, which honestly are totally fine and comforting in their own way. But the real standout is their house-made sheet pan apple pie. It is out of this world. Warm, flavorful, and clearly made with care, it easily outshines most buffet desserts I’ve had anywhere. And then there’s the ice cream—or technically, ice milk. I usually skip buffet “ice cream” because it’s often just flavorless frozen milk. Not here. This one actually has a rich, pleasant flavor, and when paired with that incredible apple pie, it works really well. It’s one of the rare times I’ve gone back for seconds on dessert at a buffet. A quick shoutout is also deserved for the fruit. The honeydew melon was hands down the juiciest I’ve ever had—fresh, sweet, and perfectly ripe. As if all of that wasn’t enough, they were playing Taylor Swift the entire time, which honestly just made the whole experience even better. For $17.95 at lunchtime, this is an exceptional value. Great food, attentive service, a relaxed atmosphere, and a few standout items that genuinely impressed me. Sunrise Buffet has earned its spot back on my regular rotation, and I won’t be waiting years to return again.

Great Chinese food and more at Sunrise Buffet on Convoy Street! So many great options to choose from. We really loved the chicken, soup, sushi, noodles, and seafood. They also have dessert options, we liked the soft serve chocolate and vanilla ice creams. We went at 11am on a Saturday and it was only about $18 an adult, a great value. Very friendly and accommodating service. Recommend!

Wasn't expecting this! The Chinese food was AMAZING. The fried Chicken was a 9 out of 10. The salads and ambrosia salad was killer. The chicken dishes are so soft and tender. The vegetables are all cooked perfectly. I did not try the sushi. It looked pretty basic. If you like california roll type sushi you will love it. The place is clean and service was great. I had 7 plates of food. Each was better than the next. The soup was also very good.
Sunrise has a large selection of tasty items and charges a fair price. They are very fast to replace an item that is almost gone and to refill your drink. The employees are very friendly and check in with you often to see if you need anything. You never need to hunt for your server. Our favorite items are the lobster, large oysters, fried head-on shrimp, crawfish, clams, steamed fish, fried fish, fried wings, hot and sour soup, and the dim sum. There is such a large selection that even picky non-seafood eaters will find items they like. Due to COVID-19 they still require masks when not eating and supply food service gloves for each trip you make to fill your plate. Update: No crab legs or oysters today (Sunday). Price is now $19.99/person. Update: Fri/Sat/Sun/Holiday price is now $21.49. No oysters today (Labor Day). Update: No crab legs or oysters on Saturday. The salt and pepper calamari was excellent. Prices increased again. Update: Prices have increased again, but it is still an excellent buffet.
Good buffet. The food is delicious. Prices are reasonable, vary by day of the week and time. There were few desserts for me, mostly just cookies. We came with dog and they asked us to show the certificate. We showed the certificate and we were seated separately from everyone in another room, apparently so that we would not interfere with anyone. After we paid the bill, we were given fortune cookies.

I want to say our overall experience for a family of 3 was good, the bathrooms were very clean, buffet looked really clean as well. The food was good but very bland/unseasoned. We did try most of the food there.

Went on a Monday night. Orange chicken was mushy, the seafood had been sitting out for a while, the pizza was not replaced once while I was there, 2 hours. The apple pie with ice cream is delicious, but a lot of the food was overcooked or undercooked (sweet bun was raw in the inside).
AYCE buffet. Lots of sushi choices, lots of rice and noodles on the hot table. What I can never understand is WHY do they put jalapeños Chinese dishes? Let people ADD hot sauce if they want spice. But putting in hot peppers, you limit the variety some are able to eat. It's so frustrating to see Mexican jalapeños in Chinese food. If I wanted Mexican, I'd go to a Mexican restuarant.
Foods were pretty descent but could be better. They were implementing the use of the gloves for customers while serving their own food but I saw none following that. The food offerings were limited and not as expansive as they claim on their website. They also skimp on the stuffing of the sushi rolls, so you get more rice than anything. The texture of the crab legs is weird, the meat texture is pasty... it's weird.
Food was not good, it had an off taste. Friend and I had maybe a couple of bites from our plates and didn't want to eat anymore yet were still charged the full amount of 51$ I wanted to pay them something just not full price since neither of us really ate anything, the manager was very rude and unreasonable about offering any sort of discount.
I used to eat in this restaurant years ago, I visited today with my veterans students, the first impression was not good, the hostess were not friendly at all. When I mentioned that we were twelve people, that first thing the hostess asked me if we had made a reservation, I said no and I apologized for that. Her response was it's ok for this time. I felt uncomfortable with her attitude. For the time that we're there, nobody came to pickup the dirty plates. Imagine twelve people eating in a buffet and the plates piling up. I am leaving this review as a warning to others, especially families with elderly diners. We ate lunch here around 2:00 p.m. the same day. Within hours, my 80 year old mother developed severe vomiting and diarrhea. She had not eaten anywhere else that day. One item she consumed was clams from the buffet, which raises serious food safety concerns. Food poisoning is especially dangerous for seniors, and this experience was frightening and avoidable. Whether it was improper food handling, storage, or temperature control, something clearly went wrong. Buffets require extra care and strict sanitation. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend eating here and would urge management to review their food safety practices immediately. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision.
One of the grossest places I’ve ever been in, instantly regretted walking in and deciding to eat there. Chicken was cold, food was greasy, soggy. There was no fresh food and for 2 people it was $60 to basically eat food from the trash. We took a couple bites to try different things in hopes of something being decent but it kept getting worse. We left without eating because we couldn’t stomach it.
It was going alright till the sweets , cream puff had mold in the cream , told the manager, they didn’t seem to care about the rest of the puffs 😅
we had a $87 check and they charged us more than $100. when we brought it up they told us we have to wait for the money to be back in the account. absolutely disgraceful. why we needed three separate checks and still paid more than we owed. absolutely horrible experience.
