The food is the bomb💣 Authentic and worth the price!
A nice local restaurant for a happy hour with a solid Mexican menu. The classic dishes were done well. Hearty serving of stacked nachos. Great flavor on the quesadillas. Come here for a relaxing experience with a laid back ambience. Friendly and efficient service.
This was our second time at the Blind Burro. The first visit was enough to bring us back. The second visit makes us want to return every time we come to San Diego. Best nachos & churros ever. Other food was good, too. Our server, Allison, did a great job for us. Keep up the good work!
During my recent work conference, I was lucky to find The Blind Burro right across the street from my hotel — what a gem! Erika greeted me with genuine warmth and recommended the bacon-wrapped jalapeños, which turned out to be an unforgettable treat. The perfect blend of smoky, spicy, and savory flavors made it a standout dish. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and drop by — you won’t regret it!
The perfect place to continue the party after a Padres game! We got a nice table for 8 right after a Padres win, sooooooooooooo double win?? Double House margarita with no extra flavor was one of the better margaritas I've had downtown. Service was incredibly quick, the $5 chips and salsa is a great deal and tasty. The menu is on the expensive side, but the two tacos for $20 and a side were huge and enough to satisfy a grown man. The grilled shrimp was fantastic, the Al Pastor seemed more like Asada but was still tasty. The rice was decent but meh, the black beans were good. TJ dog was great, tons of toppings and an ok bun, but $9 was a good price. Burro bowl was huge with added shrimp, and tasty! The service really shined for us so that will keep us coming back!
Had a great time at The Blind Borough! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, perfect for a night out. The tacos were really interesting and packed with flavor—each one a delightful surprise. The service was top-notch, with friendly staff who made great recommendations. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy some unique and delicious Mexican cuisine.

Nice service and atmosphere. Surf and turf taco is a bit too salty for me.
Stopped in to get some food before an even at the stadium and im glad we did. At first when I walked in, it was a bit crowded but lively and looked like people there were having fun. The server took me to a table in the very back where a man was blocking me from getting in.. she asked him to move and he refused and they both looked at me so I just told her I'll wait for a table to get cleaned. She apologize and so did I but not anyone's fault the other costumer was entitles.. he was also with a child so of course I didn't make a fuss. When I got seated I ordered a strawberry margarita and the street tacos with carne asada. The tortilla was a fresh made one, a little more greasy than I'd like, the carne asada was tender, had great marinade and little chard pieces that gave it more flavor. The salsa that came with them were not too spicy neither and they were also very tasty! Over all I would come back, the food was good and I want to try more.
I had the coffee rubbed salmon tacos, black beans, and street corn. It was all really delicious overall. Adding to lime to the street corn enhanced the flavor. House hot sauce was also a great compliment to the tacos. Bit noisy but about what you'd expect for a bar / restaurant in the gaslamp.
I ordered a lobster taco with street corn and tried two different margaritas. While the street corn was a bit too sour for my taste, and the margaritas, despite being listed as distinct, tasted quite similar, the calamari was excellent. Overall, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I’d happily give this place 4.5 stars!
I came here with a group of 7 for lunch and it was great. I ordered the surf & turf pasta and it was very good the only con I would say is the portion was small for the price. Other people in my group order tacos, machedes, surf & turf tacos and everyone were pleased with their meals. Some stated they wished their portions were larger but stated the flavor was overall good. I plan on returning while I’m in the area before I leave. The service was great.
This spot is like block from the Padres stadium so you can enjoy a meal and drink before you enter or a drink after. The average cost a plate is $23, I would recommend paying the $2 uncharged for the corn, well worth it, definitely better then rice or beans. For a starter I would get the salsa flight, it comes with 4 salsa a flavor and spice level for everyone. They have outdoor seating with shade cover for those nice days, and great for people watching. Good restaurant decor, a lot of seating plus they also have to bars with seating at both. The quality of the is decent, nothing rave about, but a good spot for an outing with friends.
Stopped in for a bite at The Blind Burro with family, our first time there. The setting was fun and lively with plenty of bar seating and a few TVs, making it a great spot to watch any game. Also, the service was wonderful, our waitress was on top of everything. As for the food and drinks, the best thing we ate was the cheese crisp appetizer (not pictured here) and a family side of street corn, while our short rib tacos and cup of pozole soup were just okay. The food was rather salty and our drinks were not that flavorful, nor strong. Overall, the menu had some great selections, but the quality just didn’t quite match up to the price.
Came on a Monday during Happy Hour where they have $4.50 beers, and about 5 items under $11 each. We went with: Fish Taco - came with one, but pretty large and filling Calamari - seasoned really well and nice and crunchy! Came with two dips which we really enjoyed. Queso Crisp - which was like a crispy chip pizza thing with toppings. Pretty interesting take as it was sliced like a pizza! Overall ambiance was pretty fun with lots of TVs playing and very attentive staff.
I definitely recommend the lobster tacos. The salsa and chips were incredible. I ate on those the entire meal! The rice and pinto beans were pretty good as well. The street corn was okay. It was highly recommended but there was a lot going on. Also, you kind of bet on margaritas at places like this but the pineapple margarita was, again, okay. The service was good and the outdoor dining options were amazing. I'd return and try new menu items.
Overall good first experience. The restaurant itself is super cool, and very spacious. Nice menu with a large selection of Mexican favorites. Food was served hot and very fresh, with what seemed to be high quality ingredients. Didn't give give stars because everything was spicy and wish it was optional, because tortillas had an odd flavor and were not as freshly soft as they should be, and because I was hoping for a slightly more authentic Mexican flavor. Outside of that, it was a great time.

