Great food, with lots of flavor. They were generous with the food too,big portions.Ordered pupusas with fried plantains, very very yummy.Service can be improved.

So happy they reopened. Food is delicious, simple and fresh - just like it used to be. Theu raised the prices, which is understandable considering they have to pay for the makeover they did somehow. Totally worth it.

Yum. I always go for the caldo de res and a pupusa. It's the best combination on a cold and rainy day. You got to throw all that cabbage and sauce on the pupusa first. So good.

I've been to La Santaneca and used to frequent Rinconcito, both within a block's radius and this is my favorite. Tonight my friend and I sat at the bar enjoying some pickled vegetables which I found out was called, "escabeche". Seriously, more like escaBAEche. That stuff was the bomb. Great service. As always there is a little bit of a wait, but I'd rather wait 30 minutes here than go to the other places.

Delicious Salvadorian food. This place closed a year or so ago, so I'm happy to see it reopened recently! Be aware that the food prep is a bit slow here, but well worth the wait

Today I ordered pupusas to go. They are delicious, if you are vegetarian and eat cheese I recommend cheese and beans pupusas. Meat eaters they have many options too.

Gentrification can't rid of this place! Excellent pupusas. Love that you can order and pay online. Keep the pupusas alive in the mission! Eat here

Best papusas outside of Central America. So stuffed with filling it spills out. Flavorful and most importantly, not dry. I've had some papusas that the Masa (dough) is dry. Not here. Everything is perfect every time. The best TRADITIONAL horchata you can find. Worth the stop

A
Andy Martone

Awesome pupusas. If you haven't had a pupusa yet, you should definitely make it a point to check this place out. It's cornmeal and melted cheese - what's not to like?

A
A.K. Kapoor

Hands down best pupusas any time of day...except for 10pm on a Friday, when they close! Ugghh sometimes fashionably late makes you pay dearly. but freals, cheesy, gooey, and when I feel like it, meaty goodness that one should definitely eat with a knife and fork (read: piping hot cheese ooze).

Inga Conti-Jerpe

The pupusas and chicken soup were excellent! Very reasonable prices and a kind and friendly staff. I will be back!

Best pupusas I've had in the mission. So. Good. Can't really go wrong with food here. It's all delicious.

Recently remodeled, I thought they were not coming back. They came back and kept the same great flavor. They will definitely satisfy that pupusa fix.

S

I liked everything about this restaurant. Very clean bathrooms which is very important for me. The one thing I did need was some type of salsa picante. Being Mexican, siempre necesito mi salsa picante para dar más sabor al comida! Provecho!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! The food is amazing, delicious pupusas and authentic Salvadorian food. I took my aunt here who’s from El Salvador and she said it reminded her of her home country and she was so surprised that the horchata was so authentic. The atmosphere isn't super fancy, but the service was fast and friendly and the portions are very fair. Everything is really delicious. I will definitely be going back soon!

C

Worth the wait. Pupusas were generously sized with cheese and well-marinated meat. What blew me away were the sides: sweet corn fried tamales (fragrant, crispy edges, moist inside) and fried plantains (caramelized and tangy) - I had high hopes of re-tasting the flavors I remembered from traveling in Latin America, and Balompie didn't disappoint. Every bite was better than I had hoped. High quality ingredients, made with heart.

The definition of a mom and pop shop. Evelyn the owner is awesome and usually there so say hi! It's definitely worth stopping by for some amazing hand made pupusas

Having lived in San Francisco my entire life and having eaten at every salvadorian restaurant for the last half century, I have to tell you hands down these are the very very best pupusa's in San Francisco. The staff is very helpful always especially when you are on the phone ordering something for take out. The owner makes sure that everyone is made welcome by the entire staff. During the pandemic I believe they made some remodeling upgrades which makes it even nicer and yes there is a parklet outside for outside dining. They have the most delicious orchard I like it by the pint. Thank you to the amazing staff. Muchisimas gracias

I love Papusas and this place never fails to deliver. Their papusas are delicious. My favs are the chorizo and cheese as well as these steak and cheese. The prices, especially for sf, are affordable and everyone who works there is nice and attentive. Def one of my fav papusa spots in the city.

