Opinions de Burrito Loco San Francisco
My personal favorite is the shrimp super burrito, the size is just right for a hungry acrobat like myself. The employees are always really nice, the wait is never really more than 10 minutes on a busy day, the prices are pretty good, the location right next to west portal station couldn't possibly be more convenient on my commute to work and I like that you can see the kitchen/watch the food being made. I work in the sunset and if I bring a burrito for lunch people always as where in the sunset I found a good burrito so I always have to say "Sorry guys, I got it in west portal". I've visited many times (maybe twice a month or so since I moved to the neighborhood back in august) and I know I'll be back again.
By far one of the best burritos I have ever eaten at San Francisco !!!!
OMG the best quesadilla in town. I tried super quesadilla ($11,5) with chicken and asked for mild and green sauce(delicious). Place is modest but food is awesome. Thank you guys for doing that you made my day.
This place is amazing! Some of the best food in SF, at very reasonable prices. The tacos (super or regular) are delicious. They give you tons of meat, guac, and lime. Their habernero/serrano salsa is so firey hot that you regret each dip of your nachos, but so delicious that you can't help having more.
If your looking for amazing nachos Burrito Locos Is a place I will always recommend. I love the service here, the food has always been good, the employees have such good energy, always have, and the aguas frescas are perfect for warm sunny days. The food is always so much better when the people whom make and give it to you are good people.
The food is very good quality. Our usual taco place was closed because of Covid, so I phoned Burrito Loco to see if they were open. They took my order over the phone, and ten minutes later we were picking it up. Everyone was very happy because not only was it ready quickly it was also tastier than we usually get - and they gave us lots of chips! This was our first time, but we will be back.
The California Burrito was spectacular! Not greasy and full of flavor! Amazing!
Burrito was delicious. Would highly recommend the super burrito with chips and the watermelon drink to accompany the food. If you are lookig for good quality fast serving quick bite kind of Mexican food in San Francisco, this is a good choice.
My favorite Mexican place in the US. Everything they have there tastes amazing! Carne asada is my go-to meat, they marinate very well and it’s super fresh. Their chips are tasty, fresh and crunchy - and their tomatillo green sauce it’s the best.
I don't need to drive to the Mission to get my fill on Mexican food. The great thing about this place is that it's right next to the tunnel, so you can be here to/from downtown in 20 feet away. I ordered 2 carnitas tacos and comes with thin crispy tortilla chips for about $9. Little did I know they have Happy Hour from 3pm - 5pm with 2 tacos and no chips for $5! The tacos were to die for. They seemed to double on the pork and it melted in my mouth. Next time I will order a carne asada burrito, then I'll try their nachos, then next time I will...
We ordered chicken, carnitas, steak and veggie burritos and we loved them all! Huge portions and they gave us chips too with our large order. Thank you Burrito Loco!
My review is longgggg overdue. They have the best nachos and I get it super, vegetarian. No soggy chips, always crispy. Amazing salsa, melty cheese with guacamole.
I absolutely love this place. The Super Veggie burrito is superb. With fish is fantastic. Small, simple but mighty restaurant. Enrique the cashier works hard every day, with 2 cooks directly behind him preparing great burritos.
My al pastor super w/ black beans was actually excellent. I'm really picky when it comes to burritos since there are so many good options around this city but this one was legit. Their hot sauce is indeed spicy and excellent, all their sauces and salsa are great. Very small place so not much for seating but you won't care after one bite. Still thinking about that perfectly crispy yet moist pork
Favorite burrito place in SF. None-assuming type hole in the wall, prompt to answer phone orders and easy pickup. Carnitas burrito, regular for 10 bucks great value. Comes with chips and your choice of salsa.
Visited while on a recent vacation in San Francisco. We just happened to stumble on this place, but so glad we did. The food was delicious. I had a quesadilla and it didn't disappoint. If I ever find my way back to San Francisco, I will definitely plan a visit to this restaurant.
One of the best burrito places in SF! The burritos aren't quite as good as you would get in San Diego /Mexico but they are pretty damn good. The people are nice and the place is pretty small. They accept card and cash but the power was out one time so they only accepted cash. California burrito is a must try.
