I live in oak Park and I always try to support our local businesses. I went to this place tonight for the first time and I have to say it's some of the best fried fish and shrimp that I've ever had. They have a unique taste that has a little kick to it but not too much. The people there are super friendly and very accommodating. We will definitely be back.

The first time I experienced the food from here was a couple of years ago, they were cooking out front of their house! 🙌🏽 Today, I had the pleasure of visiting their new store and every single thing that I ordered was absolutely AMAZING!!!!! I got the pick two meal with fish and chicken, both were seasoned and cooked to perfection. It came with two sides and I picked the Mac & cheese and the Red beans & rice. I added a honey cornbread, the shrimp egg rolls and the melon refresher. It was alllll good!!!! Congratulations and praying for continued success!

If you like food with flavor this is your spot. Chicken strips golden and crispy and ye Mac and cheese with gravy is fire. The collard greens are bomb. It’s a must try spot for sure. I’m not vegan but I must say I love the fried cauliflower.

Got catfish, greens, mac, and rice & beans. Rice & beans maybe felt a little under seasoned, but everything else was amazing. Hot sauce was perfect. Can't wait to order again.

So i been hearing about this spot for awhile and I had to try it ASAP after a long night of partying needed some comfort food. Boom we ordered Combo 2 with mac and cheese and collard greens. Let me tell you….THIS WAS SLAPPING..food came hot cuz we ordered it. And the chicken is tender added some hot sauce to my greens!! Baby 10/10 this will be my new comfort spot once a month maybe twice!! Go there! Food is amazing!

Bombastic!! Their food is thee best!! Love the cantaloupe water and the sweet potatoes !! Can’t go wrong with any of the protein options. Literally everything is good those are just my personal favorites!! Locally owned and operated small buisness!! Yum yum yum!!

The cooks put so much love and soul into the food. This was mine and my daughter’s first time here and it was amaaaaazing! We got all the sides! Red beans and rice are top tier so is the gravy Mac n cheese cat fish and the mean greens and baked beans etc by far the best with lots of flavor and meat in the greens

Oh my gosh, the food here is absolutely incredible! You can’t go wrong with their big greedy. They have a little bit of everything, and their side dishes are just as delicious. The honey butter corn bread is sweet and savory, the dirty mac and cheese is cheesy and gooey, the rice and gravy is creamy and comforting, and their cheesy mac and cheese is just plain cheesy goodness. It’s clear that everything is made fresh to order, and the customer service is top-notch. I’ll definitely be back!

Bruhhhhh, I don’t leave a lot of reviews, especially for restaurants, I always say as long as I didn’t get sick from eating there it was a good experience. But chef Budda’s blasian soul food is just DIFFERENT. I had the 5 piece chicken wings with dirty Mac, collard greens and corn bread and it felt like I was sitting at my grandma’s table for thanksgiving dinner. This food is SOUL food, it’s cooked with TLC and it shows. The chicken was juicy and not dry, seasoning had my taste buds jumping for joy. The Mac and cheese was soooooo creamy and umami flavored. The collard greens were wholesome and Smokey. The cornbread was sweet and savory. I’ve had a lot of soul food in my lifetime and this is hands down the best that you will find. I gotta say grace it’s so good, I pray that Jesus will continue to bless everything that you all do, amen!

Beans and ground beef was too sweet for me but had a nice favor. Macaroni and cheese was dry . Chicken wings and shrimps had a nice crunch .

I had The Big Greedy combo. The food was good, not too salty. The batter was thick and crispy, but chicken wings were a bit rubbery. The fish and tenders are my favorite. The mac n cheese and the collards are fire. The sweet and sour sauce had a bit too much peppers and seeds in it for me, but the hot sauce has a great flavor. The purple kool-aid was really good as well. Parking is tight and limited in front of the restaurant, but they had great TVs inside and had football playing while I waited.

Food was good, very tasty. I ordered greens but was given mac-N-cheese. Not sure what happened there. They were out of beans as well. Prices are a little high, but they were well organized and very busy.

The food was good I enjoyed the chicken tenders and the shrimp not so much to fish don't really like catfish the presentation was great the quantity could feed at least 3 to 4 people with the Big plate. And the atmosphere was absolutely nice TVs and music. And for this day and time the prices we're reasonable I would definitely go there again.

I’d definitely say the chicken was solid. The mac & cheese was decent but very basic. Tastes like a simple baked mac with salt and pepper, nothing extra or layered, but not bad. The collard greens weren’t for me. They tasted more like chard than collards, very plain, and didn’t have that slow-cooked, seasoned flavor I’m used to with soul food. Maybe could have done with some bouillon or vinegar, honestly I had to spit it out and as well as the other people I gave it to. Very Bitter. Felt more steamed than simmered. Cornbread was good,fluffy and lightly sweet, maybe with a hint of vanilla. Overall: Chicken good, mac okay, cornbread fine, greens missed the mark. Not terrible, but definitely not that good, prob would put it half star over Mississippi Bank head.

The vibe was nice and customer service was 10/10. I think the food would have been amazing if they would have changed the grease. I don’t think I’ll try again! The food was dark and the grease tasted OLD. They were closed Christmas Day- that was the initial day we tried to visit.

The vibe was nice and customer service was 10/10. I think the food would have been amazing if they would have changed the grease. I don’t think I’ll try again! The food was dark and the grease tasted OLD. They were closed Christmas Day- that was the initial day we tried to visit.

I ordered the Chicken wings,shrimp and catfish filet were all good, but Sides not good. My yams was hard, and not cooked, red beans and rice was very dry, greens tasted like it was from the bottom of the pot tasted burnt, ran out of shrimp egg rolls, but the Mac and cheese was good. Maybe it was a bad day today, I will give it another try.

After an hour, it caused her to have a stomach ache. The next morning she was in the bathroom sick. As I was eating my fish, there was a slimy stringy thing that was sticking out of when i would pull the fish apart. When i went to pulled on the string, it was wrapped around the whole fish and bundled up in the back, like a worm. Im not going to say it was a worm but it was unsettling enough to throw everything out. I know fish have parasites but the quality of this fish is questionable.