This is my favorite pupusa spot in San Francisco. They've got another location on Mission in the outer Mission but this one has more space. Their curtido is tasty and the pupusas are really great here. Plus it's a great value and priced well. Service might not always be as responsive but it's a busy place and worth it!

Had the papusas. Excellent service and delicious food. This was the first time in awhile a restaurant filled a drink up without much ice. Great value for the money.

Great pupusas, friendly staff, and nice little eating area outside. One of the only restaurants I have been to that take your temp and make u sanitize on way in if you are eating there... would recommend this restaurant to anyone

B

Totally THE best Salvadoran food in the lower Mission. The flavor is much better than others I have tried. The Salvadoran enchilada is really tasty, and the pupusas are the best, especially with Lorroco. The beans are interesting (pureed) but real tasty. The rice is also uniquely Salvadoran. It's my go to big time.

V
Vanessa Ross

Love coming back here for their well known and made "pupusas", a Salvadorian dish, thick and handmade corn tortilla w/delicious and savory meats inside. It's always busy and service is excellent. Great place to watch Futbol and other sports. They offer a jukebox with all your favorites. All around delicious and tasty food.

Wow!!! I mean we were craving something cheap and delicious and wow does this place deliver! We stopped in almost around closing time and they were so kind about it and still served us and helped us figure out our order. Staff are excellent! The beat thing here is of course the arepa! Like order a few different kinds and share or just sample some and take it home! Either way it's a must must must try here! There is nothing like that texture combination of the doughy and gooey arepa (based on the filling of course) with a perfect bite of cabbage slaw and drizzled with some of that sauce! Idk which sauce but test around and use all of them and see which works best for you! I love spice, so I piled on high them jalapeños and red spicy sauce! We also ordered the fried fish to share and it was ample amounts of food! The fish was good, but by far the best thing is the arepa! My favorite are very basic- cheese, mixed (meat and beans) and of course meat (your choice!)!! Would definitely recommend and don't be shy to order a local beer and just chill!

When I went on a funventure in the city a couple of weekends ago, I was in the mood for some good pupusas, and Balompie Cafe came across my radar during my restaurant search on Yelp. I decided to save this review for my official 100th review here on yelp (Yippee!). Balompie boasts some truly authentic, delicious and quality food at a very reasonable price. We ordered the pork/cheese and shrimp/cheese pupusas, and they were both spectacular. I really enjoyed the shrimp ones since I had never had seafood in a pupusa before, so it was a really cool and new flavor combination for me. I also thought that the pork pupusas were particularly savory. I don't think that you really can go wrong with any of their choices. I recommend taking a look at their specialty pupusas since they had a pretty interesting selection. We also ordered the platanos (fried plantains), which I could have done without, but my fiance loved them. The only negative thing about our experience is that when they asked us if we wanted sour cream with the platanos, we said yes, unaware that it would come at a fairly hefty extra cost (for sour cream, that is). I wish it had been more clear in the questioning, but I was still incredibly satisfied with my experience here hence the 5 stars! Overall, if you are looking for some authentic food in the Mission at a cheap price, come here. It is delicious and they give you a lot of good, quality food for a price that is pretty atypical in San Francisco.

One of my two favorite places to get pupusas!! I recommend the Revueltas (mixed), with a side of plátano fritos con crema! You cannot go wrong! Fresh ingredients and made with so much care and love for patrons! The ambiance is nice, especially for futbol (soccer) fans!

Balompié is a not so hidden gem in the mission. It has apparently been in the same spot of almost 30 years and somehow this is my first time visiting them. I went here because I wanted pupusas and I was not disappointed. Their pupusas were very tasty and a lot less greasy than some of the pupusas I've had at other places... And the server, Evaline(not sure if that's how you spell it) was very friendly. I will definitely recommend this place and I will return

Very cute soccer oriented, El Salvadoran spot. We had the pupusas, which were great. Service was prompt and friendly. Decent selection of beers on tap. Wine selection very limited.