Very big let down, the tacos were inedible. Great music I'll say, but wouldn't recommend at all.

Been twice and had mixed experiences. Overall food is overpriced, good not great. Perfect spot for watching sports and hanging out. Friendly and welcoming service. 2nd visit I got food poisoning very badly, but often times that is not the restaurants fault. Could have just been a bad item. I’d go back if others wanted to for a game or to hang out, but wouldn’t be my top choice for my own event.
We visited at around 1:30 on a Friday and we had no problems getting a table. The waitstaff were great they were super helpful and friendly. Caveat this review is from a Texan viewpoint: more flavor needed. The queso especial we were able to get without the potatoes, that was nice. It mentions it is made from three cheeses the one you taste the most was very reminiscent of be cream cheese. Our favorite was the the Al Pastor tacos every thing about the tacos were great. The Carne Asada Cali was big. The Chicken Tinga Torta was disappointing the flavor of the meat was not present. (Maybe not a California thing, but if any Texas visitors are reading this do not expect chips and salsa at the table.)

Not so great. Tacos were sub par. The drink special seemed out of date as in sour. Service was good. Place was clean. Just disappointed on the taco, and their content.
Very cool location. It was super crowded the day i went there because there was a padres game. The service wasnt great and frankly, they were kind of rude.

Everything was ok. server was nice, portions were large. The food was fine but not Authentic Mexican food like I was expecting.
I recently had lunch at this Mexican restaurant with a coworker, and unfortunately, it was a mixed experience. We started by ordering chips and guac, fish tacos, and a Birria burrito. The chips and guac never made it to our table, which was disappointing. My coworker ordered the fish tacos and appreciated that they offered a choice between grilled or fried, which is great for those with dietary restrictions. She said the tacos were good overall. However, my Birria burrito was mostly rice with only a few strands of meat, which felt like a huge letdown, especially for $24—definitely not worth the price. To add to the frustration, our server mistakenly charged us for the table next to us, which we only realized later. While we understand mistakes happen, it was still inconvenient to deal with the billing issue. All in all, the food and service left much to be desired.
The tacos were drenched in grease & the poblano rice was very dry. The drinks were gross as well. Service was great though.
Came here with my boyfriend to get some tacos I got the El Pastore tacos with the corn and he got the street tacos Carne Asada NO side. With his plate it was $20 for 3 Small Street tacos. He usually eats four, that's what fills him up pretty good so we asked the server if there was anyway they can charge us for one extra taco, the server said that he didn't think so that he would go ask and when he came back I guess they told him that they could not charge us for one extra taco, which I think is honestly pretty disappointing. I feel like they could have done it if they really wanted to and they just wanted to be jerks and say no to make us buy another $20 plate worth of tacos which is just greedy, but my boyfriend ended up saying it was fine he would just stick to the three tacos, they weren't anything amazing I had my two tacos that were bigger again the flavor was just very bland, The corn was extremely spicy like I had boogers coming down my nose, I couldn't even enjoy it. The hype just doesn't stand up to the quality of the food. We basically spent $70 for five tacos, corn and 2 cokes. Not worth it at all, I'd rather go to a real taco place next time. If I could give them zero stars I would but the lowest is one star I guess I'll give that to our server because he was really nice but other than that definitely won't be going back