So its my second time trying the super burrito. What can i say its pretty good.! THe cashier guy. Is so friendly and humble. Im too shy to ask another sauce hahaha. I dont think its free.
The burritos are very good Great proportion my favorite is the steak and , shrimp burrito. It is excellent. It’s a small place so you have to pay attention and it’s hardly any parking unless you go around the corner but it’s worth it.
Delicioso el burrito. La gente genial. Paren y coman en el Burrito Loco. Stop and eat at the Burrito Loco. The food is flavorful, decent portions and the workers are super kind and helpful. I got their regular carnitas burrito and enjoyed it a lot.
Wait of 5 minutes, this was my first time trying these burritos and the flavor is very rich and tasteful, total blast of flavor.
Finally discovered what others have known for 14 years. Legit Mexican food. Got the super al pastor burrito with hot salsa. Al pastor was juicy and spiced just right. Pinto beans were soft and creamy. Salsa was really good. Tasted like a roasted habanero. Chips were light, thin, ethereal. Get off the metro. Go straight here. Discover your happy place.
Absolutely FANTASTIC! Had their Steak and Prawn burrito and it was divine. Trust me on my opinion cause I’ve had several burritos at several different places around the bay area and this is by far one of the best I had if not the best. Their salsas are also amazing. You can taste and notice everything is very well seasoned, from rice to the meats and the salsas. No bland food, everything is flavorful.
Living in San Francisco for ten years now this is my new favorite close by Mexican food joint. Great food! Well prepared! I had the shrimp nachos lately and they are the bomb. Attached is the Fish Tacos and Carnitas Nachos. All my experience here has been the best.
Yes!! I've been a customer since they opened, a few years back. Fresh, authentic food. Delicious. The real deal. Plus, they make their own tortilla chips & delicious salsas. Yum. 😉💝
Burrito Loco offers satisfying and authentic Mexican food. Their burritos are generously portioned, packed with fresh ingredients, and perfectly seasoned. The carne asada burrito, in particular, stands out with its tender, flavorful meat and vibrant toppings. The service is friendly and efficient, making it a great spot for a quick takeout. While the burritos are the highlight, their tacos, machos and quesadillas are equally delicious. Prices are reasonable, and the portions ensure you get great value for your money. If you're craving authentic Mexican flavors, Burrito Loco is a must-visit!
This taco spot is one of the best in the city. The food is great, and the vibe is awesome! Thank you so much! 🙏
Great place for a burrito! 1st time to San Francisco and loved this place. It doesn't look like much, but the food is awesome!
Excellent, HUGE (two servings’ equivalent, basically) vegetarian burrito, friendly staff and great salsa. Will stop by again when in this part of the city 👍🏻
Delicious tacos at this place they definitely don't skimp on the meat and the toppings. Be ready to use a napkin.

This place has the best and most affordable burritos in West Portal. There's no room to eat inside, so you have to do takeout, but the burritos are huge and the flavor is amazing! We will definitely be going back here again.
I'm sadden that their other location on Geary closed down, however this is now my after work/ school spot. Pretty quick. Longest wait wait time is 10 minutes for the food to be cooked, so 11 minutes in total. Food is still great and beats waiting in long lines( just to order) in the Mission and wait up to 20 mins. So it's a 5 star for me. Thanks Burrito Loco!
Some of the best carne asada I’ve had in a while. I got the super quesadilla
I got the California burrito and found the steak to be flavorful and well spiced, the burrito to contain a bunch of guac (I was very happy about this), the tortilla to be a little stale and also to not be wrapped properly so I lost the last 1/8 of my filling out the tail (I was not happy about this). The folks working there were super nice and their salsa verde is one of my favorites I’ve tried so far in the neighborhood.

I really liked my pork burrito. It had shredded pork, rice, and black beans. The pork was seasoned well. It was nice and hot inside which not many burritos are that I eat. It is one of the most tasty burritos I had. I'm definitely going back.
I stopped here for the second time today and am impressed. The ingredients are fresh, they're not stingy with the fillings and it tastes good. In fact, I'm eating a carnitas burrito now. The best thing I like is the customer service. Both times I stopped they thanked me for coming in. I've been disappointed with my old standby taquerias lately where I've been treated as a work product and got home with the wrong order. Try it, you'll like, They're right next to West Portal Muni station if you're traveling to or from.