Best pupusas in the city. Not greasy, made correctly, and the best staff! I have just recently been introduced to pupusas and now have taken it upon myself to find the best ones. Look no further, dear readers, this is the pinnacle. Well, there other location is equally delicious. I could eat here every day.

Literally stopped by on a total whim for a quick bite before valentines dinner but DAMN!!! Super home made comfort salvadorean style cooking WONT be fast since it's fresh 😎 I wasn't planning to leave a review, so the complete food plate never had a chance to look pretty but look at that freshness! We got the 2 pupusa combo with rice and beans with a delicious agua de jamaica. All reasonably priced.

This is honestly my favorite place. I love their pupusas, always fresh and delicious, compared to other places, they hands down have the best!!! I always order to go and haven’t dined in but the service of picking up or calling in my orders are always pleasant and everyone’s that’s serviced me have been kind and professional. In my opinion best pupusas in SF, every single one. And I love their frijoles 10/10!

This place is a must. The Pupusas are the best job town! The chorizo is also delicious and has just the right ratio of spices and fat. We usually get the Pupusa special and meat plate special to share. SO. GOOD!

Mario Dos Campollo

Very good El Salvadoran food. Everything was cooked perfectly and held up after a very late delivery. The bistec and chorizo was tender and juicy, perfect. The pupusa was filled with delicious meat and cheese but not overly dry (not to much masa). Excellent. The frijoles and salsa were fresh and savory. Awesome. Now I saw the other reviews and ordered instead. Everything arrived packed very well but like I said the driver got lost and missed the delivery window by 30min. So I got my food 1hr 30min after I order it but it was still delicious. Will definitely reorder.

Amazing little spot nestled in a bustling corner in the SF Mission District! As soon as I walked in I was greeted so cheerfully! The location is super clean and has 2 television as so I assume watching a soccer match and a cold beer or soda would be great! I ordered 6 pupusas to go 4 rebueltas 2 cheese! They were excellent! Super hot gooey and well the red sauce was probably one of the best I have tried! I can't wait to be able to come back slowly take pictures and eat everything! The bar menu looked appealing- Mimosas are on the menu and I spotted a beautiful coffee machine so definitely I want to order a cappuccino for the next visit!

Ohhh, SO good. We got a variety of many things... Papusas, tamales, chili reano, and more! Quality and authenticity was exceptional. Only thing we had a mix up with was the empanada. They were made out of plantains which we didn't understand, so we asked to make sure we got the correct item and they had trouble understanding our English but swore it was the right item. Still delicious!

On a whim my wife and I went here. I had been here years before and liked it. We came at a mellow time, around 2pm Saturday. No wait. The interior was nice, looked like there had been some remodeling done. The service was great. We ordered a beer to share and out came a 32 oz. bottle of Regia. Good, mellow, light beer, perfect with pupusas. We both got the platos típicos , casamiento and two pupusas. I ate the chicharrón y queso and loroco con queso. Both were really good with some curtido and salsa thrown on. Nice touch to have the bill brought out in a kid’s soccer shoe. Will be back.

R

Great place to watch a soccer game. And surprisingly cheap for the mission - even though it's not divey at all. The papusas are good and the plátanos + crema is great. This was our go-to place during the world cup.

My Take: Salvadorian cuisine with flash, but much heart Went For: weekend lunch The Vibe: a hang out futbol spot for locals including families, friends and kids Special Dish: Yucca Frito, pupusas in all favors Avoid Their: complimentary pickled cabbage that made my tummy turn upside down Price Point: totally bang for your buck! The Service: whether a newbie or a regular, the staff is nice and helpful Reservations: n/a FYI, FRIENDS: their pupusas come in favors like cheese plus seafood, shrimp, prosciutto OR chorizo to just name a few! That's fascinating! Eat up, Kimmie

V

The best place to eat pupusas. My favorites are the ones made with rice flour instead of the traditional corn masa.

A
Alexander Kanov

Great spot. The plantains and the frijoles con queso pupusa (better than the slightly-dry pork one) are amazing. Service ranges from mediocre to excellent depending on the server. Overall: worth (re-)visiting; I'll probably be back also because it seems like a good place to watch some World Cup games.

My favorite El Salvadorian food in San Francisco. All the pupusas are splendid. The service is down to earth. You'll walk out full and your stomach will be happy. :)

A

Ok the pupusas here are the awesome!! Packed and so many varieties. But they're service is very hmmm...how do I describe it... not rude but meh... almost feels like they can't wait for you to leave.

C
Cheryl Young

Great, low-key spot in the heart of the Mission filled with locals and some newbies in the know. As the name suggests, it's a futbol themed restaurant and that's what you will find playing on the TV. Lots of seating, but it is often full of a lively pupusa hungry crowd. The pupusas themselves are well executed and a regular one will come for the princely sum of $2.50. Two is usually enough for a hearty appetite, and a side of plantanos with crema make the perfect accompaniment. The curtido is crisp and flavorful as well. They have a number of beers on tap, including some local microbrews. Sweet, decent sangria can be had for a mere $3.50 a glass. Service is attentive and just incredibly nice.

C
Calvin Chow

Family run delicious Salvadorian food. Pupusas are the best in the area. Neighborhood is sketchy especially at night but I came for the food not the ambiance.

P
Paul Volk

Came here after happy hour for some much needed pupusas and they were great! They have a ton of different types here and they are crazy cheap (starting at $2.50 each I think). I got some "native vegetables" pupusa (whatever that means) and a pork pupusa. Both were yummy, cheesy, and completely filling. Definitely a no-frills restaurant, but honestly...could you eat pupusas any other way?

G
Gregg Tavares

my new go-to place for pupusa

D
David Canizales

The food is good but some times you has to wait long time for the food, needed to work on that. Waiters often ignore customers, they need to have some training on that, they need to learn to give customer attention.

P
Paul J Smith

Screamin' Pupusas! Hard to find better in S.F. My first time there, but not my last. Especially if I have more time, they are busy and I should have pre-ordered. I would love to kick back and eat there, and bring some friends so we can share each other's food, because there are so many delicious items on the menu.

M
Mary Louise Stymiest

Very very good. Some of the best Pupusas in the city. Kind of a neighborhood gem. Located a couple blocks south of mission. All hand made. Note one of the few places that makes casimiento side and has breakfast all day.

W
Will Calloway

Perfect for the casual weekend lunch in the Mission, with delicious and authentic El Salvadorean food. The staff are genial, but nothing above or beyond. The atmosphere is relaxed, and charmingly football-centric. The food is why you're here, and with two delicious papusas under your belt, you'll know why you came. The prices can't be beat, and have permanently dissuaded me from ever attempting to cook this at home. When it's so cheap, and so good, I can't argue.

S
Siddhartha Gupta

Balompie was recommended by a sweet el salvadorean lady at the ferry building farmer's market, and i'm so needy for pupusas that I found myself bus over the next day to try them out. I tried the espinaca pupusa and the frijoles one. The first one hit the spot, hot, delicious and cheesy, but I was let down by the beans one which felt like it wasn't freshly made. I also felt the salsa was sweet and didn't pack much spice. I'm a regular at Panchita's a few blocks down so the standards are very high. I'll be back here again though, can't go wrong with pupusas.

B
BeBee Frias

Ive been going here for years when they were located deeper in the Mission. Their horchata is the best I've ever tasted. The price for it is outrages though. They papusas are delicious and I highly recommend them. They usually have cool service and you can call your order in ahead of time too. I wish they were located everywhere.

G
Gughapriyaa Elango

Very authentic pupusas. Arrived super hot and fluffy. I got the chicken and the shrimp filled with loads of cheese, and Jamaica. Got side of salsa and coleslaw. It was a memorable meal.