Generous portions. I always find that nachos have way more chips than rounds, but it's the opposite here lots of meat and cheese. I also appreciate that they didn't have too much liquid in the fresh salsa, which keep them chips from getting soggy.
How did I manage to hit this place on opening day (1/1/4/14)? Menu straight forward burrito shop (nothing more than tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos and maybe a torta). I had the nachos and they were great, bursting with flavor, food is FRESH! Almost more seating out front than inside. The decor is simple. The menu is reasonably priced. Service is quick. Parking is street. #firstreview #first2review #onesmallstep
I got the super shrimp burrito, because people on here recommended it. It was great, until toward the end when I bit into something weird and crunchy that felt like a little nugget of charcoal or something. Could have been a shrimp shell but it was thicker than that. Anyway, I was kind of grossed out and spat out my food. Kind of a bummer because it was delicious before that. Friendly service, nice little space.
Solid burrito for the price, and you certainly can’t beat the convenience of this location right next to the West Portal station. I do wish the burrito had less rice and more of the beans and meat. The staff was very friendly, service was quick, and the free chips and salsa were fresh and delicious. If you find yourself on West Portal and have a burrito hankering, stop by.
Good burrito especially the shrimp one but a little pricey than Chipotle

Very friendly staff. Prices were great! Food was really disappointing. Got the fish burrito. Fish was very obviously recently frozen. Flavors just weren’t there. Chip quantity was very small.
The burritos seem to be the way to go. The tacos were quite the ripoff sadly. I’m used to getting a lot more in the tacos for way less in the mission district. The staff was very nice :) but I wouldn’t get their tacos again. Burritos seem to have WAY more and are cheaper...
Ummm, How Do They Have A Good Rating? Today was my 2nd time giving this place a try, the first time approx. 3yrs ago , I ordered two tacos, 1 grilled chicken, 1 steak, it waz just, ok ( i gave my steak taco away to the guy sleepingon the bench).. but I was hungry and wanted a quick bite b4 catching the train. Today I stopped in ( again for a quick bite) and ordered a super steak... Oh my, the box was full of grease, steak had a lot of fat and completely Flavorless, even the green salsa was bland/Flavorless, I tool two bites and tossed it, 8.00 wasted, I won't be returning, Ever.... and oh, they need to clean up in there as well.... 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
The chips were good. The salsas were watery and bland. But most disappointing was the pair of small dry tacos that cost me nearly $11. I had recalled stopping there a few years ago and being impressed with their affordable lunch special. Now, unsurprisingly, they don't even list their prices inside...
I had a Carne Asada burrito. The meat itself was charbroiled and it was delicious. However, I am very particular about what goes inside the burrito. I'm not a fan of tomatoes inside of it. I specifically asked for no tomatoes and of course it had tomatoes in it. 2nd issue was the Mexican rice. It was discolored and flavorless. The rice is the majority of the burrito..its the filler of it. So my meat had to compensate it's flavor to make up for it. I was only able to eat half of it. In my book I give it a 4 out of 10.
The worker who works there is very un attentive. I ordered a quesadilla and they charged me extra for this nasty meat. It was full of nerves and attachments making it impossible to chew. When i asked about this, The response was that the owner buys it like this. Dont go there. Not worth the money. Very nasty tasting food. Never again in my life will i go to buy and eat their food. Heed my warning.
Got one beef and one chicken burrito — both were pretty bland, no real seasoning. Had to use a ton of sauce just to taste anything, and at that point it felt like we were just eating sauce. On top of that, the chicken didn’t seem fully cooked and made us feel sick after. For the price, it really wasn’t worth it. Wouldn’t come back.
I don’t usually like to leave bad reviews but this time I had to, the Burrito was equal to food poison, couldn’t digest it, the meat was pretty mid and The whole burrito was very watery, the tortilla used to wrap it was breaking apart, after 4h after I ate the burrito I had to vomit the entire thing it was affecting my sleep, that thing was literally poison , I doubt about hygienic situation in there too so beware, I am sorry to leave this review but I had a bad sensation when I was eating it and it turned out to be indigestible.