Went here for Father's Day and although the food was good the service wasn't. The reason being is that the waitress didn't offer drinks or chips while waiting in the patio area of the restaurant. The place wasnt packed so we kinda expected to have a faster service.

W

The food was just ok at this location. They also made a mistake on my order. I would definitely recommend their other location instead. I won't be returning to this location.

R

My family and I have been going to Balonpie for quite sometime. We really enjoy the food here. It is a good "authentic" Pupusa plus all the other good Salvadorean goodies. The food is on the greasy side, but hey that is part of the experience. Besides the pupusas there are two plates that are must have. 1) The platanos, frijoles y crema plate: Awesome fried plantains, with beans and crema. This is a plate i grew up with and it never gets old. 2) Yuca frita con chicharrones: Most of the time the Yuca is made perfect, and that alone is worth it, and when the chicharrones (fried pork) is made perfect, well then its a good night indeed. The service is usually really good, and they take care of us. Lately on busy days though its been lacking. Example today it took well over 40 minutes to get our food, and she totally missed my request to get my 3 year old a quick plate of rice+beans. Parking around here can be tricky, but we usually just park 1/2 the block down on the burger Q lot and it always works out.

A
Andrew M

Solid pupusas. Took ~20 min to get two. Wen there around 230p, not busy. We ordered chicken pupusas but got cheese.

T
Tyler Lee

Food was pretty good, but the service was slow. Two other tables were served before us. I'm not sure if we were served slower due to our race or their incompetence, but nevertheless it was a disappointment.

A
Ana Lopez

This was my first time there. The cashier and server were unfriendly but not rude. This was a last minute pick since La Santaneca was closed. Food was okay and does fulfill the pupusa craving if needed.

R
Rosa E Torres

This place was just remodeled. The price have gone up and the quality has gone down. The interior looks nice with new windows decoration and cleaner walls, it looks more hip but it has less space as before. I order 2 pupusas cheese and loroco and chicharon(pork). With the cheese you can't go wrong, but the pork one it was too dry. I also order Horchata, salvadorian horchata they said. I'm sorry but that horchata did not taste like morro it tasted more of rice and cinnamon. Each pupusa is $3. I give 2 starts because the service was nice and the new idea around the remodel is soccer, but food quality to me is questionable.

Bill Masone
Bill Masone

I was waiting for a friend and decided to go in and get a drink. I ordered a cappuccino for $6 which was kind of pricey. When my order was ready I picked up my drink and it was very, very hot. In fact it was too hot to even hold! I had to wait almost 30 minutes before it cooled off enough to drink! I didn't get a warning when it was served to me which would have been the right thing for the staff to do. That said I probably will not go there again if they don't care for their customers enough to warn them about the drink being super hot and being aware to wait a bit before consuming it.

My dad went to the restaurant waited for around 10 minutes and a family walked in and they immediately got service. It was a disappointing experience as the food is great. I was looking forward to brining my family there as the food is great. My dad felt discrimination based on the race. Management needs to train their servers better regarding discrimination.

I just hate going somewhere and feeling like I’ve been ripped off royally- especially when there are so many places in the Mission deserving of our business. Pictured is their $15 plate- the tiniest bowl of beans, half a sliced plátano, and a scrambled egg. I don’t say this lightly but I honestly have zero idea how this place is in business. Low rating is deserved for the “service” alone; but the food is also greasy and tasteless 🤮

m
me me

Waited 55min, for 2 pupusas and rice with casamiento, which is one plate order, when I got my plate the rice was missing, I got charged $28.00 for an ordered that should have been $25.50, only 1 waiter...not very busy..This used to be one of my favorite places for almost 25 years...to bad it has gone down the drain..asta nunca :(

X
Xiomara Mirella

Where do I start, the women both the server and the one at the register really need to take a class on how to properly conduct business. The Server was very rude and condescending, she was acting as if we was bothering her asking a question. However when Men came in her attitude changed and she smiled. However with us she was very cold, not warm and friendly at all. Woman at the cash register was more interested in her phone than ringing me up and overcharging me. The food is very good however when you have rude service it tends to overshadow the delicious taste and make you not want to go there. Service is Key Ladies, Get it together!!! This happened yesterday morning and it was around 9 am

Came to pick up and order, I was told it’ll be 20 minutes. I returned, 20 minutes and then got told it was going to be 15 more minutes. The restaurant was empty. The service was slow. I could have made it better at home and saved the time and the money.

Folks, there’s a reason their menu doesn’t have any pictures. Their horchata is actually pretty good but for what you’ll spend on food here you can feed TWO at most other places nearby but the food is actually palatable.

I have been eating at this Balompie with my family since the 1990's. It seems under new ownership now and while the pupusas and salvadorean cuisine remains good quality; fresh and good ... if you do choose to come here expect to : 1) pay high prices, (2.00 for two tablespoons of crema that will arrive after you are finished with your meal yet will be on your bill) 2) expect to receive very Low customer service with a serious wait time for them to give you the attention and help you with basic customer needs like wanting salt if they serve you "yuca cosida" and wanting at least One curtido refill when you order more than 9 pupusas, lastly an apology and a bill adjustment and reprint when the bill has discrepancies. The owner lady nor the man that is acting as a server don't show any desire to help the customers. Its 2022 and San Francisco has plenty other GREAT salvadorean cuisine options where they will appreciate your business with both good food and good customer service_ maybe take out would work best to not be disappointed 😉, up to you.

I will defiantly not be returning to this place. Today Wednesday 11/16/2022 at around 6:30pm. I was meeting co-workers for dinner and as soon as I sat down the smell was so strong coming from the old carpet. We then order our food and my co- worker orders a pollo encebollando the chicken was so tough it was crunchy and no flavor. He return his plate and told the waiter. He didn't seam to care. As we were eating a MOUSE ran across the restaurant we told them and they didn't seam to care also. We were disgusted and could not finished our food.

I love this place, but unfortunately tonight this has changed my opinion on their customer service. We drove across town to come here because they are usually open until 9:30 pm. We walked in & they told us that they couldn’t take our order, because business was slow and they decided they were going to close early. There were at least 15 people sitting there, eating and I explained our situation & they still refused to sit us down with an attitude & smirk. As we stood there contemplating what to do, we saw someone getting their food. They were rude & unprofessional. Not a great first impression for my guest who is here from out of town.

I came in person to place an order and I was told to my order will be ready in 20 minutes. So twenty minutes past by and I came in to pick up my order. Turns out the lady who took my order forgot to place it and the workers just talk among each and again they told me to wait another 10 to 15 minutes. I did not receive any apologies from there. The workers do not even smile when customers come in to restaurant. I have not come back here in two years because I have had bad experiences with this place. As an example, place a large order and missing some pupusas and being insulted for telling them about my incomplete order After that after two years May be things would have chanced, their customer service. I regret even giving tips and coming back to this place! Such a poor service!!!

If I could give a zero-star rating, I would. I've known and patronized this place for years and had noticed and experienced that the some of the servers are flat out rude. The deal breaker for me was a more recent visit my senior-aged mother made where she was pretty much treated like dirt by one of the women that works there and has for years. I will take my money elsewhere even though the food is great. A better option is their location on Mission and Richland. The servers there are nice and seem to understand the meaning of customer service.

I am not going to lie. The food and place is good. They have all the Salvadorian food that you are looking for and the taste is so good! But big orders for occasions like birthdays my experience was poorly. I had to make two trips for the food for my son’s birthday and by the time of my second trip to pick my food the remaining of the order wasn’t ready. Even though, we agreed to pick my order by 3:00 pm. It’s 4:07 pm and still waiting.

The pupusas are not the same, they are not good as they used to be and customer service is horrible. The waitress are not friendly and courteous. I won’t recommend this place to anyone to eat here. When customers order to go , they can’t say anything because it is too late to complain if food is a mess. The Owner needs to get involved and train employees properly.

I have been in this restaurant several times before, while I always thought is was an average restaurant. I didn't mind, but now it has reached rock bottom. The food is bad, I ordered Pollo encebollado, the chicken and rice were hard and had no flavor. When I told the waiters he didn't even care. I ordered something else and returned the chicken. While I was waiting for my other item, a mice showed out running around the table. That kill my appetite, my friends and I didn't not finish our food. Even though we handle the situation quietly, we didn't feel that they were taking our situation seriously. Needless to say we are not going back.

This place might as well be a ghost kitchen. Came in for two pupusas and waited half an hour while they prepared what seemed like 50 doordash meals. The only customers in the restaurant were me and one family. Never again

The worst I will no ask for DoorDash again on this store I’ve there twice but this is my very first time ordering here by DoorDash and been deliver somebody’s order! I ordered pupusas and I got something like a chicken and cucumbers! Have never happened before to me in any other store and the delivery person doesn’t answer my calls, the times I been there I know food is good but idk if happen something with the receipt or entire responsibility is by the delivery guy.

So everything was good. The presentation looked good, I ordered 2 pupusas, and yeah, so I sat down to eat the papusa, and I think I finished one of them and then um, upon further inspection, I thought that there was a piece of hair in the pupusa, and then I turned the piece of pupusa to a different angle and it ended up being a cocka roach in the food. So I'll include photos in the review as proof. To be honest with you, I was enjoying the pupusa it was pretty tasty until I saw the cockroach.

Food was excellent, one of the best Pupusas I have ever had. Reason for one start is because they were trying to cheat and took no responsibility when called out for the error. My friend and I only ordered 2 pupusas and a coke. And when it was time to pay the total came out around $14. I was a bit surprised and suspicious of the total. So I asked for the receipt. I can't imagine how many people they have cheated because they only show the grand total and not the itemized total unless specifically asked for. I noticed that the menu had pupusa listed to $4.75 wheras they charged me $5.25 each other for both of them. Things got ever worse when I pointed it out and the server tried to play dumb and act like he did not know what I was talking about. This happened for solid 2 min and it seemed like we were arguing at this point. So I pointed it on the menu and showed him the difference. I then asked him to fix it or make us an additional pupusa for the inconvenience whichever is easier. He replied "NO" in an aggressive and rude tone to which I responded "okay no problem, please fix it then." He said okay but totally ignores us for about 20 minutes. So we get frustrated and decide to leave. It wasn't the money which caused mental agony rather the aftermath of how we were treated which was infuriating. They also charge you an additional 5% service transaction which is further taxed and tip is added on top of it. Not once was this mentioned to us. ADVICE TO EVERYONE - ASK FOR ITEMIZED RECEIPT AND COMPARE IT TO THE MENUE PRICES.

I always to go the Richland location but this time I was near to the 18th location which I regret. $20 for the plate in the photo, the lady not knowing how to charge cash+card, I needed to try to ge the attention or get my check or anything else. Fully regret i spend my money there.

The food was ok, but the service was the worst I've ever experienced, I ordered a to go order and they made me wait over an hour and half for few pupusas, and I could clearly see that the priorities delivery orders that came through apps ( DoorDash and Uber eats) . The stuff was extremely rude and unprofessional I would never go back

I ordered Encebollado, which translates to Fish stew, the picture is Beef with stir fry Onion with a side of macaroni salad and rice.. What I received however is lightly grilled Chicken with Onion and boiled vegetables. For $18 you get a 3 tablespoon of rice, boiled veggies and chicken. The gravy is just soy sauce and corn starch. If I knew this, I could have eaten at the Chinese fast food for $6 with 2 item combo. It would be far more satisfying than this place. No question about it that I'm not the first person they've lied to. I'm just surprised, they are allowed to continue to operate this scammy business.
